This Martyr Woke the Entire Sikh Nation! | Baba Tara Singh Ji Vaan

300 years ago, one man’s refusal to bow down sparked a revolution that saved the Sikh identity. In this hard-hitting episode of BOSTV, we dive deep into the life and Shaheedi (martyrdom) of Baba Tara Singh Ji Vaan. By 1726, after the Shaheedi of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur (1716), many Sikhs had begun to settle into "normal" life, attempting to integrate into a society that oppressed them... until Baba Tara Singh Ji stood up. We explore the incredible accounts from Bhai Rattan Singh Bhangoo’s Prachin Panth Prakash, detailing how a simple dispute over grazing land turned into a legendary stand against the Mughal Empire. This wasn't just a battle; it was the birth of the Sikh Renaissance and the catalyst for the first-ever Sarbat Khalsa. Join us as we uncover the story of the 22 Singhs who chose death over dishonor and reminded the Panth that a Sikh's first loyalty is to the Guru, not to a tyrant's peace.——————————————————📱 Social Media:YOUTUBE: BoSTV - https://bit.ly/3rYk5IWINSTAGRAM: @basicsofsikhi.tv - www.instagram.com/basicsofsikhi.tv🙏 Please SUPPORT our work:www.basicsofsikhi.com/donate👋🏽 Contact us:www.basicsofsikhi.com/contact-us

[TRAGIC] Revealing The Forgotten, Sikh Genocide | Never Trust Media

In the final Installment of our special 3-part podcast series marking 40 years since the November 1984 Sikh Genocide in Delhi, we delve into the aftermath of one of the most tragic and horrific chapters in modern Sikh history.Part 3 focuses on the aftermath of the genocide, exploring the responses of the Indian Government, the international community, and the Sikh community. We dissect the various official commissions set up by the Indian government in an attempt to investigate the events of November 1984 — commissions that, rather than delivering justice, often served to bury the truth and protect the perpetrators of this organised violence.Rather than viewing the genocide as a singular, isolated event tied solely to the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi (as discussed in Part 1), we explore the broader context and systemic nature of the violence, showing how it was part of a larger pattern of discrimination and targeted attacks against Sikhs. We also highlight the journey the Sikh community undertook to seek justice for the victims and survivors of the genocide, the challenges they faced, and the strides they have made in the pursuit of accountability.Join us as we honour the memories of those lost in the 1984 Sikh Genocide and reflect on the lessons that must not be forgotten.Check out: https://www.nsyf.org.uk to learn more!#1984SikhGenocide #SikhHistory #JusticeFor1984 #SikhDiaspora #IndianHistory #Delhi1984 #GenocideAwareness #NeverForget #SikhCommunity #SikhRights #PodcastSeries——————————————————📱 Social Media:YOUTUBE: BoSTV - https://bit.ly/3rYk5IWINSTAGRAM: @basicsofsikhi.tv - www.instagram.com/basicsofsikhi.tv🙏 Please SUPPORT our work:www.basicsofsikhi.com/donate👋🏽 Contact us:www.basicsofsikhi.com/contact-us

ABOUT THIS SHOW

Basics of Sikhi Podcast is a relaxed talk show about Sikhism (Sikhi) and topics related. Most discussions and learning about Sikhi take place in a formal setting like a Gurdwara (Sikh temple), by way of Punjabi speaking Parchariks (educators) speaking to the congregation. In recent years, many educators have taken to online platforms such as YouTube & Facebook to inspire, educate and spread the message of Sikhi to the world, in English. Our successful and popular YouTube channel, Basics of Sikhi (be sure to subscribe!) has been hugely appreciated as a new, interactive and modern way of learning about Sikhi, especially by the younger generation, some of which who cannot speak or understand Punjabi so much.In a similar way, this Podcast, hosted by Sukhdeep Singh (Sikh educator at Basics of Sikhi) and Karanveer Singh (Sikh volunteer), is continuing that innovation by bringing learning about Sikhi to an informal and relaxed platform in the form of this talk show podcast.
