🔥 Episode 98: What If You Convinced Yourself You Don't Deserve More After Divorce & Empty Nest?
What if the life you want after divorce isn't out of reach? What if you just can't see it yet? There is a particular kind of stuck that doesn't look like stuck from the outside. You have a roof over your head. People who love you. Enough to get by. And you've told yourself, quietly and repeatedly, that wanting more is ungrateful. That bigger lives are for other people. That your job is to be content with what you have. But here's the truth. You can't find a future you can't see.And the reason you can't see it has nothing to do with whether it's available to you. It has everything to do with the story that's been sitting in front of it blocking the view for longer than you realize. In this episode we're talking about the women who don't join the Sisterhood because they've convinced themselves they don't need it or don't deserve it. And why that belief that quiet, humble-sounding, completely understandable belief, is the exact story keeping them from the life that's waiting for them.We cover where that story comes from and why it sounds so much like gratitude. Why happiness is not a finite resource and your abundance does not take anything from anyone else. Why fear keeps women from doing the work that would set them free. And what becomes possible the moment that story is finally found, named and released.Big lives aren't for everybody. But if you're listening to this podcast — you are not everybody. 🔥 Episode 97 - You Are Never Alone: The Healing Power of Community After Divorce
Here's something nobody tells you when your marriage ends. The most dangerous thing you can do right now is try to heal from divorce alone. Not dangerous in a dramatic way. Dangerous in the quiet, slow, barely-noticeable way that keeps women stuck for years, carrying the same grief, the same pain, the same patterns, with no one to witness it, reflect it back, or show them another way.Healing after divorce was never meant to be a solo project. In this episode I'm talking about what happens when it finally isn't.I recently spent time with a group of sisters in Destin. And what I watched happen in that room, the laughter, the love, the particular energy of women who have been through something real and don't have to explain themselves to each other, reminded me of everything I believe about why community changes the speed and the quality of healing after divorce completely. We cover why isolation is the enemy of healing after divorce, and what it actually costs you to white-knuckle your way through this alone. What it feels like to be in a room where you don't have to explain yourself because everyone already knows. And why the women who heal fastest are never the ones who trY hardest; they're the ones who stopped trying to do it alone.Healing after divorce takes so much longer without the right people around you. Some women never fully heal at all.Not because they aren't capable. Because they tried to do something alone that was never meant to be done that way. Join me for my free masterclass — Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever?Register here: 👉 Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever? 🔥 Episode 96: What Dolly Saw
What Dolly Saw - And What I See in YouThe world lost Dolly Parton this week. And I couldn't let this moment pass without talking about what she meant, not just as an icon, but as a woman who spent her entire life doing one extraordinary thing. She saw possibility in people. In children who didn't have books. In employees at a theme park in Tennessee. In anyone who crossed her path. She didn't see who they were performing or who they were trying to be. She saw the real version. The best version. The one hiding underneath everything the world had piled on top of them. And because she saw it, they became it.This episode is about that gift. And about what possibility after divorce actually looks like when someone finally sees it in you.I went to Dollywood for the first time this year. And I want to tell you what I notice, because it stopped me cold and made me think about everything I do inside the FIERCE Sisterhood. We also talk about the women who walk into the Sisterhood dragging their dreams behind them in a box that's been taped shut and padlocked. Who come in brokenhearted and broken in the bank account and convinced that the life they want belongs to someone else. And what happens when someone finally sees them.Really sees them.Possibility after divorce is real. It's specific. And it's been waiting inside that box the whole time. Join me for my free masterclass — Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever?Register here: 👉 Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever? 🔥 Episode 95: Rebuilding Identity After Divorce. The Ripple Effect of Who You Choose to Become
Every choice you make right now is sending a ripple.Into your children, your grandchildren, your friends, and all of your relationships. And the ripple doesn't wait for you to be ready. It doesn't ask for your permission. It just moves. In this episode we're talking about the two very different legacies available to every woman who is rebuilding her identity after divorce. The legacy of the woman who never came back. And the legacy of the woman who became more herself than she had ever been inside the marriage. Both are possible. You get to choose which one you leave. We talk about what actually separates those two legacies, and it isn't time, and it isn't strength. It's identity. Specifically whether you find your way back to the woman who got buried under years of shrinking, silencing, giving up her voice, her dreams and her imagination to make room for everyone else.Because here's what divorce reveals that most women don't see until someone names it for them. She isn't gone. She is buried. And rebuilding your identity after divorce, really rebuilding it, not just surviving, is the work of unburying her. That work changes everything. Not just for you. For everyone watching you do it. Join me for my free masterclass — Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever?Register here: 👉 Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever? 🔥 Episode 94: Why Is My Life So Hard? What the Highest Highs and Lowest Lows Taught Me About Being Alive After Divorce
This summer I was in the room when my daughter got the call that she was accepted to medical school. And I was also the one who had to tell my other daughter that her best friend had been killed in a car accident on his way to our house. One moment she was laughing and waiting for him to walk through the door. The next, life was changed forever. In between those two moments I was floating on a sailboat in the Adriatic Sea, witnessing the most beautiful, clear water I've ever seen. The highest highs and the lowest lows. At the same time. With no pause in between. And if you have ever looked at your life and thought, why is this SO HARD? This episode is for you.Because here's what I know now that I didn't know before coaching.Life is not happening to you.It is happening. And you get to choose how you meet it.In this episode I'm getting real about what this summer actually looked like, the grief, the joy, the beauty, the devastation, and what coaching taught me about how to hold all of it without being destroyed by any of it.We also talk about something nobody says out loud enough. Coaching is not better than therapy. But it is different. And if you have been using therapy as your only tool and wondering why you're still stuck, this episode might be the most important thing you listen to today.Your life is not too hard. You are just missing some skills. And those skills change everything. 🔥 Episode 93 : Sara Fisk on Communication After Divorce - How to Say What You Mean and Finally Get What You Want
Most women know what they want to say; they struggle with feeling safe enough to say it.If that sounds like you, keep reading! In this episode I'm joined by Sara Fisk, host of the Ex Good-Girl podcast and Life Coach for women who can handle anything- except asking for what they want. Find Sara by clicking on either of the links above or take her free course by clicking right here.Today, we're talking conflict resolution and having a conversation that goes so much deeper than how to avoid an argument. We're talking about why communication after divorce feels so hard, where that struggle actually comes from, and what it costs you when you keep swallowing what you really want to say.Sara reframes conflict, saying that it is not the enemy of connection. It is the door to it.We also cover why women were conditioned from childhood to keep their needs small and how that conditioning shows up in every relationship after divorce. Sara explains why feeling safe enough to speak up is not a personality type, it is a skill you can learn, and how making decisions from love instead of fear changes everything about how you show up in conflict.Plus Sarah shares tools that you can use now to get started. If you've ever swallowed what you really wanted to say, in your marriage, in your friendships, with your kids, this episode is for you.And if you want to go even deeper, Sarah is coming inside the FIERCE Sisterhood to lead a live workshop. 🔥 Episode 92: Finding Purpose After Divorce - Why Living a Life You Love Is the Most Generous Thing You Can Do
What if finding purpose after divorce doesn't start with a plan? What if it really starts with permission to put yourself first? In this episode we're dismantling the belief that has kept women small for decades: ❌ Putting yourself first is selfish❌ A good woman goes last❌ Wanting things for yourself is dangerous. These beliefs cost you your joy and your impact. The woman who is running on empty after divorce isn't giving anyone her best. She's giving them her leftovers. And finding purpose after divorce is impossible from that place. Here's what we cover:✅ Why self-sacrifice can become an identity instead of a choice, and what your divorce may have revealed about the cost of that. ✅ What actually happens when you decide to go first, and the ripple effect that goes so much further than you can see right now. ✅ Why finding purpose after divorce only becomes visible on the other side of the work. ✅ And the one question you cannot fully answer yet, but will, when you stop surviving and start living.Because the impact you're meant to make after divorce? It's real. It's specific. It's yours. And it has been waiting for you to go first. Join me for my free masterclass — Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever?Register here: 👉 Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever? 🔥 Episode 91: The Most Toxic Relationship After Divorce Isn't With a Man - It's With This
Are you waiting to move forward after divorce?Waiting until life settles down. Until you have more money. Until you have it figured out. Until you feel ready. It sounds so reasonable. So responsible. So safe. But what if waiting is actually the most toxic relationship you've been in since your marriage ended? In this episode we're breaking up with waiting and talking honestly about why moving forward after divorce has nothing to do with perfect timing and everything to do with one decision. We cover why waiting feels like wisdom but costs you everything. Why the things you're waiting for are actually on the other side of the decision, not before it. Why the equation most women are using to move forward after divorce is completely backwards. And what is actually happening on the other side of the waiting room while you're still sitting in it.Because here's what I know about the women who are moving forward after divorce right now. They didn't wait until they felt ready. They walked through the door anyway. And their lives look completely different because of it.Not one woman who has ever done that has looked back and said, "I'm glad I waited."Not one.Your life is ready for you right now.The only question is whether you're ready to stop waiting for it. 🔥 Episode 90: How to Rebuild Self Trust After Divorce and Empty Nest (Replay)
After divorce, one of the most devastating losses isn't the marriage. It's trust in yourself."I chose wrong." "I stayed too long." "How did I miss the signs?"Your brain uses the divorce as evidence that your judgment can't be trusted. And when you don't trust yourself, you can't make decisions. About dating. About your career. About your life. You stay stuck, reactive, and waiting for someone else to tell you what to do.In this episode replay, I'm introducing something called the Trust Fund. Not money. Evidence.Concrete, specific, undeniable proof that you are someone who can be trusted. That your judgment is sound. That you know yourself. And that one wrong choice does not define your ability to choose well.Because rebuilding self trust after divorce isn't something that just happens with time. It's something you build. Deposit by deposit. Decision by decision. Until one day you realize, I've got this. And I don't even need the evidence anymore. We cover why divorce shatters self trust so completely and what that costs you across every area of your life. How to start making deposits into your own Trust Fund today. And why rebuilding self trust after divorce happens faster — much faster — when you don't do it alone.Because some evidence you simply cannot see in yourself. But the right community can see it for you. 🔥 Ep 89: You Are Free to Choose After Divorce and Empty Nest
Do you ever feel like your life is something you're surviving instead of choosing? Like you're handling everything, showing up, getting through the days and still somehow feel completely trapped? There's a reason for that. Most women, a year or two past divorce, are living inside a gap they don't even know is there. They're replaying the same painful thoughts on a loop. They're waiting — for the right time, the right feeling, permission that never comes — before they let themselves do anything new. And they're surrounded by the same people, spaces, and patterns that were built around a life that no longer exists. Here's what they don't realize: none of that is a life sentence. Every bit of it is a choice. They just forgot they were allowed to make it.In this episode of Better Because of Divorce, host and certified life coach Julie Steed reveals the three specific places where you are free to choose — starting today — and why choosing in each one matters so much at exactly this point in your life. This is the difference between a woman who is surviving her life and a woman who is building one.If this episode speaks to something in you, if you felt something wake up at the idea that you are free to choose, Julie shares exactly how to take the next step. You don't have to do this alone. And the very first choice you get to make is deciding not to. Episode 87: The Four Words Costing You More Than Money After Divorce and Empty Nest
"I can't afford it." Four little words that sound completely reasonable. Four words nobody ever pushes back on. Four words that end the conversation every single time. And sometimes they're simply true. But a lot of the time, those four words are hiding something much deeper. In this episode of Better Because of Divorce, host and certified life coach Julie Steed unpacks what often lives underneath "I can't afford it." And it's almost never really about money. It's about risk. It's a quiet, deep lack of trust that if you take a chance and it goes sideways, if you get hurt again, you won't be able to handle it.Julie is careful to honor the truth that sometimes the money genuinely isn't there, and there's no shame in that. But for many women, "I can't afford it" has become a socially acceptable cover for fear, and that fear doesn't just cost you one decision. It costs you everywhere. The trip you didn't take. The job you didn't apply for. The date you didn't say yes to. The second chance at love you talked yourself out of.You'll also meet the two kinds of women who stand at the same threshold: one who moves through the fear and one who lets it decide for her. And you'll hear what becomes possible on the other side of "yes," through the real stories of women who started exactly where you are.The story underneath "I can't afford it" has been quietly writing your life — closing doors you never even noticed closing. But once you can see it, you can choose differently. Join me for my free masterclass — Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever?Register here: 👉 Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever? 🔥 Episode 86: Stop Healing and Start Living: The Trap Keeping You Stuck After Divorce
You're doing everything right. Therapy. Journaling. Talking it out with friends who understand. You are healing, and you have been for a long time.So why do you still feel stuck? In this episode of Better Because of Divorce, host and certified life coach Julie Steed shares the hard truth she learned the slow way after her own divorce: that healing can quietly become a trap. A place to hide. Something that feels like progress while you never actually step toward the life you want.Julie opens up about the cycle of healing she lived, crying her way to work, performing through the day, commiserating with friends at night, and calling all of it healing, while taking zero action toward a life that was actually hers. Then she shares the story of a client who had a whole community around her but couldn't trust herself to make a single decision without their approval, and what finally changed. You'll also learn the research-backed reason your brain keeps you stuck, and once you understand how it works, you'll never see your avoidance the same way again. You do not have to wait until you feel healed to start loving your life. Living is the healing. And the longer you wait, the more it costs you. Join me for my free masterclass — Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever?Register here: 👉 Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever? 🔥 Episode 85: Stop Reacting and Start Building: How to Take Control of Your Life After Divorce
For decades, I reacted to my life. I thought I had a temper. I thought that was just who I was.The truth was harder and simpler than that. I had never learned how to manage or process my emotions. And everyone around me lived inside the fallout. My marriage was an emotional minefield. My ex and my daughters navigated the unpredictability. And I believed it was simply my personality.Today my life looks completely different. My relationship with my daughters is stronger than ever. My ex and I are amicable. And I am in a relationship built on safety and reciprocity instead of emotional charge. I went from an emotional minefield in my marriage to emotional safety in my own life, and not one bit of it came from my circumstances changing. It came from one shift inside myself. In this episode, I break down the difference between reacting to your life and building it, and why, after divorce, reacting feels like the only option you have. I explain the space that exists between what happens and how you respond, why reacting digs the hole deeper, and why intention is the only stairway out.I'll also share why you can't just decide to be less reactive. When I changed, every relationship in my life changed with me. The same is possible for you, and it starts with seeing where you're reacting and where you're building. 🔥 Episode 84: Divorce Didn't Destroy Your Self Confidence, This Did
So many women tell me that one of the biggest hurdles after divorce is the loss of self confidence. The inability to trust themselves. The feeling that the woman they used to be — capable, certain, grounded — somehow disappeared along with the marriage. But here is what I want you to consider. Divorce didn't take your self confidence. Something else did. And in this episode of Better Because of Divorce, host and certified divorce life coach Julie Steed breaks down exactly what that is and why understanding it so important. When you know what actually happened to your confidence, you stop waiting for circumstances to change before you can get it back. You start to see that it was never really gone. It was just buried. And you already have everything you need to find it again.Julie shares the real definition of self confidence, why you likely have more of it than you think, and what it looks like when a woman does the work to rebuild it, including the story of a client who went from one text from her ex derailing her entire day to leading a travel group through Croatia.Your confidence is still there. It is waiting for you to come find it. Join me for my free masterclass — Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever?Register here: 👉 Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever? 🔥 Episode 83: Dirty Fuel - Are You Building Your New Life for You or for Them?
After divorce, something powerful happens. Women get moving. They lose weight, start businesses, start dating, build something new. The results are real. The progress is real. The accomplishments are genuinely theirs. But sometimes the fuel behind all of that action has nothing to do with them.In this episode of Better Because of Divorce, host and certified divorce life coach Julie Steed introduces a concept she calls dirty fuel - when you take real action and achieve real results, but the catalyst behind everything you are doing is anger, resentment, hurt, or the desire to impact someone else instead of genuinely benefit yourself.Dirty fuel works. That is what makes it so complicated. It gets you out of bed. It builds things. It produces outcomes you are proud of. But it keeps you tethered to the very person and the very pain you are trying to move past. And at some point, dirty fuel stops being the thing that moves you forward and starts being the thing keeping you stuck. This episode is not about shame. It is about one of the most honest conversations you can have with yourself about what is really driving you and what becomes possible when you convert that fuel to something cleaner. You did not go through all of this just to keep running a race with someone else's finish line. There is a version of everything you are building that is entirely, completely, quietly yours. And that version is worth fighting for. 🔥 Episode 82: When Ok is Not Ok: Why Strong Women Get Stuck After Divorce
Strong independent women are really good at okay. And from the outside, okay looks like enough, but it's really survival mode in disguise. In this episode of Better Because of Divorce, host and certified divorce life coach Julie Steed makes the case that okay, as hard as you worked to get there, is not the goal. It is not healing. And it is not anywhere close to the life you actually deserve.Okay has a therapist. Okay has friends. Okay has a support system and a routine and a life that functions. And none of that is the same as having the tools to build a life that is authentically, fully, unapologetically yours. In this episode Julie breaks down the three hidden costs of staying in okay, and why the longer you stay there, the further you get from the woman you are becoming. You did not survive your divorce just to spend the rest of your life managing it. There is so much more available to you than okay. And it starts with being willing to admit that okay is not enough. 🔥 Episode 81: Three Questions That Will Help You Meet Yourself After Divorce
After divorce, staying busy feels like strength. A full schedule, a packed calendar, falling into bed exhausted every night. It looks like resilience. It looks like keeping it together. But busyness is one of the most socially acceptable ways to avoid feeling anything at all. And if you have been moving nonstop since your divorce, there is a very good chance you have been outrunning yourself without even knowing it.In this episode, Julie shares her own experience of using busyness as armor and why she now knows that surviving is not the same as living. The only way to find out who you are on the other side of divorce, what you want, what your life is supposed to look like, what you've been carrying, is to get quiet enough to hear yourself. These three questions will help you do exactly that. You cannot scroll your way to a life you love. But you can get quiet enough to hear yourself. And that changes everything.TOPICS: divorce recovery, healing after divorce, finding yourself after divorce, identity after divorce, emotional healing divorce, divorced women, empty nest after divorce, self discovery after divorce, divorce life coach, reconnecting with yourself. 🔥 Episode 79: Show Up Anyway: How to Navigate Your Ex and His New Partner at Family Events After Divorce
One of the hardest situations divorced women face is showing up to a family event — a wedding, a graduation, a birthday party — when your ex is going to be there with his new girlfriend, fiancée or wife. The anxiety starts before you even walk in the door. And for many women, the answer is simply: don't go.But avoidance isn't healing. In this episode of Better Because of Divorce, host and certified divorce life coach Julie Steed shares a raw, personal story from a recent family wedding and breaks down exactly how she navigated it with her dignity, her grace, and her sense of self fully intact.Because here's what Julie wants every divorced woman to hear: when you choose not to show up, she is still controlling your life. You deserve to be in the room. You deserve to take up space in your own family's life. And you can learn how to do that, even when it's hard. Especially when it's hard.If you've been skipping family events, dreading co-parenting milestones, or letting fear of running into your ex's new woman keep you from living your life, this episode will give you the tools, the mindset, and the permission to show up anyway. You don't do this by being the person you've always been. You are somebody new now. And somebody new has to be willing to do things she has never done before. 🔥 Episode 77: What If? The Question That Changes Everything When You're Rebuilding After Divorce
What if the life you actually want is still available to you?Not the life you had before. Not a consolation prize version of it. The real thing. The relationship. The financial freedom. The trips, the work that excites you, the version of yourself you can barely picture right now but can feel somewhere underneath all of this. What if that life is closer than you think? What if?In this episode, I cover:Why women stop dreaming after a long marriage, especially one that ends in betrayal or disappointment, and what that costs them when they're trying to rebuild. The neuroscience behind why your imagination is not a luxury but a neurological necessity when you're rebuilding after divorce. Why you cannot build a life you cannot picture. And how one question, asked out loud even when it feels completely unreasonable, can set off a cascade of events that change everything. One year ago I was employed full time, stretched thin, and the Sisterhood didn't exist.I asked what if.And then I answered it.This episode is your permission slip to do the same. 🔥 Episode 76: Why Playing Isn't Optional When You're Rebuilding After Divorce
What if one of the most powerful tools for healing after divorce wasn't therapy o or journaling or another self-help book? What if it was play?In this episode I'm talking about something that disappears almost immediately when divorce hits — and why getting it back is not optional if you're serious about rebuilding your life.Play is not frivolous. It is not something you earn. It is not something that has to wait until you're on the other side of this.It is medicine. We cover why everything gets serious after divorce and what that seriousness is quietly costing you. The science behind what play actually does to your brain and body during the hardest seasons of life — including how it reduces stress hormones, releases endorphins, and wakes up the part of your brain responsible for imagining your future. Why the number one reason women stop playing after divorce isn't time or money. And why play is not just fun — it's generative. It's where your new life starts to take shape.Plus I'm sharing the story of the best night I've had in years. And why it happened at a high school prom at age 54.Healing after divorce doesn't always look the way you think it does.Sometimes it looks like getting on a pedestal and letting a camera spin around you while you laugh your head off.Register for my free webinar — Peace, Love & Money: How Powerful Women Reclaim Everything After Divorce: [YOUR LINK HERE]Want the Facebook post and promo email for this one? 🔥 Episode 70: The Grief Nobody Talks About After Divorce: Grieving the Family You Still Love

The secondary losses after divorce that nobody prepares you for.Plus three things nobody tells you when you're in the middle of it:✅ Why trying to fix these relationships by shrinking yourself is actually working against you and what your children need from you instead. ✅ Why family isn't always blood and why you don't beg anyone to be in your life, no matter who they are. ✅ Why the most powerful thing you can do for every relationship in your life right now is to invest in yourself.Includes a three-question audit to help you see clearly how you've been showing up in the relationships you're grieving — and what to do differently. Do you feel like you're in an identity free-fall after divorce? If so, you want to hear this episode where Julie introduces Ali Ryan, the newest member of Team FIERCE. Ali is an integrative coach and yoga teacher who specializes in trauma-informed somatic and relational frameworks. Her work supports safety, self-trust, and spacious possibility with practical presence and real-time support. In this episode, Ali shares her own journey from being highly functional on the outside while deeply disconnected on the inside—doing everything "right" yet finding herself at the bottom of the well after her second divorce. She opens up about the moment her old blueprints cracked and how that became her entry point to discovering that she'd always been worthy and lovable without needing to earn it.The conversation explores why so many accomplished women find themselves in an "identity free fall" after divorce, reaching for things like shopping and Starbucks to numb the pain rather than heal it. Ali explains how our brains are wired (we're only aware of 5% of our thought processes) and why traditional thought work, while important, isn't enough to create lasting transformation without nervous system regulation and somatic healing.Julie and Ali discuss the power of removing masks, releasing binary thinking (stay or suffer, selfless or selfish), and what becomes possible when women create safety within themselves first. They explore the ripple effect of investing in yourself—not just for you, but for your children, your friendships, and everyone watching how you navigate this threshold. The episode closes with a powerful reminder that grief can crack you open to who you really are in your essence, and that standing on this threshold isn't a loss—it's an invitation to something so much more.Ali Ryan is a trauma-informed mentor and clinical leader disrupting the "hustle" narrative for the multi-hyphenate woman. Having navigated the complexities of coming out in her 30s, raising three neurodivergent children, and weathering two divorces, Ali has mastered the art of becoming the wave—finding her rhythm in the free-fall and turning the descent into a flow.By integrating the precision of neuroscience with the soul of yogic philosophy, Ali created the HEART Framework. Her work goes beyond mindset, diving into deep somatic healing, parts work, and the intersections of our socialization to reclaim the body’s natural intelligence. Through biological cycle-syncing and nervous system regulation, she helps those ready to stop waiting for a rescue to start architecting their own sovereign flow.Ali lives in the beautiful tension between clinical excellence and artistic messiness, teaching others how to stay integrated and whole while their life is in motion.Connect with Ali:Instagram: www.instragram.com/ali_ryan____FB: https://www.facebook.com/AliRyan222/[email protected] Join me for my free masterclass — Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever?Register here: 👉 Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever? 🔥 Episode 67: You're Not Going Backwards - You're Spiraling Upward
You're doing well, making progress - and then a trigger hits and the pain floods back. You think: "I'm going backwards. I'm failing. I haven't healed at all."But what if you're not sliding backwards - you're spiraling upward.Julie dismantles the lie of linear healing and introduces the truth: healing is loopy, not a straight line. Think about the shape of a loop - it goes forward, curves back, then swoops up. Then backwards again, then swoops higher. From above it looks like you're retracing the same ground, but from the side you can see you're moving UPWARD.When a trigger comes back, it's not evidence you haven't healed - it's evidence you're ready to heal at a deeper level. You're revisiting so you can process the next layer. The fact that it came back up means you're strong enough now to handle it.Time Alone Doesn't Heal: You can be five years out and still stuck, still triggered, still suffering - if you haven't done the work. Or you can be in the divorce process or just a few months out and spiraling upward - because you're actively healing. The difference isn't time. It's the work. When you do the work, the spiral moves upward. When you don't, you just spin in the same place. Why the Sisterhood Accelerates Healing:In community, things happen that don't happen in isolation:Other women see evidence of your spiral upward that you can't see ("Remember last time? Look how differently you're handling it now")You get tools and support for processing each layerYou don't have to figure out "the work" alone - we're doing it togetherSomeone reminds you you're spiraling up when you feel like you're going backwardsCoaches guide you through each loopYou have accountability to do the work instead of just waitingYou see other women healing in spirals too - it normalizes your processThe spiral moves faster because you're not doing it alone Join me for my free masterclass — Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever?Register here: 👉 Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever? 🔥 Episode 66: When You're Not Enough
Ready to stop white-knuckling through "I'm enough" affirmations and start doing the deeper work? Learn more about the FIERCE Sisterhood - a community of divorced empty nesters who are willing to sit in discomfort, pull the thread on "not enough" thoughts, and create physiological safety while building authentic transformation. Email SISTERHOOD to [email protected] for information.About This EpisodeIn this unscripted episode, Julie breaks from her usual format to share a personal discovery about insecurity and perfectionism. After noticing herself spinning over seemingly simple issues, she realized she was struggling with feelings of not being "enough"—particularly around launching the FIERCE Sisterhood. This vulnerability mirrors what many women in the Sisterhood are experiencing, as reflected in their daily FIERCE Accelerator sheets where thoughts like "I'm not good enough," "I'm not worthy," and "I'm not capable" keep showing up.What You'll LearnThe Gap Between Knowing and BelievingWhy we can logically know we're enough while our bodies don't quite believe it yetHow this creates white-knuckling and willpower instead of true transformationThe difference between positive thinking and deep, authentic growthThree Essential Steps to Transform "Not Enough" ThoughtsExplore with Curiosity - Stop long enough to investigate the discomfort, sit with the emotions, and ask what the thought needs from youPull the Thread - Trace back where these beliefs originated—ex-spouse dynamics, societal standards, past experiences—and see how they've woven through your lifeCreate Physiological Safety - Use breath and affirmation to remind your nervous system that it's safe to believe you're enough, even when old patterns resurfaceWhy This Work Matters Julie explains how flipping a negative thought to a positive one is just the starting point. Real transformation requires investigating the underlying sources, feeling the emotions, and integrating new beliefs into your identity so they become automatic.Perfect ForWomen who recognize they have "not enough" thoughts lurking beneath the surface, those struggling with perfectionism, and anyone ready to do the deeper work beyond positive thinking. 🔥 Episode 65: Building Your Trust Fund
When your marriage ends, it's normal to question everything: "I chose wrong." "I stayed too long." "How did I miss the signs?" Your brain uses the divorce as evidence that you can't trust your own judgment, creating a spiral: "If I was wrong about THAT, what else am I wrong about?"The result? Paralysis. You can't make decisions about dating, career, friendships, or even what car to buy. You either seek constant external validation or retreat completely. Either way, you're stuck, reactive, and powerless.Julie introduces the Trust Fund - not money, but a collection of evidence that you CAN trust yourself. This is about concrete proof: you make good decisions, you know yourself, and you can rely on you. What Happens When You Build Your Trust Fund:You rewire your brain to look for ways you can be trustedYou stop needing external validationYou make decisions faster and with less agonyYou're more confidentYou diminish fear of "wrong" decisionsYou give yourself permission to make mistakes (one mistake doesn't wipe out the fund)You reclaim your powerYou assume the identity of a woman who trusts herselfThe Community Difference: Building your Trust Fund in community makes it grow faster - higher interest rate, bigger balance. Other women reflect evidence back to you that you can't see. Coaches point out proof. Community provides accountability - someone to share deposits with, celebrate with, and help make withdrawals when you're stuck.Key Insight: Self-trust isn't something you either have or don't have - it's something you build, deposit by deposit. Over time, your Trust Fund grows until one day you realize: "I actually DO trust myself. Here's the evidence to prove it. But more importantly, I don't think I need the evidence anymore. I've got this."Call to Action: Join the FIERCE Sisterhood where we build Trust Funds together in community. 🔥 Episode 64: The Power of One Word & The Relief It Brings in Moments
Julie introduces a powerful alternative to New Year's resolutions: choosing ONE WORD to embody throughout 2026. This practice creates laser-sharp focus that blocks out external noise and helps you move forward intentionally rather than reactively. When triggered or facing challenges, you return to your word and ask: "How do I want to respond so it brings [insert YOUR word here] into my life?"Your word becomes the lens for viewing opportunities, relationships, and decisions, helping you say no to what doesn't align and yes to what does. Ready to stop setting resolutions and start choosing growth? Join the FIERCE Sisterhood - a community of divorced empty nesters choosing growth over resolution, learning to find value in today, and discovering that discomfort is actually expansion. Learn more here.Perfect for: Divorced empty nesters tempted to "resolve" their way through discomfort, women tired of failed resolutions, anyone ready to approach their life as growth instead of a series of destinations to reachWhat if New Year's resolutions are setting you up to fail? In this episode, Julie explores a different approach: growth over resolve.Resolute means "firmly determined." Growth means "increasing in value, the process of developing." Which would you rather choose? For divorced empty nesters sitting in discomfort, it's tempting to feel resolved to move through it. But what if there's another way? What if you could grow through the discomfort instead of forcing your way past it?Julie shares three powerful ways to start your year with growth instead of resolutions:3 Ways to Start Your Year:Find Value in Today, Not Results in Tomorrow - What if success isn't about outcomes but about what's valuable in showing up right now, in this moment?See Discomfort as Growth, Not Something to Resolve - Your discomfort isn't a problem to fix - it's information about your expansion. It's the becoming. It's the growth happening right now.Invest in the Process, Not the Destination - Resolutions bet everything on arriving somewhere. Growth invests in who you're becoming along the way.Key Insights:Resolutions require willpower that runs out; growth invites presenceThe discomfort you're feeling isn't a problem - it's information about your expansionWhat you do today is valuable today AND ripples into the futureYou get to choose: forced determination or gentle commitment to your own expansion Join me for my free masterclass — Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever?Register here: 👉 Afraid You'll Be Alone Forever? 🔥 Episode 62: Presence is the Present
About this episode: In this holiday episode, Julie challenges the lie we've all been sold: that living in the present moment is a luxury we can't afford. As divorced empty nesters, we've spent years striving for destinations that don't deliver - the perfect marriage, the successful kids, the material markers of "making it." Yet we still feel empty. Julie reveals why: we're a task-driven society that's never been taught to actually live in the moment.Discover what true presence looks like - being fully involved and fully committed to whatever you've chosen in this moment, recognizing you have choice at every turn. Learn why doing the deep work to know yourself is the only path to happiness and fulfillment (not the new relationship, not the vacation, not the achievement).Julie shares how this understanding transforms everything - from dating after divorce to experiencing that beach vacation at an entirely different level when you don't need it to feel better. 🔥 Episode 61: The Growth Formula
"You can do hard things. But here's what's more accurate: You can FEEL hard things."If you've been avoiding uncomfortable emotions, staying stuck in your comfort zone, or wondering why life feels so dissatisfying after divorce, this episode reveals the formula that changes everything. The truth: We've been conditioned to avoid anything that feels uncomfortable. We're told that discomfort means something is wrong, so we numb, people-please, stay busy, and shrink our lives to avoid feeling. But discomfort isn't bad—it's a sign of transformation and growth. In this episode, Julie shares the exact formula for moving through discomfort to create genuine transformation: Intention → Discomfort → GrowthBetter Because of Divorce application: The two paths (avoid and shrink vs. feel and grow) and how every uncomfortable moment is a choice point.Practical holiday application: Step-by-step example of letting kids celebrate with their dad on Christmas without making them feel guilty—even when it's excruciating. The hard truth: It's almost impossible to do this alone. You need support from trained coaches to move through discomfort effectively. The first time without resources, you'll likely quit. With support, you build the muscle.Ready to stop avoiding discomfort and start transforming through it? The formula is waiting. 🔥 Episode 60: The 3 R's of a Fully Resourced Holiday Season (And Life)
What if the key to thriving isn't about doing more—it's about becoming more resourced? If you're dreading the holidays because divorce and empty nest have left you feeling unprepared or overwhelmed, this episode introduces a framework that will transform not just your holiday season, but your entire life.Being a "fully resourced human" means having all the necessary assets—emotional tools, mental clarity, physical energy, social support, financial ability, and spiritual connection—to function effectively and handle challenges without being limited by scarcity. In this episode, I share the 3 R's framework for becoming fully resourced and creating holidays (and a life) that are real, not performed. When you become fully resourced, your adult children see that growth doesn't mean abandoning everything, traditions can evolve, and becoming who you are doesn't require destroying who you were.Ready to stop surviving and start living at your fullest potential? 🔥 Episode 59 - Deep Self-Care for the Holidays and Beyond
Getting a pedicure isn't self-care—it's grooming. Real self-care looks completely different. If you're dreading the holidays because you know they'll be emotionally difficult, this episode gives you a practical plan for deep self-care that actually sustains you through the season. The reality: The holidays amplify everything—joy, grief, stress, and triggers. Cultural pressure tells us to perform happiness, decorate perfectly, and show up cheerfully. But what if we just can’t do that yet?In this practical episode, I share a 3-step plan for caring deeply for yourself during the holidays—especially if this is your first (or second, or third) holiday season after divorce. Why this matters: Without deep self-care, you survive the holidays—but you don't thrive. This plan helps you show up authentically, enjoy the season, and build trust with yourself. The ripple effect: When you care for yourself deeply, your children see that self-care isn't selfish. You model healthy boundaries. And you create sustainable, peaceful holidays instead of just surviving them.Ready to stop performing and start being present? Your deep self-care plan starts here. That experience led her to specialize in helping moms find peace after estrangement.Key takeaways:Divorce increases estrangement risk at any age—even adult children struggle when their parents' marriage ends after decades.Remarriage can trigger estrangement. Bonny encourages inviting your adult child's input (not permission) before getting serious with someone new. They may see red flags you're missing. Not all distance is estrangement. Young adults are busy building their lives. Don't create problems where none exist.Validation is everything. The most important skill is truly listening to understand your child's perspective without judgment—even when you disagree. This is learned, not natural.Healing without reconciliation is possible. Most estrangements eventually reconcile, but it can take years. In the meantime, build a genuinely happy, peaceful life and be ready if reconciliation comes.Bonny reminds us: adult children want their moms to be happy. Connection comes through listening, validating, and having the self-compassion to acknowledge we did some great things as moms AND some not-so-great things. That's simply being human. 🔥 Episode 57: Why Positive Thinking Doesn't Work - And What to Do Instead
Apply for the Sisterhood here."Just think positive!" "Be grateful!" "Look on the bright side!" We've all heard it—and we've all tried it. But forcing positive thoughts when you're genuinely struggling doesn't work. In fact, it makes things worse. In this episode, you'll learn why false positivity exhausts you, the ladder approach to building authentic thoughts, and how to process emotions so you can create real holiday joy—not fake happiness. What You'll LearnThe Ladder Metaphor: Why Jumping Doesn't Work Trying to jump from "I'm dreading the holidays" to "I'm so excited!" is like trying to hang Christmas lights without a ladder—you'll exhaust yourself and never reach your goal. You need to build a ladder of authentic thoughts and climb one rung at a time. Why False Positivity Makes Things Worse When you force thoughts you don't believe, you create cognitive dissonance, bypass real emotions, shame yourself, exhaust your energy, and disconnect from authentic joy. Your brain knows when you're lying to it—and it rejects false positivity. The Ladder Approach: Building Authentic Thoughts Instead of jumping to positivity, start where you actually are (no judgment, no "shoulds") and build ladder rungs of thoughts that feel TRUE and progressively more helpful. Each rung should feel authentic while moving you slightly toward empowerment and hope.Thought Flipping vs. False Positivity Thought flipping builds awareness—it shows you that your thoughts aren't facts and that you have options. You can use thought flipping to choose your destination (top of the ladder), then build an authentic path to get there. The Missing Piece: Processing Emotions at Each Rung You can't skip emotions—you have to process them at each rung of your ladder. Bring the "bully" (dread, anger, resentment) closer instead of running from it. Feel it, honor it, work through it. Only then can you authentically move to the next rung. 🔥 Episode 56: How to Create CALM During the Holidays (And Everyday)
Calm doesn't just happen—you have to create it on purpose. In this episode, you'll learn a practical 3-step process for creating calm during the holidays (and all year long), even when your ex is difficult, your adult kids change plans, or family dynamics are messy. This is about taking your power back and showing up with intention, no matter what chaos surrounds you. What You'll LearnStep 1: Define What Calm Means to YOU Most people want to be calm but have never defined what that actually means. Get specific about how calm feels in your body, looks in your day, and sounds in your life. You can't create calm if you don't know what you're creating.Step 2: Anticipate What Might Interrupt Your Calm This isn't worrying—it's preparing. Based on history and real information, identify who or what typically disrupts your peace during the holidays. When you anticipate potential disruptions, you stop being blindsided and start being ready.Step 3: Create a Plan and Practice It For every potential disruption, create a specific response plan—then practice it ahead of time. Rehearse what you'll say, how you'll respond, and how you'll maintain your calm. When chaos comes, you'll already know exactly what to do.Key TakeawaysCalm is not about eliminating chaos—it's about knowing how YOU will show up in the middle of itThe difference between worrying and anticipating: worrying obsesses without a plan, anticipating uses what you know to prepareWhen you practice your calm response ahead of time, it becomes automatic in the momentYou don't need perfect circumstances to have calm—you just need intention and a planReady for Support?Join The Fierce Sisterhood where we practice these tools together and you don't have to figure it out alone.
