EP. 74: Differences Between the Prudent & The Simpleton

In this episode of Beyond Just Christian Podcast, Brenna discusses the clear differences between the prudent from the simpleton. Using Solomon as our example, we see how easy it is to choose our way over God’s way though we know exactly what He commands us to do. Despite how knowledgeable we may be, we are still prone to choosing wrongly because we are still sinful human beings. By the end of this episode, Brenna hopes that listeners will continue applying God’s wisdom to their lives, thus continuing to honor Him as wise people. Self-Reflection Questions:Knowing what the Bible says about the simpleton, how have I fallen into any similar tendencies, patterns, and/or behaviors of one?  Write and address how I have turned my heart away from the Lord and rejected personal application of His wisdom. Knowing what the Bible says about the prudent person, how have I demonstrated a prudent-like attitude in my own life? Write and address how I have succeeded with these similar tendencies, patterns, and/or behaviors.Often, we know what we are commanded to do, and we can succeed for a long time before we fall. How can those who are wise and gifted fall into temptations/sinful patterns? Why are we prone to choose our own way although God has already made it clear what is right in His sight? What traits differ from the prudent from the simpleton? Creating your own chart, what are some words/observations you’d use to differentiate the prudent from the simpleton? EX: The Prudent: Considers every available option and prays before acting. The Simpleton: Jumps headfirst without contemplation As prudent people, we are called to have self-awareness and awareness of others around us. How can we be honest in the evaluation of ourselves as we move forward?Scriptures Mentioned1 Kings CH. 41 Kings 11:1-13, 42-43Romans 12:2, 3Proverbs 21:2Proverbs 14:12Proverbs 27:12Proverbs 19:25Proverbs 14:15Proverbs 14:8,18Proverbs 15:241 Thessalonians 5:2Psalm 119:130Proverbs 28:26Proverbs 2:6Ecclesiastes 8:1Proverbs 3:21-23Proverbs 2:1-11  Buy my Bible/Supplies here:1.   Bible: NLT Large-Print Thinline Reference Bible, Filament Enabled Edition--soft leather-look, floral/teal: 9781496444912 - Christianbook.com2.   Highlighters: Aesthetic Highlighters, 8 Pcs, Chisel Tip, Muted Pastel Color, No Blee – Mr. Pen (mrpen.com)3.   Bible Page Tabs: Floral Bible Tabs – The Daily Grace Co.My Fave Websites to Find Studies, Books, Bibles, and Accessories:1.   Christian Books, Bibles, Gifts & more. - Christianbook.com2.   Hosanna Revival | Beautiful Bibles, Prayer Journals, Planners & More3.   Equipping Disciples in the Word – The Daily Grace Co.4.   Home - She Reads Truth -She Reads Truth Listen to My Previous Podcast Episode Here:https://open.spotify.com/episode/0wpWackiDMAxHLFDtNIYMw?si=f7d0ccb7e8c34687 Where to Stream My Podcast:SpotifyAnchorApple PodcastsBreakerCastboxGoogle Podcasts OvercastPocket CastsRadio PublicStitcher  Follow Me on LinkTree:https://linktr.ee/brennacovelens Read My Published Article Here:Does God Really Know Me? Ep. 62: Do My Efforts Bear Fruit?

In this episode of Beyond Just Christian Podcast, Brenna dives into the parable of the barren fig tree. Found in Luke 13:6-9, this short passage presents to us the story of a man who is frustrated when he doesn’t see the fruit of his labor. Sound familiar? Similar to how the man felt, we may be prone to easily give up or be quick to assume our efforts are useless. By the end of this episode, Brenna hopes that listeners will decide if it’s wise to quit or continue their efforts.     Scriptures Mentioned: Luke 13:6-9 Hebrews 11:1 Psalm 128: 1-2 John 15:1-7 2 Corinthians 5:7 Ecclesiastes 5:18-20 Ecclesiastes 2:24-25 Ecclesiastes 3:9-13 1 Corinthians 3:7 Self-Reflection Questions: 1. How often am I disappointed when I don’t see the development and/or advancement from what I want I’ve put my time and efforts into? How do I overcome these feelings of disappointment when I don’t see anything happening? 2. It helps to have another helping hand with achieving our goals, whether it’s a project, a dream, or any kind of growth in our lives. Just as the gardener was the helper of this man’s project, who in my life supports me? How does God support me? 3. How does waiting test my patience/trust in the Lord for His intervention? How is waiting beneficial for my own growth? 4. Why is it important for us to continue working while we wait? 5. How do I know if it’s the appropriate time to cut the tree down or to give my efforts one more chance. Are there any examples in my life where God has commanded me to continue or to discontinue my efforts with something? 6. What is the barren fig tree in my currently? Write down your specific goals, projects, dreams, and/or fruits you are waiting to see grow.   Buy my Bible/Supplies here: 1.    Bible: NLT Large-Print Thinline Reference Bible, Filament Enabled Edition--soft leather-look, floral/teal: 9781496444912 - Christianbook.com 2.    Highlighters: Aesthetic Highlighters, 8 Pcs, Chisel Tip, Muted Pastel Color, No Blee – Mr. Pen (mrpen.com) 3.    Bible Page Tabs: Floral Bible Tabs – The Daily Grace Co.     My Fave Websites to Find Studies, Books, Bibles, and Accessories: 1.    Christian Books, Bibles, Gifts & more. - Christianbook.com 2.    Hosanna Revival | Beautiful Bibles, Prayer Journals, Planners & More 3.    Equipping Disciples in the Word – The Daily Grace Co. 4.    Home - She Reads Truth -She Reads Truth   Listen to My Previous Podcast Episode Here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/1CtSnBVaWfDRt0dyxZGrhx?si=49c8ba2fd10c45d1   Where to Stream My Podcast: Spotify Anchor Apple Podcasts Breaker Castbox Google Podcasts Overcast Pocket Casts Radio Public Stitcher   Read My Article Here about Rest: The right balance renews passion - Love Is Moving

EP. 61: 7 Ways to Seek God

In this episode of Beyond Just Christian Podcast, Brenna dives into the seven ways listeners can seek God. Often, it’s easy to feel frustrated and discouraged when we feel that God cannot be found. Yet through Scripture, He reminds us that He would not have told His people to seek Him if He couldn’t be. That leads us to the question of, “So why can we not find Him?” The answer might be that we don’t know how to approach the Lord in a genuine and/or God-focused manner. By the end of this episode, Brenna hopes that listeners will know how to reach the Lord effectively. Whatever our hindrance may be in finding Him, the Lord reminds us that He can be found, and He isn’t far from His people.     Scriptures Mentioned: Isaiah 45:19 John 3:30 Hebrews 10:22 Psalm 63:1 Deuteronomy 4:29 Jeremiah 29:13 Hebrews 11:6 Proverbs 8:17 Psalm 143:8 Psalm 5:3 Psalm 63:1 Mark 1:35 1 Chronicles 16:11 Matthew 6:33 Isaiah 44:6 Isaiah 55:6 Luke 13:22-29 Psalm 34:10 2 Chronicles 6:18 Psalm 139:7   Self-Reflection Questions: Why have I failed to find/meet God previously? What obstacles do I think were in my way? How do I feel when I believe that God cannot be found? Do I continue to try to find Him or give up in frustration? Have I ever tried to seek Him in ways that were unhealthy, demanding, and or/self-centered? How do I authentically seek God’s presence sincerely, earnestly, whole-heartedly, diligently, early, continually, and firstly in my daily life? Do I miss Him when I don’t seek Him often? How do I feel when I don’t have time together with Him? Am I ready to put the Lord first once I find Him? Am I able to put Him above myself?     Buy my Bible/Supplies here: 1.    Bible: NLT Large-Print Thinline Reference Bible, Filament Enabled Edition--soft leather-look, floral/teal: 9781496444912 - Christianbook.com 2.    Highlighters: Aesthetic Highlighters, 8 Pcs, Chisel Tip, Muted Pastel Color, No Blee – Mr. Pen (mrpen.com) 3.    Bible Page Tabs: Floral Bible Tabs – The Daily Grace Co.     My Fave Websites to Find Studies, Books, Bibles, and Accessories: 1.    Christian Books, Bibles, Gifts & more. - Christianbook.com 2.    Hosanna Revival | Beautiful Bibles, Prayer Journals, Planners & More 3.    Equipping Disciples in the Word – The Daily Grace Co. 4.    Home - She Reads Truth -She Reads Truth     Listen to My Previous Podcast Episode Here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/13Zsz0x6LNmx7CudKtPcGw?si=50157bb940494975     Where to Stream My Podcast: Spotify Anchor Apple Podcasts Breaker Castbox Google Podcasts Overcast Pocket Casts Radio Public Stitcher   Read My Most Published Article Here: A cleansing process - Love Is Moving

EP. 56: Standards of a Proverbs 31 Woman

In this episode of Beyond Just Christian Podcast, Brenna discusses how the virtues and standards of a Proverbs 31 woman are not acquired once a woman becomes a wife. Rather, these virtues start before a serious relationship and are developed over time. Whether or not we want to be wives in the future, we must first be virtuous and capable women of God where we’re at now. Brenna challenges her listeners to ask themselves this big question: Do you meet your own standards as a Proverbs 31 woman?   Scriptures Mentioned: Proverbs 31:10-31 Galatians 5:22-25 1 Corinthians 13:4-7   Self-Reflection Questions: What standards do I want to set for myself having while both single and in a serious relationship? Which traits, characteristics, and strengths can I better work on in myself that I want to better develop over time? What do I need to be grounded in, rooted in, and doing continually that’s beneficial to my maturity and growth as a woman? What habits do I need to keep in order to meet my own standards? Who in the Bible is a great example of a Proverbs 31 woman? Name 1-3 women and write down what makes them known as virtuous and capable. According to Galatians 5:22-25, what fruits of the Spirit do I think I need to work on? What fruits of the Spirit am I exhibiting well currently? According to 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, how can I better love and serve others? What parts of this passage am I exhibiting well currently? What’s my standard/expectation for a future man? What values, characteristics, and habits do we need to have in common? How can I set aside the presumption/impression that a Proverbs 31 woman is a married woman? Ep. 55: Weep & Repent

Episode Description: In this episode of Beyond Just Christian Podcast, Brenna reads Scripture from the book of Joel. Although Joel consists of three chapters, it touches on the importance of what true repentance looks like. As we learn from today’s episode, repentance is more than asking for forgiveness. It’s also ensuring that our sin is corrected in the future. Correcting our sin means changing our minds about our sin. Yes, we should acknowledge the repercussions of our sin and ask for forgiveness, but the whole point is to change our mind about our sin. Once our mind is changed, our actions change.     Memory Verse: Joel 2:12-13: “That is why the Lord says, ‘Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief but tear your hearts instead. Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.’”     Study Questions: • Are there any cross-reference verses related to other verses throughout Scripture? Do certain verses make you think of other Scriptures throughout the Bible? If so, what are they? • What are some words you don’t know the definitions of? Look them up. • Who did God call out in the book of Joel? • What were the recipients of God’s warning told to do in response to this warning/message? • How were both people and beast affected by the plague/famine? • What does God say about His own character/heart? • How is God full of both justice/vengeance and mercy/compassion? • What does the day of the Lord look like? • What does this book say about God’s heavenly army? • In Joel 2:19-27, why are the people told to rejoice? • What are the events that God predicted would happen? • Who is He displaying His vengeance against? • What does God guarantee in Joel Ch. 3 verses 20-21? • What does the book of Joel teach me personally? How can I feel true sorrow for what I’ve done and repent full-heartedly for my sins?   Scriptures Mentioned: Joel Ch’s 1-3   Buy my Bible/Supplies here: 1.     Bible: https://www.christianbook.com/nlt-thinline-reference-filament-enabled-edition/9781496444912/pd/6444912?event=ESRCG 2.     Highlighters: https://mrpen.com/products/aesthetic-highlighters-8-pcs-chisel-tip-muted-pastel-color-no-bleed-pastel-highlighter-set-bible-highlighter 3.     Bible Page Tabs: https://thedailygraceco.com/products/floral-bible-tabs     My Fave Websites to Find Studies, Books, Bibles, and Accessories: 1.     https://www.christianbook.com/?utm_source=bing&kw=christianbook&mt=e&dv=c&event=PPCSRC&p=1165909&cb_src=bing&cb_typ=search&cb_cmp=70217451&cb_adg=509378123&cb_kyw=christianbook&snav=BSEARCH&msclkid=8d33a6216ffd1de13a2ec0f62135e5f1&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Brand%20CBD&utm_term=christianbook&utm_content=christianbook.com 2.     https://hosannarevival.com/ 3.     https://thedailygraceco.com/ 4.     https://shereadstruth.com/   Listen to My Worship Playlist Here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6vRsqE9FgwXg00HXpYPjog?si=a5799d664c11436c     Listen to My Previous Podcast Episode Here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/1PSXjou9yoXpODXoZq1VTR?si=0e6db11870a147e1     Where to Stream My Podcast: • Spotify • Anchor • Apple Podcasts • Breaker • Castbox • Google Podcasts • Overcast • Pocket Casts • Radio Public • Stitcher   Read My Most Recently Published Article Here: https://beinnotof.com/post/godknowsme

In this episode of Beyond Just Christian Podcast, Brenna teaches a message focused on the human heart. Using the book of Psalms as her reference, she compares the differences between the wicked heart from the good heart. Based on her findings, she highlights the fact that the heart impacts all we do. This includes how we treat others, how we see ourselves, and most importantly, how we view God. Reviewing the five lessons she learned during her own Bible study time, Brenna hopes listeners will better understand how God views our hearts and note how our actions are impacted by them. Self-Reflection Questions: How does God respond to the human heart? What’s the difference between a believer’s heart versus a nonbeliever’s heart? Or from the wicked of heart versus the pure of heart? How does grief, anger, hate, joy (etc.) affect the condition of the human heart? How can we guard our hearts against the negative things that impact our well-being? How do the conditions of our hearts impact our thoughts, actions, desires, and words? What is the condition of my heart currently? What has this episode taught me about God’s own heart/insight about our hearts? Scriptures Mentioned: Luke 6:45 Psalm 6:3 Psalm 38:8 Psalm 38:10 Psalm 42:4 Psalm 42:5, 42:11, 43 Psalm 61:2 Psalm 55:4 Psalm 62:4 Psalm 69:20 Psalm 73:21 Psalm 73:13 Psalm 89:50 Psalm 102:4 Psalm 73:26 Psalm 7:9b Psalm 17:3 Psalm 19:12 Psalm 26:2 Psalm 33:15 Psalm 44:21 Psalm 139:1 Psalm 139:23 Psalm 14:1 Psalm 28:3 Psalm 36:1 Psalm 37:15 Psalm 53:1 Psalm 64:6 Psalm 78:8 Psalm 78:37 Psalm 78:40 Psalm 95:8 Psalm 95:10 Psalm 24:4-5 Psalm 32:11 Psalm 57:7-8 Psalm 19:8 Psalm 36:10 Psalm 40:8 Psalm 73:1 Psalm 108:1 Psalm 119:2 Psalm 119:34 Psalm 125:4 Psalm 51:10 Psalm 51:17 Psalm 86:11-12 Psalm 107:42-43 Psalm 119:111 Matthew 5:8 1 Samuel 16:7 Jeremiah 17:9  Proverbs 21:2 Deuteronomy 6:5 Proverbs 4:23 Hebrews 4:12     Buy my Bible/Supplies here: 1.    Bible: NLT Large-Print Thinline Reference Bible, Filament Enabled Edition--soft leather-look, floral/teal: 9781496444912 - Christianbook.com 2.    Highlighters: Aesthetic Highlighters, 8 Pcs, Chisel Tip, Muted Pastel Color, No Blee – Mr. Pen (mrpen.com) 3.    Bible Page Tabs: Floral Bible Tabs – The Daily Grace Co.   My Fave Websites to Find Studies, Books, Bibles, and Accessories: 1.    Christian Books, Bibles, Gifts & more. - Christianbook.com 2.    Hosanna Revival | Beautiful Bibles, Prayer Journals, Planners & More 3.    Equipping Disciples in the Word – The Daily Grace Co. 4.    Home - She Reads Truth -She Reads Truth   Listen to My Worship Playlist Here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6vRsqE9FgwXg00HXpYPjog?si=a5799d664c11436c Listen to My Previous Podcast Episode Here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/1JYAnEkLxynqWnFoph8AXi?si=badf4a7dcae0416c   Where to Stream My Podcast: Spotify Anchor Apple Podcasts Breaker Castbox Google Podcasts Overcast Pocket Casts Radio Public Stitcher   Read My Most Recently Published Article Here: Does God Really Know Me? Ep. 53: Three Encouraging Reminders for Walking into a New Season

In this episode of Beyond Just Christian Podcast, Brenna gets vulnerable and allows listeners to know where she’s walked the last ten months. Inspired by walking through her own situations and life changes, Brenna provides three encouraging reminders for those who are stepping into a new season themselves: · God’s timing is perfect. · God is before me and behind me. · God is the provider of all my needs. Brenna reminds listeners that venturing into the unknown future can be both thrilling and/or overwhelming. Whether listeners are eagerly anticipating and prepared for a new season or feeling apprehensive and unprepared, Brenna hopes to remind them that the Lord is faithful to lead them to and through this journey.   Self-Reflection Questions: 1. Where in Scripture have I seen God accomplish what He said He would? Are there specific stories that come to mind? 2. What does it mean that God is before me and behind me? 3. Where in my life do I want the Lord to provide?  What are my current needs? 4. What am I hopeful for in this new season? 5. What am I hesitant about in this new season? 6. How has God brought me through previous seasons? 7. What have I learned about God and His faithfulness from this episode?   Scriptures Mentioned: Isaiah 43:19 Ecclesiastes 3:11 Ecclesiastes 8:17 Psalm 18:30 Isaiah 49:8-10 Romans 5:6 2 Corinthians 6:2 Hebrews 2:3 1 Timothy 6:15 2 Peter 3:8-9 Isaiah 60:21-22 Romans 8: 38-39 Psalm 136:1-3 Proverbs 15:3 Jeremiah 23:23-24 Hebrews 4:13 Isaiah 45:12 Deuteronomy 31:8 Isaiah 46:9-10 Joshua 1:9 Psalm 121:8 Psalm 139:5 Deuteronomy 4:39 Genesis 22:14 Psalm 34:10 James 1:17 Psalm 23:1 Matthew 7:11 Ephesians 3:20 Deuteronomy 2:7 Philippians 4:19 Psalm 145:15-16 Acts 17:25b Matthew 6:8 Buy my Bible/Supplies here: 1.    Bible: NLT Large-Print Thinline Reference Bible, Filament Enabled Edition--soft leather-look, floral/teal: 9781496444912 - Christianbook.com 2.    Highlighters: Aesthetic Highlighters, 8 Pcs, Chisel Tip, Muted Pastel Color, No Blee – Mr. Pen (mrpen.com) 3.    Bible Page Tabs: Floral Bible Tabs – The Daily Grace Co.   My Fave Websites to Find Studies, Books, Bibles, and Accessories: 1.    Christian Books, Bibles, Gifts & more. Ep. 52: Put to Death What Wants to E.N.D. You

In this episode of Beyond Just Christian Podcast, Brenna discusses how the earthly, natural, and demonic seek to destroy our walk with the Lord. Inspired by Colossians 3:5-10, Brenna examines how we’re commanded to put an end to what’s earthly and evil within us. As Christians, we are instructed to put on our new nature that is found and created only in Christ. Following this main verse, Brenna uses Scripture references to support the truth of how these three sinful factors bring harm to our bodies, spirits, and minds, which are detrimental to our salvation. The focus of this message is to reach the person who either excuses their sin or doesn’t really understand how it truly impacts them.   As Brenna says in her title, “Put to death what wants to E.N.D. you.”   Buy my Bible/Supplies here: 1. Ep. 51: Shame Cannot Stop Us from Serving The Lord Ft. Angie Baughman

Episode Description: On this episode of Beyond Just Christian Podcast, Brenna is joined by her teacher, mentor, and sister-in-Christ Angie Baughman. The two ladies met through Angie’s Steady On Internship program, and Brenna is currently under her wing as an editor for Angie’s own podcast. Together, they discuss how shame at any age cannot-and should not-stop us from serving the Lord.   Listeners will listen to Brenna and Angie dive deeper into the subjects of: · How shame tries to deter us from God’s plans · How to teach a community, inside and outside the church · How teaching others can break our ego of perfectionism · How rest and connection with God prevents burnout · Angie’s personal struggles and setbacks in serving others   Angie lives in Southern Illinois with her two sons and husband. Ep. 50: Why I No Longer Believe in Ghosts

Episode Description: In this episode of Beyond Just Christian Podcast, Brenna discusses why she no longer believes in ghosts. Today, she believes that demons pretend to be our deceased loved ones to fool us. In the book of Genesis, we learn that Satan led other angels against the Lord, so as their punishment, God sentenced them to earth. Instead of protecting God’s people and worshipping God as they were made to, they became God’s enemies. Since then, demons have watched humans, wanting nothing more than to deceive and destroy them. This includes confusing people and leading away from God's Truth. In this episode, listeners will also learn: · The definitions of what a ghost and a spirit is · Why Brenna used to believe in ghosts and why she no longer does now · Scriptures to back up her five points At the end of the day, we must know who God is to fully trust His Word. If we do not know who God is and trust who He says He is, we will be even more skeptical and unconvinced of the truth and totality of His Word. By not trusting or believing God and what He says to be true, we will be easily fooled by other teachings, concepts, and ideas. Overall, Brenna wants people to be informed on what Scriptures say and come to a conclusion themselves based on what the Word says.   LINKS: Listen to my last podcast episode here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/1gYK1wk6IfxlWt0Y5qRhNS?si=878f9f8cac734d94 -Other episodes related to this topic: I Believe Satan is Evil Episode #37: https://open.spotify.com/episode/7Iib59V3hdinnCaIomXGmI?si=bfd9a3bbeade4ed8 The Lord Disciplines Those He Loves Episode #27: https://open.spotify.com/episode/414FVuAOATQQF46MVjMGpO?si=2dXL8NYIQqSahLdiHnbxpA -Heaven & Healing Podcast Ghost Hunter Episode: https://open.spotify.com/episode/1JvJNmFUYKITO0LPqYxstj   Buy my Bible/Supplies here: 1. Ep. 49: Your Existence is Not an Accident

In this episode of Beyond Just Christian Podcast, Brenna is speaking to the person who either who wants to die and/or to the person who questions the value of their life. Oftentimes, it’s easy to ask God the questions of: “Why did You make me this way?”  “What worth in life do I have if I’m constantly targeted, unloved, and lost?”  “Why did my parents ever want me to live in this messed up world?” When we suffer, it’s easy to believe the lie that we want to die or have no real purpose. Yet, God views us in a way that brings beauty and hope to the everyday lives we live. To understand this, we must understand who God is. In this episode, Brenna covers: · Four Biblical/historical figures who learned how valuable their lives were despite hardships · The three C’s of who God is as our Creator, Caretaker, and Comforter · What the Bible says about our births and existence as God’s creations Brenna hopes that today’s episode reassures listeners that they are precious to the Lord and help them know that their existence is not an accident on God’s part.   Scriptures Mentioned:       1 Peter 4:19       1 Kings 17:1-10        1 Kings 19:1-9      Jeremiah 20:14-18        Isaiah 45:9-10           Job 1:1-12         Job 3:1-26          Job 42:1-6     Job 42:7-17       Judges 11:1-11      Judges 11:29-33   Isaiah 43:7        Isaiah 42:5         Psalm 139:1-24         Ephesians 2:10 Isaiah 46:3-4         Psalm 8:4 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 Isaiah 51:12 Lamentations 3:1-58   Self-Reflection Questions: 1. Ep. 48: The Holy Spirit is The Peace For Our Minds & Hearts

On this episode of Beyond Just Christian Podcast, Brenna breaks down two Scriptures from John 14:27-29 and John 16:33, covering the topic of God’s peace. The three commonalities between the two verses involve the following categories: peace, Jesus, and the world. The purpose of this episode is to remind listeners of the following: •Though we will have many trials and sorrows here on earth, we should be encouraged because Jesus will return. •The Holy Spirit is the ultimate gift, because He guarantees our minds and hearts peace even when the world persecutes, fails, or tries us. •The Holy Spirit’s power of peace does not depend on our feelings, flesh, or our level of difficulties, and this peace surpasses our understanding. •The Holy Spirit is Christ’s Representative and the Advocate/Helper for God’s people. Overall, Brenna wants her audience to remember where their peace comes from, and that’s from the Holy Spirit. Scriptures Mentioned: John 14: 27-29 John 16:33 Romans 15:13 2 Thessalonians 3:16 Philippians 4:7 C.S. Lewis Quote: "Life with God is not immunity from difficulties, but peace within difficulties." Ep. 46: What Does Being Obedient to God Look Like?

In this episode of Beyond Just Christian Podcast, Brenna uses Angie Baughman’s “Step By Step Bible Study Method” to discuss and break down the word “obedience.” Using Scriptures to present both the rewards of obedience and the repercussions of disobedience, Brenna highlights the necessity of this discipline in one’s relationship with the Lord. Though it is not always fun or enjoyable of a decision to make, God rewards and blesses those who are willing to listen, and He promises us a peace that surpasses our own understanding. The purpose of this episode is to remind listeners that they must make the conscious decision to obey Him to receive the promise He has for them. Scriptures Mentioned: 1. 1 Samuel 15:22 2.
