God just wants to be with us. It's our sin that prevents us from that. We can't sacrifice enough to even come close to his holiness. Thankful that Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. God is willing and able to rescue, heal, revive and give his children. His faithfulness, however, is met with our fleeting devotion. Once He's saved us, it's not long before we think to ourselves we no longer need him and just like a morning cloud disappears, so does our love for him. Let us know the Lord! He is the only certain thing in the entire universe and he can't be moved. A foreshadowing of Jesus, this verse confirms that God wants to bring his people back. He doesn't want Israel to live in desolation. He doesn't want us to be far from him.
