Biblical Talks with Elder Michael Tolliver Podcast

When the term Reformed theology is used, it often refers to something less historical. Often it refers to a theology that acknowledges the doctrine of predestination and holds to a high view of the Bible as God’s inerrant Word. Sometimes it is also identified with the so-called five points of Calvinism: total depravity, unconditional election, limited atonement, irresistible grace, and the perseverance of the saints. These are all important teachings of the Reformed tradition, but they do not fully encapsulate or describe Reformed theology.A better starting place is five statements that have been called the five solas of the Reformation. These five solas (sola is the Latin word for “only” or “alone”) are sola Scriptura (Scripture alone), sola fide (faith alone), sola gratia (grace alone), solus Christus (Christ alone), and soli Deo gloria (God’s glory alone). Put together, these solas cl

Sermon of the Week: Erwin Lutzer: How the Unseen World Shapes Your Thoughts And Home

Send us Fan MailThe spirit world is a place of great conflict and activity. It’s also a place of tremendous influence. When Jesus was accused of casting out demons by the power of Satan, He gave His accusers a couple of things to think about. But more than that, we learn that we can’t get from darkness to light on our own. We need someone who is stronger than the prince of darkness to bring us into the light.  Each month, Elder Tolliver offers a spiritually encouraging book to help you in your walk with Christ for any size donation. A Spotlight on the Scriptures: Proverbs 1:7: Beginning with Awe

Send us Fan MailThis is a Spotlight on the Scriptures: Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. True Knowledge Begins with GodTo know a thing rightly is to see it as God sees it—to perceive its true nature, not just its surface. That’s what Proverbs is trying to teach us. It doesn’t just hand out wisdom like candy—it points us to the source. All true wisdom, all lasting knowledge, is rooted in God and His Word. Not in trends. Not in opinions. Not in credentials. But in the character and counsel of the Almighty. And Proverbs doesn’t just suggest we fear God—it commands it. Not fear like terror, but fear like reverence. Fear like awe. Fear like taking God seriously. And how do you do that? Not by checking religious boxes. Not by quoting Scripture without surrender. You take God seriously by walking with Him. By knowing Him. By being in relationship with Him.Because wisdom isn’t just information—it’s intimacy. It’s not just knowing facts about God—it’s knowing the heart of God. And when you know Him, you begin to see everything else rightly. That’s true knowledge. That’s holy understanding. That’s the fear of the Lord. This is a Spotlight on the Scriptures  Support the showHave a blessed day, and thanks for listening! Visit my website to learn more at https://www.biblicaltalks.com

Deep Dive: Song of Solomon; Solomon’s Search For the One

Send us Fan MailElder Michael Tolliver interprets the Song of Solomon as a multi-layered masterpiece that explores human marriage, prophetic history, and individual spirituality. He contrasts Solomon’s failed search for meaning in his other writings with the profound intimacy found in this "Song of Songs," which serves as a "holy of holies" for the soul. The text emphasizes that the dialogue between the groom and the bride mirrors the unbreakable union between Jesus Christ and His Church. Tolliver encourages believers to prioritize their personal relationship with God over religious routines and to tend to their own "vineyards," such as family and character. Ultimately, the source portrays Christ as a graceful Shepherd who restores his followers from failure and views them with deep affection. This spiritual bond is compared to cream mixed into coffee, representing an eternal and inseparable connection between the Savior and the redeemed.  Each month, Elder Tolliver offers a spiritually encouraging book to help you in your walk with Christ for any size donation. Sermon of the Week Charles Spurgeon: Why God Chose You

Send us Fan MailWhy were YOU rescued while millions perish? 🕯️It is the question that shatters human pride and rebuilds the soul on the bedrock of grace. Why did God set His affection on you? Was it your intellect? Your kindness? Your choice? In this powerful message, we channel the timeless wisdom of the "Prince of Preachers," Charles Haddon Spurgeon, to explore the most controversial yet comforting doctrine in all of Scripture: Unconditional Election. We are stripping away the modern, "me-centered" gospel to reveal the terrifying and glorious sovereignty of God. This is not a message for the faint of heart. It is a hammer that breaks pride and a balm that heals the trembling saint.👇 IN THIS SERMON, YOU WILL DISCOVER:✅ The Great Lie of "Foreknowledge": Why God didn't choose you just because He saw you would choose Him.✅ The Theological Battle: A clear comparison between the "begging God" of modern theology and the "Conquering King" of the Bible (Arminianism vs. Calvinism).✅ The Scandal of Romans 9: Understanding why God loved Jacob and hated Esau.✅ The Golden Chain of Security: Why your salvation is unbreakable and eternally secure.✅ True Assurance: How to know, for certain, if you are among the Elect.  Each month, Elder Tolliver offers a spiritually encouraging book to help you in your walk with Christ for any size donation. A Spotlight on the Scriptures: Psalms 123:3: God’s Favor Outlasts Every Hater And Every Storm

Send us Fan MailThis is a Spotlight on the Scriptures: Psalms 123:3 show us favor, LORD, show us favor, for we’ve had more than enough contempt. Favor in the Face of ContemptThough their enemies mocked them, though the nations looked down on them, God's people stood with confidence. Why? Because they knew something their enemies didn’t: God can flip the script. The psalmist didn’t beg for revenge—he cried out for favor. Over and over again, he prayed, “Lord, show us favor!”Because when God lays His hand on you, no enemy can hold you down. When God opens a door, no hater can shut it. When God says “yes,” every devil in hell has to back up and bow down.Favor ain’t fair—but it’s final. And if the Lord grants you favor, no weapon formed against you will prosper. No lie will stick. No scheme will succeed. Favor will find you in the fire, lift you in the flood, and crown you in the chaos. So don’t focus on the contempt—focus on the cry. Lift your voice like the psalmist and say, “Lord, show me favor!” Because when heaven says yes, earth has to adjust. This is a Spotlight on the Scriptures   Support the showHave a blessed day, and thanks for listening! Deep Dive: The God of Grace: Why Grace Offends The “Good” And Saves the Desperate

Send us Fan MailElder Michael Tolliver characterizes divine grace as God’s limitless and unmerited favor toward humanity, distinguishing it from general mercy. The text defines grace as an eternal, free, and sovereign attribute that operates independently of human effort or worthiness. Through the life of Jacob, the author illustrates how grace often begins at the point of human brokenness and surrender. Conversely, the story of Jonah serves as a warning against self-righteousness and the tendency to resent favor shown to others. Ultimately, the source presents grace as a transformative power found only in Jesus Christ that levels all social and moral hierarchies. This overview emphasizes that while pride rejects such charity, the acknowledgment of one's own inadequacy is the only path to receiving spiritual restoration.  Each month, Elder Tolliver offers a spiritually encouraging book to help you in your walk with Christ for any size donation. God’s truth. From Genesis to Revelation, it’s one holy declaration: that the God who knows Himself, knows us, and knows the mess we’re in, has crafted a plan—not a patch job, not a suggestion, but a divine strategy—to snatch men and women out of failure, out of sin, and make them citizens of the Kingdom. Not just citizens—but worthy citizens. This ain’t man’s idea. This is God’s plan. Sermon of the Week: Pastor Billy McKillop: Set Apart by Grace

Send us Fan MailPaul’s conversion story in Galatians 1:11–24 teaches us something powerful about identity—you’ve got to know the Source you’re drawing from. Paul declares that the gospel he preached didn’t come from human classrooms, human approval, or human imagination. It came straight from Jesus Christ Himself. Before Christ arrested his life, Paul was caught in the grind of religious performance—climbing ladders, chasing titles, measuring his worth by his résumé. His identity was built on achievement, comparison, and competition. But Jesus lived another way. Jesus walked in perfect union with the Father. He never hustled for identity. He never performed for approval. He never let accomplishments define Him.And here’s the good news: through Christ’s finished work on the cross, we get to step out of the exhausting cycle of self-promotion and step into the rest of God’s approval. Our worth is no longer tied to what we do, but to what Christ has already done. When we root our identity in Him, we stop striving for validation and start living from the security of His grace.  Each month, Elder Tolliver offers a spiritually encouraging book to help you in your walk with Christ for any size donation. A Spotlight on the Scriptures: Psalms 107:1-3: Redemption Today, Coronation Tomorrow

Send us Fan MailThis is a Spotlight on the Scriptures: Psalms 107:1-3 Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south. A Psalm of Redemption and a Promise Yet to ComeThis psalm is a holy summons—a call to the redeemed to lift their voices in thanksgiving. Why? Because the Lord, in His mercy, brought His people out of Babylonian bondage and began to gather them back into the land. That was grace. That was deliverance. But hear me now: that regathering was only a preview, not the premiere. It was partial, not permanent. The full fulfillment is still on the horizon. It will come when the Messiah steps into His millennial reign—when the King of kings sits on David’s throne and gathers His people from every corner of the earth. That’s not just restoration—that’s coronation. That’s not just return—that’s reign. So yes, we thank Him for what He’s done. But we also praise Him for what He’s promised. Because the same God who brought them out will one day bring them all the way in. And when He does, every exile will be home, every tear will be dried, and every knee will bow before the One who redeems and reigns. This is a Spotlight on the Scriptures  Support the showHave a blessed day, and thanks for listening! Deep Dive Philippians: You Can Master Religion And Still Miss Jesus

Send us Fan MailPhilippians 3:10-11: that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share hissufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain theresurrection from the dead.Someone once said, “One of the most dangerous forms of human error is forgetting what one istrying to achieve.” And saints, that danger is real in the Christian life. It is easy—far too easy—toget distracted, to get busy, to get religious, and yet forget the very thing we’re supposed to beaiming at.So, what is the goal of the Christian life? Paul answers it with beautiful simplicity:The goal of the Christian life is to know Christ and to be like Him.That’s it. That’s the target. That’s the aim. That’s the bull’s-eye. Christianity is not a ladder ofrules we climb to reach heaven. It is not rituals, routines, or religious performances. Christianityis a living, growing, personal relationship with the risen Lord Jesus Christ—a relationship thattransforms us into His likeness. Our goal is to know Him. Sermon of the Week, Adrian Rogers: Vanishing Values

Send us Fan MailOur nation is caught in a struggle over its values—a battle over who is right and who is wrong, over what is righteous and what is reckless. The very morals and ethics that once served as the backbone of this land are being chipped away right before our eyes. What used to be celebrated is now questioned, and what used to be questioned is now celebrated. The ground beneath us is shifting, and the soul of the nation is crying out for clarity, conviction, and courage. But whenever a people lose their moral compass, God raises up voices who refuse to bow to confusion. Voices that call us back to truth, back to righteousness, back to the foundations that do not move. This is not the hour for silence—it is the hour for spiritual clarity, moral courage, and prophetic conviction.  Each month, Elder Tolliver offers a spiritually encouraging book to help you in your walk with Christ for any size donation. A Spotlight on the Scriptures: Job 1:20-21: When Everything Falls Apart, Turn to Worship

Send us Fan MailThis is a Spotlight on the Scriptures: Job 1:20-21 Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.”Praise in the Dark: A Word from Job’s AshesDon’t miss this, saints—Job didn’t just cry, he didn’t just complain, he didn’t just collapse. The Bible says he fell to the ground and worshiped. After the loss. After the heartbreak. After the funeral. After the fire. He knew where to turn when everything fell apart. He didn’t run from God—he bowed before Him.We come into this world naked, with nothing in our hands. And let me tell you something: the only way we won’t go to the grave naked is if somebody else dresses us for it. That’s the truth. You can’t take your house, your car, your degrees, or your designer suits with you. You leave it all behind. Job understood that. He said, “The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” That’s not bitterness—that’s boldness. That’s not defeat—that’s devotion. Job didn’t just praise God in the sunshine—he praised Him in the storm. And that’s where your breakthrough lives. Anybody can shout when the bills are paid and the body is healthy. But can you worship when the casket is closed? Can you lift your hands when your heart is heavy? Can you say “Hallelujah” when hell is breaking loose?Because that’s where heaven leans in. That’s where angels take notes. That’s where God says, “Now that’s my child.”So, if you’re walking through the valley, don’t wait for the light—praise Him in the dark. Because the same God who gives is the God who governs. And the same God who allows loss is the God who brings life. This is a Spotlight on the Scriptures   Support the showHave a blessed day, and thanks for listening! Deep Dive: Psalm 23; What If “The Lord Is My Shepherd” Is A Legal Defense Against Despair

Send us Fan MailElder Michael Tolliver explores Psalm 23 by framing God’s promises as landmark legal and spiritual precedents. The author parallels historical civil rights victories with the crucifixion of Jesus, suggesting both provide a foundation of authority for believers to claim their rights and protection. By analyzing the relationship between a shepherd and his sheep, the text emphasizes a transition from collective faith to a deeply personal connection with the Divine. The imagery of the rod and staff illustrates how God provides both defense against external threats and gentle internal correction. Ultimately, the message offers comfort by depicting divine goodness and mercy as constant guardians that ensure a believer’s security through life’s metaphorical shadows  Each month, Elder Tolliver offers a spiritually encouraging book to help you in your walk with Christ for any size donation. Send us Fan MailThis is a Spotlight on the Scriptures: Psalms 2:7-8 I will tell of the decree: The LORD said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession. Only King Jesus—no rival, no equal—will inherit the nations when he reigns in the millennial glory. Not Rome. Not Babylon. Not America. Not China. No empire, no army, no government will be able to stand when the Lion of Judah roars and the skies split with his power. He’s not coming back as a lamb—he’s coming as a warrior King, crowned in majesty, clothed in fire, riding on clouds. And rebellion? Foolish. Futile. Laughable. To resist the reign of the Messiah is like an ant trying to body slam an elephant. It’s not a fight—it’s a fantasy. So, bow now, while mercy is still flowing. Deep Dive: God’s Love Isn’t Niceness; It’s Sovereign, Glorious, And Transforming

Send us Fan MailThis teaching by Elder Michael Tolliver explores the divine attributes of God's love, defining it as a sovereign and eternal reality rather than a fleeting human emotion. The text asserts that love is God’s very essence, inseparable from His holiness and glory, and remains entirely uninfluenced by human merit. By examining scriptural truths, the author illustrates how this love is immutable and infinite, providing a secure foundation for those within the Christian covenant. The discourse emphasizes that understanding this transcendent affection naturally leads to a life of obedience and transformation. Ultimately, the source presents sacrificial love as the essential trademark of a true believer and the primary evidence of a relationship with the Creator.  Each month, Elder Tolliver offers a spiritually encouraging book to help you in your walk with Christ for any size donation. Faith is not passive. Faith is not wishful thinking.Faith moves.Faith leans in.Faith looks up.Hebrews calls us to come close to God, to stand on His promises, and to keep our eyes locked on the One who started our faith and the One who will finish it. A Spotlight on the Scriptures: John 13:3-5: Serving Others Begins When We Kneel

Send us Fan MailThis is a Spotlight on the Scriptures: John 13:3-5 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God, rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.Heaven’s King stooped low. Jesus—the Son of God, the Lion of Judah, the Lord of Glory—wrapped a towel around his waist and got down on his knees. He washed the dust-covered feet of men who should’ve been washing his. Why? Because he didn’t come to be served—he came to serve (Mark 10:45). And now, that same spirit of servanthood? That same posture of humility? That same call to kneel before the needs of others? In fact, Scripture speaks more often about the wrath of God than thelove of God, because the Bible refuses to let us create a God who is soft on sin.Hear me: God’s wrath flows from the very necessity of His nature. Because He is holy, He mustjudge sin. Because He is righteous, He cannot overlook evil. Because He is just, He cannotpretend rebellion does not exist. Judgment is not God losing His temper; judgment is God beingtrue to Himself. And yet—don’t miss this—God takes no pleasure in the punishment of the wicked. His heart isnot eager to condemn; His heart is eager to save. But His goodness demands that sin be dealtwith, and His holiness demands that evil be answered. So when we speak of God’s wrath, we are not speaking of a divine outburst. We are speaking ofthe settled, necessary, righteous opposition of a holy God against everything that destroys Hiscreation and defies His glory.  Each month, Elder Tolliver offers a spiritually encouraging book to help you in your walk with Christ for any size donation. Biblical Talks Encouraging Word for the Week, with Rachel Tolliver: Paid For, So Live on Purpose

Send us Fan MailBiblical Talks Encouraging Word for the Week, I am Rachel Tolliver, When students step foot on that college campus, they get an orientation—a crash course on how to make the most of their education, how to manage their time, how to walk with purpose. But let me tell you something: if Mama and Daddy find out their child is spending more time at the party than in the classroom, they’re going to be hot! Why? Because college costs too much to waste time playing games. Tuition isn’t cheap, and parents didn’t break their backs for their child to major in foolishness!” “Now saints, if earthly parents get upset over wasted tuition, how much more do you think our heavenly Father feels when we waste the price He paid for our salvation? Jesus didn’t die so you could drift. He didn’t bleed so you could binge. He paid a high price—His own blood—so you could grow, so you could develop, so you could be discipled!” “Paul said it like this in 1 Corinthians 7:23: ‘God paid a great price for you. So don’t become slaves of anyone else.’ That means don’t let culture chain you. Don’t let sin own you. Don’t let distraction define you. You’ve been bought with a price—so walk like it, live like it, and grow like it!”“This isn’t the time to play—it’s the time to pursue. Don’t waste the fire. Don’t squander the sacrifice. Jesus paid it all—so give Him your all!For more encouraging, words please go to biblicaltalks.com or listen to biblical talks podcast on your favorite media app May 4 Support the showHave a blessed day, and thanks for listening! Sermon of the Week, John MacArthur: Why the World Rejects the Word of God

Send us Fan MailThe Christian on his knees can see farther than the philosopher on his tiptoes. Why? Because spiritual truth is never grasped by human brilliance—it is revealed to a spiritually prepared mind. The truths of God are foolishness to the carnal mind. They sound trivial, unnecessary, even offensive to a heart that has not been humbled. The only way to understand spiritual truth is to yield to the Author of truth—the Holy Spirit. Not by intellect. Not by imagination. Not by human reasoning. But by surrender. You don’t climb your way into revelation—you bow your way into it.You don’t figure God out—you submit to Him.You don’t master the Scriptures—the Spirit must master you.And when the Spirit opens your eyes, the simplest saint sees farther than the sharpest skeptic.Because truth is not discovered—it is revealed. And revelation comes to the one who kneels  Each month, Elder Tolliver offers a spiritually encouraging book to help you in your walk with Christ for any size donation. A Spotlight on the Scriptures: Matthew, The Name That Saves

Send us Fan MailThis is a Spotlight on the Scriptures: Matthew 1:21 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” Jesus—that name isn’t just a label, it’s a mission statement. It’s the Greek form of the Hebrew name Yeshua, or Joshua, which means “The Lord saves.” And when the angel spoke to Joseph, he didn’t just give a name—he gave a revelation. “You shall call His name Jesus,” the angel said, “for He shall save His people from their sins.”That name tells the whole story. It tells us why He came. Not to entertain. Not to impress. Not to build an empire. But to save. To rescue. To redeem. To snatch souls from the grip of hell and bring them into the arms of grace. So every time you say “Jesus,” you’re declaring deliverance. You’re announcing salvation. You’re calling on the One who came down through forty-two generations, wrapped Himself in flesh, and walked into the world with heaven’s agenda on His shoulders.Jesus—the Lord saves. Not might save. Not could save. Not hopes to save. He shall save. That’s power. That’s promise. That’s purpose. This is a Spotlight on the Scriptures  Support the showHave a blessed day, and thanks for listening! Deep Dive: The Omniscience of God; Fully Known: Omniscience, Freedom, And Comfort

Send us Fan MailThis sermon by Elder Michael Tolliver examines the omniscience of God, defined as His perfect, intuitive, and exhaustive knowledge of all actual and potential things. The text explains that because God is eternal and immutable, His understanding never changes, grows, or fades, encompassing the past, present, and future simultaneously. For the believer, this divine attribute serves as both a holy challenge to live with integrity and a profound source of comfort, as God fully understands our motives and struggles even when others do not. The author emphasizes that while God knows every human failure and secret sin, He continues to offer unconditional love and restoration to His followers. Ultimately, the source presents God’s all-knowing nature as an invitation to sincere worship, highlighting that His foreknowledge does not override human volition but fits perfectly within His sovereign plan.  Each month, Elder Tolliver offers a spiritually encouraging book to help you in your walk with Christ for any size donation. Biblical Talks Encouraging Word for the Week, with Rachel Tolliver: When You Stay Connected To God, Transformation Follows

Send us Fan MailBiblical Talks Encouraging Word for the Week, I am Rachel Tolliver, Saints, when a woman is pregnant, her body begins to change—not because she’s trying to change, but because life is growing inside her. That baby is connected. That baby is attached. That baby is piggybacking off the mother’s life. It borrows her nutrition. It feeds off her strength. And the mother’s body—without effort, without coercion—begins to make room for the miracle. She doesn’t have to force the growth. She doesn’t have to command the transformation. It just happens—because of the connection. Her shape shifts. Her taste buds change. Milk starts preparing to flow. Her walk, her posture, her rhythm—everything begins to adjust. Why? Because something holy is happening on the inside. And saints, that’s how transformation works in the Spirit. When the Holy Ghost takes residence in your life, you don’t have to fake it. You don’t have to force it. You don’t have to fabricate holiness. You just stay connected—and the change will come. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.” (2 Corinthians 5:17) When the Spirit of God is alive in you, the inside starts rearranging the outside. Your walk changes. Your talk changes. Your appetite changes. Your posture in the world shifts—because heaven is growing inside of you.You don’t need religion to coerce you. You don’t need guilt to push you. You just need the life of God to live in you. So let Him grow. Let Him stretch you. Let Him transform you.Because when the Spirit is pregnant in your soul, the world will see the bump. They’ll see the glow. They’ll see the evidence of new life. Saints, stay connected—and let the transformation speak for itself. For more encouraging, words please go to biblicaltalks.com or listen to biblical talks podcast on your favorite media app  Support the showHave a blessed day, and thanks for listening! A Spotlight on the Scriptures: Ecclesiastes, Final Credits And First Choices

Send us Fan MailThis is a Spotlight on the Scriptures: Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil. Every action—good or evil—is on tape. Heavens got the footage. The recorder is running. And while you can’t rewind and erase what’s already been filmed, you can shoot new scenes. You can create better footage. As long as you’ve got breath in your body, the reel is still rolling! So, the question is: what are you recording today?Because God isn’t just watching—He’s calling. Calling you to live with purpose. Calling you to walk in obedience. Calling you to make your life count for the kingdom. You’ve been placed in this moment, in this generation, for such a time as this. So, seek His perspective. Don’t live under the sun—live under His sovereignty. Let your decisions be shaped by divine wisdom. Let your steps be ordered by eternal truth. Let your life be a living testimony that says, “I showed up for the mission!”Because when the final credits roll, and the tape is played back before the throne, may it be said of you: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”This is a Spotlight on the Scriptures   Support the showHave a blessed day, and thanks for listening! Deep Dive: Sovereign Fire, Weighty Glory

Send us Fan MailListen, church: The sovereignty of God means this—God rules and God overrules. He governsevery corner of His creation, including the affairs of men. He sits high on the throne of theuniverse as Lord, and nothing—I said nothing—moves unless He causes it or allows it. No eventin history, no moment in time, no breath, no heartbeat, no rise, no fall ever escapes Hisabsolute control. If it happens, He either sent it or permitted it—but it never slipped past Him.the late Charles Haddon Spurgeon say in his sermon on Matthew 20:15— There is no attributemore comforting to His children than that of God’s sovereignty. Under the most adversecircumstances, in the most severe trials, they believe that sovereignty has ordained theirafflictions, that sovereignty overrules them, and that sovereignty will sanctify them all. God’s glory is thevisible showing of who He is—His attributes shining, His character blazing, His nature on display. In the Old Testament, the word “glory” means weight—heaviness—something so real, so solid,so substantial that it presses on everything around it.So when we speak of God’s glory, we’re talking about a God whose reputation is heavy, whosepresence is weighty, whose splendor is overwhelming. His glory is the radiance of His greatness, the shine of His holiness, the brilliance of His being.  Each month, Elder Tolliver offers a spiritually encouraging book to help you in your walk with Christ for any size donation. Biblical Talks Encouraging Word for the Week, with Rachel Tolliver: Love Is the Birthmark Of The Born Again

Send us Fan MailBiblical Talks Encouraging Word for the Week, I am Rachel Tolliver, most folks walking this earth have a birthmark—some small mole, some unique scar, some identifying mark that says, “This is me.” And designers? Oh, they’ve got trademarks. Logos. Symbols. You don’t even have to read the name—just one look and you know who made it.But God… God has a mark too. A divine identifier. A spiritual signature. And it isn’t stitched into your skin—it’s woven into your soul. Love is the birthmark of the believer.Without love, people don’t know who you are. Without love, your witness is blurry. Without love, your discipleship is in question. 1 John 3:11 says, “For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.” John’s not introducing something new—he’s echoing the voice of Jesus. “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:35)This love is not optional—it’s essential. It’s not a suggestion—it’s a sign. It’s not just a feeling—it’s a function of the Spirit. And yet… in too many churches, in too many pews, in too many pulpits… love is lacking. We’ve got doctrine, but no devotion. We’ve got programs, but no passion. We’ve got buildings, but no brotherhood.Saints, hear me: You can speak in tongues, but if you don’t speak in love, you’re just noise. You can preach with power, but if you don’t walk in love, you’re preaching to the wind. You can sing like angels, but if you don’t serve with love, heaven isn’t impressed. Love is the mark. Love is the proof. Love is the birthmark of the born-again.So let the world see it. Let the church feel it. Let your enemies be confused by it. Let your brothers and sisters be healed by it.Because when love shows up, Christ is revealed. And when Christ is revealed, the kingdom advances. For more encouraging, words please go to biblicaltalks.com or listen to biblical talks podcast on your favorite media app  Support the showHave a blessed day, and thanks for listening! A Spotlight on the Scriptures: Ecclesiastes: Under the Sun

Send us Fan MailThis is a Spotlight on the Scriptures: Ecclesiastes 1:2-3 Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, vanity of vanities! All is vanity.  What does man gain by all the toil at which he toils under the sun? “Everything is vanity,” the preacher cries. “Everything is empty. Everything is meaningless”—but only when seen through human eyes. That’s the cry from under the sun. And don’t miss that phrase—it’s the key to the whole lament. Because under the sun is where we hustle and grind. Under the sun is where we work, where we play, where we raise our babies and bury our dead. It’s the realm of sweat and sorrow, of laughter that fades and dreams that die.Under the sun, life looks like a vapor—here today, gone tomorrow. Under the sun, wisdom can’t stop death, and riches can’t buy peace. Under the sun, we chase wind and call it success. We build kingdoms that crumble. We gather treasures that rust. We live like we’ll never die and die like we never lived. But hear me, church: there’s another perspective. There’s a view above the sun. And when you lift your eyes, when you fix your gaze on the eternal, everything changes. What looked like vanity becomes victory. What felt meaningless becomes mission. What seemed empty gets filled with glory. So don’t get stuck under the sun. Don’t let your theology be trapped in the dust. Lift your eyes. Look higher. Live for the One who reigns above the sun—because only He can give meaning to the madness, purpose to the pain, and eternity to the temporary. This is a Spotlight on the Scriptures  Support the showHave a blessed day, and thanks for listening! Deep Dive the Self-Existence and Holiness of God: What Changes When God Is the Uncaused Cause

Send us Fan MailThis text explores the divine attributes of self-existence and holiness, emphasizing that God is a complete, independent Being who exists outside the constraints of time. The author explains that because God is the uncaused source of life, all of creation is utterly dependent on Him for its continued existence. A significant portion of the work focuses on God’s holiness, defined as His absolute separation from sin and His unique status as transcendently different from all created things. Through various biblical narratives, such as the lives of Moses, Uzzah, and Isaiah, the text illustrates the sovereign weight of this purity and the reverence it demands from humanity. Ultimately, the source argues that recognizing these traits should lead to humility, obedience, and a transformed perspective on worship within the modern church.  Each month, Elder Tolliver offers a spiritually encouraging book to help you in your walk with Christ for any size donation. ABOUT THIS SHOW
