The Cost of Being the Strong One: How Hyper-Independence Keeps You Depleted
If you are the person everyone calls when something falls apart, this episode will help you understand why it is so hard to let anyone help you, and what that is costing your body. Britt explores how the strong one gets made, why hyper-independence is usually an attachment strategy rather than a personality trait, and how you can be highly functional and deeply dysregulated at the same time. You will learn why endurance without recovery breaks the system down, why recovery is relational rather than something you do alone, and how to begin communicating a need before your body reaches collapse. Britt also shares insight from her own life that you may recognize in your own. Being needed is not the same thing as being known. You are allowed to be held without first earning it.Connect with Britt:Instagram: @healwithbrittTikTok: @healwithbrittYouTube: Brittany PiperBody-First Healing Resources:Join the Program: bodyfirsthealing.com/programSomatic Practitioner Training: bodyfirsthealing.com/somatic-certificateRead the Book: bodyfirsthealing.com/the-bookTake the Free Mini Course: myhealinghub.com/minicourseoptinWebsite: bodyfirsthealing.com

Somatic Practice: Connect with Your Intuition
If your intuition feels unreachable, this practice is for you. In this guided somatic episode, Britt offers a different way to understand intuition: your inner knowing did not disappear, your access to it did, and those are two very different things. When your nervous system is busy scanning for danger, managing everyone else's emotions, or proving your worth, there is not much attention left to notice the quieter signals underneath. Rather than chasing answers, this practice helps you create the conditions where clarity can arrive on its own. You will settle your body, set down the questions you have been carrying, and gently practice becoming available to your own wisdom without forcing it.Related episode: Somatic Practice for Overthinking, Rumination, & Mental LoopsConnect with Britt:Instagram: @healwithbrittTikTok: @healwithbrittYouTube: Brittany PiperBody-First Healing Resources:Join the Program: bodyfirsthealing.com/programSomatic Practitioner Training: bodyfirsthealing.com/somatic-certificateRead the Book: bodyfirsthealing.com/the-bookTake the Free Mini Course: myhealinghub.com/minicourseoptinWebsite: bodyfirsthealing.com

Q&A: How to Talk About Your Trauma Without Over-Explaining, Quiet a Racing Mind at Night & Heal Without Reliving the Past
You finally crawl into bed exhausted, and that is the exact moment your mind decides to replay every conversation and solve every problem you have ever had. In this Q&A episode, Britt answers four thoughtful listener questions through a body-first lens: when and how to tell a partner you have CPTSD, what is really happening in your nervous system when you are tired but wired at night, whether you can heal trauma with somatic experiencing without revisiting specific memories, and how to help a highly logical partner understand your healing journey. If you have ever felt like your reactions do not make sense, this episode is a steady reminder that they do, and that healing can happen through the body in the present moment rather than by reliving the past.Related episode: Somatic Practice for Overthinking, Rumination, & Mental LoopsConnect with BrittWebsite: https://www.bodyfirsthealing.comBody-First Healing Program: https://www.bodyfirsthealing.com/programInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/healwithbrittBody-First Healing on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bodyfirsthealing

You're Not Lost, You're Changing: The Nervous System Reason Change Feels So Hard
Lately you might catch yourself thinking, "I don't feel like myself anymore," and wondering what is wrong with you. In this deeply personal solo episode, Britt offers a different possibility: that not feeling like yourself is often exactly what growth feels like. She explores why change feels so disorienting in the body, why your nervous system can read even aligned, beautiful growth as danger, why becoming someone new almost always includes grief, and how small moments of stability can keep your body open to what is emerging instead of retreating to what is familiar. If you are standing in the tender space between who you have been and who you are becoming, this one will help you feel less alone in it.Connect with BrittWebsite: https://www.bodyfirsthealing.comBody-First Healing Program: https://www.bodyfirsthealing.com/programInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/healwithbrittBody-First Healing on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bodyfirsthealing

Mona Sharma on Healing Burnout, The Root of Wellness & Coming Home to Your Body
Modern wellness tells us to do more, buy more and invest more into "healing," but what really moves the needle is much simpler. In this episode, Britt sits down with Mona Sharma, celebrity nutritionist, wellness educator, and host of the Rooted in Wellness podcast, to explore how stress, burnout, inflammation, and disconnection are often compounded when we keep looking outside ourselves for the next fix. Together, they talk about Mona’s path from anxiety and heart palpitations to a more embodied way of living, and how practices rooted in rest, digestion, community, and nervous system safety can help the body come back online. They also explore what it means to build your own “ashram” in everyday life and why healing often begins by remembering the version of you that existed before survival became your norm. Tune in to better understand how real wellness can become less about fixing yourself and more about coming home to your body.Connect with Mona:Instagram: @monasharmaWebsite: monasharma.comPodcast: Rooted in Wellness with Mona SharmaRelated Episode:95. Somatic Practice for Fatigue & Burnout Recovery
In this somatic practice episode, Britt explores what fatigue and burnout can look like through a nervous system lens. She explains why exhaustion is often not just about doing too much, but about a system that has been carrying unresolved stress for too long and has shifted into shutdown. Through a gentle guided practice, she helps you orient to the present, notice where fatigue lives in the body, and slowly move between discomfort and support to build more capacity, regulation, and flexibility. If you feel tired but cannot truly rest, overwhelmed, numb, or disconnected, this episode offers a grounded place to begin. How to Feel a Feeling: The 5 Steps of SIBAM for Nervous System Regulation
Most of us were never actually taught how to feel a feeling. We were taught how to override it, rationalize it, minimize it, or move past it as quickly as possible. But what we suppress, the body will later express. What we resist will persist. In this episode, Britt breaks down one of the most foundational somatic tools for emotional processing: SIBAM. She explains why suppressing emotions can keep the nervous system stuck in a stress response cycle, why feelings are not the same as emotions, and how the body already knows how to process what the mind often interrupts. Britt walks through the five channels of SIBAM — sensation, image, behavior, affect, and meaning — and shares how each one can help you move through feelings in a gentler, more tolerable way. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by emotion, disconnected from your body, or unsure how to actually process what you feel, this episode offers a practical body-first framework to begin. How to Manifest Through Embodiment & Release Limiting Beliefs with Matt Cooke
Britt sits down with manifestation coach and author of Beyond Wanting, Matt Cooke, for a conversation that bridges manifestation, embodiment, and nervous system work. Matt shares the unexpected spiritual awakening that changed the course of his life, how it led him out of the corporate world, and why real manifestation is about much more than positive thinking. Together, Britt and Matt explore the biggest misconceptions around manifestation, the role of the subconscious mind, why trauma and limiting beliefs can block what we desire, and how slowing down, feeling safe in the body, and taking smaller, more regulated steps can create real change. This conversation is for anyone who feels stuck between where they are and where they want to be, and wants a more grounded, body-aware way to move forward. The Myth of Nervous System Optimization: Why You Can’t Hack Healing
Healing has increasingly been framed as something to optimize, perfect, or hack. In this episode, Britt explores the growing pressure within wellness culture to constantly upgrade your nervous system and why that mindset can actually move you further away from regulation. She breaks down common healing myths, why overcomplicating your practices can keep you stuck, and how nervous system safety is built through consistency, relationship, and everyday moments rather than endless tools. If you are interested in somatic healing, nervous system regulation, and a more honest approach to personal growth, this conversation will help you rethink what healing actually asks of you. Somatic Practice for Overthinking, Rumination, & Mental Loops
When your mind will not stop looping, replaying, or trying to figure something out, it can feel almost impossible to step out of the cycle. In this episode, Britt shares why this happens through the lens of the nervous system, explaining how overthinking can become a survival response when the body is activated and searching for safety or control. She then offers a somatic practice to help you work with the physiological process underneath the mental loops, so you can feel more grounded, supported, and less caught in the spiral. Take 20 minutes of your day to get out of your head and into your body. Save this episode and come back to it when you need it.This episode offers a preview of the Body-First Healing Program.
