Bridging the Gap With Pastor Lloyd Pulley

As Christians, we should also have a very healthy respect for God. He is, after all, the one who created us. One of the most popular ways of disrespecting God is to rely on your own wisdom instead of God's. That kind of attitude leads to one thing - tragedy. We can see the evidence all around us. Today's message is titled "The Tragic Reign of Self", and is based on Jude, verses twelve and thirteen.

Today Lloyd resumes his verse by verse study through the epistle of Jude. It's only twenty five verses in length, but packed with great insights and truths for Christians. Today we'll look at verses eight through eleven, and three deadly departures.

Today on Bridging the Gap we'll again look in Jude as we meet dreamers, schemers and self- centered slobs! If you're joining us for the first time, you'll find Jude just before Revelation. We're going to get a little history lesson on self-centered people. 

Our country and our world are going through some rough times right now. The war with Iran and economic uncertainty here at home are good examples. And consider this - did you ever think you'd see the day when sexual perversion and blatant sexual sin would become so commonplace, people would just accept it as normal? Well, that's pretty much where thing stand here in 2026. The consequences are severe, and we need look no further than the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Jude was the half-brother of Jesus, and he was a bold proclaimer of the truth. Today we see an excellent example of this in verse seven. Jude reminds us that the disaster that befell Sodom and Gomorrah was due to an epidemic of sexual sin. As we look around us today, we can't help but think a similar fate awaits our country, unless we do something about it. 

Today on Bridging the Gap, we'll look at Romans chapter five as we examine the one thing we should really be thankful for...and it has absolutely nothing to do with material wealth. Today we will bring you another message from pastor Lloyd's series titled "Basic Christian Living".  In the final two verses of Romans chapter five, Paul reminds the Roman Christians of the power and might of God's wonderful grace. 

Being justified in Christ carries with it many blessings, one of which is freedom. How we choose to exercise that freedom speaks volumes about our character and walk with the Lord. We are sharing messages from pastor Lloyd's series titled "Basic Christian Living". 

As we study John's gospel, we're in chapter fifteen, where Jesus talks about abiding in God's love. The world is going to be against you, the moment you declare your allegiance to Christ. Pastor Lloyd Pulley now brongs us another message from his series titled "Basic Christian Living".

 We've just begun a series titled "Basic Christian Living", and today we will be in John fifteen. In this chapter, Jesus explains to His apostles the nature of His relationship with the Father and, in doing so, reveals the ideal relationship between the Father and us. We are the branches and Jesus is the true vine. We are to abide in Him. Just exactly what does that mean?

We are living in the end times. I'm sure you've heard someone say that. How do we know? How do we know that the return of Jesus is just around the corner? Current events certainly compel us to think so. Pastor Lloyd will share his thoughts on the state of the world today, and how it relates to the return of Jesus. It's a fascinating look at the world in 2026.

Today we'll begin a series from pastor Lloyd, titled "Basic Christian Living". I think you'll agree that we sometimes complicate our walk with God with doctrinal arguments, and other assorted things, so getting back to the basics sounds like a good idea, doesn't it? One of the basic aspects of our life as believers is the belief that Jesus is coming back - and coming back soon. It's going to be a glorious and triumphant moment when it happens.

Today we bring to a close, pastor Lloyd's series on spiritual warfare, titled "Spiritual Warfare 101". The final aspect of our spiritual armor that Paul discussed in Ephesians six was prayer. Now, I realize that prayer isn't necessarily connected with spiritual warfare, but if you understand what pryer is supposed to bee then it makes perfect sense that communicating with God is a great way to combat our spiritual enemy. 

Paul ends his instruction on spiritual warfare by imploring the Ephesians to pray. That shows us what a powerful weapon prayer really is! Too often, we see prayer as an opportunity to vent our frustrations with life, or to present God a list of material requests. This is NOT what prayer is supposed to be about.

Today, pastor Lloyd Pulley continues our series on spiritual warfare by looking a couple of very important pieces of our spiritual armor - our helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, and the ways we can use them to defeat our enemy. Satan is a very real - and so is the damage he can do to our relationship with God. 

Pastor Lloyd will take us to Ephesians six, verse seventeen, where we discover two very important parts of our spiritual armor - our helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit. One is a defensive item - a helmet, but the other is an offensive weapon - the sword.

Shoes are a source of great pride for some folks, but today Lloyd will be talking about the very important aspect of our battle with satan - having our feet shod in the preparation of the gospel of peace.

As a parent, you're certainly not going to let your child onto a football field in a pair of shorts and a T-shirt! Christians need the proper protection and armor as well, as we battle every day with satan. His goal is to separate us from our relationship with God. He'll do just about anything to be successful. What's the right kind of armor for us? That's the subject of our current series - spiritual warfare!

We'll continue Lloyd's series on spiritual warfare today, as we once again look at the schemes of our enemy, satan. If you were a football coach, and you got ahold of the other team's playbook, that would be a huge advantage, right? Well, as Christians, we need to pay close attention to satan's "play book", because if we know how he will attack us, we'll know how to successfully fight back.

None of us really wants to know satan very well. He is our enemy. He wants to destroy our relationship with God. But if we get to know his methods, we'll have an advantage, right? Well, that is what we'll be looking at today - satan's operations manual.

If you spent time in the military, you know that every soldier has a B-E-L. That's a basic equipment list. Canteen. Gun. Helmet. There are certain items that are essential for a soldier's success. Same thing for the Christian. We're in a spiritual battle every day of our lives, and our enemy is satan. What's on the B-E-L for the Christian?

There have been very few times when the world has been at peace, and we can see some very tense situations around the world even today. There is another war we fight every day - a spiritual war. Today we begin a series in Ephesians chapter six, as pastor Lloyd teaches us the basics of spiritual warfare.

The New testament is contained in the Old, and the Old Testament is explained in the New. Today's final study in Hosea is more proof of the truth of that statement. Hosea is one of the minor prophets at the end of the Old Testament, and like so many other prophetical books, it Hosea points us directly to the coming messiah, Jesus Christ. 

Today pastor Lloyd Pulley will take us once again to the Old Testament book of Hosea, as we begin our final look at this prophet's message to God's people.

Every book, every chapter and every verse in the Bible has an important application for believers. Hosea is a perfect example. Tucked away near the end of the Old Testament, this book of prophecy has many practical lessons for Christians in the year 2026.

As we begin today's Bridging the Gap broadcast, let's consider this: a loving roar! OK, how could a roar possibly be loving? We're going to find out today as pastor Lloyd brings us another message in our study through Hosea. 

Have you noticed how many politicians seem to have trouble with factuality these days? I mention this because it's important that we as Christians always have the facts of God's word available for sharing.  Pastor Lloyd's message is in Hosea chapter eleven, and is titled "God's Heart Poured Out".

Today Lloyd continues his new series in Hosea. I think all Christians can agree that in order to be a good witness for God, we need to have our relationship with Him in good shape. Part of that right relationship is pointing our lives and thoughts in the right direction - toward God, and the soon return of Jesus Christ.

Today on Bridging the Gap, pastor Lloyd Pulley again takes us to the book of Hosea, as we examine the consequences of a dried up life. A lawn that has dried up can usually be brought back with fertilizer, water and a little TLC, but what about a dried up life?

Today on Bridging the Gap, pastor Lloyd Pulley will urge us to throw that kind of thinking right out the window, and concentrate on what really makes for a successful life - an eternally successful life - glorifying God. We're studying the minor prophet Hosea.

 Now that we're grown up we can see that spoiling kids, adults or anything else leads to nothing but trouble. As we again look at the book of Hosea today, let's realize that we need to get back to our roots as Christians - thanking God for everything we have, whether it's a lot or a little.

Hosea the prophet warned of just such an attitude in his prophetic Old testament book, and we'll continue our study in Hosea chapters four and five today. The consequences of taking God for granted are clearly spelled out here, so let's pay close attention!

Sometimes as Parents, it seems that no matter how much we do for our kids, no matter how much we love them, they sometimes pull away from us. Then we try harder, and they pull further away. It was that way with God and The Children of Israel as well. Today we'll bring you a  study from the book of Hosea. So turn if you would to Hosea Chapter four and we'll get started.

Yesterday we began a new series in what is commonly referred to as the "minor prophets". These books at the end of the Old testament, have many important insights about future events, and they talk repeatedly about the coming Messiah. We've begun a study in Hosea chapters one through three, and we now join pastor Lloyd in chapter one, verse eight.

Today we begin a series through a book of the Bible many Christians have never read - and that's a shame. The section of the Old Testament from Hosea through Malachi is known as the "minor prophets", not because the message is minor, but because the books are shorter. These prophetical books are extremely important, and interesting to study. Pastor Lloyd is going to share an exciting and challenging series through Hosea.

Every day we wake up and hear the latest news about what's going on in the middle east, and to say it's a volatile part of the world id a huger understatement. Israel and the missile east has always been a hotbed of tension and violence, but it sure seems to be worse than ever these days. Pastor Lloyd is going to take another look at the God's promises to protect His chosen people, as we again look at Romans nine through eleven.

The nation of Israel is in the headlines in the year 2026, much as it has been in since it became a nation again in 1948. Have you ever wondered why a tiny nation like Israel can survive al these years being surrounded by enemies whose stated goal is to wipe Israel off the map? Pastor Lloyd will have some facts to share with us today as we look at God's Promises to Israel. Our scripture text is Romans chapters nine through eleven.

Today we bring you the conclusion of a special message from Lloyd concerning the continued downfall of society that we see all around us. Opportunities for compromise are everywhere, and as believers, we must not only beware of them, but we must understand the consequences of succumbing to them. 

We have a special message to share with you today, from pastor Lloyd.  I'm sure you've noticed how God and His word have been pushed out of the public square in recent years. Our faith is under attack, our savior Jesus Christ is mocked and rejected. The very same things ere happening two thousand years ago, and The Lord wrote a letter to the Church in Pergamos to let them know what He thought about it. So join us in Revelation two as we learn from the church of Pergamos - a compromising church.

 As we present the whole counsel of God here at Bridging the Gap, it's our prayer that God would lead you to faithful application in your life.  It's then that you'll go on to maturity in the Lord.  That's really what the apostle Paul is driving at as he closes out this epistle. We're going to see the true value of going through the Word, and applying it to our lives today!

 How do we know whether we are actually "Right with God?" Or we could put it this way, how do we know we are really a Christian?  Let's examine ourselves to see if we're in the faith today, with pastor Lloyd Pulley. Have you ever loved someone very deeply, poured your heart and soul into their life, and have that dedication met with ingratitude, or no love in return?  It's an experience that can be very hurtful and disheartening.  You might be surprised to find out that the apostle Paul experienced this too.  We're nearing the end of our series through Second Corinthians, and today we'll wrap up our look at chapter twelve.

One of the greatest frustrations in life is to express genuine love to someone, and have them turn around and give nothing back in return... except a cold shoulder or rejection. In chapter twelve of Second Corinthians, the apostle Paul draws our attention to his love for the church at Corinth. While he loved more and more, they gave less and less in return

Most of us find it extremely annoying when someone brags of their accomplishments. We see it constantly happening all around us.  We'll learn today that boasting has no place in the Christian life, unless we are boasting in our weaknesses or about our good and gracious Lord. The apostle Paul was the poster image for Christian humility. 

Satan uses the back door quite often in his attempt to deceive people.  His three-pronged attack is aimed at confusing us about Christ, the Gospel, and the Spirit of God. And he uses some crafty techniques to get us off track. One of his favorite targets is church leaders. Pastor Lloyd Pulley will show us how to avoid satan's snares today on Bridging the Gap.

If you want to be a pro athlete, there are countless hours of practice and strength training. If you want to be a policeman, the training and preparations are long and arduous. What about being in ministry? Oh, there's a cost involved there as well, as pastor Lloyd will share today.

Today, we'll continue our series though Second Corinthians with an important message about false teachers. Now, every message based on the words of the bible is important, but in the day and age we live in, warnings about false teaching are especially important. False teachers are everywhere today, and the deceptions are sometimes very subtle. But they are also very dangerous.

The word of God is being watered down and outright misinterpreted these days, and there results can be devastating. Our series in Second Corinthians continues today as pastor Lloyd takes is to chapter ten, beginning in verse twelve.
