You cannot step into the same river twice.
You can't go back. Not because the past didn't matter.Because the river has moved—and so have you.You can spend years trying to return to an old relationship, an old season, an old version of yourself, or a future you once imagined. But God may not be calling you backward.Isaiah 43:18–19 says:“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”The past can be a teacher. It cannot be your address.Take the lesson.Grieve what you lost.Repent where you need to.Forgive what needs forgiving. Then move.“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal.” — Philippians 3:13–14The river is moving.Get in.Built, Not Felt.#BuiltNotFelt #TheRiseCode #MenWhoFollowChrist #FollowChrist #WalkWithChrist #ChristCentered #Discipleship #MenOfFaith #MenOfGod #FaithAndDiscipline #Jesus #Purpose #Growth #NewSeason #TrustGod

Thoughts Should Serve a Purpose
Not every thought deserves your attention. Some thoughts help you act. Some help you learn. Some help you prepare. And some are just noise.A thought isn't a command. You can think, “I’m going to fail,” and still begin. You can think, “I’m angry,” and still choose restraint. You can think, “I need to check my phone,” and put it down.2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. And Philippians 4:8 reminds us to set our minds on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. So ask yourself:What purpose does this thought serve? If there is something to do—do it.Something to learn—learn it.Something to repent of—repent.Something to pray about—pray. And if it's just noise—let it go.You don't have to give every thought a home.Built, Not Felt.#BuiltNotFelt #TheRiseCode #MenWhoFollowChrist #FollowChrist #WalkWithChrist #ChristCentered #Discipleship #MenOfFaith #MenOfGod #FaithAndDiscipline #Jesus #Discipline #Purpose #RenewYourMind #BiblicalMindset

The Pain Behind Often Blocks the Joy Ahead
Sometimes the thing standing between you and the joy ahead isn't what's happening in front of you. It's what happened behind you.You were betrayed, so you stopped trusting. You failed, so you stopped trying. You were hurt, so you built walls. You lost something, so you stopped hoping. But your past doesn't get to decide your future.Peter denied Jesus three times—and Jesus still restored him and gave him work to do.Joseph was betrayed by his brothers—and God still used his story for good.Israel was delivered from Egypt—but still had to stop looking backward.“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” — Isaiah 43:18–19You can acknowledge what hurt you without allowing it to own you.You can grieve what you lost without refusing what God may bring next.Don't make the future pay for what the past did to you.Give it to Christ. Then look forward. There is still joy ahead.Built, Not Felt.#BuiltNotFelt #TheRiseCode #MenWhoFollowChrist #FollowChrist #WalkWithChrist #ChristCentered #Discipleship #MenOfFaith #MenOfGod #FaithAndDiscipline #Jesus #Healing #Hope #Purpose #Joy #TrustGod

You Don't Need to Have It All Figured Out
You keep asking God to show you the whole road. The whole plan. The outcome. The five-year picture. The guarantee that everything will work out.But faith doesn't work like that.“By faith Abraham… obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.” — Hebrews 11:8Psalm 119:105 says His Word is a lamp for our feet — not a floodlight for the entire road.Maybe you don't need more clarity.Maybe you need to take the next step.Pray.Seek wisdom.Get counsel. Then move. You don't need to know how it ends. You need to know who you're following. And if you're following Christ—take the next step.Built, Not Felt.#BuiltNotFelt #TheRiseCode #MenWhoFollowChrist #FollowChrist #WalkWithChrist #ChristCentered #Discipleship #MenOfFaith #MenOfGod #Faith #TrustGod #Purpose #Obedience #Jesus

You Can't Hear God If You Never Get Quiet
We’ve become uncomfortable with silence.Standing in a queue? Scroll.Driving? Podcast.Walking? Music.Eating? YouTube.Have an idea? Ask AI.Feel uncomfortable? Find something to consume.Every empty space gets filled. But what happens when you finally stop?Maybe you hear the thoughts you've been avoiding.Maybe you recognize what needs to change.Maybe you realize what you've been chasing.Maybe, for the first time, you actually become still before God.Jesus “often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” — Luke 5:16And Psalm 46:10 says:“Be still, and know that I am God.”Maybe God isn't silent.Maybe your life is just too loud.Turn it off.Sit in the silence.Pray.Listen.Then follow.Built, Not Felt.#BuiltNotFelt #TheRiseCode #MenWhoFollowChrist #FollowChrist #WalkWithChrist #ChristCentered #Discipleship #MenOfFaith #MenOfGod #FaithAndDiscipline #Jesus #Prayer #Stillness #Discipline #Purpose

The Whole World Is Full of Everybody Else
The whole world is full of everybody else.Everybody else’s success.Everybody else’s timeline.Everybody else’s relationship.Everybody else’s money.Everybody else’s life. And if you aren't careful, you’ll spend your entire life trying to live somebody else's.Peter asked Jesus, “Lord, what about him?”Jesus answered: “What is that to you? You follow me.” — John 21:22That’s the question. Not What is he doing? Not Why am I behind? Not Why doesn't my life look like theirs?Jesus, what are You asking of me?Hebrews 12:2 says to fix our eyes on Jesus.Stop looking sideways.Run the race marked out for you.You don't need their life. You need Christ—and the courage to faithfully live the life He has given you.Built, Not Felt.#BuiltNotFelt #TheRiseCode #MenWhoFollowChrist #FollowChrist #WalkWithChrist #ChristCentered #Discipleship #MenOfFaith #MenOfGod #FaithAndDiscipline #Purpose #Character #Jesus

Your Life Won't Change Until You Do.
You know what needs to change.The habit.The decision.The conversation.The relationship.The way you spend your time.The way you treat your body.The way you spend time with God.And yet, you're still waiting.Waiting for motivation.Waiting for the right time.Waiting for life to get easier.Waiting to feel ready.But your life won't change because you want it to.It changes when you do.James 1:22 says, “Do not merely listen to the word… Do what it says.”You don't need another plan.You don't need another Monday.You need the next obedient step.Repent.Start.Apologize.Forgive.Pray.Work.Say no.Show up.Whatever you already know you need to do...Do it.Your circumstances may not change today.But you can.And sometimes, that's where everything begins.Episode 86 — Your Life Won't Change Until You Do.#BuiltNotFelt #TheRiseCode #MenWhoFollowChrist #FollowChrist #WalkWithChrist #ChristCentered #Discipline #Obedience #FaithAndDiscipline #Discipleship #MenOfFaith #MenOfGod #BiblicalMasculinity #Purpose #Character #Brotherhood #Jesus #LiveForChrist

Wisdom Is Nothing If Not Acted Upon
You probably don't need more information. You know what you should be doing. You know the conversation you need to have. The habit you need to break. The work you need to start. The person you need to forgive. The temptation you need to walk away from. The time you need to spend with God.But knowing isn't the same as doing.James 1:22 says, “Do not merely listen to the word... Do what it says.”Because wisdom that never changes your decisions isn't doing much for you.You can read every book.Listen to every podcast.Study Scripture.Make the plan. But eventually, your feet have to move. You don't need to know the next ten steps. You need to take the next obedient one. This episode is about the uncomfortable gap between knowing what is right and actually doing it — and what happens when you finally close that gap.Stop collecting wisdom. Life is a climb, but the view is great
You’re looking at the mountain and wondering how you’re ever going to reach the top.The business. The body. The marriage. The finances.Your faith. The man you know you’re supposed to become. And sometimes the distance feels overwhelming. But maybe you’re looking at it the wrong way.You don't need to climb the whole mountain today. You need to take the next step.Scripture tells us that trials produce perseverance, perseverance produces character, and character produces hope. The difficult season you're in may not be evidence that you've taken the wrong path.It may be building something in you that comfort never could. So keep walking.Keep praying.Keep working.Keep serving.Keep repenting when you fall.Keep your eyes on Jesus. You don't need to see the entire path. You need to trust the One who does.Because sometimes the mountain isn't in your way.Maybe the mountain is the way.Episode 84 of Built, Not Felt.By The Rise Code.#BuiltNotFelt #TheRiseCode #MenWhoFollowChrist #FollowChrist #WalkWithChrist #ChristCentered #FaithAndDiscipline #Discipleship #MenOfFaith #MenOfGod #Purpose #Perseverance #Character #Discipline #Brotherhood #Jesus #LiveForChrist

The Version of You That Has It All Is a Series of Daily Decisions Away
The man you want to become isn't as far away as you think. The stronger body. The disciplined mind. The deeper faith. The business. The relationships. The peace. The character. You keep looking at the distance between who you are and who you want to be.But what if that distance isn't measured in years? What if it's measured in decisions?Every day, you get another opportunity to cast a vote for the man you're becoming. One workout. One prayer. One hard conversation. One temptation resisted. One promise kept. One hour of focused work. One decision to do the right thing when nobody is watching.None of them feel significant in the moment. But eventually, they become your life. And for the man who follows Christ, this isn't about becoming perfect or earning God's love. It's about obedience. It's about allowing your faith to shape the decisions you make when nobody is watching. You don't have to become that man today. You just have to make the decision he would make today. Then do it again tomorrow.Built, Not Felt.By The Rise Code.#BuiltNotFelt #TheRiseCode #MenWhoFollowChrist #FollowChrist #ChristCentered #Discipline #FaithAndDiscipline #SelfDiscipline #Purpose #Character #Discipleship #MenOfFaith #ChristianMen #DailyDiscipline #PersonalGrowth #Brotherhood #WalkWithChrist

Discipline is freedom, not restriction.
You think discipline is restricting your freedom. The early mornings. The training. The boundaries. The things you say no to.The desires you refuse to obey. But what if you've misunderstood freedom? If you can't control your impulses, your emotions, your appetite, your attention, or your desires — are you really free?Discipline isn't about having fewer choices. It's about becoming strong enough to choose the right ones. And for the man who follows Christ, discipline isn't about earning God's love. It's about learning to live in obedience to the One you already belong to.You don't need another plan. You probably already know what you need to do.The question is whether you'll do it when you don't feel like it.In this episode, we talk about discipline, self-control, obedience, temptation, and the freedom that comes when you stop letting your feelings make your decisions. You don't become free by doing whatever you want. You become free when what you want no longer controls you.Built, Not Felt.By The Rise Code.#BuiltNotFelt #TheRiseCode #MenWhoFollowChrist #FollowChrist #ChristCentered #Discipline #SelfDiscipline #SelfControl #ChristianMen #MenOfFaith #FaithAndDiscipline #BiblicalMasculinity #Discipleship #Purpose #Character #Brotherhood

Who Are You When It Costs You?
You probably like the version of yourself that shows up when life is going well. When you're rested. When you're winning. When people respect you. When nothing is asking too much from you.But what about when you're exhausted? When someone keeps pushing the same button? When doing the right thing makes you unpopular? When someone has nothing to offer you? That's where character gets exposed.Anyone can be kind when they're comfortable.Anyone can be patient when they're winning.Anyone can be loyal when loyalty costs them nothing. But real character shows up when patience runs thin.Real loyalty shows up when you're not popular.Real respect shows up when there's nothing to gain.Maybe the hard moment you're facing isn't an interruption to the test.Maybe the hard moment is the test.Episode 81 of Built, Not Felt.#BuiltNotFelt #TheRiseCode #MenWhoFollowChrist #FollowChrist #WalkWithChrist #ChristLed #ChristCentered #BiblicalMasculinity #MenOfFaith #MenOfGod #Discipleship #Brotherhood #FaithAndDiscipline #Purpose #Discipline #Jesus #LiveForChrist

You're Either a Fountain or a Drain
You're Either a Fountain or a Drain. Most Men Don't Know Which One They Are.Every man leaves something behind after an interaction.Sometimes people leave your presence feeling lighter — encouraged, heard, strengthened.Sometimes they leave carrying more weight than they had when they arrived. The question is: which one are you?In Episode 80 of Built, Not Felt, we examine the difference between being a fountain and being a drain — not through dramatic acts of kindness, but through the ordinary conversations, relationships and moments that reveal where our attention naturally goes.A drain isn't necessarily a bad man. He may be a good man who has simply trained his attention to point inward — toward his problems, his frustrations, his needs and his story.A fountain has learned to look outward. He notices. He asks.He listens. He carries. He leaves people better than he found them.Through Scripture, we explore generosity, humility, brotherhood and the responsibility we have toward the people God has placed around us.Proverbs 11:25 says, “Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”So here's the test:When people spend time with you, do they leave lighter or heavier? This episode is for the man who wants to become more than successful. A man who wants to be useful. A man whose presence strengthens his family, his friendships, his brothers and his team.Because the goal isn't to become the man who needs nothing from anyone. It's to become the kind of man who has something to pour into others. You're either a fountain or a drain. Which one are the people closest to you experiencing?🎙️ Built, Not Felt — Episode 80#BuiltNotFelt #TheRiseCode #MenWhoFollowChrist #FollowChrist #WalkWithChrist #ChristLed #ChristCentered #BiblicalMasculinity #MenOfFaith #MenOfGod #Discipleship #Brotherhood #MensLeadership #FaithAndDiscipline #Purpose #Discipline #Jesus #LiveForChrist

What You're Fighting For and Who You're Fighting It With Is More Important Than Anything.
What You're Fighting For and Who You're Fighting It With Is More Important Than Anything. You can become incredibly disciplined and still be fighting the wrong fight. You can build the business, follow the routine, train your body, hit the numbers and become exceptionally good at the tactics — while never stopping to ask the most important question:What am I actually fighting for?And once you know the answer, there is another question that matters just as much:Who are you fighting it with?In this episode of Built, Not Felt, we go deeper into purpose, discipline, faith, leadership and the people you choose to walk through life with.Inspired by Mark Dowdle's incredible Last Soul Ultra victory, we explore a simple truth: you can accomplish great things alone, but the right people can take you further than you could ever go by yourself. The right team doesn't eliminate the hardship. They help you carry it.The right people don't necessarily make the mission easier. They make a bigger mission possible. And for men following Jesus, this matters even more. We were never called to build our lives around applause, comparison or the approval of the crowd. We are called to know what we're fighting for, know who we're fighting alongside, and keep our eyes fixed on the mission God has placed in front of us.This episode is for the man who is building something. The man who wants more from his life. The man who is tired of drifting. The man who wants discipline with purpose. The man who wants brothers beside him, not spectators around him.The man who wants to become the kind of person others can depend on.You can go alone. Would I Save Jesus From the Cross? NO.
Would I Save Jesus From the Cross? No. He Already Answered That Question Himself. There's a question that gets passed around Christian circles as a kind of heart-check: if you could go back in time and save Jesus from the cross, would you? Almost everyone says yes without thinking twice. Saying no feels cold — almost heretical.I don't think I'd save him. And I don't think he'd want me to.In this episode I walk through why — starting with the fact that Jesus faced this exact question himself, from the inside, and already answered it before any of us turned it into a hypothetical. We look at Peter, the disciple who tried to act on the instinct to save him in real time, out of what looked like pure love — and got called Satan for it. We sit honestly with Gethsemane, where Jesus felt the pull toward another way himself and prayed for it out loud, before arriving somewhere else entirely. And we play the hypothetical all the way out: what you'd actually be left with if the rescue worked. This isn't an episode asking you to feel nothing about the horror of the cross. It's asking whether the instinct to want another way is love — or an unexamined reflex dressed up as love. What we get into:Why Jesus already answered this question in John 12:27 — before it ever became a thought experimentPeter's rebuke in Matthew 16: the sharpest words Jesus gives anyone in the Gospels, aimed at real love pointed the wrong directionGethsemane and the difference between "take this cup from me" and "yet not my will, but yours be done"What saving Jesus from the cross would have actually cost — walked through, not just assertedWhy the easier-sounding answer isn't always the honest oneScripture referenced: John 12:27 · Matthew 16:21-23 · Luke 22:42 · Isaiah 53:10 · Hebrews 9:22 · 1 Corinthians 1:18If your first, honest answer to this question is yes — I think you're standing exactly where Peter stood. I was too, the first time I let myself actually sit with it.Built, Not Felt drops every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.Discipline. Faith. No performance. Built, not felt.

The Secret Ingredient Isn't Nothing. Apart From Him, You Actually Have Nothing.
The Secret Ingredient Isn't Nothing. Apart From Him, You Actually Have Nothing. There's a scene in Kung Fu Panda that gets quoted more than almost anything else in that movie — the secret ingredient in the secret ingredient soup is nothing. Just believe it's special, and it will be.It's a great line for a kids' movie. It does not survive contact with Scripture. In this episode, I hold that phrase up against John 15:5 — "apart from me you can do nothing" — and show you the exact opposite claim, made in almost the same words, by Jesus himself. We talk about why self-manufactured belief works fine in ordinary seasons and completely collapses the moment real pressure shows up. Why a man can build genuine momentum on mirror-talk and affirmations for years — and still find out, in a single drought season, that there was never anything underneath it.This isn't an episode about killing your confidence. It's about finding out where it actually comes from before the year you can't afford to find out the hard way. What we get into:Why "believe it's special and it will be" quietly inverts what Jesus actually saidThe bush in the wasteland vs. the tree planted by water (Jeremiah 17:5-8) — and why one looks fine right up until it doesn'tThe man who hyped himself into a corner: what happens when self-belief meets real failureWhy the daily practice isn't louder self-talk — it's abidingWhat it actually looks like to check your connection to the source before the moment that requires courageScripture referenced: Colossians 1:27 · John 15:5 · 2 Corinthians 3:5 · Jeremiah 17:5-8 · Galatians 2:20 · 2 Corinthians 5:17If you've been running on manufactured belief and it's held up so far — this is the episode for the season before the drought, not the one during it.Built, Not Felt drops every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.Discipline. A Moment of Pain Is Worth a Lifetime of Glory
Some pain you choose. Some pain chooses you.The hard workout. The early morning. The difficult conversation. We understand choosing discomfort because we can see the reward we're working toward. But what happens when the pain arrives without asking? The loss. The betrayal. The relationship that ended. The thing that changed your life without your permission. This episode goes deeper than the usual “pain makes you stronger” message.Because Scripture doesn't tell you to minimize your suffering. It doesn't tell you to rush through grief or pretend you're okay. It tells you to let perseverance finish its work. We look at Romans 8:18, 2 Corinthians 4:17, James 1, Joseph's story, and Christ's endurance of the cross—and the uncomfortable truth that redemption doesn't always happen on our timeline. So if you're carrying pain you never chose, this episode isn't asking you to call it good. It's asking you not to call it meaningless yet.Don't numb it.Don't rush it.Don't force yourself to understand it.Stay honest with God.And let perseverance finish its work.🎙️ Episode 74 — A Moment of Pain Is Worth a Lifetime of Glory.Built. Nothing External Can Beat the Internal
Some of the voices that make you question yourself belong to people who genuinely love you. That's what makes them so hard to ignore.A parent who doesn't understand the vision.A friend who thinks you're being reckless.A brother who remembers who you were and can't see who you're becoming.Their doubt can hurt. But their doubt is not a verdict.Joseph had his brothers.David had Eliab.Jesus had His hometown.Nehemiah had people trying to pull him off the wall.None of them came down. This episode is about learning to hear the people who love you without handing them the deciding vote over your life. You don't have to hate them. You don't have to prove them wrong. You don't even have to stop listening. You just have to know whose voice gets the final word.Stay on the wall.🎙️ Episode 73 — Nothing External Can Beat the Internal. Good vs Nice
Nice and good are not the same word. Ask the Pharisees. If you've ever confused being agreeable with being good — said yes when you meant no, stayed quiet when the truth needed saying, kept the peace instead of confronting what actually needed confronting — this episode is for you. This is Built, Not Felt, a faith-based podcast for men who want biblical manhood without the toxic positivity. One of the best things that happened to me this year was learning to say no. Not out of selfishness — out of finally understanding that a "yes" I didn't mean was never actually kindness. In this episode:Why Jesus — the standard for perfect goodness — was rarely what we'd call "nice" (Matthew 23, John 2)The test that separates real love from self-protection: are you protecting them, or protecting yourself? Why Jesus rebuked Peter, the disciple He loved most, in the sharpest words in the GospelsWhat "let your yes be yes and your no be no" (Matthew 5:37) actually demands of a manHow compassion and hard truth showed up in the same breath in John 8A specific test to run before your next hard conversation — or your next reluctant yesA good man doesn't need everyone to like him. Be Strong Enough to Be Gentle
Be strong enough to be gentle. Hardness was always the easier move. This one's for the man who has never lost an argument, never softened first, never let anyone see him not have it together — and calls that strength. It isn't. Ruling your own spirit is ranked in Scripture as a harder feat than taking a city. Hardness takes no discipline at all. Gentleness is the rep that actually costs you something. In this episode:Why Proverbs 16:32 ranks self-mastery above military conquest — and what that means for the "hard man" you've been trying to beWhat Isaiah's prophecy about a "bruised reed" reveals about how real power treats what's fragileWhy Christ described His own heart as gentle — not His power, His heartThe household that's learned to flinch instead of lean in, and what it actually costs a man to be feared instead of trustedA specific practice for the next moment today your instinct says go hardYou don't need more hardness to prove you're strong. There Is No Tomorrow. You Have Been Living Like You Own One.
There's a scene in Rocky III most people remember as just a training montage. It's actually four words. Rocky says "tomorrow." Apollo cuts him off: "There is no tomorrow."This one's for the man who has a specific conversation, call, or step of faith parked on a day he hasn't been promised — waiting for it to feel more convenient, more ready, more like the right moment. Obsession beats Talent
"Obsession beats talent every single time." You've seen it as a caption. The verse you never actually read
You memorized Philippians 4:13. You never read the sentence before it.This one's for the man who has that verse on a gym shirt, a whiteboard, a bio — reciting it before the pitch, the lift, the hard month, like it's a blank check for whatever he's chasing. It isn't. Paul wrote it from a prison cell, and it's not the opening line of a paragraph about ambition. It's the closing line of a paragraph about contentment. In this episode:Why Philippians 4:13 has nothing to do with limitless achievement — and what Paul actually meant by "all things"What it costs a man when an unmet goal quietly becomes evidence his faith failed (2 Cor 12:9-10)Why James 4:13-15 calls out the exact presumption behind the gym-shirt version of this verseThe difference between strength that removes your limits and strength that meets you inside them (Isaiah 40:29-31)A specific practice to do before you recite this verse again — one that roots you in what's already true, not what you're hoping forWhat contentment actually looks like when it's not passivity (Psalm 131:1-2)You didn't misread the verse because you were careless. You read the half of it someone handed you. Go back and read the whole paragraph — it's a better verse than the one you memorized.New episodes drop every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

The Work Is Behind the Scenes. Competition Is the Easy Part.
The competition is not where the outcome is decided. It is where the outcome is revealed. And right now, behind the scenes, the result is being written. Most men treat the pitch, the moment, the opportunity — the room where everything is on the line — like that is where the work happens. They prepare for the competition. They think about the competition. They imagine success in terms of the competition. And they are losing it before they ever walk in.Because by the time you are standing in the room where it matters, the result is mostly already written. What is happening in front of everyone is the reading of what was decided behind the scenes — in the preparation that was either serious enough or wasn't. In the work done in the quiet seasons when nothing was on the line and no one was watching and there was no immediate reward for doing it well.In Episode 65 of Built, Not Felt, Shannon makes the case that competition is the easy part. The hard part — the part that actually determines the outcome — happened before anyone showed up to watch. What you'll walk away with:— Why the man who wins in the room was built outside it — and what that means about what you should be doing right now— What Paul means in 1 Corinthians 9 when he says everyone who competes goes into strict training — and why hope is not a preparation strategy— The Ecclesiastes 10 principle that explains why more effort in the competition produces less result when the preparation was thin— What Joseph's thirteen years before Pharaoh's court teaches about the kind of behind-the-scenes faithfulness that makes a man ready for a room he did not know was coming— The specific audit to run on your preparation today — and what to do if it is not deep enough for where the competition will demand you performRooted in Scripture (1 Corinthians 9:24-27 · Luke 14:28-30 · Proverbs 21:5 · 2 Timothy 2:15 · Ecclesiastes 10:10 · Genesis 41:39-40) and built for the man who has been investing more in the performance than the preparation — and wondering why the results are not matching the effort. The scoreboard is not visible yet. But it is running. The work is behind the scenes. Competition is the easy part.🎧 New episodes of Built, Not Felt drop every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You Don't Have to Come Back Perfect. You Just Have to Come Back.
You know the way back. You have always known the way back. You are just waiting until you are ready to walk it in the right condition. Stop waiting. The morning practice is gone. Not because you stopped believing. Not because the faith left. Because something heavy landed on you and the structure around it collapsed. And now there is a gap where the meeting used to happen. And every morning the gap stays open, the returning feels a little harder and a little further away. And you are waiting. Waiting until the discipline comes back. Until the season lifts a little. Until you have something worth bringing. Until you can come back the way you used to come — consistent, structured, the full morning devoted to it the way it was before everything got heavy. You are waiting to come back perfect. In Episode 64 of Built, Not Felt, Shannon speaks directly to that man — and makes the case that God is not waiting for the better version of you. He is waiting for you. Now. In whatever condition now finds you in.What you'll walk away with:— Why the father in Luke 15 ran toward his son while he was still a long way off — before the speech, before the apology, before he had cleaned himself up— What Romans 5:8 means about the condition God requires before He moves toward you— Why the broken showing up is the sacrifice — and why God will not despise it— What Matthew 11:28 actually says about who the invitation is extended to — and when— Why one small imperfect morning is enough to start — and how that one win builds the next oneRooted in Scripture (Luke 15:20 · Romans 5:8 · Hebrews 4:16 · Psalm 51:17 · Matthew 11:28-30 · Zephaniah 3:17) and built for the man who knows the way back and keeps finding reasons to wait a little longer before he takes it.You don't have to come back perfect. How to Find Your Way Back When You Don't Know How Far You've Drifted.
You did not give up. Something heavy landed on you. And in the landing, it took the thing that was holding your days together. You know exactly what I am talking about. The routine that was working. The morning that set the tone for everything that followed. The first hour of the day that connected you to something — to God, to purpose, to the version of yourself you were building — before the world had a chance to pull you somewhere else.It is gone. And you do not know exactly when it left. It did not leave on a single day. It drifted. And you drifted with it. And now you are present but not fully there. Moving but not toward anything in particular. Surviving the day rather than building it.This episode is for you.In Episode 63 of Built, Not Felt, Shannon speaks directly to the man who looked up one day and did not recognize where he was — and who does not know how far he has drifted or how to find his way back. What you'll walk away with:— Why the drift is not a moral failure — and what it is actually telling you about the anchor you lost— What the prodigal son's return teaches about the only moment that actually matters — the one where you come to your senses and get up— Why Lamentations 3 means the compassions of God are new tomorrow morning — not when the discipline is restored, not when the season is over, tomorrow morning— Why the road back is shorter than it looks — and why the man who lost the routine is better equipped to rebuild it than the man who built it the first time— The one small thing to do tomorrow morning that starts the return — not the whole routine, just the first piece of itRooted in Scripture (Luke 15:17-18 · Lamentations 3:22-23 · Isaiah 43:18-19 · Psalm 23:3 · Joel 2:25 · Romans 8:38-39) and built for the man who has been in the drift long enough that he is not sure the road back still exists. It does. It has always existed. And it starts with one morning.🎧 New episodes of Built, Not Felt drop every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The Only Work That Matters Is the Work That No One Sees.
The work everyone sees is built on the work no one sees. And right now, the unseen work is the problem. You can post about what you are building before you have built it. You can document the process before the process has produced anything. You can talk about the grind, the vision, the early mornings — and get validation for all of it before a single thing has actually been made. And the validation feels like progress. It registers in the same place. It produces the same momentary satisfaction as actually finishing something. But the work knows the difference. And over time, only one of those men has anything to show for it.In Episode 62 of Built, Not Felt, Shannon names the thing most men in the building space will not say out loud: the performance of work and the work itself are not the same thing. And a man who has been investing in the visible output while the private foundation is thin is building something that will not hold the weight of what he is putting on top of it.What you'll walk away with:— Why God's reward in Matthew 6 is specifically attached to the secret — and what that means for everything you do with your hands— What David was actually building in the field with the sheep before anyone knew who he was— The one question that exposes the gap between your public standard and your private one— Why the man who works as if God is the only audience is the most dangerous kind of builder— How to audit the unseen work today and set the standard where it actually counts — in private, with the door closedRooted in Scripture (Matthew 6:3-4 · Matthew 6:6 · 1 Samuel 16:7 · Luke 16:10 · Colossians 3:23-24 · Proverbs 4:23) and built for the man whose public output is ahead of his private foundation. The only work that matters is the work that no one sees. Your Haters Are Out There Holding Their Breath Waiting for You to Fail. Make Sure They Suffocate.
They are waiting for you to fail. Every day you don't is a day they can't breathe. Keep building. You know who they are. The ones who went quiet when you started winning. The ones who need the thing you are building to not work — not because your failure benefits them in any concrete way, but because your success is a mirror they cannot look away from. They are not rooting against the work. They are rooting against you. Against the proof your life is starting to provide that the excuses they have been making for their own stillness are not as solid as they thought. And you have been shrinking to manage their comfort. In Episode 61 of Built, Not Felt, Shannon makes the case that success is not the best revenge — it is the only response that costs your enemies anything. The argument costs you time. The defense gives them attention. The explanation changes nothing. Success costs them the narrative. And the narrative is all they have. What you'll walk away with:— Why the hatred is not a verdict on your worth — and what John 15 says it actually is— What Nehemiah said when his enemies tried to pull him off the wall — and why it is the cleanest response in Scripture— Why God sets the table in the presence of your enemies, not after they leave— What shrinking to avoid visible failure is actually costing you — and who it is handing the win to— How Joseph turned every person who wanted him to fail into an unwilling participant in his success— How to use the hatred as a signal to go back to the work — not toward them, to the workRooted in Scripture (Romans 12:21 · Nehemiah 6:3 · Psalm 23:5 · Genesis 50:20 · John 15:18-19) and built for the man who has been building smaller to protect himself from the visibility of people who were never in his corner to begin with. They cannot hold their breath forever. When You're Born, You Look Like Your Parents. When You Die, You Look Like Your Decisions.
You did not choose the face you were born with. You are choosing the man you will die as. Every single day.You have a picture of yourself in your head. The man you are. The man you are becoming. A good father. A man of faith. A builder. A man whose word means something. And then there are the decisions. The private ones. The small ones. The ones made on autopilot before you are fully awake. The ones nobody sees. The ones you stopped examining because they stopped feeling like decisions. Those decisions are building a man. The question is whether that man matches the picture in your head.In Episode 60 of Built, Not Felt, Shannon names the most uncomfortable gap in a man's life — the distance between who he says he is and what his daily decisions are actually constructing. And what it costs to keep looking away from it.What you'll walk away with:— Why the man at the end is always a picture of the decisions in the middle — not the intentions— What Galatians 6 means when it says do not be deceived — and why that warning is for you right now— How to audit the decisions you have been making on autopilot and what they are quietly building— The one question to ask before every decision that reorients everything— How to start closing the gap today — not with an overhaul, with one decision made differentlyRooted in Scripture (Galatians 6:7-8 · Proverbs 4:23 · Romans 12:2 · Luke 6:43-44 · Deuteronomy 30:19 · 1 Corinthians 15:33) and built for the man who knows there is a gap between who he says he is and what he is actually doing — and has been looking away from it long enough. When you die, you look like your decisions. If you risk nothing, you become nothing.
You have not been playing it safe. You have been playing it small. And the difference is costing you the man you were supposed to become. He is not lazy. He is not reckless. He is careful. Measured. He protects what he has. He does not make moves he cannot fully justify. And he is quietly disappearing — year by year, decision by decision — every time he chose the option that didn't require him to become more than he already was. This episode is about that man.In Episode 59 of Built, Not Felt, Shannon breaks down the one truth most men have never heard stated clearly enough to actually land: safety is not neutral. It is not a pause. It is not standing still. Chosen consistently, it is a direction — and the direction it moves in is smaller. What you'll walk away with:— Why the servant who buried the talent was called wicked — not because he lost the money, but because he chose safety over faithfulness— What Ecclesiastes 11 says about the man who keeps watching the wind instead of planting— Why safety and faith are almost never the same thing — and what the Bible actually says about men who chose safe over faithful— The specific cost of the risks you didn't take — not in outcomes, but in the man who never got built— What to do today with the thing you have been protecting instead of stakingRooted in Scripture (Matthew 25:24-27 · Luke 19:26 · Proverbs 13:4 · 2 Corinthians 5:7 · Romans 8:31 · Ecclesiastes 11:4) and built for the man who has been calling fear by the name of responsibility for long enough. The conditions are never going to be right. Fear inflates. Action deflates.
You have been making it bigger every day you didn't do it. And it was never that big to begin with. You know the thing. The one that followed you into conversations that had nothing to do with it. The one that woke you up at three in the morning. The one you have rehearsed so many times in your head that by now the version living there barely resembles whatever the thing actually is.And then one day you did it. And somewhere on the other side of it, a quiet thought showed up.That's it?In Episode 58 of Built, Not Felt, Shannon breaks down what is actually happening when a hard thing looks impossible before you do it and manageable the moment you do — and what that gap has been costing you every single day you spent on the wrong side of it.What you'll walk away with:— Why fear inflates and action deflates — and what that means about every hard thing still on your list— What the ten spies and Caleb saw in the same land — and which one you've been listening to— The real cost of anticipation — not just the time, but what the avoidance has been building in you without you realizing it— Why 2 Timothy 1:7 means the fear was never from God — and what that says about who has actually been narrating the obstacle— How to move today before the fear settles — because it doesn't settle before the action. It settles through itRooted in Scripture (2 Timothy 1:7 · Numbers 13 & 14 · Joshua 1:9 · Proverbs 29:25 · 1 John 4:18) and built for the man who has been standing outside something long enough that the door has started to feel like a wall. The thing is not as big as it looks from here. Rest at the End, not in the Middle
You are not resting. You are hiding. And the work you left in the middle knows it.Kobe Bryant said it in five words. Rest at the end. Not in the middle. Most men hear that and nod. Then they go home and do the opposite — and call it balance, call it self-care, call it being realistic about their limits. This episode is going to make that harder to do.In Episode 57 of Built, Not Felt, Shannon breaks down the difference between the rest that makes you stronger and the rest that replaces the work entirely. One is earned. One is an exit. And most men cannot tell the difference because they stopped asking themselves the honest question. What you'll walk away with:— Why the middle is where every man who quits, quits — and what it actually takes to stay in it— What Genesis 2 reveals about earned rest — and the one word that changes everything— Why God renews the strength of the man in motion, not the man who stopped and called it sabbath— The difference between strategic recovery and premature retreat— How to walk back into the thing you've been stepping away from — and why today is the day to do itRooted in Scripture (2 Timothy 2:3-5 · Ecclesiastes 9:10 · Genesis 2:2 · Isaiah 40:31 · 1 Corinthians 9:27 · Nehemiah 4:6) and built for the man who knows he is not finished — and has been resting like he is.The middle does not get easier. No Such Thing As Trying. There's Only Doing or Not Doing.
You are not trying. You are not doing. And somewhere underneath that, you already know it."Trying" is the most socially acceptable form of not doing. Nobody can call you out on it. You're not failing — you're in process. You're not refusing — you're working on it. You are, by all appearances, a man in motion. But the motion is circular. And you have been here before. In this episode of Built, Not Felt, Shannon removes the word "trying" from your vocabulary — not because effort doesn't matter, but because trying is armor. It protects you from the full weight of accountability. And the cost of wearing it is that you never find out what you are actually capable of, because you never fully tested yourself against anything real. What you'll walk away with:— Why trying is a built-in exit strategy — and why God has no patience for it— What Revelation 3 says about the man who is never fully in and never fully out— The parable of the two sons — and which one you actually are right now— Why a sincere yes that produces no action is worse than an honest no— A specific exercise to convert every try in your life into a real decision todayRooted in Scripture (Revelation 3:15-16 · Matthew 5:37 · Joshua 24:15 · James 4:13-14 · Matthew 21:28-31 · Colossians 3:23) and built for the man who has been meaning to get serious about this for longer than he wants to admit.A decision is only a decision when it has eliminated the alternative. The easiest thing in life is to give up
Quitting is the easiest thing you will ever do. That's exactly why it's costing you everything. You're not lazy. You're tired. And the exit is right there — close enough that you've started calling it wisdom, calling it knowing your limits, calling it being honest with yourself. It sounds reasonable. It feels like relief. It isn't.In this episode of Built, Not Felt, Shannon makes the case that easy and right are never the same thing — and that the road being hard is not a signal to stop. It is the road doing its job. The trial is not the enemy of your becoming. It is the mechanism of it.What you'll walk away with:— Why most men quit one season before the harvest arrives— What James 1 actually means when it says to consider trials pure joy — and why that changes everything— The difference between quitting because something is wrong and quitting because something is hard— What the unfinished things you're carrying are actually costing you right now— The one question to ask yourself before you take the exitRooted in Scripture (Galatians 6:9 · James 1:2-4 · Luke 9:62 · Romans 5:3-4 · Hebrews 12:1 · 2 Timothy 4:7) and built for the man who is standing at the exit of something that still has his name on it.The man who finishes is not the man who never wanted to quit. Ideas Don't Come Fully Formed. They Only Get Clear As You Work On Them.
The idea is never going to be ready. You are. You've been sitting on something. You know what it is. And you have a very good reason why now is not the time — the idea isn't clear enough, the plan isn't solid enough, you need to think it through a little more. You have a notebook that proves you're serious. You have a folder on your desktop with four sub-folders inside it. You are not lazy. You are waiting. This episode is for that man.In Episode 54 of Built, Not Felt, Shannon breaks down the most productive lie men tell themselves — that the idea has to be fully formed before you can start. It doesn't. It can't. Clarity is not a prerequisite for motion. It is a reward for it. The work will show you what the thinking never could — but only if you start. What you'll walk away with:— Why waiting for the idea to be ready is fear wearing the mask of wisdom— What Genesis 1:2 reveals about how God moves before form exists — and what that means for how you build— The one question God asked Moses that changes everything about how you think about starting— Why the loaves and fish were never enough — and why Jesus started with them anyway— What beginning actually costs, and why that cost is the point— The one step to take today — not a plan, not a launch, just the beginningRooted in Scripture (Genesis 1:2 · Exodus 4:2 · Proverbs 16:3 · John 6:9 · Philippians 1:6) and built for the man who has been calling delay by every name except its real name. The idea gets clear as you work. Trees Don't Hang With the Grass
You are not betraying anyone by growing.A tree and a blade of grass start from the same seed-level darkness. But one grows down before it grows up — and ends up casting shade over everything that stayed at ground level. The other stays small, calls it loyalty, and never finds out what it was built for.In this episode of Built, Not Felt, Shannon breaks down why staying small to keep the peace isn't humility — it's disobedience wearing a humble costume. If you've ever felt guilty for outgrowing old friendships, old habits, or an old version of yourself, this one is for you. What you'll walk away with:— Why growth always creates distance — and why that distance is not betrayal— How to recognize when you're staying in soil too shallow for who you're becoming— Why some people will resent you for changing, and why that's not your failure to fix— How to rise without bitterness, and grow toward something higher without contempt for what you left behindRooted in Scripture (1 Corinthians 13:11, Proverbs 29:25, Genesis 13:9, John 15:18-19, 1 Corinthians 15:33, Jeremiah 1:5, Romans 12:2, Matthew 5:16) and built for men who are done waiting to feel ready before they grow. This is for the man who's stuck at the starting line — not because he can't move, but because moving means leaving people behind. Real faith. Real discipline. Real growth. Not motivation — transformation.Trees don't hang with the grass. Every Expert Was Once a Beginner
You're not waiting because you're being careful. You're waiting because you're afraid to be seen as a beginner. And that fear has a name: perfectionism. It doesn't show up saying "I am fear." It shows up saying "I have standards." It speaks the language of preparation and quality and readiness — and every man it traps genuinely believes he is being responsible. But here's what perfectionism is at its core: the refusal to be seen as someone who doesn't yet have it figured out. And as long as you're still preparing, still refining, still getting ready — you cannot fail. You also cannot grow. You cannot learn. You cannot build anything real.Michael Jordan was cut from his high school varsity team. He went home and cried. The greatest basketball player who ever lived started as a rejection — and went back to work. J.K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter as a single mother on welfare, typing in cafes while her daughter slept beside her. She was rejected by twelve publishers. She submitted a thirteenth time. Steve Jobs started Apple in a garage. Warren Buffett made his first investment at eleven and said he wished he'd started sooner.None of them waited to be ready. None of them waited to be good. They were beginners. They began. And the beginning is what built them into everything you know them for today. The Bible doesn't have a single story of a man God called who was ready. Moses said he couldn't speak. Gideon called himself the weakest man in the weakest clan. David was a shepherd boy with a sling and five stones who had never fought a battle. God didn't wait for the qualified. He called the unqualified and built them through the assignment.1 Corinthians 1:27 says God chose the weak to shame the strong. The qualification comes from the obedience. Not the other way around. This episode is for two men. The man who hasn't started yet — and the man who started and is thinking about stopping. Both of them need to hear the same truth: this is what the beginning looks like. Uncertain. Slow. Imperfect. This is not a sign you chose the wrong road. This is what the right road feels like at the start.Galatians 6:9 — do not grow weary. The harvest is coming. The only condition is this: do not give up.The world does not remember the men who waited until they were ready. It remembers the men who began.Your beginning is waiting for you.Built. The World Is Your Library
Kobe Bryant said it best: "The world becomes your library to help you improve your craft."Not a course. Not a certification. Not the mentor you haven't found yet. Not when life slows down or conditions get better. The world. Right now. As it is.But here's the man this episode is for: the one who says he'll really study his craft when he has more time. When things settle. When he's more ready. That man isn't being responsible. He's falling behind. And the library he needs has been open this whole time.In this episode we go deep on what it actually means to make the whole world your teacher — and why waiting to be ready is the most sophisticated form of self-sabotage there is. Not laziness. Something more dangerous. A lie dressed as wisdom.I share how my own education has worked — across books, podcasts, failure, real conversations, and seasons that broke me open. No formal curriculum. No structured program. Just a man who decided he was always in school and the campus was everywhere. We break down the five libraries most men walk past every single day — failure, people, Scripture, their own present season, and the mastery of other crafts — and exactly how to start reading them. And we bring it back to faith. Because James 1:5 says ask God for wisdom and it will be given. But God rarely sends wisdom directly. He sends the situation that contains it. The book at the right moment. The person who says the thing you needed to hear. The failure that cracks open the understanding. The wisdom is given. It's packaged in the library. You have to be in it to receive it.What we cover:— The Kobe Bryant philosophy of mastery that most people quote but never actually live— Why readiness doesn't precede learning — learning produces readiness— The five libraries you're walking past every day— How I've been building my education without formal study— The student posture that makes continuous growth inevitable— How faith and the pursuit of wisdom are inseparableProverbs 18:15. Ecclesiastes 11:4. Romans 8:28. Proverbs 19:20. James 1:5.You are not waiting to be ready. You are already enrolled.Go study.Built. My Story — Why I Started The Rise Code
Episode 50: My Story — Why I Started The Rise CodeThis is a milestone episode. And I'm not marking it with a concept or a framework. I'm marking it with the truth about where I came from. For the longest time, I prayed every night. I showed up. I believed. And nothing changed. Not because God wasn't listening. But because I was missing half the equation. Then I found James 2:17: "Faith without works is dead."That verse broke something open in me. I wasn't lacking faith. I was lacking action. And the moment those two things came together, everything started to move.In this episode, I share my full story — the years of staying stuck, the person God placed in my life last August who changed the way I see myself, the decision to start posting on YouTube when I was soft-spoken and couldn't hold a conversation, and why I finally stopped waiting for the right conditions and started the podcast anyway.I talk about leaving a company I spent five years building — and why that had to fall apart before I could see my real purpose. I talk about mustard seed faith. About what Napoleon Hill and Neville Goddard have in common with the Bible. About the moment I understood that what you believe, you become. This episode is personal. The Road to Heaven Often Feels Like Hell, and the Road to Hell Often Feels Like Heaven
Episode 49: The Road to Heaven Often Feels Like Hell, and the Road to Hell Often Feels Like HeavenThe alarm goes off at 4am. Your body says stay. The bed is warm. The room is cold. Every nerve in you calls the comfortable choice the right one.And the man who sleeps in? His morning feels like peace. This is the trap. And most men never see it.In this episode, we sit with one of the most uncomfortable truths a man can face — your feelings are not a compass. They are a trap. The road that feels like punishment is often the one that builds you. The road that feels like freedom is often the one that quietly empties you.We break down the three-faced system working against you: the pull of comfort and ease, the seduction of instant gratification, and the world's definition of success that looks like ambition but leads nowhere worth going. Three faces. One destination. And none of it feels destructive while it's happening — that's the genius of the wide road.Matthew 7:13 says the road that leads to life is narrow, and only a few find it. Not because it's hidden. Because it feels wrong on the way there. We walk through what discipline actually feels like from the inside — the doubt, the isolation, the valley between the sacrifice and the harvest. We look at Proverbs 14:12, Hebrews 12:11, Romans 8:18, and Galatians 6:8 — and we ask the only question that matters: not how does this feel now, but where does this road actually go?This episode won't hype you up. It will slow you down long enough to see clearly.Enter through the narrow gate. Not because it feels like life. But because you know, by now, where it goes.Built. You Are Somebody Now
You Are Somebody NowAt one of his events, Gary Vaynerchuk was approached by a woman who said:"I know someday I will be somebody."Gary replied:"You're somebody now."Four words. One truth.Because most of us are trapped in "someday."Someday I'll be successful.Someday I'll be confident.Someday I'll start the business.Someday I'll pursue my dreams.Someday I'll be happy. But someday is a trap. It feels productive, but it's really procrastination dressed as hope. While we're waiting for tomorrow, we're missing the only moment we actually have—today. In this episode of The Rise Code, we explore the danger of living for "someday" and the freedom that comes when you realize your worth, purpose, and identity are not in the future. You are somebody now.Drawing from Scripture and practical wisdom, we uncover why your value isn't based on your achievements, status, money, or followers—but on who God says you are.• Why "someday" is one of life's greatest traps• Why your identity isn't something you earn• The danger of postponing your purpose• How waiting steals your life one day at a time• Why you don't need permission to begin• Four steps to break free from the "someday" mindset• How to start living fully todayRecognize the lie – Someday is an illusion. Today is all you have.Accept who you are now – You don't need to become somebody. You already are somebody.Stop waiting for permission – You are ready enough to begin.Take action today – One decision can change everything.• Matthew 6:34• 2 Corinthians 5:17• Ephesians 2:10• Psalm 118:24• 1 Peter 2:9• Philippians 3:13-14"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." — Psalm 118:24Write down everything you've been waiting for "someday" to do.Then choose one thing. Not tomorrow. Not when conditions are perfect.Today.Because you are not waiting to become somebody. You are somebody now.And perhaps the only permission you've been waiting for… is your own.The Rise Code is a podcast dedicated to faith, discipline, purpose, growth, and becoming a self-governed man who refuses to drift through life.#TheRiseCode #YouAreSomebodyNow #Purpose #Faith #ChristianPodcast #PersonalGrowth #Discipline #Mindset #IdentityInChrist #SelfImprovement #PurposeDrivenLife #SpiritualGrowth #Leadership #Motivation #BiblicalWisdom #MensGrowth #SelfGoverned #ChristianMen #LiveWithPurpose #StopWaiting #StartNow #PersonalDevelopment #KingdomMindset #FaithAndDiscipline #GrowthMindset

Sleep is the cousin of Death
Sleep Is the Cousin of DeathYou're asleep. Not physically—but spiritually, mentally, and purposefully. Most people think they're living, but they're simply going through the motions. Work. Bills. Entertainment. Distraction. Comfort. They have a reputation of being alive, yet they're asleep to the life God called them to live.In this episode of Built, not Felt, we explore the danger of complacency, spiritual sleep, and lukewarm living. Through biblical wisdom and practical application, you'll discover why comfort can quietly destroy purpose and why waking up is a daily decision.Drawing from Ephesians 5, 1 Thessalonians 5, Proverbs 1, and Revelation 3, we examine the church at Sardis—a church that appeared alive but was actually dead—and uncover the warning that still applies today.• Why most people are spiritually asleep• How complacency destroys growth and purpose• The danger of having a reputation without substance• Why lukewarmness is more dangerous than being cold• What it means to redeem your time• How to live intentionally instead of drifting• A practical three-step framework to wake up and start livingRecognize you're asleep – Be honest about where you've been going through the motions.Understand the cost – Every day spent in complacency is time that can never be recovered.Take immediate action – Start now. One decision. One action. One step toward purpose."Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." — Ephesians 5:14• Ephesians 5:14-16• 1 Thessalonians 5:6• Revelation 3:1-3• Revelation 3:15-16• Proverbs 1:32Identify one area where you're asleep.Understand what it's costing you. Then take one action to wake up.Because sleep is the cousin of death. And if you're not fully awake, you're slowly drifting through the life you were meant to live. The Rise Code is dedicated to discipline, growth, faith, purpose, and becoming a self-governed man committed to living intentionally.#TheRiseCode #WakeUp #Purpose #Faith #SpiritualGrowth #PersonalDevelopment #Discipline #Mindset #SelfImprovement #ChristianPodcast #BiblicalWisdom #Leadership #Motivation #Growth #IntentionalLiving

Best Question to Why? Why Not
Best Question to Why? Why NotYou know the problem with most men? They ask the wrong question. They ask, "Why can't I?""Why isn't this working?""Why am I stuck?"And the result is predictable: they stay stuck. But there's a better question. Why not?Every person who accomplished something remarkable first asked, "Why not me? Why not now? Why not this?" They refused to let fear and limitations decide their future. In this episode, we explore the power of changing your questions—and how the question you ask determines the direction of your life.We look at Caleb in the Bible. While ten spies focused on the obstacles and asked, "Why can't we?" Caleb had a different spirit. He trusted God, embraced the challenge, and inherited the Promised Land while the others died in the wilderness. We also examine modern examples of people who asked "Why not?" and changed their industries: Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Reed Hastings, Satya Nadella, and Oprah Winfrey. Most importantly, we ground everything in Scripture.2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to trust in the Lord and not lean on our own understanding.Joshua 1:9 commands us to be strong and courageous. This isn't motivational talk. It's biblical.Identify the "Why"Recognize the limitation you've accepted.Flip It to "Why Not?"Challenge the assumptions that have kept you small.Take One Small ActionMove forward with one step this week.Questions shape reality. The question you ask determines the life you live.Fear is not from God. Power is.The greatest tragedy isn't failure—it's allowing fear to rob you of your potential, purpose, and legacy. You don't have to live in that prison.Have a different spirit.Trust God.Take the step.Claim your inheritance.Because the best answer to "Why?" is often:"Why not?"• Most men ask "Why can't I?" and remain stuck.• "Why not?" shifts your mind from limitation to possibility.• Caleb's faith separated him from the ten spies.• God gave us power, not fear.• Trust God even when you can't see the entire path.• Small actions create big changes.• Questions shape reality.• Your potential, purpose, and legacy are too valuable to surrender to fear.Challenge of the Week:Write down one limitation you've accepted. Then ask:"Why not?"And take one small step toward the answer.#SelfGovernedMen #FaithAndDiscipline #ChristianMen #BiblicalMasculinity #TheRise #Mindset #Purpose #Leadership #ChristianPodcast #Discipline #PersonalGrowth #Faith #WhyNot

All Achievement, All Earned Riches, Have Their Beginning in an Idea
All achievement and all earned riches have their beginning in an idea.Every empire, company, and fortune started as a thought. Ideas are free. Anyone can have them. But achievement belongs to those who act on them.In this episode of The Rise Code, we explore five powerful truths:• Ideas are the foundation of all achievement• Your thinking determines your reality• Execution matters more than inspiration• Ideas are worthless without action• Ideas compound and build on each otherGrounded in Scripture, we examine verses such as Proverbs 23:7 ("As a man thinks in his heart, so is he") and Proverbs 29:18 ("Where there is no vision, the people perish"), showing how vision, thinking, and creativity are essential to growth. We also look at real-world examples of people who transformed ideas into extraordinary achievements:• Jack Ma — Alibaba• Arianna Huffington — The Huffington Post• Brian Chesky & Joe Gebbia — Airbnb• Jan Koum — WhatsApp• Evan Spiegel — Snapchat• Daniel Ek — Spotify• Katrina Lake — Stitch FixEach followed the same pattern:Idea → Evaluation → Action → Persistence → AchievementMost people fail at evaluation or action. They either think forever or act without direction. The balance is key. This episode provides practical guidance for capturing ideas, evaluating opportunities, and taking the first steps toward turning thoughts into reality.Because all achievement begins in an idea—but ideas require action.Your challenge:Write down one idea you've been thinking about. Evaluate it honestly. Then take one small action this week. That's all. Great things often begin with small steps.#TheRiseCode #Ideas #SuccessMindset #Entrepreneurship #PersonalDevelopment #SelfImprovement #Discipline #Achievement #BusinessMindset #GrowthMindset #PurposeDriven #ChristianPodcast #BibleWisdom #FaithAndWork #Vision #Leadership #SuccessPrinciples #Riches #Legacy #Mindset

Fear is self-imposed
Fear is self-imposed. Not fear of physical danger. Not fear of real threats. I'm talking about the fear that stops you from pursuing your dreams. The fear that keeps you from starting your business. The fear thatkeeps you from having the conversation. That fear is self-imposed. You created it. You're maintaining it. And you can uncreate it. What You'll Learn: - Fear is a choice, not a circumstance. It's not somethingthat happens to you. It's something you choose. You choose to imagine a negative outcome. You choose to believe it will happen. You choose to act as if it's real. And that choice is yours. - Fear is imagination. Fear is almost always about somethingthat hasn't happened yet. You're imagining a future outcome and then acting as if it's real. The fear is real, but the threat is imaginary. And if you can imagine failure, you can imagine success. Fear is self-protection. Fear evolved as a survivalmechanism. It's designed to protect us from real threats. But in modern life, most threats are not real. We use fear to protect ourselves from judgment, from failure, from rejection—things that won't kill us. - Fear is limitation. Self-imposed fear is the biggestlimitation on human potential. More people are stopped by fear than by any other factor. Fear keeps us small, safe, and unfulfilled. - Fear is a sign. Fear is often a sign that something isimportant to you. Fear is often a sign that you're on the edge of growth. Fear is often a sign that you're about to do something meaningful. - Scripture on fear and courage, including 2 Timothy 1:7("For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind"), Proverbs 29:25 ("Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe"), and Joshua 1:9 ("Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous"). - Five practical steps to challenge self-imposed fear:acknowledge it, question it, reframe it, act despite it, and reflect on what happened. The Core Message: Fear is self-imposed. You created it. You're maintainingit. And you can uncreate it. The choice is yours. The power is yours. The future is yours. Don't let self-imposed fear stop you from pursuing yourdreams. Don't let self-imposed fear stop you from becoming who you're meant to be. Act despite fear. And watch what happens.

Impossible is Not a Fact; It's an Opinion
Impossible is Not a Fact; It's an Opinion. Impossible is Not a Declaration; It's a Dare. When someone says something is impossible, they're notstating a fact. They're stating an opinion. An opinion based on their current knowledge, their current resources, their current perspective. But it's not a fact. And opinions can be challenged. In this episode, we explore three critical angles of thisprinciple: the difference between opinion and fact, impossible as a dare, and how what was impossible yesterday becomes possible today. What You'll Learn: - The difference between a fact (objectively true, verifiable, unchangeable) and an opinion (a belief or judgment based on perspective and experience). When someone says "it's impossible," they're stating an opinion, not a fact. - How "impossible" is actually a dare. When someone says something is impossible, they're not just stating a limitation. They're testing your commitment, revealing their own limitations, and giving you an opportunity to do something extraordinary. - How what was impossible yesterday becomes possible today through innovation, effort, and belief. Vaccines were once impossible.Antibiotics were once impossible. Heart transplants were once impossible.Flight was once impossible. Now, they're routine. - Real-world examples of people who did what was calledimpossible: Roger Bannister breaking the four-minute mile, Steve Jobs making personal computers mainstream, Oprah Winfrey building an empire from poverty, Elon Musk making electric cars practical, Sara Blakely building a billion-dollar company, Muhammad Ali becoming a champion, Cristiano Ronaldo becoming one of the greatest athletes despite being told he was too small. - Scripture on faith and possibility, including Mark 9:23("Everything is possible for one who believes"), Matthew 19:26("With man this is impossible, but with God all things arepossible"), Philippians 4:13 ("I can do all this through him whogives me strength"), and Proverbs 23:7 ("As a man thinks in hisheart, so is he"). The Core Message:When someone says something is impossible, they're notrevealing a truth about the world. They're revealing a truth about themselves. They're revealing the limits of their own knowledge, their own resources, their own perspective. But that doesn't mean it's impossible for you. Throughout history, people have taken on the dare. They'veheard "it's impossible" and they've said "watch me." Andthey've done the impossible. The question for you is: What have you been told is impossible? What dare are you going to accept?
