The devil often uses the tool of discouragement to get us to fall back into futile ways of living. We see today in the psalms that a tool to overcome discouragement is to worship and praise the Lord in all circumstances.

Enlightened Understanding
As we continue to discuss this idea of futile thinking, we see often how we are tempted to fall back into our old patterns of life. We see how sin darkens our mind and we ask for the grace to resist temptations so our minds may be enlightened by Christ.

Futility of the Mind
This week we take up a section in Ephesians 4 where Paul discusses and describes the reality of the futile minds of those who don’t know Christ. We ask the Lord to deliver us from futile ways of thinking.

The Glory of Heaven
In contrast to hell, today we read about the glory that awaits us in Heaven. While we should desire to avoid hell, our desire should be more and more to see the face of God and this should spur us on in our spiritual journeys.

Unquenchable Fire
As we continue through Thessalonians 1, we read about the unquenchable fire of hell. As disciples, we need to come into knowledge of the reality that there is a hell and those who do not turn to Jesus will go there.

God's Justice
Along with God’s judgments come His justice. Every judgement that he makes and will make will be an act of perfect justice. As we grow in discipleship, we lobe for God’s justice to come upon the earth, and even upon ourselves.

Righteous Judgement
Today through St. Paul, we discuss God’s righteous judgement that will come with the appearance of Jesus. This righteous judgement is the wisdom of God and we ask for the spiritual maturity to desire it.

Growing in Love
This week we dive into 2 Thessalonians 1 where Paul is writing to the Thessalonians in the midst of their suffering. As we read, we are encouraged by their faith and their growth in love for each other even in their suffering.

Undivided Hearts
As we wrap up this week, we are encouraged to love God without whole hearts. This leaves us united with Him, keeping our hearts undivided in affection.

Ask for Wisdom
Today we learn that wisdom is seeing as God sees. We ask Him for supernatural vision, to see others, our lives, and our sufferings with His supernatural vision.

Spiritual Maturity
Staying faithful to the Lord during times of trials and sufferings ultimately produces in us spiritual maturity. Each one of us needs to grow in it.

Steadfastness
As we continue in James, we hear about what it takes to stay faithful and steadfast to the Lord throughout our spiritual journey. Regardless of our circumstances, we ask for the grace to stay faithful to Jesus.

Occasions for Joy
This week we dive into James 1 and receive some very practical wisdom for living the Christian life. We ask the Holy Spirit to open our hearts to receive what the Lord wants us to hear about our trials and sufferings.

All Power and Authority
Through this first chapter of Mark, we see that the Father has given Jesus authority over all. His healing of the demonically possessed man brings those watching into some understanding that Jesus is not just another rabbi.

Astonished and Amazed
After calling His disciples, Jesus preaches and teaches in the synagogue. As he teaches, people are in awe of how he teaches and they wonder at who he could be.

Drop Your Nets
When Jesus calls people to follow Him, they leave everything to follow Him immediately. Today we reflect on how Jesus invites us to drop our nets and respond radically to Him.

Follow Me
As Jesus begins his public ministry, he approaches the disciples and calls them to follow Him. Today we reflect on Jesus’ call to each one of us.

The Time is Fulfilled
This week we dive into Mark 1 where we see Jesus beginning his public ministry. As he goes out preaching, he announces the coming of the Kingdom of God to earth through Himself.

The Inheritance of Jesus
The Holy Spirit brings us into the very life of God. Part of this is giving us access to all that Jesus has! This is amazing news and we ask the Holy Spirit to help us live in this reality.

Right Judgement
In addition to convicting us of sin, the Holy Spirit gives us eyes to see God as He is. As we see the Lord, the Holy Spirit brings right judgement to the world and to each one of our hearts and invites us to respond.

Conviction of Sin
When the Holy Spirit begins to work in our lives, we become more aware of the sin in our lives. As we are more open to the Spirit’s work, we become more and more convicted of our sins.

The Counselor
As we continue in John 16, Jesus describes the sending of the Holy Spirit. He tells His disciples that the Holy Spirit will be the counselor who leads us into truth.

The Better Way
This week we dive into John16 and listen to Jesus’ teaching on the sending of the Holy Spirit. We begin with Jesus telling His disciples that it is better that He goes away and we ask ourselves if we really believe that God’s way is better.

More Than Conquerors
We finish this week by proclaiming Romans 8, that we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ who loves us. We immerse ourselves in this truth and ask the Holy Spirit to help us believe the power of God’s love for us.

Look for Proof
Continuing to take every thought captive and replace them with God’s Word, we are encouraged today through Romans 5 to look for proof that God loves us. We see this proof through Jesus’ death on the cross.

A Living Hope
Today we dive into Peter’s letters, as we read that we have been born into a living hope. We ask the Holy Spirit to help us hold onto this hope that we have in Christ Jesus.

Crucified with Christ
As we continue our week in the spiritual battle, we turn to Galatians 2. Here we read that we have been crucified with Christ and live through Him. In this reality we find our strength, that our life is being lived through Him.

Knowledge, Hope, Power
This week we go through different scripture passages that help us to enter into the spiritual battle. Today We read in Ephesians 1 that we can have deeper knowledge of God, great hope in Christ, and power through the Holy Spirit.

Seek the Kingdom
When we trust that the Lord has everything we need, we are able to live in a way that seeks God’s kingdom before all else. We ask the Holy Spirit to help us live in confidence, so that we can follow the ways of the Lord.

Consider the Lilies
Jesus uses the analogy of caring for the birds and the lilies as a way to show us how much he loves and cares for us. As we consider this, we ask the Holy Spirit to help us see the ways God is caring for us.

Valuable to God
Today we see that Jesus reassures the disciples and us of how valuable we are to Him. When we believe this truth, we live from a place of peace and confidence.

Wants and Needs
As we continue this week and examine how much we trust Jesus, the Holy Spirit helps us to see the things we desire and the things we actually need.

Trust Vs Control
This week we begin to discuss Jesus’ command to his disciples to not be anxious about anything. As we hear his words, we ask ourselves if we are living out of a place of trusting God or needing to control our lives.

Mind, Soul and Strength
As we wrap up this week with Ali Hoffman, we continue Jesus’ command to love Him with everything we have. Our hearts, minds, souls, and strength should all be confirmed to him and at the service of him.
