When we deserved justice, the Lord showed us grace and kindness. In 2 Samuel 8–10, David was establishing his kingdom in Jerusalem. Remembering his covenant with Jonathan, David sought out Jonathan's son, Mephibosheth, and showed him extraordinary kindness. Peter was given a specific understanding from the Lord Jesus from which Pastor Lloyd wants us to learn: like Peter, we can grow closer to the Lord and overcome fear and doubt in the process. After the amazing healing of a man born blind, John records yet another miraculous sign, given as another convincing proof that Jesus is who he says. This is the account of Lazarus, who became sick and then died. Jesus, the good shepherd, now shows that he is also the resurrection and the life when he raises Lazarus from the dead. Pastor Lloyd takes a close look at Jesus’ rather curious response to Lazarus’ sisters, Martha and Mary who believe, contrasted with the religious leaders who plot to kill him.

John’s entire gospel is one of belief, and Pastor Lloyd encourages its daily study. In this passage, Nicodemus has come to Jesus at night with a question. Nicodemus states his belief that Jesus comes from God. Jesus tells Nicodemus his belief must be followed by a new birth to enter the kingdom of God. In this passage, Pastor Lloyd explains how the events of Genesis are being confirmed by modern science and the study of DNA that traces all men back to one man and all women back to one woman. He references the book, “Traced,” by Nathaniel Jeanson, and explains the variety of characteristics that are possible through DNA, happening over hundreds of years, not millions of years as evolutionists say. The Bible’s brutal honesty about sin and our fleshly downfalls further adds to its credibility. Pastor Lloyd warns how Marxist theory is being repackaged and making its way into our schools and public education but in the end, truth wins.

The account of the flood is meant to remind us that God judges evil. But one day it will stop, and the flood is proof that God keeps his promises. With this fresh start for Noah and his family comes change: a new diet, fear upon all the animals, respect for life, judgment for shedding the blood of one’s fellow man, and a new promise, signified by the rainbow, to never again destroy the earth by flood. As the promise of the rainbow is commandeered and redefined, Pastor Lloyd reminds us that as the culture declines, God’s word remains true.

At this time in ancient history, there could have been anywhere from 10-50 billion people on the earth. As the populations grew, things turned dark because of evil on the earth. Pastor Lloyd explains a bizarre passage that says, “the sons of God took wives for themselves.” The wickedness at that time was great, not unlike today, as the Bible warned it would be. God sent a rescuer, Noah, and one day soon, there will be a great and final rescue. Meanwhile, we share the deliverance that comes only through Jesus.

In this genealogy of 10 names, 1000-1500 years of history is represented and each name has a special significance, as does your name. This message follows the descendants of Seth; pastor Lloyd supplies significant background information, including the meaning behind the names. The evil that was in the world then and which we see now is evidence of God’s patience and love says Pastor Lloyd. He explains how modern genetics points back to a young earth and confirms the veracity of this book of beginnings, Genesis. Surprisingly, hidden in the names of Seth’s descendants we find the message of the entire gospel.

In this passage is a picture of two world religions; God’s and the religion of Cain which does as it wants. The religion of Cain brings a curse, but Jesus removes the curse when we are born again. Pastor Lloyd points out the mercy of God where even with the curse, God gives Cain protection he doesn’t deserve. In this passage, Pastor Lloyd explains where Cain’s wife comes from, explores the meaning of Cain’s son’s name, Enoch, talks about his lineage and the brilliance of these descendants who invented music and musical instruments.

In this book of “firsts,” we find that a thread of redemption weaves through the pages of Genesis. This is the account of Cain and Abel who bring their offerings, as has been their practice, but in these verses, something changes. Cain’s own ideas of sacrifice are not God’s. Will we follow God’s word or will we do our own thing? Wrong turns can be costly and we read the words of warning here and God’s appeal to reconsider. We look at what it means to be our brother’s keeper and the consequences of not caring.

For a powerful foundation for understanding human nature and the world around you, this study in Genesis is essential. Because of sin, God sends his son not to wield power and control, but to lay his life down as a servant. Pastor Lloyd examines the many ramifications of sin including death (which was not part of God's original plan) and also looks at what modern science and the fossil record tells us in relation to the Biblical record.

If you wonder why the world is as it is, read the first eleven chapters of Genesis where the idea that you can be your own God originated. When Adam and Eve took of the fruit, they were spiritually corrupted; in shame, they tried to hide from God, but God sees everything. When we try to cover our sin and hide, or justify ourselves instead of confessing our wrong, a strong-hold is created. With confession and forgiveness comes freedom from shame and bondage and this is the death-blow to the curse.

How did the world come to be in the state that it's in right now? Where did evil come from? The answer begins with a serpent that's very cunning. With the serpent's lie came the fall of man along with a third of the angels. Pastor Lloyd dissects the exchange between Eve and the serpent in the garden, where the Bible records the first lie. The next lie is especially sinister and is reflected in the New Age teaching that we can be our own god. Two Worldviews are represented; who will we trust?

This passage begins with the words of the Lord God when he said it is not good for man to be alone. God's idea from the beginning was a strong union between a man and a woman in marriage. In this kind of committed relationship, we learn to serve and to give of ourselves, becoming more like Christ, not to be subservient but to help, cherish and love. This message also covers Adam's role of naming and classifying the animals and the creation of woman from Adam's rib.

These chapters of Genesis are the most attacked scriptures today because of the foundational doctrine it presents. Some attack it as myth, others water it down, but the Bible is very different from myths and pagan theology. In this message, Pastor Lloyd outlines many of these distinctions. Taking a deep dive into the creation of man, life in the Garden and the significance of the Sabbath rest, Pastor Lloyd also teaches the value of work and why man is special, different, and valued above the rest of God's creation.

Now we look at the pinnacle of creation and the preeminence God has given uniquely to man. This segment takes a look at the many attributes and qualities that sets man apart from animals. Today's culture reflects a pagan mindset which Pastor Lloyd addresses here and he explains why evolution over millions of years and its survival-of-the-fittest concept is a violation of the character of God. Make no mistake; God cares about how we view life. This series looks at how God's character is revealed in the details of His creation.

When "science" contradicts scripture, we as Christians should be driven to study and search out the truth. That's the reason for this series says Pastor Lloyd. He begins with the fifth day of creation and emphasizes a particular line that is repeated six times in five verses. He delves into DNA and its digital code with a built-in factory that repairs itself to make our body function from every cell. This is just one thing we have learned since Darwin's 160-year old theory of evolution and the "simple cell." This message concludes with a spiritual twist on "survival of the fittest."

Now we look at the absolute genius and brilliance of what God has written about the earliest beginnings. This is the account of the expanse God created, separating the waters and the appearance of dry land that followed on day two. Pastor Lloyd talks about the unique properties of water, the magnetic field of Earth, and the problems the evolutionists have when it comes to their old-earth presuppositions. We learn of the genius shown in plants (day three) and the creation of lights and constellations in the heavens on day four, the effect of the moon on earth's tides, and more.

Genesis is the foundation for every major teaching of the Bible. We begin with a deep look at, "In the beginning." In this series, Pastor Lloyd presents a Biblical and scientific framework for why we can confidently believe the creation account as written. Be awestruck at God's amazing handiwork and be encouraged by the veracity of the truth it contains. This is the clarion call to a course correction and to be a voice of truth in a culture gone astray.

As we continue our examination of the Holy Spirit, we find our understanding is "off" unless we think of Him in the Biblical way as a divine person. This perspective compels us to ask not how can I get more of the Holy Spirit, but rather, how can the Holy Spirit have more of me. This is made more clear as Pastor Lloyd delves into Jesus' words from John, chapter fourteen and chapter sixteen. We also look at His personality by knowing His various names revealing His characteristics, His divine attributes and His very deity.

This message begins with an amazing testimony from Philip Reardon who served 30 years for murder. He was led to Christ at Trenton State Prison which became his mission field as he led many in Bible studies and to born-again relationships of their own. In this third message on the Holy Spirit, Pastor Lloyd teaches from a single passage in Romans, chapter eight, "For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God."

These final chapters of Judges reveal the personal and spiritual condition of the people of this time. Repeatedly in Judges, we read, "Everyone did what was right in his own eyes." We see similarities in our culture today, casting off all restraint from truth, creating one's own reality, narcissism. We see that the people have drifted from God and so has their leadership. Personal faith is at an all-time low. This is where we begin our study in Judges chapters seventeen and eighteen.

This passage begins with a Pharisee's question about when the kingdom of God would come. Pastor Lloyd says every Believer needs to understand how to answer the nay-sayers of our culture who say that this kingdom of God is not real, it's in our imagination. Shortly after being radically saved in 2009, Cory began attending Calvary Chapel Fort Bragg, CA and began his journey into ministry. Serving in a variety of roles including Usher Ministry, Sunday School, and Youth Group, he soon found himself hosting Men’s Fellowships in his home, in addition to community Bible studies in a neighboring town.Pastor Cory and his wife were married soon after in 2011.
