A year after David's adultery with Bathsheba and the murder of Uriah, it appears he has hidden his sin. But while he concealed it from others, he could not hide from God. The Lord sends Nathan to confront David, leading him to repentance. Though David faces the consequences of his sin, God graciously restores him and blesses David and Bathsheba with Solomon.

David, a man after God’s own heart who conquered Goliath and defeated Philistine armies, fell into the trap of lust. Pastor Lloyd warns that there is often danger after great victories. David should have been fighting alongside his men, but instead, he stayed home and entertained temptation. Rather than resisting it, he walked into the night and embraced it, then brutally covered up his sin. The same danger exists today when we are left alone with our screens and confronted with temptation. Pastor Lloyd highlights the importance of considering the consequences of our choices. No matter our victories or strengths, we are helpless without God. Though David was stained by sin, as we all are, the sacrifice of Christ is able to wash us white as snow.

Pastor Brien Dunphy will be sharing a message titled "Theology of Theologies," offering insight into the theological foundations that shaped Paul's ministry and continue to impact the Church today.

When we deserved justice, the Lord showed us grace and kindness. In 2 Samuel 8–10, David was establishing his kingdom in Jerusalem. Remembering his covenant with Jonathan, David sought out Jonathan's son, Mephibosheth, and showed him extraordinary kindness. Pastor Lloyd highlights this beautiful picture of God's grace toward us through Jesus Christ, who has shown us mercy and invited us to sit at His table as His children. To reject such a gift would be foolish.

Pastor Robert will kick off the series with a message from Acts 9 titled, “From Persecutor to Preacher,” looking at the powerful conversion of Saul of Tarsus and how God can radically transform any life for His glory.

Bad news often comes before good news. In 2 Samuel 7, David desires to build a house for God, but the Lord reveals that David is not the one who will accomplish that task. Last week, Pastor Robert Baltodano opened Psalm 13 with David’s honest cry, “How long, O Lord?”—reminding us that faith isn’t threatened by honest questions, nor does it require having all the answers.Tonight, we’ll look at Psalm 13:3–6 and see David’s shift from confusion to confidence: “But I trust in Your unfailing love.” Even when circumstances don’t change, we’re reminded to anchor ourselves in God’s character, lift our eyes in the waiting, and choose worship before the answers come.

In this Mother’s Day message, Pastor Lloyd focuses on the God-given calling of mothers. Mothers have the responsibility of showing God’s grace and love to their children. Peter was given a specific understanding from the Lord Jesus from which Pastor Lloyd wants us to learn: like Peter, we can grow closer to the Lord and overcome fear and doubt in the process. In this message, we learn what subjection looks like as modeled by Jesus unto the Father. We also look at marriage through the lens of subjection. Finally comes the admonition to be tender-hearted and merciful towards one another.

We as Believers need to know why we can believe in the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The details we have in scripture, with 20,000 ancient manuscripts, supply powerful and over-whelming historical evidence, forming the basis for belief. This message looks at John’s testimony and details of the empty tomb, as described, and more. Throughout this message is the question of “the story,” which everyone has, beginning with a personal encounter with Jesus.

After the amazing healing of a man born blind, John records yet another miraculous sign, given as another convincing proof that Jesus is who he says. This is the account of Lazarus, who became sick and then died. Jesus, the good shepherd, now shows that he is also the resurrection and the life when he raises Lazarus from the dead. Pastor Lloyd takes a close look at Jesus’ rather curious response to Lazarus’ sisters, Martha and Mary who believe, contrasted with the religious leaders who plot to kill him.

John’s entire gospel is one of belief, and Pastor Lloyd encourages its daily study. In this passage, Nicodemus has come to Jesus at night with a question. Nicodemus states his belief that Jesus comes from God. Jesus tells Nicodemus his belief must be followed by a new birth to enter the kingdom of God. This is salvation and it means new birth or regeneration, which Jesus explains with four symbolic analogies. Pastor Lloyd dissects these explanations in this sermon.

This third part of Genesis 11 is the final message of the Foundations series from Pastor Lloyd. In this message, he summarizes the key points of the first eleven chapters of Genesis and explains the genealogy given of the descendants of Shem ending with Abram. In this passage, Pastor Lloyd explains how the events of Genesis are being confirmed by modern science and the study of DNA that traces all men back to one man and all women back to one woman. He references the book, “Traced,” by Nathaniel Jeanson, and explains the variety of characteristics that are possible through DNA, happening over hundreds of years, not millions of years as evolutionists say. The Bible’s brutal honesty about sin and our fleshly downfalls further adds to its credibility. Pastor Lloyd warns how Marxist theory is being repackaged and making its way into our schools and public education but in the end, truth wins.

The account of the flood is meant to remind us that God judges evil. But one day it will stop, and the flood is proof that God keeps his promises. With this fresh start for Noah and his family comes change: a new diet, fear upon all the animals, respect for life, judgment for shedding the blood of one’s fellow man, and a new promise, signified by the rainbow, to never again destroy the earth by flood. As the promise of the rainbow is commandeered and redefined, Pastor Lloyd reminds us that as the culture declines, God’s word remains true.

At this time in ancient history, there could have been anywhere from 10-50 billion people on the earth. As the populations grew, things turned dark because of evil on the earth. Pastor Lloyd explains a bizarre passage that says, “the sons of God took wives for themselves.” The wickedness at that time was great, not unlike today, as the Bible warned it would be. God sent a rescuer, Noah, and one day soon, there will be a great and final rescue. Meanwhile, we share the deliverance that comes only through Jesus.

In this genealogy of 10 names, 1000-1500 years of history is represented and each name has a special significance, as does your name. This message follows the descendants of Seth; pastor Lloyd supplies significant background information, including the meaning behind the names. The evil that was in the world then and which we see now is evidence of God’s patience and love says Pastor Lloyd. He explains how modern genetics points back to a young earth and confirms the veracity of this book of beginnings, Genesis. Surprisingly, hidden in the names of Seth’s descendants we find the message of the entire gospel.

In this passage is a picture of two world religions; God’s and the religion of Cain which does as it wants. The religion of Cain brings a curse, but Jesus removes the curse when we are born again. Pastor Lloyd points out the mercy of God where even with the curse, God gives Cain protection he doesn’t deserve. In this passage, Pastor Lloyd explains where Cain’s wife comes from, explores the meaning of Cain’s son’s name, Enoch, talks about his lineage and the brilliance of these descendants who invented music and musical instruments.

In this book of “firsts,” we find that a thread of redemption weaves through the pages of Genesis. This is the account of Cain and Abel who bring their offerings, as has been their practice, but in these verses, something changes. Cain’s own ideas of sacrifice are not God’s. Will we follow God’s word or will we do our own thing? Wrong turns can be costly and we read the words of warning here and God’s appeal to reconsider. We look at what it means to be our brother’s keeper and the consequences of not caring.

For a powerful foundation for understanding human nature and the world around you, this study in Genesis is essential. Because of sin, God sends his son not to wield power and control, but to lay his life down as a servant. Pastor Lloyd examines the many ramifications of sin including death (which was not part of God's original plan) and also looks at what modern science and the fossil record tells us in relation to the Biblical record.
