Being believed when I first told the story of what happened in our family people didn’t want to believe me. First of all, they didn’t want to hear that sexual allowance had occurred. Next they wanted to shove it under the rug. I wrote the unforgiven walk alone because I needed a way to forgive the abuser in our family or I thought I did until I found out I didn’t need to forgive him ever. Thank you for walking with me. The day after Christmas was always a favorite day of mine, but I’m talking about when I was a kid when the gift I got for Christmas was something I could play with or experiment with our skate with the next day. Did I ever tell you that my father froze our backyard so I could have a skating rink. Yeah I had a cool dad. We also had an ice skating rink within walking distance of our house and the entire week and a half after Christmas before school resumed. I was at the rink cost $.25 can you imagine? Entering the season gently, it’s not easy for everybody. It’s not easy to admit that you need to do this. It’s here after six other Christmases filled with grief. Grief has left me alone for the most part. I decorated my way. I didn’t put a tree up. I just decorated my way and I feel so much better about my decision. Thank you for walking with me. Christmas is good and bad. When you feel something is wrong really you need to take step back fit yourself down and take a good look at why you feel that way at the end of today’s episode. I share a story about what happened to me this weekend when I had to go to the emergency room and be admitted to a hospital under a stroke protocol and no, I did not have a stroke so I’m a little bit aggravated at the overzealousness of the young resident in the ER but I’m also grateful to him because guess what it never fails that they always find something else something incidentally and they did. Gratitude that’s my topic today. It’s the one I wake up with every morning being grateful and I go to sleep with that every night being grateful because there is so much that I can be grateful for.
