76//Why Finding Your People in Homeschooling Is Hard — But Not Impossible

Hey friend, You can sit in a co-op with twenty women who homeschool exactly like you and still feel like a visitor. You can be in every Facebook group and still feel completely unseen. In this episode we talk about why — and what real connection actually requires. Not just finding someone who homeschools like you — but finding someone ahead of you who can say I made it through that, someone right beside you in their own messy season, and someone just starting out who needs what you’ve already learned. And what to do with the connections that didn’t work — because nothing is wasted if you ask the right question. Before you move on — take a breath and ask yourself: What kind of person do I actually need right now? Write it down. Pray about it. If this one hit home, send it to someone who needs to hear it. She might be your people. And if you’re ready to find them, come join us in the Breathable Homeschool Circle. Links to everything: linktr.ee/ingamasek xo, Inga

75//Do You Ever Feel Lonely as a Homeschool Mom Even When You're Never Alone

Nobody warned you that homeschooling could feel this lonely — especially when you're never actually alone. Your kids are right there. You are together all day, every day. And somehow in the middle of all of that togetherness, you can still feel completely unseen. In this episode, we're sitting with that. We're talking about why this life can feel so isolating, why the guilt around that feeling makes it even heavier than it already is, and what it means that you were never actually designed to do this alone in the first place. We cover three kinds of loneliness that homeschool moms carry — the loneliness of being misunderstood, the loneliness of the hard days you can't share, and the loneliness that comes from having no margin left for the relationships you need the most. This one is for you if you've ever felt like you've been carrying this feeling of loneliness and quietly wondering why it feels so heavy. You are not alone in feeling alone — and that's not a contradiction. It's just the truth about how many of us are walking this road. Links to everything: linktr.ee/ingamasek xo, Inga

    74//Did I Do Enough?

Hey friend, I am smack dab in the middle of graduation season — my first time here, graduating my oldest — and let me tell you. I thought I knew this was coming. I thought I was ready. And then the questions started showing up. Loud ones. The kind I wasn't expecting. So I did what I always do — I leaned into them. Not because I have all the answers. But because asking the questions out loud is how I process. And when I was talking to a friend about all of it, she helped me see that I wasn't the only one asking. So let's talk about it. This episode is me, in the middle of it, not pretending I have it together — just being honest about what this season actually feels like and what I'm reaching for when it gets heavy. Your One Thing for Today: Feel whatever this season is bringing up — without judging yourself for feeling it. If this one hit close to home, share it with a homeschool mom who's in a similar season. She might need to know she's not alone. xo, Inga P.S. Find everything you need to have a breathable homeschool at linktr.ee/ingamasek

73//The Thoughts We’ve Been Having But Weren’t Ready to Say Out Loud

Hey friend, Last week we started a conversation about the truths we’d only say to someone we really trust. And after I hit publish, I knew there were a few more sitting there. So this episode is just that. We’re still at the table. Still with our coffee. Still talking about the things that are true — even when they’re not always easy to say. If you listened to Part One and felt understood, this one goes a little further.   Your One Thing for Today: Think about the part you almost said last week — and didn’t. Say it now. To someone safe. And if this episode felt like continuing a conversation you needed, share it with another homeschool mom and invite her to sit with us. 72//What Homeschool Moms Really Think (But Never Say)

Hey friend, This episode is simple. It’s the kind of conversation you’d have sitting across from a close friend — coffee in hand — when you finally say the thing you don’t usually say in bigger spaces. The truth you’d only admit to someone you trust. The kind of honesty that starts with, “Okay… can I just say something?” That’s what we’re talking about today.  So grab your coffee. Or your tea. Or whatever’s in your cup. And let’s talk about the truths we’d only say to a friend. Your One Thing for Today: Text one safe friend and tell her a truth you've been afraid to admit. Better yet, ask her to meet you for a cup coffee so you both have a moment to share- and breathe! And, if this episode felt like sitting at a table with someone who gets it, share it with another homeschool mom and invite her to the conversation too. 71//I Love My Kids and I've Lost Myself — Can Both Be True?

Hey friend, A listener asked a question that I think many of us have felt at one point or another as homeschooling moms. She said, “I love homeschooling. I love my family. I do love my life. But what about me? What’s my thing? Who am I outside of everyone else needing something from me?” And I don’t think she’s alone in that. So in this episode, we’re talking about what happens when your days revolve around kids and lessons and church and marriage and responsibilities — and somewhere in the middle of all of that, you realize you don’t really know where you fit anymore. You can love your life and still ask that question. And it isn’t about becoming self-focused. It’s about wholeness. It’s about remembering that God created you as a whole woman — not just a role. 70//The Question That's Making Your Hard Days Harder

Hey friend! In this  short episode, we’re talking about the question many of us default to when things feel off, hard, or unclear — “What’s wrong?”Thank you thank you for coming. Have a great eveningI just realize you got ice cream in the cold weather is happening right now What’s wrong with me. What’s wrong with today. What’s wrong with our homeschool.   We talk about why that question is rarely neutral, how it quietly turns moments of struggle into self-blame, and what changes when you learn to pause and ask a different kind of question instead.   This episode isn’t about fixing yourself or figuring everything out. It’s about noticing what’s actually happening — without putting yourself on trial in the process.   So, what’s in it for you?   👉🏿 Insight into why certain questions increase pressure instead of clarity 👉🏿 Language that helps you step out of blame and into perspective 👉🏿 A more helpful way to approach hard or unclear moments 👉🏿 Space to respond thoughtfully instead of reacting against yourself   I hope this episode gives you a new way to meet the moments when things aren’t going well — without assuming something is wrong with you.   xo, Inga Next Steps Follow or Subscribe If this episode was helpful, follow or subscribe so you don’t miss future conversations. 69//When Your Homeschool Stops Working — It Might Just Be a Season

In this episode, we’re talking about the reality that homeschooling doesn’t stay the same, because life doesn’t stay the same. Your kids grow. Your responsibilities shift. What you need changes. We talk about how seasons show up in homeschooling and why it’s helpful to recognize them — not so you can label yourself, but so you can make wiser choices about support, structure, and expectations. This episode builds on our conversation about homeschool disciplines and helps connect the dots between what supports you and when that support is actually needed. So, what’s in it for you? 👉🏿 A clearer way to think about seasons in homeschooling 👉🏿 Help recognizing when your needs have changed 👉🏿 Language to talk about support without overcomplicating it 👉🏿 A way to respond as things shift instead of forcing what used to work I hope this episode helps you think differently about where you are right now and what this season is asking of you. xo, Inga Next Steps January Reflection Resource I put together a simple January reflection resource you can use alongside the January episodes. 67//A Prayer For You This Season

Hi friend, As we come to the end of 2025, I wanted to pause with you and name the gift that often gets lost in the middle of homeschooling and everyday life. In this episode of Catch Your Breath, I reflect on the freedom, rest, and grace Jesus offers us right where we are—at the kitchen table, in unfinished lessons, and in the weight we carry into the next day. This isn’t an episode about catching up, fixing your homeschool, or planning a better new year. It’s about releasing guilt for the days that didn’t look the way you hoped and remembering that God’s mercy meets us new every morning. I talk about what it looks like to trust God in seasons we don’t fully understand, to stop carrying pressure that was never ours to hold, and to allow rest even when the list is still there. I also pray for you and with you as you close out this year—over your homeschooling, your home, and your heart. If this season has felt full, messy, or unfinished, this episode is an invitation to slow down and breathe. The gift has already been given. One Thing for Today: Name one place in your homeschool where guilt has crept in—and release it. Take a breath. You’re allowed to rest. xo, Inga My Gift for You: If this episode resonated with you, I made something just for you. It’s called The Breathing Room Reset — a free 10 minute audio to help you exhale, release, and receive right where you are. 66//When the To-Do List Doesn’t Get Done

What happens when the season (or the intentional break)  ends…and the list is still there? In this episode of Catch Your Breath, I’m sharing a personal reflection on a season that didn’t look the way I planned—and what I noticed when I slowed down long enough to look again. This isn’t an episode about productivity or fixing your to-do list. It’s about perspective. About presence. And about the quiet work that still happens when the visible work doesn’t. I talk about the moments that filled December for me—driving kids around, opening our home, long conversations, letting go of traditions, releasing guilt, and learning to sit with what was instead of rushing past it. If you’ve looked at your list and thought, “I didn’t get to what I planned,” this episode is an invitation to pause—and notice what still unfolded. In this episode, we reflect on: When plans don’t match reality How perspective shapes how a season feels Letting go of guilt around unfinished lists Finding peace and presence in ordinary moments Why not everything meaningful shows up on paper One Thing for Today: Revisit one thing you wrote off as “nothing” and ask yourself what it actually gave you. Take a breath. You may have done more than you think. And, if hiding more Scripture in your heart feels like it should be on your list this December—but it just hasn’t happened—I have something simple for you. Email the word JOY to [email protected], and I’ll senda short set of encouraging Scriptures you can come back to when you need them. xo,  Inga

63//A Reminder of the Power of Gratitude

This week, we’re slowing down for a moment to remember something we already know but often forget: gratitude is powerful. Not just as a feeling — but in what it does to us mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Science can explain a lot of it, but Scripture has been showing us this truth long before research ever named it. In today’s episode, I’m sharing why gratitude matters, what it does inside us, and why this season gives us a little extra room to notice it. No steps, no pressure — just a reminder that thankfulness is doing more in you than you realize. You’ll hear: what gratitude does in your mind and body what Scripture shows us about thankfulness how gratitude works in your heart and your faith a simple reflection for your week Your One Thing for Today: Name one thing you’re thankful for today and each day (in your homeschool, your day, your life). If you're bold, share it with your family or write it in your journal.  If this episode encouraged you, share it with a mom who could use a breath today, and let me know about it. Email me at [email protected] and I'll send you the scriptures for a thankful heart from this episode and a few more.  **Resource mentioned in this episode- A Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp

62//Why ‘I’m Failing at This’ Hits So Fast — And How to Stop the Spiral

If you’ve had a moment in homeschool that instantly turned into “I’m failing at this,” you’re not alone — and you’re not the only mom who thinks that way. This episode gets honest about that feeling: why it shows up so quickly, why it hits so hard, and how to stop the moment from becoming a story about who you are. We walk through a simple reset you can use the next time that thought hits — one that helps you pause, breathe, and move forward with clarity instead of spiraling. Your One Thing for Today: Talk to God about the feeling — just as it is. Ask Him to help you notice when that thought shows up, and to help you take it captive before it shapes your day. If this episode gives you a moment of relief or helps you see your day differently, share it with another mom who might need the same reminder.   Connect with me here to share your thoughts, ask questions, or let me know how i can serve you. 😊 Instagram: @homeschool.wellness.coach Email: [email protected]

61//Finish This Sentence: Right Now, Homeschool Feels…

If you had to finish this sentence, "Right now, homeschool feels...," what would you say? Most moms never pause long enough to answer.  In this episode, if you can get past the coughing, we pause long enough to notice what you’re actually feeling today. You’ll hear: what it shows you about your days one simple step you can take right now Your One Thing for Today: Name your word. Talk to God about it. If this helped you slow down or breathe a little easier, share it with another mom so she can find her word too. And if you’d like, send me yours at [email protected]. 60//The Tug-of-War Inside Every Homeschool Day (And What to Do in the Middle of It)

If you’ve ever felt yourself bouncing between: wanting to be gentle, and then realizing you came in a little strong trying to stay on top of things, and then noticing the whole day went to tasks wanting to just enjoy your kids, and then remembering there’s still learning to lead this episode will make sense to you. Homeschooling often means holding more than one priority at a time. Not choosing one or the other — just navigating the shifts as they come up in real life. This episode is a conversation about that everyday back-and-forth, how it often shows up in normal days, and one simple way to respond in the moment when you feel it happening. Your One Thing for Today When you notice the swing, just acknowledge it. Name it. That’s it. Tune in to the episode to hear how to use that in real time. 59//Breathing Again: The Pause, the Pivot, and What’s Next

After more than 18 months away, I’m back — and this episode gets honest about what that season really looked like. I share how grief, overwhelm, and life changes brought me to a full stop… and how that pause helped me restart toward a breathable life. I walk through my belief-to-mindset-to-action apprach — how aligning what I believe, think, and do has changed everything — and end with a simple One Thing for Today: notice where you’re holding your breath, and give yourself permission to release it. I don’t want this to be a one-way conversation — I’d love to hear from you. If this episode resonated with you — or if you’ve been in a season where catching your breath has felt hard — I’d love to hear from you. What’s been on your plate lately? 58//Update: Why I've Been MIA and What's Next!

Hi friend, In this quick update, I'm sharing a little about why things have been quiet lately and why I'm hitting pause to take my advice to reflect, reset, and refresh. To Be still and remember He is still God, especially during the most difficult seasons of our life. Please know it's certainly not goodbye, just a short break to adjust and come back stronger. In the meantime, I hope you'll subscribe, go back and listen to your favorite episodes, and keep sharing with other moms who need to catch their breath. Till then, remember - in every challenging season of life or homeschooling, pause. Breathe. Hey friend, Ever feel like you’re waiting for a nod or a green light to just... breathe? To decide what’s truly right for you and your family? You’re not alone. This episode is all about breaking free from the ‘permission slip’ we think we need—whether it’s to pause for self-care, shift gears, or dive into homeschooling. It’s time to talk about why we stall, waiting for approval that, deep down, we know we don’t need. Why do we do this to ourselves? Guilt, doubt, fear of judgment—these shadows loom over us, making decisions feel heavier than they should. We’re diving deep into self-trust (or the lack thereof), the fear of falling behind, and the worry about what others will think. It’s these feelings that often send us seeking validation from anyone but ourselves. Tune in for a real talk on granting ourselves the permission to live on our terms. Discover strategies to manage the inner critic, celebrate our autonomy in homeschooling, and more. You’ll learn to embrace planning with flexibility and how to build your own circle of trust for those moments when you crave a bit of backup in your choices. Though we zero in on homeschooling, this episode is a must-listen if you’ve been waiting for someone else to say “It’s okay” about any aspect of your life. 54//One Homeschool Worry That Keeps Coming Up

Hey Friend, We're rethinking the whole balance game. Instead of chasing after this idea of perfect balance, I'll show you how to weave harmony into your day-to-day. We'll explore how setting up time blocks can seriously upgrade your routine and how embracing the AIM strategy (that's Accepting, Interrupting, and Managing stress) can be a game-changer. And because I know how tough this homeschooling journey can be, we're all about celebrating those little wins and patting ourselves on the back for the imperfections too. Plus, I can't stress enough how crucial it is to take care of you. Self-care isn't just nice; it's necessary for keeping everything else running smoothly. I'll also share the scoop on setting goals that feel doable and the power of finding your tribe in homeschooling communities.  So, if you're ready to shift from feeling frazzled to feeling harmonious, this episode is your invitation. Let's embrace the beautifully imperfect journey of homeschooling and life together. Trust me, it's okay not to have it all figured out. What matters is we're here, learning and growing together.
