Luke continued the “Run the Race” series and spoke about the need for endurance, especially when we face suffering and trials, because we know that suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope.                                                                                                       

A lot of the best things are difficult, and running the race that God calls us to is like that. But it is worth it! We need to sign up for the race by saying yes to following Jesus. The race is full of meaning and depth, and he will be with us.

In this, the last sermon on Jesus' miracles in the book of John, Luke spoke about Martha’s disappointment in Jesus before he raised Lazarus from the dead.

Luke spoke about Jesus healing the blind man—from the 9th chapter of John. Jesus made mud, put it on the man’s eyes, and told him to go wash in the Pool of Siloam. The man had the faith to do so, and he went home seeing. Then a second miracle happened. Jesus asked the man if he believed in the Son of Man and told him that he was the Son of Man. The healed man said in response, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshipped him.

Jesus continued to perform signs so people would believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that they may have life in his name. Large crowds followed Jesus because they had seen him healing the sick. One time, Jesus saw the crowd and multiplied a boy’s five small barley loaves and two small fish to feed about 5,000 men, not counting women and children.

When Jesus saw a man who had been an invalid for 38 years, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?” Jesus then told the man to “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk,” and in doing so Jesus became the man’s remedy. After Luke’s talk, a student shared how Jesus became his remedy.

After leaving Cana, where Jesus performed his first miracle, he went to Jerusalem and cleaned out the temple. Then he returned to Cana and spoke healing to a royal official’s son.

Luke started a new series on the miracles Jesus performed. He spoke about Jesus turning water into wine at Cana and explained that Jesus cares about us and the small things in our lives.

Luke spoke from Galatians 6 to wrap up our Galatians series. He told us it may seem like the good guy often loses, but in the long run, we reap what we sow. We must not grow weary of doing good.

Luke continued our Galatians series. He spoke about four things God has freed us from and four things he has freed us to. We can love others because of what God has done for us.

Jeremiah continued our Galations series. He taught us that we can know God and be known by God. We cannot gain God’s acceptance by striving to please him. Our identity is that we are children of God. We didn’t earn it. It was a gift.

Luke continued his series in Galations and warned us not to become bewitched and incorrectly believe that we can earn salvation by performing to a standard of behavior in an attempt to please God.

Luke continued his series in Galations and spoke about how the church in Galatia questioned Paul’s authority and the truth of salvation by grace alone.

Luke spoke about how the Galations, although they may have had good intentions, were perverting the gospel by trying to add the Mosaic law to it.

Luke concluded his two-week Advent series by talking about the Prince of Peace name of Jesus. Although our world is divided, there is one throne, one crown, and one king, and his peace can be ours.

Pastor Dave discussed four ways to get on the path that leads to life for your inner soul.

Jayden Simmons shared three pearls of wisdom from Proverbs 3 about how we can walk the narrow path of Godly wisdom: the path that leads to life.

Curtis Fowler, the Portland Area West Director at Young Life spoke about how iron sharpens iron and presented three ways we can be sharpened and gain insight into our blind spots.

Because of sin, we’re separated from God, and justice demands a consequence. Yet God’s love offers a rescue plan, bridging the gap between us and Him. Join us to explore this life-changing truth.

Emery Berendt taught about how to keep trusting God even if we don’t see him working in our circumstances.

Those of us who have accepted Jesus as our Savior are children of God. We have been adopted by him, and as his children, we inherit many amazing benefits.

We are all created in God’s image and each of us has inherent worth. However, not all are children of God. To be a child of God we need to be reconciled to God through the death of his Son.

Luke continued the Imago Dei series and exhorted us to treat others, who are created in God’s image, with justice and dignity. (Errata: At one point, Luke referred to the Jews as a minority group. He intended to say they were an oppressed group.)

Luke wrapped up his Family Matters series. This talk explored how the diverse church at Antioch came together in unity and then sent Paul and Barnabas to evangelize other cities.
