Characteristics of the Voice of God
by Dr. Anthony Osei Boateng
As children of God, we are supposed to be able to hear and distinguish God’s voice from the voice of the enemy. When the sheep hear the voice of their Master, they follow Him; signifying, obedience, trust and total reliance on the ability of their Master to keep them safe and lead them to the right path. So how do we distinguish God’s Voice from other voices around us? For us to be able to do this, we need to know the characteristics of the voice of God.

ENJOYING THR JOY ALLOCATED TO YOU BY GOD
This episode is also available as a blog post: http://draoboateng.com/2021/06/21/enjoying-thr-joy-allocated-to-you-by-god/ John 16:33 states: in the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world (KJV). This means that Christians are predisposed to sorrow as long as we are in this world. But Christ has overcome this world, hence the closer we draw to Him; the more we shall be drawn from this world and its sorrows. Many Christians allow the devil to steal their joy by seeking joy from the world. This is certainly the wrong way to go in obtaining fulfilment.

NON-ALCOHOLIC FATTY LIVER DISEASE (NAFLD): THROUGH THE EYE-VIEW OF A LONDONER
This episode is also available as a blog post: http://draoboateng.com/2021/06/16/non-alcoholic-fatty-liver-disease-nafld-through-the-eye-view-of-a-londoner/ The liver also serves as an epicentre and paramount determinant of the health status of an individual. Statistics show that 16,087 people in the UK died from liver disease in 2008. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a metabolic disorder which does not originate from an inherent usage of alcohol making. It is widely believed that NAFLD may be linked to obesity and a sedentary lifestyle. As a result, it is sometimes tagged as a disease which is more common among the affluent.

IGNITING LOVE WITH LOVE
This episode is also available as a blog post: http://draoboateng.com/2021/06/16/igniting-love-with-love/ God loved the world first. This love made Him to give His only Son to die for us. This can also be applied in relationships. Paul tells husbands to love their wives, just as Christ loved the church.

LOVE: THE BASIC ELEMENT FOR A PERPETUAL MARRIAGE AND NOT JUST ROMANCE
This episode is also available as a blog post: http://draoboateng.com/2021/06/09/love-the-basic-element-for-a-perpetual-marriage-and-not-just-romance/ Love is the element which drives one to lay the entirety of his or her resources and a totality of his or her being at the disposal of another in a sacrificial manner, with the aim of bettering the lot of the other. It inconveniences itself for the convenience of another. Bearing this definition in mind, it presupposes that showing love to ones spouse in marriage goes far beyond just romance. It rather incorporates the totality of each spouses endowments.

OBTAINING VICTORY BY THE BLOOD AND WORD OF OUR TESTIMONY
This episode is also available as a blog post: http://draoboateng.com/2021/06/09/obtaining-victory-by-the-blood-and-word-of-our-testimony/ The Bible says in Revelations 12: 11 “and they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death”. Indeed, our victory lies in the blood of the Lamb and having faith in it’s significance in our lives.

A REVIEW OF COVID-19 HERD IMMUNITY WITH HINDSIGHT
This episode is also available as a blog post: http://draoboateng.com/2021/05/12/a-review-of-covid-19-herd-immunity-with-hindsight/ On 11th March 2020, I heard from the BBC that the COVID-19 outbreak had been confirmed as a pandemic by the WHO. This was the confirmation of a worrying reality which many of us within the field of medical research hoped would never see the light of day. The world was entering unchartered waters with many epidemiological terms which previously were not popularly known becoming household terms. Most notable among these were the terms “herd immunity” and “R”.

HOW TO FORGIVE
This episode is also available as a blog post: http://draoboateng.com/2021/06/12/how-to-forgive/ When one is offended in any way by his or her friend or partner, there is the tendency for this offence to be used as an avenue to hurt the offending partner. Many people outrightly refuse to forgive their partners, whereas others try to "stretch" their partners a little by postponing the forgiveness for sometime. Some even go to the extent of scheduling a time to forgive their partners. This causes a lot of strain on many marriages and relationships.

MAKING THE RIGHT DECISIONS
This episode is also available as a blog post: http://draoboateng.com/2021/06/12/making-the-right-decisions/ The life of man can be summed up as "a collection of decisions". Many Christians struggle with making the right decisions in life. Some feel that the right decision is simply "making up their mind to do what they want". Other Christians also make up their mind about things and presume that what they've decided is exactly what God wants them to do. "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death" Proverbs 14:12(KJV). Hence the right decision is the decision which is right in the sight of God (or which pleases God or which is in line with His will for one's life). This means that the right decision may not always seem right in the sight of man. It may not always be what you want to do.

DEALING WITH DIFFERENCES IN RELATIONSHIPS
This episode is also available as a blog post: http://draoboateng.com/2021/05/12/dealing-with-differences-in-relationships/ Many couples tend to have long-standing quarrels over serious and trivial things. Differences arise as people move together. The most important thing however is how these differences are handled. When Solomon sinned against God, He punished him, but at the same time remembered His good servant David and kept the throne in the tribe of Judah. As Christians, when a person offends us, that is not the time to remember past wrongs; but rather the time to remember the good things which that person has done for you in the past. Having an unreserved love for that person at that particular moment would help you to bring the relationship on track.

ENJOYING THE JOY ALLOCATED TO YOU BY GOD
This episode is also available as a blog post: http://draoboateng.com/2021/06/12/enjoying-the-joy-allocated-to-you-by-god/ God has allocated joy to every child of His. But the problem is maintaining this joy given to us by God. Psalm 16:11b states: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore (KJV). This means that we need the presence of God in order to maintain the joy He has given to us. Furthermore, this shows that the more we move far away from Gods presence, the sadder we become.

FAITHFULNESS TO YOUR SPOUSE THROUGH FAITHFULNESS TO GOD
This episode is also available as a blog post: http://draoboateng.com/2021/06/12/faithfulness-to-your-spouse-through-faithfulness-to-god/ Marriage should be seen as stewardship. Husbands and wives will give account of how they treated their spouses to God, who gave them these spouses. In Genesis 3:12, it states: "the woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate". Thus Adam acknowledged the fact that God gave him his wife Eve.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SPOUSE
This episode is also available as a blog post: http://draoboateng.com/2021/05/12/choosing-the-right-spouse/ Many Christians have the notion that it is God who has to force them to marry one person or the other. Eve was created for Adam by God, but even in that instant, there was an element of Adam in Eve (i.e. his rib). When man sinned against God Adam said " The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat" (KJV) (Gen.3:12). From that time to date, God gave man his own freewill to choose his spouse. A man or woman may decide not to even marry at all. God rather GUIDES or LEADS a person to a good spouse but the choice of marrying or not marrying that person rests with him or her alone.
