They are tasked with the responsibility of ensuring our well being. We are also told by God not to make their jobs hard. Yet, that being said, we are also called to inspect their fruits. To validate their conduct and ensure they are being faithful in their calling. We are not called to follow them down the primrose path to hell. Or, let them tickle our ears and lie to our faces. So we must be on guard and follow the guide given to us in scripture. While we read let us also inspect ourselves and see if we can pass the test: As we are all called to minister for the Lord. Despite all the trials you will face, it is eternally worth it. Knowing Jesus gave His all, we are called to give no less. It is the right response to such a powerful love. Serving God is not easy; Jesus never said it would be. Don’t go into it thinking it will be easy, and you will avoid the surprise and disappointment.  It can be a rude awakening otherwise that will tempt you to leave the work for what you think is a “safe harbor” in the world’s system. But the safest place you can be is in the middle of God’s will for your life. Always be seeking that and leave the rest in God’s capable hands. The Curse and Declaration given to Eve about her children, not only referred to the Messiah and Satan, but her own children within her womb. Often ministers can become too ‘people focused’ and forget the reason and person we are actually serving, and that is our Father God. They get stuck on “saved by grace,” or “saved by works.” Both are wrong and destitute of spiritual discernment. The answer is “Yes” and “Yes.” We are saved by grace not by works, yet now that we are saved, there is a calling to obey. We didn’t earn our salvation, yet now that it has been given, it comes with guidance. Failure to head the guidance is to reject the offer of salvation. Grace and works are intimately connected. You can never be good enough. That is why there is grace and mercy. Yet, you cannot remain with a heart of rebellion and call Jesus “Lord”. That is why there remains God’s way of doing things, also called the law. To say that you can have a relationship with God on your own terms and conditions, is to deny the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Another way to put it is this: You have been given a free ticket into the city of Heaven, and it didn’t cost you thing. People do not clearly understand what they perceive. The assumption goes something like this: “Well, they did that one miracle, they said that one prayer that was answered, they foretold that one event, then they must be fully in line with God. Therefore, everything they say and teach must be God’s will.”This line of thinking always really bothered me. I see the danger of it while most do not perceive the great error. This led me to wonder, why do so many Christians who have rebelled against God are allowed the power of the Holy Spirit? I pondered why God still blessed their works and prayers with spiritual power, while they so clearly rejected obedience and submission. I know grace, mercy, and time is given to all. Yet, how then do they still walk at times as ones who have received the fullness of God, while rejecting the fullness of submission? I first thought that the spirit is available generally and is allowed to be accessed according to their faith and understanding at the time, which most likely still holds some merit. These testimonies were close enough to the events that they could be substantiated and proven by the masses. What is crazy to think is that in a court of law, the members of the mob could help convict a mob by their testimony and account of His activities, yet with so much proof and testimony given by Jesus’ disciples, people still try to deny the truthfulness and accuracy of these accounts. Yet, this is a Bible Study on how the Labor market is being grinded by a high cost of living and the grinding of lower wages, while all the while, businesses paying higher and higher wages to those at the top. This is not a call to take down the 1% or anything stupid like that. As I have never had a poor man give me a job. This is a study showing how the pursuit of pleasure and ease, and the trying to just live, is being used by Satan to grind down the world. No one is innocent in this narrative, as the Laborer is just as guilty in their pursuit of pleasure and those who employ them- Management. Both sides are being played by the devil. Management seeks more profits so they raise prices, while not raising wages. Then Labor cannot buy any more, then eventually less. Managements desire to get wealth is killing the host in the pursuit for pleasure, power, and more. Labor is using what they have to do the same- a disastrous pursuit for pleasure and more, spending their money on that which does not fulfill. Both sides are guilty and playing right into the hands of the devil, trying to obtain the “Good Life.” All the while, never realizing it is a never-ending journey to always achieve and get more.
