Question Israel… Get Labeled... The Growing Divide in Christianity.
In this episode of Coffee with Hales, I continue my series on how institutional Christianity has been pulled into left-right political control, and I respond to a clip from Understanding the Times with Jan Markell about “Laodicean” churches and Israel. I argue they frame churches as apostate for not addressing October 7, equate non–pro-Israel positions with antisemitism or even Nazi Germany, and dismiss alternate eschatology (replacement/fulfillment theology) as coming from figures like Tucker Carlson or Candace Owens. I push back on the idea that Israel is the “true north” for determining someone’s theology or even whether they’re a real Christian, and I say believers should be allowed to ask questions. I cite various articles and examples about Gaza, ceasefires, civilian harm, foreign policy, and intelligence allegations to explain why questions arise, and I encourage viewers to study Scripture and check out Pastor David Curtis for a non-dispensational biblical perspective. 00:00 Welcome and Series Setup 01:19 Laodicea and October 7 04:39 Nazi Comparison Critique 06:09 Tucker Candace Strawman 10:42 Israel as Theological Litmus 13:19 Fact Checking Gaza Claims 20:39 Blood Libel and Foreign Wars 29:21 Replacement Theology Labels 31:57 Final Encouragement and Resources SOURCES: Brean Bible Church | Who Is Israel? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6by-UR_TBEY Other Sermons on Israel: https://www.youtube.com/@BereanBibleChurch/search?query=Who%20Is%20Israel%20 More information on Epsiten: James Corbett: https://corbettreport.com/epstein-israel-and-secret-societies-on-the-ripple-effect/ Articles from the video: https://jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jewish-members-of-the-118th-congress https://www.cfr.org/articles/us-aid-israel-four-charts https://costsofwar.watson.brown.edu/paper/HumanTollGaza https://www.trackaipac.com/trump https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/jul/31/the-mathematics-of-starvation-how-israel-caused-a-famine-in-gaza https://truthout.org/articles/despite-ceasefire-israel-continues-to-expand-occupation-of-southern-lebanon/ https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67241290 https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cpw004xqxnjo https://www.democracynow.org/2024/7/12/israel https://www.facebook.com/MiddleEastEye/videos/us-secretary-of-state-marco-rubio-has-contradicted-himself-and-scrambled-to-clar/1403110011011834/ https://x.com/kennardmatt/status/1742943360304771513 https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2004/12/8/israeli-soldiers-shoot-boy-for-fun https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/apr/02/gaza-palestinian-children-killed-idf-israel-war IDF Soldier Interviewed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35xqZnyPM7w https://www.lemonde.fr/en/les-decodeurs/article/2024/04/03/40-beheaded-babies-the-itinerary-of-a-rumor-at-the-heart-of-the-information-battle-between-israel-and-hamas_6667274_8.html

How Politicians Are Using the Church to Keep You Divided
Has Government Hijacked Evangelicalism? Politics, Propaganda, and the Church In this Coffee with Hales commentary, I argue that large Protestant evangelical movements have been hijacked to keep Christians invested in a right-left political illusion and pressured to see voting—often for a specific party—as biblically mandated. I use Sheridan Church in Oklahoma and Pastor Jackson Lahmeyer’s “Pastors for Trump” involvement as an example, including his defense of the White House Office of Faith and Paula White, the church’s ties to Trump-world figures, and messaging around Islam, Sharia law, and persecution. I also critique how end-times Zionist/dispensational frameworks and accusations around replacement theology are being used to police who counts as a “real” Christian, contributing to people leaving evangelicalism. My goal is to zoom out, recognize propaganda entering churches, and encourage personal responsibility and deeper engagement with scripture. 00:00 Welcome and Series Setup 00:22 Politics Hijacking Churches 02:07 Pastors for Trump Origins 04:40 Clip Reaction Faith Office 07:28 Sheridan Church Case Study 09:13 End Times and Israel Tests 11:56 Islam and Butler Talking Points 13:16 Trump Meme and Pastor Defense 14:45 Zooming Out Final Takeaways 16:43 Closing and Call to Comment SOURCES: https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-... • Pastors LAY HANDS on TRUMP in the OVAL OFF... • Trump deletes social media post with AI im... https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv... https://sheridan.church/ https://timetofreeamerica.com/ https://sheridan.church/sermons-previ... • My TERRIBLE White House Faith Office Exper... • Did you know that 1 out every 7 Christians... https://www.oklahoman.com/story/news/... https://x.com/JacksonLahmeyer/status/...

The Church Has Been Hijacked By Politicians | Is Voting a Biblical Mandate?
Is Voting a Biblical Mandate? Why I’m Opting Out of the Left/Right Illusion. In this laid-back Coffee with Hales episode, I build on my last video about institutional Christianity being captured by government power and the left/right narrative. I respond to common Protestant and evangelical talking points that claim Christians are biblically mandated to vote, using clips from Pastor Billy Crone, another pastor arguing voting isn’t a sacrament, and Allie Beth Stuckey’s case for loving our neighbor through politics. I push back on blending “anti-American” with “anti-Christ,” argue both parties operate as a corrupt uniparty, and explain why voting feels like consenting to someone ruling over my God-given sovereignty. I also challenge the idea that politics is the main way to love neighbors, calling it the laziest substitute for real responsibility, community, and relationships. I urge Christians to zoom out, stop fighting over hot-button issues, and pursue biblical freedom rooted in personal accountability. 00:00 Breaking the Left Right Spell 00:30 Why This Episode Matters 01:30 Pastor Says Voting Is Mandate 03:00 Anti American vs Anti Christ 03:59 Uniparty and Lesser Evil 05:17 Voting as Consent to Rule 07:17 Opting Out and Complaints 08:08 Convenience Is Not Freedom 10:14 Voting Is Not a Sacrament 12:35 Government as New Theology 14:41 Rebuilding Family and Community 16:16 Loving Neighbor Beyond Politics 18:43 Church Captured by Power 19:36 Call to Biblical Freedom 22:01 Final Thoughts and Outro

You're Reading Scripture... So Where is the Fruit?
In this episode of Coffee with Hales, I take a springtime spiritual inventory and share four points on growing in spiritual maturity: be intentional about time in Scripture, understand who Yahweh is, grow through applying God’s Word (not just learning it), and remember that growth produces visible fruit in its proper season. I walk through Psalm 1 and Psalm 119 to show how Scripture roots us like a tree by living water and lights our path in a dark world, connect Jesus’ “I Am” statements to Yahweh’s name in Exodus, and use Colossians to emphasize Christ’s deity and sustaining power. I also clarify that “prosperous” in Scripture means spiritual maturity rather than material success, and I end with practical ways to reset habits and make Scripture a daily priority. 00:00 Welcome and Theme 00:35 Point One Be Intentional 01:10 Scripture as Living Water 02:28 Word as Light Guidance 03:47 Point Two Knowing Yahweh 04:49 Elohim and God's Name 08:17 Jesus I Am Deity 10:14 Abide in the Vine 12:39 Point Three Apply the Word 14:05 Prosperity Means Spiritual 18:15 Point Four Fruit in Season 20:10 Reflection and Habit Reset 22:02 Closing, Thanks, and Farewell

I'm Choosing Self Reliance Over The System
Why I Started Gardening (Exit & Build + Backyard Chickens) In this Coffee with Hales episode, I share how my husband and I started gardening and raising backyard chickens after a 2020 “reality check” about grocery-store food, government overreach, and the doom-and-gloom alternative media cycle. We began with two garden beds as a small, positive way to channel frustration, build self-sufficiency, and opt out of supporting large corporations—without pretending it’s about saving money. That grew into chickens for eggs (and an egg stand), then buying meat locally, getting raw milk from a small farm, and applying an “exit and build” strategy to other areas like banking and entertainment. If you feel overwhelmed by constant bad news, I encourage you to “be where your feet are,” focus on what you can control, and take one small step—like a garden—toward more autonomy, healthier food, and a lifestyle rooted in faith and creation. The Government Is Duping Protestants & Evangelicals
Coffee with Hales: How Politics Captured Institutional Christianity (White House Faith Office, Easter, Propaganda) In this commentary episode, I argue that institutional Christianity—especially political evangelicalism/Protestantism—has been captured to manipulate believers into supporting a corrupt system and keeping the powerful in control. Triggered by the White House Easter event, I critique the White House Office of Faith (established February 2025) and its leader, Paula White, highlighting her claims of God-ordained authority, vague Christian buzzwords, and past teachings I view as unbiblical and manipulative. I also examine how the 2024 assassination attempt on Trump was framed to pressure Christians politically, and I react to Easter remarks comparing Trump’s trials to Jesus’ death and resurrection. Finally, I discuss Franklin Graham’s prayer about Iran/Israel as an example of politicized messaging entering churches, urging critical thinking, biblical discernment, and creative ways to opt out of the right-left paradigm. 00:00 Captured Christianity Claim 00:26 Why This Commentary Now 02:12 White House Faith Office 05:04 Paula White God Assignment 07:28 Assassination Narrative Spin 12:25 Buzzwords Not Bible 16:27 Paula White Teachings Exposed 21:36 Easter White House Speech 30:15 Franklin Graham Prayer Fallout 32:53 Propaganda In Churches 37:44 Opting Out And Next Steps 39:01 Closing Thoughts And Outro

Handle This, & Watch Your Relationships Change
In this light “Coffee with Hales” episode, I walk through practical lessons from Proverbs aimed especially at women: a gracious/kindhearted woman attains honor (Prov. 11:16–17), beauty without discretion is worthless (Prov. 11:22), and a wise woman builds her house while a foolish one tears it down (Prov. 14:1). I also unpack how an excellent wife strengthens her husband while shaming words rot relationships (Prov. 12:4; 17:22), then connect this to friendships, work, and family by challenging us to bring refreshment rather than rottenness through our speech. I highlight warnings about bad company, gossip, and unguarded tongues (Prov. 13:20; 20:19; 21:23; 1 Cor. 15:33), and close with contentment and peace versus envy (Prov. 14:30) and the healing power of pleasant words (Prov. 16:24). 00:00 Welcome and Setup 00:45 Graciousness Over Wealth 02:15 Beauty and Discretion 04:23 Build or Tear Down 06:11 Excellent Wife and Joy 08:18 Refresh or Rotten Relationships 09:57 Choose Wise Company 10:18 Guard Your Tongue 11:03 Contentment Beats Envy 12:43 Pleasant Words Challenge 13:30 Final Proverbs Charge

Break Me, Lord: Interview With Lillie Grace Strickland on Suffering, Lament, and Healing
In this Coffee with Hales episode, I chat with my friend Lilie Grace Strickland about her new book, Break Me, Lord, and the story behind writing it during her freshman year at Liberty University. Lily shares how journaling turned into a book, how her dad’s stroke and other trauma led her into both unhealthy and healthy lament, and how naming emotions helped her process pain and pray honestly. We talk about unmet expectations, bitterness toward God, and how suffering can deepen intimacy with Jesus while exposing pride and self-righteousness. How Isaiah 53 tells the Good Friday Story | Preparing Our Hearts For Easter
I’m closing out the Preparing a Heart for Easter series on Good Friday by walking through Isaiah 53 and how it prophesies Jesus as the Suffering Servant—written 700–750 years before the gospels. I cover the Messiah’s unlikely beginnings, his rejection and suffering, and how his punishment was substitutionary: pierced for our transgressions so we can have peace, healing, and redemption. I connect Isaiah’s words to New Testament fulfillment in Jesus’ silence before accusation, his unjust death, and his burial with a rich man through Joseph of Arimathea. I also reflect on the meaning of “it pleased the Lord to crush him” as God’s will accomplishing salvation, not delight in pain. I end with three reflection questions on suffering, obedience, and living forgiven. 00:00 Welcome and Series Finale 00:26 Isaiah 53 Overview 01:04 Humble Beginnings 02:03 Despised and Rejected 03:24 Bearing Our Suffering 06:22 Pierced for Our Sin 09:12 Silent Before Accusers 10:05 Death and Burial Prophecy 12:34 It Pleased the Lord 14:55 Redemption and Exaltation 17:09 Living Forgiven 18:52 Three Reflection Points 19:50 Easter Closing Blessing

Final Prayer Before the Cross | Preparing Our Hearts For Easter
John 17: Jesus’ High Priestly Prayer (Holy Week) — Glory, Sanctification, and Unity In this Holy Week episode of Coffee with Hales, I continue the Easter series by walking through John 17—the High Priestly Prayer—set just before Jesus goes to Gethsemane and the crucifixion. I unpack how Jesus prays for mutual glorification with the Father, explaining “glory” as revealing what was hidden—God’s plan of salvation through the cross and Jesus as Messiah. I then cover Jesus’ prayer for the disciples: not removal from the world, but protection from the evil one and sanctification in truth, emphasizing that God’s word counters the world’s philosophy. Finally, I focus on Jesus’ prayer for the future church—unity in shared truth (Scripture), shared power drawn from Yahweh rather than culture, and shared spiritual life in Christ—ending with a practical look at biblical love from Philippians 2 and reflection questions for daily dependence on God’s word. 00:00 Welcome and Easter Series 00:26 John 17 Context 01:51 Glory and Salvation 03:53 Disciples Keep the Word 05:38 Kingdom Living 06:29 Prayer for Protection 09:40 Prayer for Church Unity 11:56 Truth Over Culture 17:56 Unity in Suffering 21:01 Biblical Love Defined 22:35 Holy Week Reflection 24:05 Closing and Next Episode

How the Old Testament Shows Yahweh Ordained the Cross | Preparing Our Hearts For Easter
Old Testament Prophecies of Jesus’ Death & Resurrection (Preparing Our Hearts for Easter) Today on Coffee with Hales, I continue the “Preparing Our Hearts for Easter” series by looking at Old Testament prophecies and themes that point to Jesus’ death and resurrection. I explain how prophecy shows Yahweh is a promise keeper and that Scripture has one divine author, then connect Exodus 12 (Passover lamb with unbroken bones) with Psalm 34 and Zechariah 12:10, and show how John records Jesus’ bones were not broken and his side was pierced. I also highlight Isaiah 52–53’s suffering servant, describing the Messiah’s disfigurement and suffering, alongside the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ beating and crucifixion. Finally, I trace the “third day” theme (Genesis 22, Exodus 19) and Jesus’ own predictions of rising on the third day, ending with reflection questions for the weekend. 00:00 Welcome and Series Setup 01:02 Why Prophecy Matters 01:52 Passover Lamb Fulfillment 04:06 Crucifixion Details Explained 06:40 Suffering Servant Prophecy 10:35 Cross vs Empty Tomb 12:36 Third Day Pattern 16:41 Resurrection as Turning Point 19:31 Reflection Questions 21:12 Closing and Next Episodes The Gospel Collation Resources I refer to: https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/old-testament-third-day/

Can You Find Easter In the Old Testament | Biblical Typology
Finding Jesus in the Old Testament: Biblical Typology (Types & Antitypes) | Preparing for Easter In this Coffee with Hales episode, the host continues a “Preparing Our Hearts for Easter” series by explaining biblical typology—real Old Testament events divinely ordained as prophetic pictures fulfilled by Jesus in the New Testament. Using a clip from pastor David Curtis, she defines type vs. antitype as shadow vs. reality and distinguishes typology (identified by the New Testament) from reader-made illustrations (such as Isaac). She gives key examples tied to Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday: the bronze serpent lifted on a pole (Numbers 21) fulfilled by Jesus being lifted up (John 3), the temple veil limiting access to God fulfilled by the veil tearing at Jesus’ death and believers entering God’s presence through Christ (Matthew 27; Hebrews 10), and Adam as a type fulfilled by Jesus as the last Adam bringing resurrection and life (1 Corinthians 15; Romans 5). She ends with reflection questions and a practical highlighting study method to connect Old and New Testament passages. 00:00 Welcome and Easter Series 00:46 What Is Typology 02:02 Pastor Clip Explained 04:59 Type vs Antitype Shadow 07:10 Types vs Illustrations 09:32 Why Typology Matters 10:42 Bronze Serpent Example 12:33 Temple Veil Torn 15:23 Second Adam Fulfillment 17:49 Reflection and Study Activity 21:02 Final Thoughts and Outro

Setting the Stage for Jesus: Why John the Baptist Matters
Preparing for Resurrection Sunday: John the Baptist, Repentance & Baptism In this Coffee with Hales episode, I kick off a short series to prepare our hearts for Resurrection Sunday by reflecting on John the Baptist and his role in setting the stage for Jesus’ ministry. I connect John’s humble witness to Jesus with Old Testament prophecy (Malachi) and Jesus’ own words identifying John as the Elijah-like forerunner, then walk through John’s message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand,” emphasizing the shift from an earthly expectation to a spiritual, eternal kingdom. I explain repentance as a changed mind that produces a changed life, highlight John’s confrontation of Pharisees and Sadducees about fruit and personal accountability, and explore baptism as a “parting waters” theme tied to Exodus and new covenant renewal. I close with reflection questions on spiritual fruit, personal responsibility, and life priorities. 00:00 Welcome and Series Intro 00:43 Why John Matters 02:05 Prophecy of Elijah 05:27 John the Wilderness Prophet 07:54 Repent Kingdom Near 11:26 What Repentance Means 12:11 Calling Out Pharisees 14:30 Personal Accountability Today 16:25 Baptism and Parted Waters 18:40 Jesus Baptized and Confirmed 22:03 Reflection Questions and Wrap

Infertility & Biblical Purpose | When A Bible Verse Breaks Your Heart
Be Fruitful and Multiply: A Biblical Perspective for Infertility & Singleness In this Coffee With Ha episode, I wrestle with the phrase “be fruitful and multiply” and why it can feel haunting in church culture—especially for those facing infertility or singleness. Using Genesis 1:27–28, I explain that this command was given specifically to Adam and Eve to fill the earth and exercise dominion, not as a blanket requirement for all women. I also address the false idea that God withholds children because you haven’t done enough spiritually, noting that Scripture shows no formula for receiving blessings. From the New Testament, I highlight that God uses people without spouses or children (including Paul) and that our purpose is serving the Lord and making disciples (Matthew 28), multiplying God’s word through gifts, relationships, time in Scripture, and the roles we already have. I close with John 15 on abiding in Christ through disappointment. 00:00 Welcome and Topic 00:20 Why This Haunts 01:40 Genesis Context 03:10 Not a Blanket 04:57 No Formula Blessings 06:11 Rethinking Blessings 08:21 New Testament Framework 09:44 Singleness and Purpose 12:48 Make Disciples 15:38 Fruitful in Infertility 19:00 Abide and Closing

Could this be the root of your anxiety?
Inspiration from Berean Bible Church: https://open.spotify.com/episode/0Ml6mrlEeoUXwY1fSIMkKG?si=2e9da57b618548e6 Trading Anxiety for Praise: Pride, God’s Sovereignty, and Living One Day at a Time I’m getting back to the basics of Coffee with Hales—starting the day with a biblical perspective—by talking about anxiety and the idea that its root can be pride. I reflect on how constant notifications and a self-focused culture feed worry, but ultimately anxiety is fearing outcomes I can’t control and doubting God’s sovereignty. Using God’s questions to Job, observations from creation (like my chickens and gardening), and Jesus’ command in Matthew to not worry, I’m reminded that I’m not in charge and that’s freeing. I share how “don’t worry about tomorrow” shaped my dad’s outlook during his cancer journey, connect it to Paul’s thorn and God’s sufficient grace, and point to manna as daily dependence. I close with Philippians 4: pray with thanksgiving, dwell on what’s true, and trade anxiety for praise. 00:00 Welcome and Updates 01:04 Why Anxiety Matters 02:05 Anxiety Rooted in Pride 02:32 Gods Sovereignty in Job 03:17 Creation Lessons and Trust 04:16 Jesus Command Do Not Worry 06:45 Living for Today 07:55 Grace in Weakness 09:05 Daily Dependence Like Manna 09:40 Philippians Anxiety to Praise 10:57 Springtime Closing Encouragement 11:38 Final Thanks and Goodbye

Jeffrey Epstein: A Beginner’s Guide to the Story
In this Coffee with Hales episode, I walk through an “Epstein 101” timeline for anyone feeling overwhelmed by the recent Epstein file releases. Revelation Ep 7 | Babylon, the Millennium & the Meaning of “Soon”
Revelation Wrap-Up: Babylon, Jesus’ Return & End Times Timelines (Futurist vs Preterist) In this final Coffee with Hales episode on Revelation, I walk through Revelation 17–22 and compare key end-times viewpoints. We read about “Mystery Babylon” and cover major interpretations: a future literal rebuilt Babylon, a symbolic global system, a revived Roman empire, or (in partial preterism) Jerusalem tied to the AD 70 judgment. We then move into Revelation 19’s picture of Jesus’ return on a white horse—Faithful and True, crowned with authority, judging with righteousness, and identified as the Word of God and King of Kings. Next is Revelation 20 and the debate over the thousand years, Satan’s binding and final defeat, and the Great White Throne judgment. I lay out timeline summaries for premillennial dispensationalism (church age → rapture/tribulation → second coming → millennium → judgment → new creation), partial preterism (Pentecost as the start of the millennium, AD 70 as major judgment, still awaiting second coming and final judgment), and full preterism (fulfillment by AD 70 and living in the new heavens and new earth). We close in Revelation 22 with the River/Water of Life theme tied to Jesus as living water, and I discuss the debate over Jesus’ final words “Surely I am coming soon,” including how “soon/quickly” is argued from Greek usage. The takeaway is that Jesus keeps His promises and Revelation presents Him as the conquering King who vindicates His people. 00:00 Welcome Back + Wrapping Up the Revelation Series 00:38 Revelation 17: Who Is “Mystery Babylon”? Practical Advent Episode 3 | Shalom at Christmas: Wholeness in a Broken Season
Sometimes there isn’t peace at Christmas—and that can feel discouraging when peace is one of the main themes of Advent. In this episode of our Practical Advent series, we explore what biblical peace (shalom) really means and why it’s more than the absence of conflict. Through Scripture, we’re reminded that peace is a state of wholeness and restoration made possible through Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Even when family tension, unmet expectations, or conflict are present, we can live from a place of peace because of who we are in Christ. This episode offers a practical and biblical perspective on pursuing peace this Christmas—not by forcing calm or ignoring issues, but by choosing restoration, servanthood, and gospel-shaped love.

I'm excited to close this series on the topic of faith deconstruction. Lately, my TikTok feed has been flooded with videos using hashtags like #deconstructingevangelicalism and #exvangelical—and I have to admit, many of the arguments were compelling. As my curiosity grew, I realized I was fully invested in exploring this further. In this series, I'll do my best to address these criticisms—many of which are legitimate—through a biblical perspective. My hope is that this journey inspires you to roll up your sleeves and thoughtfully engage with these topics through the lens of Scripture. Does Yahweh Permit Divination Practices In The Bible? | 8

My hope is that this journey inspires you to roll up your sleeves and thoughtfully engage with these topics through the lens of Scripture. When watching the deconstruction videos, I agree with the overall sentiment here. Duping people to equate an emotional high with being in the Lord’s presence or that feeling is the HS at work – happens, and that isn’t a Biblical foundation for a relationship with the Lord. And I believe this trend of seeking “God experiences” has led many people to leave the church. Deconstructing | Manipulation Through Worship | 5
I'm excited to kick off this new series on the topic of faith deconstruction. When watching the deconstruction videos, I agree with the overall sentiment here. Duping people to equate an emotional high with being in the Lord’s presence or that feeling is the HS at work – happens, and that isn’t a Biblical foundation for a relationship with the Lord. And I feel this trend of seeking “God experiences” has caused many people to walk away from the church. But with that being said – While I do believe there are churches out there today intentionally manipulating people to have an experience they continually crave and come back for – equally there are many well intended churches who are just replicating what has been and is done in the modern day church with no ill-intention - So this is not blanket criticism of all churches – and all worship within the church. If you are a part of a church, I’ll encourage you to listen to this with an open mind. Reflecting on your worship time and intention. Filter what I say with a Biblical perspective and see if it has credence, and if you think it does, make adjustments you feel are appropriate. Or maybe you’ll disagree and completely reject this, citing your Biblical evidence – either way – I feel in this series this idea has to be addressed – b/c in my research of deconstructing Christianity, this is a theme – walking away b/c they felt the church system was based on emotional manipulation with the goal to fill the seats. Now although it’s engineered behind the scenes to evoke emotions -- this response is usually genuine to the worshiper – and that’s okay – HOWEVER when this experience is usually twisted into you NEED THAT feeling – b/c that feeling is God --- and THAT emotion is the HS – THAT experience is what you need to get to know the Lord – and you can only FIND that delicately curated connection with God in this specific environment and this specific church with the best musicians, musical instruments and aesthetics – that’s dangerous. We start to worship an experience, mistaking that for the Lord. It’s performative.
