    Flos Carmeli Prayer (With Music)

On this Feast , we lift our hearts with the ‘Flos Carmeli,’ invoking Our Lady’s guidance and protection.***Flower of Carmel,Tall vine, blossom-laden;Splendor of heaven,Childbearing yet maiden,None equals thee.Mother so tender,Who no man didst know,On Carmel’s childrenThy favors bestow,Star of the Sea.Strong stem of Jesse,Who bore one bright flower,Be ever near usAnd guard us each hour,Who serve thee here.Purest of lilies,That flowers among thorns,Bring help to the true heartsThat in weakness turnAnd trust in thee.Strongest of armor,We trust in thy might:Under thy mantle,Hard-pressed in the fight,We call to thee. Our way uncertain,Surrounded by foes,Unfailing counselYou offer to thoseWho turn to thee.O gentle Mother,Who in Carmel reigns,Share with your servantsThat gladness you gainedAnd now enjoy.Hail, Gate of Heaven,With glory now crowned,Bring us to safety,Where thy Son is found,True joy to see. Amen.Holy Mary, Mother of Christ,Hear the cry of your servants,And bring down heavenly aidIn answer to our prayer.Let us pray.By a special privilege, Lord,You have adorned the Carmelite OrderWith the name of Your Mother,The most glorious Virgin Mary.Grant, as we faithfully remember this honor,That in these days we may receive her protection,And in the days to come,We may be brought to everlasting happiness. This we ask of You,Who are living and reigning forever. 35. Let Us Make Good Use Of Time - Divine Intimacy Meditations

Based on a reading from: Divine Intimacy: Meditations on the Interior Life for Every Day of the Liturgical Year Author: Father Gabriel of St. Mary Magdalen, O.C.D. Meditation: 35. Let Us Make Good Use Of Time.As another year passes, do you ever stop to consider the true value of your time? Our life on earth is a finite, precious gift from God, a definite period assigned to us for one purpose: to let our love grow into an abyss. It is a profound and urgent truth that "Time ill spent is lost forever", for when our short day on earth is done, "the night cometh when no man can work." In that moment, we will be established forever in the degree of love we reached in time; the love we cultivate now becomes our unchangeable, eternal reality. To answer this call, we must fulfill our daily duties "with our whole heart." This truth can bring regret, yet it is in looking upon the time we have lost that we discover God’s infinite power. As St. Teresa of Avila prayed, we can trust that our merciful Lord can take our past failings and, in a single moment, turn that loss into gain. Join us for this profound meditation to learn how to redeem the time you have left and find encouragement to make each moment eternal, so that you may appear before God wearing the wedding garment He desires for you.

    34. A Sign of Contradiction - Divine Intimacy Meditations

Just as we settle into the joy of the Christmas season, the liturgy confronts us with a piercing note of sorrow through Simeon's prophecy. The words spoken to Mary "And thy own soul a sword shall pierce" mingle the bloody vision of the Cross with the tender scene of the Nativity. This meditation explores the profound reality of Jesus as a "sign which shall be contradicted"—a divine reality that forces a choice, a loving solicitation that human freedom can tragically refuse. This prophecy reveals the great mystery and tremendous responsibility of our freedom. While God extends His offer of salvation, we are each free to either accept or reject it. We see a stark contrast between the souls prepared to receive the Savior, those who, like Simeon and Anna, cultivate rectitude, prayer, and a sincere longing for God—and those unprepared for His coming. This meditation invites us to examine our own hearts: are we, like Simeon and Anna, prepared to receive our Savior? Or does our freedom become a barrier to His redemptive work?Reading from: Divine Intimacy: Meditations on the Interior Life for Every Day of the Liturgical Year Author: Father Gabriel of St. Mary Magdalen, O.C.D. Meditation: 34. Reflections on Divine Intimacy: Meditation 1 – The Lord Comes from Afar (Part 3 of 3) - Repost In this first episode of a three-part series, we reflect on the First Sunday of Advent using Divine Intimacy Meditation No. 1, “The Lord Cometh From Afar,” by Father Gabriel of St. Mary Magdalen, OCD. As we begin the holy season of Advent, we focus on awakening from spiritual sleep and preparing our hearts for Christ’s coming, inspired by themes from today’s liturgy and Scripture. This meditation introduces us to the triple coming of Christ: in love at Bethlehem, in grace to our souls, and in justice at the end of time. Through this reflection, we are invited to embrace His grace, “put on the armor of light,” and foster a vigilant, trusting expectation.Join us as we journey through Advent, seeking to grow in holiness and intimacy with God, while preparing to celebrate the Mystery of the Incarnation.Resources:Divine Intimacy: Meditations on the Interior Life for Every Day of the Liturgical Year by Fr.

Decid, dulce Amor, decid:¿qué mandáis hacer de mí?--- * This podcast is created and published by A Little Pilgrim * To explore more podcast platforms and listen to my other podcast Under Thy Protection - traditional Catholic prayers and prayers for inner healing and deliverance please visit:  alittlepilgrim.org/podcasts or find it on Spotify. The Separate Vocations of Man and Woman: Unpacking Chapter 2 of Edith Stein's "Essays on Woman"

In this episode of Edith Stein's Essays on Women, we explore the concept of "vocation" not just as a job, but as a divine calling. We'll look into the separate and shared vocations of men and women as described through different historical and spiritual orders: the original order of creation, the order after the Fall, and the order of redemption.Join us as we examine biblical passages from Genesis to understand the original relationship between man and woman—a partnership of love where they were jointly tasked to be the image of God, masters of the earth, and to bring forth posterity. We'll then discuss how the Fall transformed this partnership into one of sovereignty and subordination, assigning man the struggle for existence and woman the hardship of childbirth. The discussion will also touch on how redemption through Christ aims to restore the original, harmonious order. We'll analyze how the nature of both men and women reflects these different orders, exploring man's primary vocation as a ruler and woman's as a mother, and how these roles are meant to be complementary. Finally, we'll consider the practical implications for modern life, including professional work outside the home and the idea that all work, when understood as God-given, becomes a service to God. * This podcast is created and published by A Little Pilgrim * To explore more podcast platforms and listen to my other podcast Under Thy Protection - traditional Catholic prayers and prayers for inner healing and deliverance please visit:  alittlepilgrim.org/podcasts or find it on Spotify. The Ethos of Woman: Unpacking Chapter 1 of Edith Stein's "Essays on Woman"

Welcome to the inaugural episode of our series, where we embark on a profound exploration of Edith Stein's seminal work, "Essays on Woman". In this foundational episode, we delve into Chapter 1, "The Ethos of Women's Professions," offering a comprehensive overview of its rich and insightful themes.Join us as we first define "ethos" as an intrinsic spiritual attitude or "habitus" that shapes our actions from within. We then unpack "professional ethos," understanding it as the abiding spiritual attitude that transforms a career into an "authentic vocation," rather than merely a source of income or pastime. Every profession, from the helpful nurse to the circumspect undertaker, is shown to possess a unique ethos. This episode then transitions into the core of Stein's argument: Woman's Natural Vocation and its Corresponding Ethos. We explore the assertion that woman, in soul and body, is inherently "destined to be wife and mother", endowed with distinct feminine characteristics like a natural inclination to cherish what is "living, personal, and whole," an aversion to abstraction, and a powerful companionate gift of empathetic interest. We also confront the "perversions of feminine nature" stemming from original sin and contrast them with the ideal of the Virgin Mary, presented as the prototype of the purely developed spouse and mother. The discussion also touches upon the role of "solid objective work" as a natural remedy for these defects.Moving beyond the natural vocation, we examine "Other Natural Feminine Vocations." Discover how women's "individual gifts and tendencies" lead them to diverse fields, and what constitutes "authentically feminine professions" rooted in "sympathetic rapport," such as nursing and education. Intriguingly, we'll explore how even traditionally "masculine" professions can be practiced in an "authentically feminine way" by focusing on humanizing influence and a "view of the whole". The Virgin Mary again emerges as a model, demonstrating quiet, observant service in professional life. Finally, we consider "The Supernatural Vocation of Woman," delving into religious life as a "total surrender to God" that uniquely fulfills woman's deepest longing to give herself lovingly. We acknowledge the "sad image of the average woman" in contemporary life, burdened or unfulfilled, and reveal that "grace and a Eucharistic and liturgical life" are the ultimate sources of strength, leading to inner peace and the true "formative principle of woman's soul".Tune in to gain a foundational understanding of Edith Stein's vision for women's ethos and professions. This is just the beginning of our journey into Chapter 1, and we invite you to join us for future episodes as we unpack these profound insights in greater detail! * This podcast is created and published by A Little Pilgrim * To explore more podcast platforms and listen to my other podcast Under Thy Protection - traditional Catholic prayers and prayers for inner healing and deliverance please visit:  alittlepilgrim.org or find it on Spotify.
