His journey began with a Mormon upbringing that led him to the mission field in Northern Japan. He would later join the U.S. Army where he served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Through all of this, Mehmet continues to seek a connection to something greater than himself. In Conversations Under the Fig Tree, he explores his continued spiritual journey and those of fellow seekers on the path to the Divine.
