A 1990 graduate of Milan High School, Jamie Johnson got his start with a local group called the Wildwood Valley Boys and a traveling band called The Boys from Indiana, for whom he sang tenor.  Noted for his good voice and songwriting abilities, Johnson took the leap of faith and moved to Nashville at age twenty-five. After starting out singing for demos, he played at the Grand Ole Opry with Gail Davies. In 2001, he joined a bluegrass band called the Sidemen, which had a regular gig at the famous Station Inn.  Fronted by Terry Eldredge, the Sidemen were known for their perfect vocal blend between Eldredge and Johnson. Partly because of that blend, six Nashville musicians – including Johnson and Eldredge – were inspired to form a bluegrass supergroup called the Grascals in 2004. Interestingly, the Grascals gave their debut performance at a small bluegrass festival in Johnson’s hometown of Milan.  With the Grascals, Johnson served as the lead guitarist (left-handed), secondary singer, spokesman, and songwriter.  At some point, Johnson started singing lead with Grascals; however, he left the group in 2015, but has recently filled in on tours. Coming up on eight years of sobriety, Jamie has become a vocal proponent for addiction therapy using music, and a strong supporter of those undergoing treatment, especially in the music business. Fighting Through Rehab, Recovery, & Addiction: Jeff Jarrett’s Recovery Story

Episode 12: Dr. Nick Hayes sits down with Hall of Fame wrestling legend Jeff Jarrett. Known for his illustrious career in the ring, Jeff talks about how he got started in the family business of sports entertainment and opens up about his personal battle with addiction and his path to sobriety. Listeners will hear firsthand how Jeff’s wrestling mentality of resilience and determination translated into his recovery journey. Jeff shares the pivotal moments that led him to seek help and the importance of never giving up, no matter how tough the fight. Join us as we delve into the inspiring story of Jeff Jarrett, proving that even in the most challenging bouts of life, recovery is not just possible but a triumphant victory. const wrapper = document?.body?.querySelector(".wpb-content-wrapper"); const mediaPlayer = wrapper?.firstChild; const video = wrapper?.lastChild; wrapper.removeChild(mediaPlayer); wrapper.removeChild(video); mediaPlayer.style.maxWidth = "500px"; mediaPlayer.style.margin = "40px auto"; wrapper.appendChild(mediaPlayer); wrapper.appendChild(video); A Little Bit About Jeff Jarrett: “Ain’t I great?” If you think Jeff Jarrett expected to hear anything other than an affirmative every time he fired that question at the WWE Universe, then you didn’t understand the character of the Fargo strutting, Technicolor dreamcoated country crooner from Music City, USA. That grinning arrogance — matched with a predilection for smashing guys over the head with a guitar — made Jarrett a career villain in both WWE and WCW. He was a successful one, too, with four reigns as WCW World Heavyweight Champion and six as WWE Intercontinental Champion with the bulk of his runs coming during a particularly excellent stretch for that title. The son of Nashville wrestling promoter Jerry Jarrett, Double J began his career as a referee, but soon enjoyed the benefits that the spawns of ring power players have always been handed. But Jarrett — unlike, say, Erik Watts — had a skillset that allowed him to succeed beyond his father’s safety net. Tune in for a candid conversation that delves into the challenges of addiction, the rewarding experiences of helping others, and the transformative impact of self-care. Jason’s story is an inspiring reminder that no matter where you come from, recovery is possible, and every individual has the potential for a brighter future. const wrapper = document?.body?.querySelector(".wpb-content-wrapper"); const mediaPlayer = wrapper?.firstChild; const video = wrapper?.lastChild; wrapper.removeChild(mediaPlayer); wrapper.removeChild(video); mediaPlayer.style.maxWidth = "500px"; mediaPlayer.style.margin = "40px auto"; wrapper.appendChild(mediaPlayer); wrapper.appendChild(video); A Little Bit About Jason Schneidman: In everything he does, Jason Schneidman draws inspiration from his Southern California roots and the fashionable surroundings where he still lives, loves and works. It’s Hollywood – both its old glamour and its modern vibe – that moves him and informs his style, his choices and his life. Growing up on the beaches of SoCal, Jason was born into a carefree, keep-it-simple lifestyle. Surfing, loud motorcycles and fast cars have been lifelong muses as have rock music legends like Jim Morrison, who set a young Jason free with his innovative music and his unstrung style. Another inspiration was in Mid-Century Hollywood where Jason found heroes both intelligent and rebellious – from James Dean to Steve McQueen. Jason’s current love of classic Hollywood infuses his work too. Back then, “every guy looked like a leading man,” he says. “And I can do those haircuts. But what really gets me pumped? Mess it up and go!” Jason cuts and styles hair like no one else. His cuts reflect his inspirations by allowing choice: classic and coiffed or tussle it and go! Either way, it always looks good…and it always, always looks cool. “A man should look and feel carefree and confident,” says Jason, “in the way he dresses and the way he wears his hair. This is what makes a man genuinely sexy.” Easy, relaxed, confident and stylish. This is who Jason is and he brings that spirit, energy and attitude to his work with each client, every day, no matter who they are.
