Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard called the entire fanbase slobs for the purpose of not selling beer to the entirety of Jack Trice Stadium. The result is that following a tough loss at Oklahoma State the fanbase is now even more unhappy.Men's basketball preceded the loss at Oklahoma State with a loss at Houston, sending them on a two game skid and likely putting a 2 seed out of reach with only three regular season games to go. The next two games, against Arizona and BYU, are both ranked games.Women's basketball had a turbulent week with a difficult loss to Baylor where everything seemed to go wrong at once, followed by a fantastic win at UCF where everything seemed to go right all at once. Houston Preview - Cornfield Sports Pod 02/21/2024

The Cyclones gear up for their biggest basketball game of the season since their showdown against Auburn when they travel to Houston to play the Cougars. It's a fire vs ice matchup with Iowa State's offensive firepower against Houston's lock down defense. The Twister Sisters also prepare for a big game against Baylor. The Clones have yet to get a win against a ranked opponent in women's basketball. A road trip to Waco could be that opportunity. A win would give the Cyclones a much needed boost as March approaches.Iowa State wrestling went 1-1 last weekend, with nearly every bout going chalk. There were a couple of exceptions to that in the dual at UNI, particularly with Paniro Johnson's stalling allowing Colin Realbuto to win the bout. The Cyclones will compete in their final dual of the season tomorrow at Mizzou.Give the Cornfield Sports Pod a like and a followFind us on twitter @CSportsPodFind Matt @SFMattISUFind Blake @blakeattack1846

The Slump Must End - Cornfield Sports Pod 02/07/2025

Iowa State men's basketball has just hit its first 3 game losing streak in 2 seasons now that losses to K-State and Kansas have fallen upon the stagnant Cyclones. With the K-State loss also went Iowa State's 29 game home winning streak, and it's back to square one tomorrow. The twister sisters are still inconsistent on the court, but recent performances by Arianna Jackson and Kelsey Joens have shown flashes of the team's potential and their underlying talent. Meanwhile, Audi Crooks and Addy Brown have continued to dominate by putting up high scoring numbers.Give the Cornfield Sports Pod a like and a followFind us on twitter @CSportsPodFind Matt @SFMattISUFind Blake @blakeattack1846

Jerome Tang Set to Struggle - Cornfield Sports Pod 01/31/2025

Tomorrow marks the day of Jerome Tang's return to Hilton Coliseum, where he most certainly will not be met with a warm welcome one year following the baseless cheating allegations against the Iowa State team, cursing out the Cyclone managers, and calling Tamin Lipsey the biggest flopper in the league. Iowa State also tends to get a little extra rowdy during white out games, and this happens to be one of those. Hilton Coliseum will be a hornets nest. The women's basketball team also just put up an honorable fight against the purple kitties at Bramlage Coliseum before falling short in overtime. If the twister sisters play the way they did in that game against any other team in the Big 12, they would be able to string a win together. Hopefully, playing that way becomes a pattern and not a fluke so that the Cyclones can compete for solid seeding in the Big 12 tournament. Cyclone Offense Remains Strong - Cornfield Sports Pod 01/24/2025

Iowa State men's basketball lost Milan Momcilovic nine days ago to injury, and in the three games that have been played since, the bench has stepped up, with Demarion Watson claiming more minutes and Curtis Jones stepping into a starting role, leading to wins in two out of the three games since then. Iowa State women's basketball remains hit or miss, struggling against West Virginia over the weekend, leaving the Cyclones winless in Morgantown. The Twister Sisters bounced back with a dominating win over BYU on Wednesday night, weathering a storm early before winning by 23. Iowa State wrestling returns to the mat tonight at Beauty and the Beast against the 22 ranked Oklahoma Sooners, who remained a part of the Big 12 in wrestling while other sports went to the SEC. Iowa State consistently performs well against Oklahoma in duals. Give the Cornfield Sports Pod a like and a follow @CSportsPod Find Matt on twitter @SFMattISU Find Blake @blakeattack1846

Pop Tarts Bowl Preview - Cornfield Sports Pod 12/27/2024

It's time for the Cyclones to step up to the plate at Camping World Stadium as they enter the Pop Tarts Bowl against the Miami Hurricanes. The Canes slate up as a tough, strength on strength matchup led by one of the best passer-receiver combos in the country with Cam Ward and Xavier Restrepo. Men's basketball enters Big 12 play in only a few days, and the Cyclones get to enter conference play against Colorado, a team that we already played once, and beat the brakes off of, in Maui. This matchup bodes well for the Cyclones, who have as many ways to score as anybody in the country. The Calm Before The Cyclone - Cornfield Sports Pod 12/20/2024

The Iowa State football team has landed four players from the transfer portal who should be immediate contributors on both offense and defense, especially since next year's team will lack playmakers Darien Porter, Jaylin Noel, and Jayden Higgins. Cyclone men's basketball had a relatively quiet week and will have one more week of relative quiet before things heat up in conference play with a trip to Colorado. The women's team, on the other hand, does not get to wait for the Big 12 gauntlet, starting their slate of league games tomorrow against Oklahoma State. Iowa State wrestling will be competing in three duals tomorrow, against Lock Haven, North Carolina, and Ohio State. Projections have the Cyclones coming out of the weekend 2-1, but there is room for things to get a little bit rougher thanks to the injury bug. The Carver Curse is Broken - Cornfield Sports Pod 12/13/2024

Cyclone men's basketball finally won at Carver Hawkeye Arena for the first time in ten years. The last time it was done Georges Niang and Naz Long were still playing, and it was the last year of Fred Hoiberg's "Hoiball" era. Now TJ Otzelberger is 3-1 against the team out east, secured ISU's first road win of the season, and has his team in the pole position heading into Big 12 play. Women's basketball was not so fortunate on Wednesday night, as they allowed a tight game where they temporarily held an advantage to slip away in the fourth quarter. They let off the gas, and the team out east leaned in. There is no shortage of places where the Cyclones can improve before their next true test against UConn. Football needs to be discussed as well, even though Iowa State just went through one of the most heartbreaking and brain numbing losses we've seen from this school. We struggled mightily to tackle Cam Skattebo, and made it look like he was covered in butter. Our defense had no answers to Arizona State, and our offense got progressively worse on every drive until garbage time. They have a few weeks to make corrections before playing Miami in the Pop Tarts Bowl. Big 12 Championship Preview - Cornfield Sports Pod 12/06/2024

With a win against Kansas State last week and a little bit of help from BYU, the Cyclones have made it to the Big 12 title game where they will be playing Arizona State. Arizona State just suffered a major injury on the offensive side of the ball so with Jordyn Tyson out, will it open an opportunity for Iowa State to claim their first Big 12 championship? Across the rest of college football, there is nothing but complaints regarding how the CFP selection committee is ranking teams, and some of the atrocious bias favoring the SEC and Big Ten conferences. The Big 12 and the ACC are both drawing the short end of the stick. Cyclone men's basketball acquired a marquee win on Wednesday night at Hilton Coliseum while hosting Marquette and looked dominant while doing so. Meanwhile, the rest of the AP top ten erupted into chaos. The question now is how far do the Cyclones climb? Cornfield Sports Pod 11/29/2024 - Farmageddon Preview and Maui Recap

The cardiac Clones are doing their worst in the last week with close contest after close contest, eking out wins in some sports while losing heartbreakers in others. Football needs to take momentum from their win against Utah last weekend into tomorrows Farmageddon showdown with Kansas State. No game for the Iowa State football program has ever had bigger implications than the game tomorrow. This game bears the path to the Big 12 Championship game, and therefore a path to the first ever 12 team College Football Playoff ISU men's basketball played 3 games in the Maui Invitational, unfortunately not winning the tournament, but still looking like a very dangerous team coming out of the tournament, and certainly in no danger of falling very far in the rankings. Based on other results around the top 10, it's not impossible that the men rise in the rankings despite their loss. Cornfield Sports Pod 11/22/2024 - Battle for the Big 12

Iowa State football is back in the win column following a sound victory against Cincinnati in Jack Trice Stadium, keeping the door open for a trip to the Big 12 title game. In the way stands BYU, Arizona State, and Colorado, and the Cyclones need to win out and hope for a little chaos to have a chance at the Big 12 title and a trip to the College Football Playoff Cyclone men's basketball is gearing up for one of the biggest showdowns in the country this year, and one of the biggest matchups that the Maui Invitational has ever seen when the boys in the cardinal and gold play the Auburn Tigers. Iowa State will have its work cut out for it when they try to slow down Johni Broome, Aden Holloway and the Auburn offense. The Iowa State men's and women's basketball teams are both out to hot starts, albeit against competition that is wildly inferior. Needless to say, both teams are undefeated. Soon enough they will get their first real tests, but not this week. While basketball has been winning, football has dropped games for the last two weeks, and has a chance to turn their momentum around and recover their season tomorrow against Cincinnati. Volleyball, on the other hand, is not in any position to salvage their season now. Team From Texas Comes To Ames In November

The media and the Texas Tech fanbase would have you believe that the Red Raiders, led by Tahj Brooks, are a formidable opponent who is prepared to tear into any opponent they face, but are they really? They're coming north in November into the cold, and they're flailing as a team, a perfect opportunity for the Cyclones to advance to 8-0. Cyclone volleyball has gone stone cold, with a gut wrenching loss to K-State on Sunday in 5 sets, followed by a 4 set battering in Waco at Baylor on Wednesday. They play a quality TCU team, but are they healthy and prepared enough to take on the challenges that Melanie Parra led Horned Frogs bring to them? Iowa State basketball launches on Monday for the women at 11 AM with the skip school game followed by the men at 7 PM. Both squads open the season against teams that should be inconsequential. Cyclones Take Center Stage

Iowa State stands alone in terms of athletic dominance across the board. They are the only school with a top 10 team in football, men's basketball, and women's basketball, and that's only the beginning of the story as the Cyclones place themselves at the top of every discussion for the 2024-25 athletic year. Cyclone football is off to their first 6-0 start since 1938 after a solid performance in Morgantown against the Mountaineers in prime time, marking this team's seventh consecutive road win and firmly establishing a spot in the discussion for the Big 12 Championship game and a spot in the College Football Playoff Iowa State volleyball has not been off to anywhere near as stellar of a start of conference play as injuries and illness plague the team. Elite outside hitter Nayeli Gonzalez is out for the year, and Maya Duckworth and Pam McCune haven't played in two weeks. Cyclone State!

The Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk series is off to a hot start for the cardinal and gold donning school from Ames. It began Saturday with a dramatic come from behind victory led by a stellar second half performance from Rocco Becht, Jayden Higgins, Jaylin Noel, Darien Porter, and the freshman kicker who stole the show with seconds remaining on the scoreboard, Kyle Konrardy. The Cyclones didn't stop there though. Rather, it was only the beginning of a year that has high potential for Iowa State athletics to dominate their foes on I-80. Volleyball answered the call on Wednesday en route to a 3-1 win that was more dominant than a 4 set game typically is, and they set the score of the Cy-Hawk series to 5-0 Clones. Tomorrow marks the biggest day on the calendar for the state of Iowa as tensions will run high, many beers will be consumed, meat will be smoked, and one school will hoist the Cy-Hawk trophy on their shoulders as they walk out of Kinnick Stadium? Will Iowa State effectively be able to gash the team out east's defense with Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel? Or will the lack of Caleb Bacon result in the team out east defeating us with the run? Iowa State volleyball got out to a slow start to the season at the UNLV invite against Pacific and the host school UNLV, but after game one of the Cyclone Invite our ladies appear to have bounced back and are ready to contend against Wake Forest tonight and Illinois tomorrow, not to mention against the team out east on Wednesday of next week, all in games at Hilton Coliseum. Chaos is Coming

We don't exactly compare the Minnesota Twins and the St Louis Cardinals all that often, but one thing that can be said about both teams is that they are incredibly streaky, each having runs recently where they were really hot and each team also having a seven game losing streak mixed in. The Western Conference Finals look like they're going to be every bit as entertaining as the semifinals ended up being, with dynamic combinations of matchups competing against each other as Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and the Mavericks try to knock off Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert, and Karl-Anthony Towns for a spot in the NBA Finals The path has been paved for college sports to change forever as the NCAA and the power conferences have agreed to a $2.7 billion settlement in House v NCAA, meaning that pay for play will now be a part of college sports. Amateurism is dead, cast by the wayside, and the new path forward has a lot of brand new questions that need to be answered as we head to uncharted territory. On To Game 7

The series between the Timberwolves and the Nuggets went from potential beat down to one of the most unpredictable and exciting events we've seen in the NBA this season, as the Nuggets put up 3 consecutive wins and the Timberwolves put up one of the most dominant games in the history of the NBA playoffs. The Twins went from being one of the hottest teams in baseball to going ice cold after only scoring one run in their series against the New York Yankees and disastrously giving up a six run lead to the Toronto Blue Jays in the last week as they slipped back to third place in the AL Central. Speaking of the AL Central, the White Sox seem to be heating up as we progress into the season. The NFL has released the full schedule for the 2024 season, complete with new schedule release videos by each team to entertain us for the time being. NBA's New Era

For the first time in forever, we have an NBA second round without the likes of Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, or Lebron James. Instead we usher in a new generation of stars, led by MVP Nikola Jokic and the offensive face of the Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards. ESPN released their way too early rankings for men's and women's college basketball, and naturally that means we have to start drawing conclusions about where teams are going to end up, right? Who could surprise, who could disappoint, and how Iowa State might fit in the rankings on both sides of the ball are all things that need to be discussed. The Twins are still the hottest team in baseball after winning 15 of their last 17 games, and the Cardinals are now the coldest team in baseball after losing 5 games in a row, and the Cubs and Brewers can't seem to decide who's going to take the top spot in the NL Central. Home Run Sausage

The Minnesota Twins are officially the hottest team in the MLB whilst playing what is arguably the most stacked division in baseball, something that nobody expected. Their good luck charm is a bit unusual, and perhaps a bit unsanitary, according to manager Rocco Baldelli. The Minnesota Timberwolves have accomplished the first playoff sweep in franchise history, and in the process they proved that Ant-Man is definitely a better basketball player than Kevin Durant. This team is dominant, and may be the perfect style to win in an upset against the Nuggets in the conference semifinals. Iowa State unveiled new football uniforms to mixed opinions from the fanbase, and of course we're ready to give our opinions, and deal with the unfortunate pain of giving the team out east credit where it's due. Draft Wisely

The NFL Draft begun last night and made the usual headlines regarding who was drafted first, which quarterbacks went in which order, where the top wide receiver went, among others. Additionally, it also was among the most heavily offensive first rounds on record, tying the most ever offensive players in the first round and the fastest the top five quarterbacks have ever been taken. The NBA playoffs are humming along through the first round, and the Bucks-Pacers series is anyone's guess who's to win with how hot and cold the Bucks can be on a game by game basis. Meanwhile in the Western Conference, the Timberwolves are up two games to zero on the Suns and their defense looks like they'll suffocate their way into the second round. The White Sox are on pace for what very well may be one of the worst seasons in MLB history, still having only 3 wins to their name due to the lack of firepower in their batting lineup and missing depth from the mound. They're missing options to turn their season around, and they don't have enough assets to be a selling team later in the season. Will The Real Title IX Please Stand Up?

Once again, the actions of politicians and bureaucrats have impacted the world of collegiate athletics. Naturally, we have to address the topic and explain what we think is going to happen next, not only to women's sports, but to men's sports as well. The NBA Play In Tournament is ongoing, and the Chicago Bulls won the first game that they needed to in order to make it to the playoffs. In the process, Coby White dropped a career high scoring total and the Atlanta Hawks were torched. Our NHL season coverage has come to a close, as none of the local teams were able to make it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. If nothing else, it means that the Blackhawks are on the same footing as the Wild and the Blues for the first time since opening night. Whatever the Twins are doing at the plate right now, they need to just do the opposite of, because if it can go bad, it is. They can't hit to save their lives, and if the offense doesn't turn around quickly, they're in for a long season in the much improved AL Central Give the Cornfield Sports Pod a like and a follow Find us on twitter @CSportsPod Find Matt @SFMattISU Find Blake @blakeattack1846 Find producer Vinnie @VinaciousD23

    Cyclone Hoops Ends, MLB Begins

The season is over for both Iowa State men's and women's basketball after losses in the Sweet Sixteen and the round of 32 respectively. The feeling around each of these losses is very different, with the men not meeting expectations and the women exceeding them. We talk about what went wrong at TD Garden in the game against Illinois. Yesterday was opening day for Major League Baseball, and for most of the teams we cover it was a rough day as 4 of the 6 took losses, and one took a rain delay, leaving the Twins as the lone local team to claim a win on opening day. This win was soured by potential injuries to Royce Lewis and Max Kepler. Their status remains to be seen. We are only a few weeks away from the NBA and NHL playoffs beginning, and powerhouses like the Timberwolves and Bucks are jockeying for standing with the Bulls holding on to a play in spot. The NHL is a bit rougher among local teams with the Blues likely to make it and the Wild having to fight their way in. And the Blackhawks...are the Blackhawks. Iowa State Men's Basketball: Bobby Witt's Team?

The Cyclones dispatched South Dakota State last night by a 17 point margin of victory, advancing to the second round where they will face the Washington State cougars. This may be an optimal matchup for the Cyclones stylistically, and we explain why. The Cyclone women begin their tournament run tonight in a game against Maryland at Stanford's home gym. Expect a lot of offense, defense that is average at best, and plenty of looks down low to Audi Crooks, because Maryland doesn't seem to have an answer for her. The Timberwolves are slipping in the seeding of the Western Conference in the NBA and the Chicago Blackhawks are still really bad, but is anyone really paying attention to that during March Madness? The MLB begins regular season play this coming Thursday, and we analyze the local teams first matchups, who's going to be on the hill for each of our teams on opening day, Byron Buxton and Royce Lewis being healthy, and Bobby Witt knowing ball. Our Iowa State Cyclones have accomplished a feat not done for a generation - men's basketball completed their home games this season without losing any of them. The atmosphere for this feat was incredible, and Matt's gotta tell you about just how insanely loud it got in that building on Wednesday Wrestling is entering its most intense part of the season as the Big 12 tournament begins tomorrow at the BOK Center in Tulsa. Iowa State has a large selection of #1 and #2 seeded wrestlers and should be in good position to be competing with Oklahoma State and Mizzou for their first Big 12 title since 2009 The NHL trade deadline has arrived and the Wild went wild while the Blues went mild, leaving the Blackhawks somewhere in between. And we ponder the question, do the Blackhawks have a long term strategy right now that involves further short term sacrifice? They may be dangerous in a few short years. The Biggest Bout of the Regular Season

Iowa State wrestling will close their season against Big 12 rival Mizzou, and this dual includes massive top ten matchups at both 165 lbs and at heavyweight. Undefeateds Yonger Bastida and Zach Elam will contend for the 285 Big 12 regular season crown while David Carr and Keegan O'Toole will have a long awaited rematch of the 2023 NCAA Title at 165 lbs. Iowa State basketball recreated what it means to have a good loss on the men's side of the ball, as they stayed more competitive in the Fertitta Center than any other team not named Houston has this year, even climbing in the KenPom rankings following the conclusion of the game The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking like the most credible threat to the Boston Celtics when it comes to claiming the O'Brien trophy. They already matched up twice earlier this season with the end results being a spectacle in both. Major League Baseball is finally back on the diamond as spring training begins after months of discussing free agency and trades, the pitchers are getting their arms stretched, bats are swinging, and baseballs are flying. Give Us Baseball

Today, another college baseball season begins, and another season begins without the Iowa State Cyclones competing for a division I title, but for the first time on opening day, at least we have an alternative option. We have Iowa State softball, and particularly Lea Nelson to thank for that. Chiefs Kingdom reigns for the next year, as Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, and Clark Hunt hoisted the Lombardi trophy for the 2nd consecutive year. Earning the title was no easy feat, and Matt and Blake discuss the merits of the 49ers offense and why that means the Chiefs defensive efforts were so impressive. As the Celtics continue to dominate the NBA, the number of teams that threaten to be able to claim the O'Brien trophy over them dwindles. Week in and week out, the Bucks look like less of a competitor and the Timberwolves look like the best team in the west to take them down. The Kansas City Royals are the second of the teams we cover to have unveiled renderings of a new ballpark to be built, and it looks absolutely amazing. Hardwood Havoc for Kansas and Oklahoma State

Hilton Magic claimed two more victims in the last week, first the Kansas Jayhawk men falling to our beloved Cyclones, then in the women's midweek game our ladies completed a season sweep of the Oklahoma State Cowgirls The Super Bowl is set, the two teams that made it are the two teams that deserve to have made it, our thoughts on how the rosters compare, the differences between the skill players of Kansas City and San Francisco. More to come on that in a future episode. The NBA approaches its trade deadline, and the Bulls are walking in murky waters with limited options jumping out at them but a lot of things being desired by the franchise. The Bucks and Timberwolves on the other hand, are limited by salary cap and likely won't be trading too much. The MLB had its hottest week of offseason activity yet, and we have news for all six of the teams we cover for the first time since the MLB regular season ended. Controversy With The Cats

K-State coach Jerome Tang sure seemed mad about something during Wednesday night's game in Hilton Coliseum, but is there really anything besides awful officiating that he should have been mad at? Accusations ran rampant, the rumor mill on twitter is full of nonsense, and Sports Illustrated and CBS have both ran stories that have debatable veracity about why Tang was so heated. The Milwaukee Bucks fired head coach Adrian Griffin, presumably as a result of the distinct lack of defense that the Bucks have been able to play this year. Their offense has been able to cover the gap so far, but will the risk end up paying off? Matt's childhood baseball hero has been voted into Cooperstown on his first Hall of Fame ballot, and of course he's incredibly excited to see Joe Mauer earn such a valuable honor after a career played entirely for Joe's hometown Minnesota Twins. Bally Sports on Amazon Prime

The biggest news in the sports world at the moment might be that Amazon just invested a minority stake into Diamond Sports Group, who owns the broadcast rights to 15 NBA, 11 NHL, and 11 MLB teams Men's and women's basketball each had high and low points in the last week with statement wins and heartbreaking midweek losses as the teams prepare to bounce back. Women's basketball earned a win by forfeit over TCU because of a lack of available players, and TCU's solution might have some significant problems. Are the Minnesota Timberwolves the best team in the NBA right now. Our thoughts on why they may be the team to win the O'Brien trophy this season. Houston, We Are Your Problem

Upset week has arrived in college basketball, and there's a lot of chaos to break down both in men's and women's ball as the competitive parity of the Big 12 makes itself increasingly apparent. Don't forget about the players that don't necessarily fill up the stat sheet with mind blowing numbers. Robert Jones against Houston and Kelsey Joens against West Virginia played key roles in pivotal moments that let to Cyclone Victories this week. The NFL Wild Card has arrived, and there are some opinions to be had about how one game in particular is being made public in comparison to all of the other games not only this year, but through recent history as well. Major League Baseball finally saw some more action in the offseason as the rosters begin to take shape. Time continues to dwindle before spring training begins and there are still plenty of free agents to sign and trades to make. New Year, Same Bowl Assignment As 5 Years Ago

Matt's less than happy about the result of the Liberty Bowl game after the loss to Memphis, which is to be expected. He's also significantly less happy about the way the bowl game was ran, with Iowa State being treated as a true road team as opposed to the neutral site that a bowl game is supposed to be. Cyclone basketball begins its grueling conference slate, with the men preparing for their first game in Big 12 play and the women off to a 2-0 start with wins against Oklahoma State and Kansas The NFL is entering week 18. Do or die for some teams, like the Vikings, and a glorified bye for others, like the Chiefs, whose spot in the playoffs is already sealed. And let's just say our NHL teams have had a rough week. Kansas City Regresses Into Mediocrity

Matt has a message for his fellow Kansas City Chiefs fans. Two things can be true at once. Yes, 9 times out of 10 players will not be called offsides for being lined up in the same place that Kadarius Toney was. It was still the correct call. It was selective enforcement. If you're going to complain, at least make the right complaint. The Wild have been wild, as their program appears to have completely turned around since they underwent their coaching change, gaining ground in the Central division. And believe it or not, the Bulls are actually playing good basketball now that Coby White has found his stroke from the 3 point line. Hilton Massacre

December 7, roughly 8:30 PM. Iowa State has obliterated the team out east in the Cy-Hawk men's basketball game, so much so that ESPN's announcer says that Hilton Magic gave way to the Hilton Massacre. That is what the 600th win in Hilton Coliseum shall be known as for all time. Don't forget that earlier in the day ISU alum Tyrese Haliburton led the Indiana Pacers to a NBA In Season Tournament semifinal win over the Bucks, and dropped a dagger 3 in the final minute to seal it And a topic that we've mentioned a few times before on the show, where oh where will the future lie for the Arizona Coyotes, because it definitely does not look like it will be in Arizona. Salt Lake City, Houston, Kansas City, and Atlanta seem to be the prime contenders. One glorious weekend remains in college football's regular season before we enter the also glorious conference championship season and the (shocker) glorious bowl season, and our beloved Cyclones face down Kansas State in our most historic and newly unprotected rivalry The tides are turning in the NFL with the Broncos and the Packers on the rise while we see teams like the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs taking steps back. The NBA is beginning to sort itself out as we enter December and teams not named the Chicago Bulls are finding their identities and how they plan on competing not only for the O'Brien Trophy but also for the championship of the new NBA in season tournament. We're beginning to see some trends forming in the NHL and in the NBA, and the NFL franchises we cover ran headfirst into adversity this last week Matt and Blake dig into all of this and more on this week's episode of the Cornfield Sports Pod
