We looked at one last week; this week we look at a couple of others—conversations that remind us of the charge we’ve been given as Christ’s ambassadors as well as a conversation that meets us where we are, even when we have questions. In a world filled with anxiety, conflict, and constant noise, we are all longing for peace—but where can it truly be found? In this message from our Characters of Christmas Advent series, we turn to the angels of Luke 2 and the powerful declaration they made on the night Jesus was born: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace…” Join us as we learn how Jesus is not only the Gift of Peace, but He is also the Giver of Peace. 

This sermon launches our Advent series by focusing on the prophets—often forgotten yet essential “characters” in the Christmas story—who waited with steadfast hope for the coming of Christ. Looking at Romans 15:12–13, we see that the same God who fulfilled His promises then is the same God who fills His people with an abounding hope today. In a world marked by uncertainty, this message reminds us that true hope is found not in circumstances, but in the God of hope Himself.
