Earth Angels in ESE
I may talk a lot of shit about my job, but if there's one department that has never steered me wrong and has helped me evolve both professionally and personally, it is ESE. Misconceptions about ESE teachers portray them as "babysitters" for kids with severe disabilities, when in fact, they are a team who provide levels of academic and behavioral interventions to help those with SPECIFIC learning disabilities. Our public school system was designed to serve a very limited number of students, those of the correct gender, race, ability, and socioeconomic status. Join me and my colleague Kristen, as we talk about serving students in flawed system, grounding ourselves in the midst of daily chaos, and practicing inner work in order to be the best version of ourselves and be a sponsor for change.

Tea on year 3
Solo yap sesh with yours truly <3 I felt the need to spill the tea on year three. Being a school counselor as a millennial in 2026 is definitely something to see, and I can assure you there's never a dull moment. It has certainly been a journey, and I'm learning a lot about myself- also learning that maintaining grace at work is a discipline. I'll be honest, there are things that I wish someone would have told me going into this role. Tune in, and let me bring you up to speed on how I got here, what I deal with, what I've learned to unlearn, and the key lessons I'm taking away as I go!

We are not the lesson plan
Working in education is NOT for the weak, and it will have you fighting for your life at times. It's good to have friends in the field, especially one's who aren't new to this rodeo. From Florida to Massachusetts, my girl Sara is feeding young minds! Join us by the pool while we swim through topics like imposter syndrome, tackling student loans, "radicalizing" the youth, the 'Blind Leading the Blind', and surviving the public school system. Bring a floatie!

Crash Out Corner
Managing rage is a discipline- no one is exempt from crashing out. But why is this the norm? Is there a bigger picture behind it? Did COVID help or hurt adolescent coping skills? In this debut episode of my new podcast series, I chat with a former student where we cover the art of crashing out, mental health awareness, coping mechanisms, inner work, and story tell where we share our not-so-gracious moments. Grab a snack (or a drink) and join our yap sesh!
