The Corner Connection – My Summertime Childhood Memories
On this Corner Connection, we’re taking a trip back in time to the summers that MADE us. It all started with a conversation with my son about my childhood — and next thing you know, I’m right back on Flatbush Avenue in the 80s. Playing in the summer heat and runny in the Johnny Pump. Collecting cans at the Junction for five cents apiece to get my candy money. This isn’t just nostalgia — it’s about growing up in the 70’s and 80’s and the independence that shaped who we became. And you KNOW I had to take y’all down south too — the overnight drive with Wonder Bread and chicken in brown paper bags, South of the Border fireworks, Grandma’s dirt road in South Carolina under the stars. I got goosebumps just telling this story today. Tap in and take this ride with me: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop me a comment with YOUR summertime memories — what city were you in, what was popping in your neighborhood, and what’s the one memory you’d go back and relive? Motivational Monday - It's Time To Reset Your Algorithm?
In this episode, we're getting into something that is affecting every single one of us whether we realize it or not — and that's Resetting Your Algorithm. Now I know when you hear that word — Algorithm — it might sound like something only tech folks need to worry about. But trust me, this one is for all of us. Whether you're glued to Instagram, scrolling TikTok, or just living your daily life, your algorithm is running in the background, feeding you content, ideas, and energy — and most of us haven't stopped to ask: is what I'm being fed actually serving me? I got real in this episode, FAM. I shared how I used to not even like social media because everything I saw felt like WorldStar or TMZ — nothing positive, nothing productive, nothing that was feeding my growth. But over the past four years, I've intentionally curated my algorithm around finance, fitness, health, social justice, and finding good deals — and I want to challenge you to do the same thing. I even broke down the heartbeat monitor as a metaphor: your life has a rhythm, a pace, a pattern — and you need to know what yours is so you can protect it. Here's the moment in this episode that I need you to sit with: The sad part is being inside the Matrix and not knowing you're in the Matrix. FAM, if you can't see the code, you're caught in it. And this episode is your reminder to wake up, reset, and take back control of what you're allowing into your mind and your space. We're not going to let the negativity program us. We're going to build our algorithm on purpose — with purpose. Tap in and let's build together: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop me a comment and tell me — what does YOUR algorithm look like? What are you intentionally feeding your mind? Let's talk about it! 💬 Connect with Cousin Ed: 762-333-2032 or @CousinEdsCorner on all platforms. Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - How God Used Basketball To Change My Life
In today's episode, I'm taking y'll all the way back to to my days in Brooklyn — and all the way forward to this week's NBA Draft — because God's timeline is nothing short of miraculous. I'm sharing a personal testimony and it starts with a basketball goal in my daddy's yard and ends with me watching one of my former players have his NBA dreams come true. Everything in between? That was ALL God. A stranger in a grocery store. A field trip I didn't plan. A scholarship that got cut in half. Lonely college nights with nothing but the Bible and Matthew 6:34 to hold onto. A private Catholic school in the mountains of Central PA that changed my life. A decade of pouring into young men in the Atlanta area. All of it — every valley, every redirect, every test — was part of the plan. But this episode isn't just my story. It's many of our stories. If you're in the middle of your life's ocean right now with no life jacket in sight, I need you to hear this: your natural instinct is to FIGHT. Don't lay down. Don't give up. Even when the armor of God is on, the arrows still sting — but that doesn't mean He failed you. It means He wants to see what you're going to do. Call your lifeline. Ask for prayer. Sit with somebody. Seek Him first. You are not alone, FAM. You have never been alone. Tap in to this episode and then pass it to somebody who needs to hear it today. Drop me a comment, shoot me a text, and let me know what part of this testimony hit home for you. When My Sistah Wins We All Win - ft Yvonne Sims
In this episode, we're getting to the ROOT of things — literally. Today I'm sitting down with Yvonne Sims, the founder of Soul Growery, and this woman is on a MISSION. We're talking about growing your own food, rebuilding lost generational knowledge, and how one sister walked away from almost 20 years in the corporate world to build a half-million-view brand by simply being herself. This isn't just about gardening — it's about US, our community, our connection to the earth, and the power of getting back to the basics that our grandparents lived every single day. Yvonne's grandmother was clipping lettuce fresh from the garden in Germany. Her grandfather worked 100 acres of land in the American South. And now Yvonne is on a mission to make sure WE don't lose that knowledge forever. We covered what to plant RIGHT NOW this season, the truth about hydroponics (you don't need thousands of dollars — I promise), the real difference between gardening and homesteading, and why authenticity on social media will always beat perfection. Yvonne also talks about how she went from 200 private followers to 6,000+ in TWO MONTHS — not because of tricks, but because she showed up real. Sound familiar, FAM? Tap in to get the full wisdom: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop me a comment about something that resonated from this conversation, and tell me — what are YOU growing right now? Whether it's a backyard garden, a pot on the balcony, or basil on your counter like Cousin Ed 😂, we want to hear from you! Motivational Monday - Missing Dad
FAM, after the Father's Day episode, so many of you reached out — and I heard you. People sharing how much they miss their dads, how they wished he had been there, how they're still carrying that weight. I couldn't let Motivational Monday pass without addressing that directly. So I stepped on the mic — on the move, because life doesn't stop — and I said what was on my heart. This episode is for everyone who grew up without a father in the home, everyone who lost their dad before they were ready, and everyone who's still asking "why." The answer? It wasn't you. It was NEVER you. Your father's absence was his chapter, not your destiny. And Cousin Ed is here to remind you that God still has a hand on your life — just like He did on Barack Obama's, even after Obama discovered the truth about a father who wasn't who he thought he was. I'm also throwing out a challenge to the whole Corner Community: Adopt a dad. Find your father figure. That mentor, that older man you trust, that person in church, in your neighborhood, in your life — let them in. We were not meant to do this alone. Let's keep rising together: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Tap in, share this one with somebody who needs it, and drop your thoughts in the comments or hit me at 762-333-2032. The Corner Connection - Juneteenth and Justice: Why Freedom And Survival Still Feel Out Of Reach?
In Today's Episode, I sat down on Juneteenth — June 19th — to do what we always do on a Friday: Thank God For Everything. I sat down, as always, to give God thanks. But FAM, God redirected this episode in a way I didn't see coming, and I had to let it come out. This episode takes me back to my Jr. High memories in Brooklyn — being surrounded by racial tension. It reminded me of the day my bus was surrounded while people with chains and bats beat on the windows. And that memory came rushing back because of what happened to a young man who faced that same kind of surrounded, cornered, no-way-out moment. He was touched, threatened, and forced to defend himself. He tried to get away. He cooperated with the police afterward. He told the truth. And YES — the justice system gave this 17-year-old young man, Karmelo Anthony, 35 years for first-degree murder. FAM, I couldn't stay quiet about that. I won't stay quiet about that. THIS EPISODE WAS SOMETHING THAT NEEDED TO BE SAID. "Why are you bothering me?" That question runs through this whole episode — and it connects every story, every name, every child we've prayed over for decades. This isn't about anger. This is about truth. This is about faith. This is about asking God to watch over us, especially when justice doesn't show up the way it should. I close this one in prayer, and I mean every word. Please tap in, share this episode with your friends, family, and loved ones, and drop me a comment. Tell me what this episode meant to you. Tell me about the moments in your life when you've had to ask "Why are you bothering me?" Let's keep this conversation going together, FAM. Motivational Monday: 53 Years in the Making — What the Knicks Championship Means Beyond Basketball
OK OK OK I cannot hold this in. The New York Knicks are NBA CHAMPIONS. 🏆🧡💙 After 53 years — after Patrick, after Starks, after Sprewell, after Marbury, after every heartbreak this city has carried — this TEAM, Our TEAM, MY TEAM, THIS TEAM OF UNDERDOGS, went all the way and brought it HOME. In this episode I'm talking about all of it — the history, the players who gave everything for this city, Jalen Brunson's story as a 6'2" point guard who was counted out on every level, and what this championship is about to do to the culture and the economy of the entire world. But I also get personal, because when I think about Jalen and his dad, I think about me and my son — and what it means to have somebody in your corner who pushes you to KNOW your greatness before the world ever agrees. That's the real conversation. This is Motivational Monday. This is Corner Connection. This is Thank God For Everything. All rolled into one. Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - Sometimes We Just Need To Call His Name
Wassssss up fam, Some days, life just throws things at you — a cold that won't quit, a car that picks the worst possible time to act up, and a Friday that doesn't feel like a Friday. But you know what I did? I turned the mic on anyway. Because sometimes the message you need to deliver is the message you need to HEAR first. 🙏🏾 In this brand new TGFE episode of Cousin Ed's Corner, I'm getting real with you, fam. I'm talking about how easy it is to see the dark side of the cloud and forget there's a silver lining waiting right there. I'm talking about unseen blessings — the accidents that didn't happen, the lists your name was never on, the quiet ways God is protecting you every single day without you even knowing. Wind Down Wednesday - Summer Summer Summer Time
In this episode, we're checking in on the FAM, talking about the real stuff that matters as we step into the back half of the year: watching the market, protecting your retirement and investment accounts, keeping some savings in the bank, and — this one is BIG — never, ever feeling ashamed to seek outside resources and programs when you need them. That's what they're there for, and there is no weakness in getting help. That's wisdom. I'm also hyping up some incredible guest episodes we've had recently and letting you know more are on the way. And yes — I made a prediction. The New York Knicks are winning the 2026 NBA Championship. On the record. Mark it down. 😂 This is what Wind Down Wednesday is all about — slowing down, checking in, and reminding you that the Corner Family has your back. The Corner Connection - Why Seeing My Daughter Come Of Age Is The World To Me
FAM, In this episode, I'm getting real about what it means to be a parent, to keep pushing, to keep talking even when your kids look at you like you're the most annoying person alive. I'm sharing what I've learned about raising children with standards and love at the same time — and why you can never stop telling your people that you love them. I'm going to be honest with you — today's episode wasn't planned to go the way it went. It was supposed to be a quick Corner Connection check-in. But when I sat down to record, I couldn't let the day go by without sharing something with you that was sitting heavy on my heart in the best way possible. Today is my daughter Keona's 18th birthday. And if you know me, you know I don't take these moments lightly. Watching her grow from my little girl into the confident, self-assured young woman she is today has been one of the greatest gifts God has ever given me. But it hasn't always been easy — not for her, and not for me as her dad. She went through moments of trying to fit in, being teased, not always looking like what the world said a girl "should" look like. She played sports. She walked her own lane. And there were times I wondered if she was going to be okay. FAM, she is more than okay. Whether you're a parent, a child, or someone who just needs to hear that growth takes time and it's worth it — this one is for you. Financial Freedom Fridays - How To Save The Most On GAS Prices
In today's episode, we're pulling up to Financial Freedom Friday and I'm going SOLO — just me, off the cuff, talking about something that has saved me over a thousand dollars and I think it can help every single person in this family. We're talking gas. Because gas prices don't care about your budget, your bills, or your plans — they just keep climbing. So I decided it's time to fight back and bring the whole Corner family with me. I walked through the two apps I personally use every single week — Upside and GasBuddy — and I didn't just talk about them. I opened them LIVE on the episode and showed you my real transactions, my real savings, and my real lifetime numbers. We're also talking about the savings mindset my dad planted in me early, how my aunt had us cutting coupons every Sunday at the kitchen table, and why every dollar you don't waste is a dollar you earned. This isn't theory, FAM. This is how I actually move. The game-changer? You can STACK both apps at the same station and walk away saving $0.20 or more per gallon just by tapping your phone before you leave the house. I've also got a pro tip in there for families with multiple cars that can multiply your savings in a single trip. I'm not a financial advisor — I'm a savings coach who came back to share what works. And if I can put even a few extra dollars back in your pocket every week, that's a win for all of us. Wind Down Wednesday - New York State of Mind: Knicks In Six
Wasssss up fam, Tonight is the night that our New York Knicks tip off against the San Antonio Spurs, and I am CALLING IT — Knicks in six. And look, we've got some 1999 business to settle. But here's what makes this episode real — it's not just about basketball. It's about loyalty to your roots, believing in something when people count you out, and finding pride in watching people you've poured into rise to the biggest stage. I got a chance to watch my former AAU player Stephane Cassell hold his own with San Antonio this year, and FAM — that kind of moment reminds you why community investment MATTERS. Motivational Monday - You Are Enough!!!
In this episode, I'm speaking directly to every content creator, every entrepreneur, every person out here giving yourself to the world and wondering if it's even worth it. The answer is YES. Because You Are Enough — and what you're creating is enough. I dropped TWO Sunday Meditation videos this weekend because of YOUR encouragement, and this episode carries that same energy forward. It's tied to a message I shared the day before — and I needed to say it again because some of y'all need to hear it more than once: stop letting the numbers, the likes, and the comparisons get you down. Somebody is watching. Somebody is listening. One view, one comment, one like — that's real impact on a real person. My brother and mentor Mr. Moody and I built Cousin Ed's Corner on one simple philosophy: if one person listens, we're happy. That still stands. We built this for YOU — not for the algorithm. So if you've been creating and feeling invisible, if you've been building and feeling behind, if you've been showing up and feeling overlooked — this episode is your reminder to keep going. Don't stop now. 💛 Tap in here 👉 https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner — and when you're done, drop a comment and tell me: what keeps YOU going when the numbers aren't where you want them? The Corner Connection - How The Unlikely Path Changed My Life
It's graduation season 🎓, FAM — and this episode, I'm taking y'all all the way back to my high school days. I'm talking about the school I NEVER planned to attend, a coach who spotted me in a hallway before I even knew who he was, and a father's wisdom that at 14 years old I almost didn't listen to. This isn't just a basketball story — this is about the redirections in life that feel like accidents but turn out to be assignments. Listen, I was one of the few freshman that year to make varsity in NYC alongside a guy who became a Hall of Famer. But the greatest gift that school gave me wasn't just a jump shot — it was a lifelong trade. And that trade has shaped my life and career to this day. 💡 I'm also getting real about what I'd do differently, what I'd tell every graduate right now, and why as parents we should never rush our kids out of the gift of time. When My Sistah Wins We All Win - ft. Diane Britt Smith 'Why Age Is Only A Number'
In this episode, we're diving deep into the power of the pivot and the truth that your purpose has no expiration date. Today, we're sharing Diane Britt-Smith's incredible journey — from a young girl in Richmond who changed her life by flipping open a course catalog, to an international journalist who traveled to 47 countries, to a woman who boldly launched a brand-new career as an actor and model at age 58. This isn't just about career changes — it's about our resilience, and the courage to run toward our purpose instead of away from our fears. Diane remines us that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is flip the script? We're sharing Diane's powerful story about embracing the gray, facing ageism head-on, and believing it's never too old and never too late. This one is for everybody who's ever felt like it's "too late" to start over. It's not. Diane's motto is "never too old, never too late," and after you hear this episode, FAM, you're going to believe it for yourself. Motivational Monday - The Sacrifice We Can Never Repay and Why Memorial Day Is Bigger Than the Battlefield
In this special episode, we're pausing to pay homage and say thank you to every serviceman and woman who served in our armed forces and gave their all for our country, our freedom, and the betterment of mankind. I'm standing in the rain to get this episode out but I felt is was that important. If Our servicemen and women can sacrifice their lives. We can take some time each and every day remembering them. But we're going deeper than the battlefield. A friend reminded me of something powerful: loss doesn't always come in uniform. So many of our service people come home carrying invisible wounds — depression, sickness, grief — and we've lost precious souls to those battles too. They deserve honor. They deserve remembrance. And anybody out there carrying something heavy right now needs to hear this: do NOT suffer in silence. You are not alone, and you were never meant to carry it by yourself. Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - Why Remembering How Far God Brought You Is Important
In this episode, we're heading into Memorial Day weekend with a quick message — but this one gets real. Today we slow down to honor what Memorial Day truly means: memorializing the soldiers, veterans, and first responders who laid down their lives for something better. We also celebrate something big for Cousin Ed's Corner — we have reached over 20,000 downloads. This was achieved organically, no fanfare, just this community on this journey. Then we discuss the comparison trap, the importance of being present, and a truth I had to be reminded of myself: sometimes God says sit — and that waiting season isn't punishment, it's preparation. We must remember God always made a way then, and He's making one now. The Corner Connection - Congratulations To The Graduating Class of 2026
In this episode, I'm sharing some big family news. Both of my kids hit major milestones this month – my son EJ graduated from college, and just yesterday, my daughter Keona graduated from High School. I'm a proud dad, feeling incredibly grateful. I talk about that surreal feeling of watching your kids grow up and chase their dreams, and how it feels like just yesterday I was dropping them off for their first day of school. But it's not just about my family; it's about our whole community. I also share a powerful story about one of my daughter's friends, a young man who showed the most incredible strength in the face of tragedy right before his own graduation. Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - Surrender, Believe, Receive And Let God Is Lead The Way
In this episode, we're diving deep into the power of unwavering gratitude and the protection of God's presence. Today, we're sharing a heart-stirring Thank God For Everything message that goes way beyond TGIF — because on the Corner, we thank God EVERY day. This isn't just about saying thank you when things are good. It's about US, our resilience, and how gratitude becomes the anchor when life cuts us down to the white meat. I'm also sharing a powerful testimony about a young man 'DJ' in our community who lost his father — a beloved coach and mentor of 20 years — and what God did for him just two weeks later on the state track and field podium. You won't believe how God showed up for this family. Have you ever wondered if God really is walking in front of you, behind you, and right there beside you? The Corner Connection - Propaganda Wars 'Wake-Up Call Preserving Black History'
In today's episode, we started off light — thanking y'all for all the love on EJ's graduation and sending blessings to every graduate out there — but this one took a turn I couldn't ignore. Tonight, we're talking about these Lego animations circulating on Instagram and TikTok that are telling the truth about America in ways our textbooks won't. From Greenwood — Black Wall Street — and some many more that America burned down. This isn't just a midweek check-in. This is about US, our history, and what we owe the next generation. They're trying to erase our story in real time. We've got to keep reading. We've got to keep teaching our kids. We've got to preserve our truth somehow, some way — because if we don't tell it, somebody else will rewrite it. Tap in to hear the full conversation: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop me a comment about a piece of Black history that changed how you see the world, and share how you're passing the truth down to the next generation in your family! Motivational Monday - Make The Hard Choices In Life
In this episode, we're diving into something REAL — a message I caught at my son EJ's college graduation that hit me so hard, I had to bring it home to the FAM. Today we're talking about looking for trouble — not the kind that hurts you, but the kind that GROWS you. Commencement speaker Tia Michelle Grace Brant shared a gem from her father: "Whenever you're having a hard time making a decision, pick the one that is the most trouble. It's almost always the right thing to do." FAM, that one rearranged my whole week. We're talking about why the easy path keeps you stuck, why standing in the gap requires courage, and why the practices, conversations, and decisions you DON'T want are the ones that build the version of you you're meant to be. Tap in to choose the trouble worth choosing: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop me a comment and tell me — what's the harder path YOU'VE been avoiding? Where are you choosing comfort over growth? And share this episode with somebody in your life who needs a push toward their purpose — a graduate, a parent, a friend at a crossroads. Thank God for Everything —We Cannot Outrun God!!!
In this episode, I talk about how bad I wanted this day to end. I sat down to record tired, ready for the day to be over — until I remembered I had just come from a wake. Somebody would have given anything for the day I was trying to fast-forward through. I also opened up, sharing something personal: the day my grandmother passed when I was 11, the years I spent upset with God after, and how I came to understand that she never left me. We're talking grief, gratitude, and how God surrounds us all. Tap in now: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop me a comment about somebody you've lost who's still walking with you, and tell me one thing you're thanking God for today. The Corner Connection - Graduation Season Is Here: Let's Celebrate Daycare to Diplomas
In this episode, I share my some conversations that I recently had that touched my spirit — including one from a longtime brother who goes all the way back to Mr. Moody's Neighborhood. After all the love, I had to come back and say thank you. Because this show? This show is my thank you letter to the world. It's not about me. It's about US. We stepping into transition season, FAM. Graduations are here. Promotions are happening. Kids are moving up — daycare to kindergarten, high school to college, college to whatever's next. Motivational Monday - Finding Clarity Over Chaos
In this episode, we're diving deep into the power of CLARITY and what it really takes to move with intention in a world full of noise. Today, fam, I'm sharing a word that came right off a Monday Prayer call with the brothers from my old church in New York — my dad led us through a meditation on Brotherly Love, and from that, the Lord laid clarity on my heart for y'all. This isn't just about goal-setting — it's about us, our peace, and the discipline of writing things down, praying things through, and protecting the path we're walking. I'm breaking down the GPS lesson — what happens when you hit the road with no plan and your phone dies — and showing why "if you don't have a plan, you just have a whim." We're talking about clearing the chaos, choosing peaceful thoughts over baited arguments, and being honest about the people in our circle who may not be walking in the same direction. Thank God For Everything - Only He Can Heal This Broken Heart
In this Thank God for Everything episode, fam, I'm bringing y'all another one straight from the heart. Today, we're continuing to lift up my daughter's friend DJ. DJ is a high school senior who lost his father this week and still had to show up to signing day, drive his father's car to school for the first time, and step into his future while carrying unimaginable grief. This isn't just an episode — it's a call for prayer. I'm sharing my own memories of losing my grandmother. I'm sharing the moment in high school when my buddy lost his father and I didn't have the words. And I'm sharing the wisdom that only comes after living for some time — the wisdom that says community is everything in our darkest moments. 🙏🏾 Tap in to pray, listen, and be encouraged: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop me a comment about a moment community showed up for you when you couldn't show up for yourself. The Corner Connection - Here Today Gone Tomorrow 'Gone To Soon'
Family, this Corner Connection is short but it's real, and I had to still connect with yll today. I was on a work call when my daughter called me in tears — and y'all already know, when your child calls crying, the whole world stops. She told me one of her good friends had just lost his father while he was at school today. And what hit even harder? I had just seen that man the day before. I knew the father for years and never even realized that was his boy. Small world, FAM. Real small world. This young man, DJ, is three weeks from graduating. Three weeks. And his whole essence and everything to the core of him just changed in a way that will never change back. His father left behind wife, 2 daughters, his grandkids, the community of kids and families he's touched. I'm asking the Corner family to lift DJ and his family up in prayer with me. And if you're carrying your own grief, your own sickness, your own heaviness right now, I see you too. Motivational Monday - Is Your Perspective Holding You Back? How to Open Your Mind Without Losing Your Ground!
In this episode, we're diving deep into the power of perspective and what it really means to stay open without losing yourself. Today, I'm sharing a real moment with my daughter that turned a simple iPad setup into a whole motivational message about stubbornness, love, and seeing things from a different angle. Many of us have walls we put up, and do not understand the breakthroughs we miss when we keep a closed mind. Remember the 6 and the 9? Same number, different side, completely different answer. Both right. We're unpacking how that one shift in viewpoint might be the very thing that changes your week. Tap in to start your week off right: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Now, I want to be clear — I'm not telling you to be a pushover. Stand your ground. Know what you believe in. The Corner Connection - How Cousin Ed's Corner Started 'My Podcast Journey'
In this episode, we're pulling all the way back the curtain and sharing the FULL origin story of Cousin Ed's Corner — the story behind the story. So many of y'all have been hitting me up lately asking, "Cousin Ed, how did all of this get started?" and today I'm finally sitting down to tell it. From the very beginning. No shortcuts, no highlight reel — the real, uncut journey. This isn't just about a podcast; this is about the people, the prayers, the pivots, and the purpose that built this podcast into the family it is today. I'm taking y'all all the way back to 2007, back to Mr. Moody's Neighborhood — the show my big cousin Mr. Moody (Jeff) brought me into as a 50/50 partner when podcasting was still strictly audio and most folks couldn't even tell you what a podcast was. I'm sharing how my cousin Kev (Blu) first linked me up with Moody down in Georgia, how me and Moody clicked like two kids who grew up together, and how his genius shaped the way I approach this craft to this day. I'm talking about DJ Naturel, the original trio, the years I quietly sent out Thanksgiving and Easter blessings just to my friends and family, and the Queen Taralyn Michelle who listened one day and told me, "Your voice needs to be heard." That ONE conversation — that's the moment everything shifted. Then we discover how Motivational Monday, Wind Down Wednesday, and Thank God for Everything Friday being born three days in a row. I'm sharing what it feels like to be on the cusp of 600 episodes, almost 20,000 downloads, and discovering that most of y'all are watching Cousin Ed's Corner on your TVs — in your living rooms, bedrooms, in homes I've never stepped foot in. That's not something I take lightly. That's GOD. That's y'all. This episode is my THANK YOU letter to every single person who poured into this journey — and an invitation to every new FAMILY MEMBER that just pulled up a chair. Tap in Listen now: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop me a comment and tell me — who poured into YOUR journey? Who was YOUR Mr. Moody, YOUR Queen Taralyn? Wind Down Wednesday - Can You Sustain Your Full Plate
In Today's Episode, we're getting raw and real on Wind Down Wednesday — and it all started with my computer crashing from low memory right before the show. That blue screen became the message. Because how many of us are out here running just like that? We're ON, but can we sustain it? We've got a full plate, a full hard drive, and we keep adding more — work, family, caregiving, coaching, serving — all while running ourselves completely down. This Wind Down Wednesday, I'm asking YOU the hard question I had to ask myself: Can You Sustain YOUR Full Plate? This one is for the women who come home from work, cook, clean, take care of the family and get up tomorrow to do it all over again. This one is for the men who are grinding, providing, coaching, and protecting — with no time carved out for themselves. And this one is for everyone quietly performing one of the most draining hidden jobs that nobody hired them for: letting everybody think they're okay. If that hit you, you need to tap in. I'm not just preaching — I'm talking to myself too. I'm working on the meditation. I'm writing things down. I'm trying to sleep longer. I'm trying to get out and walk more. And I'm encouraging you to do the same — because there's a counselor, a coach, a therapist, or a doctor out there who can help carry what you've been carrying alone. Nothing you can do about it — it's time to slow down. 🙏🏾 Tap in now: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop a comment and let me know — are YOU carrying too much right now? What's on your plate that you need to put down? Let's talk about it. Share this episode with someone who's been running on empty and needs permission to slow down. Motivational Monday - Why Aging Is the Blessing You Didn't Know You Were Waiting For
In this episode, we're getting real about one of life's most bittersweet moments — watching your baby grow up and realizing that time doesn't stop for any man or any woman. This past weekend, my 17-year-old daughter went to her prom, and FAM, it shifted something in me. I had to come and share what God was revealing — that getting older isn't a death sentence, it's a rite of passage. This one is for every parent, every aunt, every uncle, every person who's ever caught themselves running from the grays or wishing they could freeze time. I'm sharing my own journey of finally letting my locs grow, embracing the wisdom God has given me, and learning to pour into others instead of trying to hold onto yesterday. Whether you're 40, 50, 60, or beyond — there's so much life and purpose ahead of you. Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - Stop Worrying About Tomorrow 'He Got You This Far and He Won't Stopping Now'
In Today's Episode, I'm laying it all on the table for the family. I'm taking you to a moment in my college years when I felt completely alone — no social media, no long distance calls, no one who really understood what I was going through — and I'm sharing how one scripture stopped my spiral and changed my perspective on life forever. Matthew 6:34 said "Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow has enough worries of its own" — and family, It took away all of my heartache and worry. This episode is for everybody who has been losing sleep over what hasn't happened yet. It's for the one who keeps pushing things to tomorrow, living in the fear of what's coming instead of the grace of what's already here. Look — He got you through last year. He got you through last month. He got you through the heartbreak, the job loss, the uncertainty, the moments when you didn't know which way to turn. And He's still right here. You're still standing. That's not luck — that's faith made visible. Tune in now: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner We're also talking about the power of a voice when you can't see the hand. The survival story. The prayer. The Corner Connection - Your Personal Forecast: What's Your Record-Setting All Time High?
In Today's Episode, we are talking about something the this hot weather literally had me waking up thinking about. Spring temperatures are hitting all-time highs out here, and it got me asking a real question: What Records Are YOU Setting In Your Own Life? This Corner Connection is all about getting intentional. Not just watching the world break records around you — in the temperature, in the economy, in everything moving so fast — but deciding right now that THIS is your season to set your OWN personal all-time highs. Motivational Monday - How Our Modern Lifestyle Is Killing US ALL
In Today's Episode, we are having the conversation that many of us have been avoiding — the one about our HEALTH. Not just what we're eating, but WHY we're eating it, WHO benefits from us staying sick, and what it's truly going to cost us if we keep living on auto-pilot. I came to you all raw and real this Motivational Monday, because a good friend sent me a video Modern Life Is A Disease that made me stop, sit down, and take inventory of my own life. And I want you to do the same. Think about this: our grandparents worked in fields and factories, grew their own food, raised their own livestock, and pickled their own vegetables — and they outlasted us without a single gym membership. Meanwhile, we've got fast food on every corner, processed food in every cabinet, and prescription pills for every symptom — and we are STILL declining. Diabetes rates. Cancer rates. Fatigue. Burnout. Sound familiar? I'm not just pointing fingers — I'm raising my own hand right with you. I shared my own journey going vegan after watching What the Health, the honest truth that vegan doesn't automatically mean healthy, and where I'm still doing the work myself. This isn't about perfection. It's about awareness. It's about opening our third eye and making intentional choices — one plate, one walk, one night of real sleep at a time. I'm even talking about starting Sunday morning virtual walks on Substack and I want YOU there with me. We do this as a family or we don't do it at all. Let's go. The Corner Connection - Why Keeping The Connection Open Is So Important
In Today's Episode, I'm bringing you something short, something sweet, and something I needed to say out loud — because it's been heavy on my heart all week. I went to a family wedding last weekend. Saw cousins I don't see nearly enough. And the moment we linked up, it felt like no time had passed. Like we never missed a beat. And that feeling — that warmth, that ease — it convicted me. Because if we can pick right back up like that, why aren't we staying more connected in between? My father has been showing me the standard all along, FAM. He calls people. Not texts — calls. When someone crosses his mind, he picks up the phone. He asks about their week. He makes it about THEM. No agenda. No favor. Just love. And I had to come to the Corner and be honest: I don't always do that. But I want to. And I'm challenging all of us to do better. This episode is for the cousin you haven't talked to since the last gathering. For the old friend whose number is still in your phone but you keep meaning to call. For the person you've had tension with that you could reach out to — not to fix everything, but just to say "you crossed my mind." Time is not promised, FAM. And as we get older, those moments together are going to get fewer. Don't let the memories be the only thing left. Make new ones. Now. Tap in, family. This one is quick but it's going to stay with you. And when you're done listening — go call somebody. 💛 Drop a comment and let me know who you're reaching out to this week. Wind Down Wednesday - Get Your Rest 'NOW'
On today's episode, I'm coming to you with something personal, something real, and something I think a lot of us need to hear. This one is about REST. Not the idea of it. Not the 10 min nap version of it. The real, honest, gritty conversation about what it actually takes to slow down when your mind won't stop running. I've been waking up at 3 AM for years — and it started back when I was deep into trading, hitting those early morning foreign market calls every single day. That habit stayed with me long after the trading ended. So coming out of Easter, I asked myself one question: what's ONE thing I need to change? And the answer led me to an experiment — putting my phone in another room at night. Just that. Simple. But not easy. And I want you to know how it's going. I'm also sharing a word that came out of my men's group this morning that stopped me in my tracks — "Take care of yourself, brothers and sisters, BEFORE you start taking care of others." Because you have to be here — present, whole, healthy — to show up for the people you love. That's not a suggestion. That's wisdom. That's faith. Tap in, FAM. Listen, share it with someone who needs it, and then come back and tell me — what do YOU do to wind down at night? I want to hear from you. Drop a comment, send a text, hit my line. Motivational Monday - It's Time To Reboot, Restore, Reset!
In Today's Episode — we're coming out of Easter weekend with a fresh word and a full Restoration message, family. 🙏🏾 I'm sharing something my pastor said in church that I couldn't keep to myself. He told the story of responding to his parents' house fire and seeing firefighters laid out on the lawn. He thought something was wrong — but what the fire chief told him next is something we ALL need to hear. It's about rest. It's about protocol. And it's about coming back with MORE power. 🔥 He connected that firefighter story straight to the resurrection of Jesus — because even the greatest comeback in history required a period of rest and restoration. And then I bring it home the only way I know how — through 25 years in IT. I call them The Three R's: Reboot, Restore, and Reset. Because just like your phone and your computer, your mind, body, and spirit sometimes need the same treatment. I even share my personal 60-second breathing habit that I use every single day to manage anxiety and get back to center. Be still. That's the word. 🔄 Family, this one is for everybody who's been fighting big and small fires everyday and hasn't stopped to rest. Everybody who's been pushing through and wondering why they're running low. This episode is your permission to lay down for a minute, restore yourself, and come back renewed. It's not weakness — it's wisdom. And it's already in you. Tap in now and bring somebody with you: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner 💛🖤 Drop me a comment and tell me — which R do you need right now? Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - The Last Supper, The Cross, and The Love That Changed Everything
In Today's Episode, — I get real with y'all and discuss my Good Friday Confusion. What is good about Good Friday? And I have to be honest: I couldn't sleep all night thinking about this. I was up wrestling with what this day truly means — not the holiday version, not the church announcement version — the real, human, sacrificial weight of it. I equate hospice to The Last Supper. Think about this, Jesus knew what was coming, gathered His people around the table, and chose to celebrate anyway. That image hits different — somebody celebrating their last days surrounded by the people they love, knowing their time is coming. That's the Last Supper. We walk through His final hours — the Garden of Gethsemane, the betrayal, the trial, the crown of thorns, the cross — and I want you to FEEL this, not just hear it. I talk about why I never understood the phrase "Good Friday" and What is good about Good Friday? until I've gotten older over the years. I missed the Wind Down Wednesday, April Fools' came and went, and I could've let it slide. But YOU are why I showed up anyway. This Corner Connection is all about the transition we are ALL in right now — stepping out of Quarter One and walking boldly into Quarter Two with the same energy that carries us through Easter weekend. We're talking about planting, watering, and growing. We're talking about knowing your worth WITHOUT needing someone else to confirm it. We're talking about looking in that mirror every morning and owning your greatness — not as a hype speech, but as a truth you've EARNED through your sacrifice and hard work. And if Q1 didn't go exactly how you planned? That's okay. The seeds are still in the ground. Now it's time to water them. I want to hear from YOU. What goals are you setting for Q2 — personally, professionally, and financially? Drop a comment, send a text to 762-333-2032, or find me @CousinEdsCorner on all platforms. Let's keep building together because that's what this family does. Tap in right here 👉 https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Share this with someone who needs to be reminded that they are already great. Let's water each other's seeds this season. 🌱🖤 It's not just a podcast — it's a family. 👑

Motivational Monday - Remembering Palm Sunday, Holy Week, and Easter Memories
In this episode, we're stepping into Holy Week together — and I'm is coming to you LIVE from the road, because The Corner doesn't stop for anything. This Motivational Monday is about two things running side by side: the memories of the Holy Week season and the mixed Easter memories that shaped so many of us. Remember those layaway trips to Kmart, Sears, and Conway making sure your Easter outfit was READY? The Easter suits? The family pictures? And those white lace gloves the women wore to church that made them look like angels? We remember — and we're bringing ALL of that to The Corner today. But this episode isn't just nostalgia — it's a reminder that behind every Easter basket, every egg hunt, and every new outfit, there is a sacrifice that made it all meaningful. I'm challenging ALL of us to watch The Passion of the Christ this week before Sunday, so we can walk into Easter with the full understanding of what our faith truly costs — and what it truly gives us. Rejoicing and grief can exist at the same time. That's what Holy Week teaches us. Tap in and let this one settle in your spirit: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop a comment and tell us some of YOUR favorite Easter memory — and share how your faith traditions shaped who you are today. Let's keep building this family and walking through this Holy Week TOGETHER. 💛🙏🏾 Connect with Cousin Ed: 762-333-2032 or @CousinEdsCorner on all platforms. Thank God for Everything (TGIF) — Are You Willing to Stand in Line To Reach Your Final Destination?
In Today's Episode, we're coming to you on a Friday morning with something that started simple and went somewhere real. I sat down at the mic, let God lead the way, and the next thing I knew — we were talking asking one of the hardest questions I've asked on this show: Are You Willing to Stand in Line To Reach Your Final Destination? Family, this one will make you stop and think. What am I willing to stand in line for? If you're new here, welcome to The Corner — this is a safe place where we keep it real, we build together, and we grow in faith and in life. And if you've been rocking with us, you already know what it is. I opened up and was transparent about my own shortcomings — how many days I've missed in my Bible devotional, why I keep pushing my prayer time to the end of the night when I'm already exhausted, and why I think we need to hold each other accountable as a community. Because the same hustle we give to the things of this world? God deserves that AND MORE. Tune in now: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Remember, share this episode with somebody in your circle who needs a Friday word, and drop me a comment — I want to hear what hit home for you. The Corner Connection - How Student-Athletes Are Built Different
In this episode, I taking you down my storage unit memory lane — and I mean that literally. I was going through some boxes and found my old basketball trophies. Trophies from High School. Trophies from playing for the Basketball forthe NYC Riverside Hawks. A championship trophy from the RUCKER. And just like that, I was taken all the way back. But this isn’t just a trip down memory lane. This episode is about what those years on the court REALLY gave me — and what they can give your kids too. We’re talking resilience. Dealing with losing. Fighting for your spot. Learning how to handle people who aren’t always rooting for you. Every lesson I needed for the workplace, for relationships, for life — I first learned between the lines on a basketball courts in New York City. If you were a student-athlete, this is your episode. If you’re a parent wondering whether to sign your kid up for that team — this is your sign. And if you’ve never played a sport in your life, the principles in this one still apply to YOU. Because at some point, all of us had to learn how to lose, get back up, and keep going. Tap in now: 👉 https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop me a comment and tell me — were you a student-athlete? How did it shape who you are today? I read every message and I want to hear your story. Motivational Monday - Prepare Your Soil For Your Season
In this episode, I'm reflecting on seasons — both the natural cycles we experience and the metaphorical seasons of our personal lives. Using the changing weather and my own gardening experiences as a backdrop, I dive deep into the importance of nurturing the right environment for growth — for your plants and for yourself. See, you can buy Miracle-Gro and get something that looks big and beautiful overnight. But you don't know what's in it. Real compost? That takes time. Scraps, leaves, patience — but when it's done, you KNOW what you put in there. That's what I want for your circle, your relationships, your season. Not the microwave version — the real thing, grown slow and grown right. This is the episode for anybody stepping into something new this spring — a new chapter, a new relationship, a new goal. Before you plant a single seed, you've got to check your soil. Tap in with me: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop me a comment — what are you planting this season? And share this with somebody in your garden who needs to hear it! 🌿 Connect with me: 762-333-2032 | @CousinEdsCorner on all platforms. Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - Get Right Before It's Too Late
Family, I almost didn't do this episode today. I woke up at 4am, had the show planned, and then I got a text that stopped me cold. One of my brothers — a man I've communicated with for years, a man who showed up for me and this family — went home to be with the Lord. And I couldn't just sit down and podcast like nothing happened. So I did what we do at Cousin Ed's Corner — I talked it through and meditated on it. On this week's Thank God for Everything, we're going deep into grief, into faith, into forgiveness, and into why NOW — today, not tomorrow — is the time to get right. Get right with God. Get right with yourself. Get right with the people in your life. Because life is short, and the gut punch comes when you least expect it. I also pray over each and every one of you in this episode — for the grieving hearts, the sick, the weary, the ones who just need to hear: you are never alone. God is the umbrella over you. He's stopping arrows you don't even see coming. Come sit with your cousin for a few minutes today. 🙏🏾 Tap in and share this with somebody who needs to hear it: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop me a comment — have you ever had a moment that made you stop and get right? The Corner Connection - Why Are You Not Using AI? It's Your New Tool in Your Toolbox of Life!!!
In this episode, I'm sitting down with 25 years of IT experience on my back and talking to you straight about Artificial Intelligence. Not the scary Hollywood version. Not the "robots taking over the world" version. The real version. The version where your Toolbox already has your AI tools built in. YOUR Kroger coupons are already using an AI algorithm to pick out best savings for groceries this week. Your Netflix subscription is already using AI algorithm to the best shows that you may like. You're already living in it — now it's time to USE it with intention. I'm sharing the tools I personally use — Gemini, Meta AI in WhatsApp, and Claude AI for lots of my business and personal needs. I broke down the history of how "big data" became the AI we know today. And I told y'all the story of the blacksmith on Flatbush Avenue who changed his whole business THREE times to keep up with the times — from horseshoes to the auto body shop. That's the energy we need. Because Blockbuster waited. And we know how that story ended. I also did a LIVE demo right there in the episode — no script, no setup. Just pulled up AI in WhatsApp and showed you exactly what it can do. This episode is for the family member who's been curious but hesitant. It's for the parent, the student, the professional, the entrepreneur. This episode will help you to see how you can use these tools in your Everyday life. 👉 Tap in right here: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Tune in now and then come back and tell me — how are YOU using AI? What fear did you have to push through? Text me, comment, share this with somebody who needs it. Let's move TOGETHER, family. Motivational Monday - Wake UP 'It's Your Season'
Family, my mom sent me a picture — and it CHANGED the whole message for today's show. A plant I put on her porch last year went completely dormant through the winter. She almost gave up on it. But when the season changed? It WOKE UP and CAME BACK. Stronger. Bigger. Same roots, NEW life. And that's what today's Motivational Monday is all about — IT'S YOUR SEASON. Some of us have gone quiet. Stepped back. Lost something. Felt cut down. People around you are asking where you went. But I'm here to tell you: YOU were never gone. You were underground, getting ROOTED. And your roots go deep — deeper than people know. Your grandparents, your great-grandparents, generations of strength and prayer in your soil. They'd have to kill you to stop what's in you. And even then? Your memory and your spirit will last forever. This isn't just a motivational episode — this is a WORD for somebody today. Whether you're in the first, second, or, third quarter the game of life is not over. Halftime is not the end. It's your refuel. Your regroup. And NOW? It's your season to come back even stronger. Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - 550 Episodes and Counting: How Faith, Consistency, and Angels Built Cousin Ed's Corner
In this episode, we're doing something we don't do nearly enough — stopping everything to say THANK YOU!!! Today we're celebrating 550 Episodes of showing up, speaking truth, and serving this community with everything we've got. YES 550 EPISODES!!! And every single one of them was built on faith, not followers. This isn't just a milestone episode — it's a message for YOU. We're talking about the angels God places in your life to push you toward your calling, the danger of sitting on a talent that was never just meant for you, and what five years of consistent, community-driven podcasting has taught me about gratitude, obedience, and trust. Real talk — if Taralyn Michelle hadn't said "The world needs to hear this," and if Mr. Moody hadn't opened that first door, none of this happens. So if somebody in your life is pushing you right now? Listen to them. God might be using them as a vessel. This episode is a celebration AND a challenge. We're thanking God — not just for Fridays, but for every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, every breath, every second. And we're asking you: what are YOU doing with the gift God put inside you? Tap in to The Corner, celebrate with us, and then go do something with what God gave you. 💛 👉🏾 Tap in now: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop me a comment — tell me which episode of Cousin Ed's Corner has stuck with you the most, or what God has been pushing you to do that you've been sitting on. The Corner Connection - BAM* 'You Got It In You TOO!!!'
On today's show, we talk about showing up even when you're tired, even when they cut you out, even when you are the last person off the bench. That's what BAM did last night. YES, Bam Adebayo dropped 83 points. 83 POINTS. The last person close to that was Kobe — 20 years ago. No major shoe deal, not always the loudest name in the room — just a man who kept working. And when it was his night, the whole world saw it. Fam, that's YOUR story too. You've been overlooked. Passed over. Working hard while others get the spotlight. But your breakthrough moment is being built right now, and when it comes — it's going to hit like Bam's 83 points. We also celebrated aunt Myrtle — Mr. Moody's mom — recovering ahead of schedule! And I got real about why this show exists — it was never about stats. It's about that ONE person who needed to hear something today. Tap in and let me know if that was you: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop a comment — have you ever had your own " Monumental Career High." moment? Or are you still in your grinding season? Let's talk about it. Share this episode with somebody who needs the push this week. Let's keep building this family together. 💪🏾 Connect with me at 762-333-2032 or @CousinEdsCorner on all platforms. Motivational Monday - The Memorable Moments
Family, I almost let this one slide — it was late, I was tired, it had been a long weekend — but I just couldn't go to bed without talking to y'all. Because this weekend? This weekend was one of the best I've had in a long, long time. I spent it with my daughter. My senior. My baby who is no longer really a baby. And watching her move through the world — independent, confident, full of light — I felt something shift in me. Pride, joy, and that bittersweet knowing that time does NOT slow down for any of us. So in this episode, I'm coming to you with one message straight from the heart: do something with your kids that will last forever. Individually. Intentionally. Now — before tomorrow comes and the moment is gone. This is a short one, but don't let the length fool you. There's a word in here for every parent, every guardian, every person who pours into a child. Tap in and then go create a memory that they'll carry with them forever. 💛 👉 https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner Drop a comment and tell me — what's an unforgettable memory you've made with your child? I want to hear YOUR story. And share this episode with a parent who needs the reminder today.
