Galatians Lesson 7 - Repost
Galatians 6:1 - 6:18 In this final lesson, we follow Paul as he instructs us to love and serve our fellow Christians by bearing one another’s burdens. Paul then concludes with a final condemnation of the Judaizers and a quick goodbye. One point of emphasis in this lesson is the importance for the church to engage in the ministry of restoring brothers who have fallen into sin. Galatians Lesson 6 - Repost
Galatians 5:1 - 5:26 In this lesson, Paul begins to move past his doctrinal arguments and moves into practical applications for how to apply the doctrinal truths covered in the past three lessons to the Christian life. Paul starts this chapter by telling the Galatians they are free from the burden of trying to prove themselves righteous by the Mosaic law, and he urges them to reject the lies of the Judaizers. He then gets to more general advice for Christian living showing the Galatians that they will not give in to the works of sin if they will walk by the Holy Spirit. Special attention is given to examining the different works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit. Some sources used: The Epistle to the Galatians by Ronald Y. K. Galatians Lesson 5 - Repost
Galatians 4:8 - 4:31 In this lesson, Paul wraps up his big theological arguments on why the Mosaic Law is not necessary for being justified in Christ. He does this by making a personal appeal to the Galatians, pointing out that they have changed in their warmth and kindness since subscribing to the Judaizers distortion of the Gospel, and he then concludes his arguments by using the Old Testament story of Hagar and Ishmael and Sarah and Isaac as an allegory for the relationship between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. Galatians Lesson 4 - Repost
Galatians 3:15 - 4:7 In this lesson, Paul continues building his case against the Judaizers. In this section, Paul explains the complicated relationship between the Mosaic law and the promise of salvation given to Abraham and fulfilled in Christ. He then concludes that as sons of God, we have an infinitely better status than the Old Testament believers who were slaves to the Mosaic Covenant. One point of emphasis is the importance of understanding the nature of the covenant made with Abraham. Another important concept explored is the reason the Mosaic law was created in the first place and the role it serves in bringing us to Christ. Galatians Lesson 3 - Repost
Galatians 2:15-3:14 In this lesson, Paul uses his conversation with Peter as a springboard to begin unpacking the theological truths of the Gospel exposing the errors of the Judaizer movement that insisted Christians must follow the Mosaic Law to be saved. In this passage, Paul argues that justification comes by faith, that the Galatian church had been blessed by God through faith rather than works of the law, and that the Old Testament scriptures taught that righteousness came by faith. A couple of points of emphasis include the importance of faith in a Christian’s life not just for justification but for all aspects of Christianity and the importance of understanding the Old Testament/Old Covenant as it relates to these issues. Crisis of Belief
Guest pastor Spencer Dunlap unpacks what a "Crisis of Belief" looks like in our lives. The crisis of belief is a turning point where you must decide what you believe about God. How you respond will determine whether you go on to be involved with God in something God-sized that only He can do, or whether you will miss what God has purposed for your life. This is not a one-time experience. Website - https://www.cometocreekside.org/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/cometocreekside Givelify - https://giv.li/80tarp
