KARMELO ANTHONY NEW ATTORNEYS FILE FOR NEW TRIAL

Karmelo Anthony convicted in just three hours for the shocking murder of 17-year-old standout student and football star Austin Metcalf at what was supposed to be an ordinary track meet in Frisco, Texas. It escalated into a horrific tragedy when a simple dispute over a team tent during a rain delay ended with Metcalf being stabbed in the chest. Now, hearings are set for August, just six weeks after Anthony was sentenced to prison. He has a new team of lawyers filing motions for a new trial.  Among the issues, attorney say the original trial was effectively closed to the public,  jury instructions were misleading regarding self-defense, Judge John Roach publicly defended the verdict to reporters, and prosecutors did not honor an off-the-record evidentiary agreement. The off-the-record deal prevented the teen from testifying in his own defense.   The attorneys have also asked for Judge John Roach to be removed from post-trial hearings because of bias.  A different Collin County judge will hold a hearing on Aug. 19 to on the motion to replace Judge Roach.  The next day, the defense team will argue their motion for a new trial.    Joining Nancy Grace Today: Randy Kessler – Defense attorney based out of Atlanta, Georgia. EVIL STEPMOM LETECIA STAUCH MURDER CONVICTION OVERTURNED, STATE FILES APPEAL

Leticia Stauch's murder conviction has been overturned by the Colorado Court of Appeals. Stauch was found guilty of murder in the death of her 11-year-old stepson, Gannon. Now, a three-judge panel agrees that a biased juror deliberated on the case. In the 54 page ruling, the panel noted the juror said his son-in-law worked as a deputy district attorney in the District Attorney's office which prosecuted the case. The juror should have been dismissed automatically.   This now means a retrial.   Stauch, step mother to Gannon Stauch, reported the 11-year-old boy as missing. In reality,Stauch was stabbed, beat, shot, and killed inside the family’s Fountain home. Letetcia Stauch then tried to cover up her crimes, by blaming numerous imaginary people and driving to Florida to dispose of the boy's body. Gannon Stauch was stuffed inside a suitcase, which was then tossed over a bridge in Pace, Florida.   Prosecutors said that Letecia Stauch was upset that she was left taking care of her stepchildren. Internet searched shows her distain while Gannon’s father was away at work with the US National Guard.   The Colorado Department of Law filed an appeal  June 29, with the Supreme Court. It's now a waiting game to find out if court will review the case. Jake Reiner Makes Brave First Appearance Since Murder of Parents, Rob and Michele

Jake Reiner has made his first public appearances since the murders of his parents, Rob and Michele. He attended the red carpet premiere of HBO's Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness.   The murders of Michele and Rob Reiner happened after the pair leave Conan O'Brien's party without their son after his off-putting behavior, like wearing a hoodie to a formal event and interrupting Bill Hader’s private conversation, leads to an embarrassing public row. Reiner, however, doesn’t make his own way to Brentwood. Instead, he pops up in Santa Monica at 4 a.m. Sunday morning, checking into The Pierside hotel. Desk staff don’t notice anything off about Reiner’s appearance, but the next morning, housekeepers find sheets covering the windows, and blood all over Reiner’s bedding and shower. The Reiners’ troubles with their middle child have been bubbling to a head for months. Every photo of the family from the September premiere of Rob’s latest film, "Spinal Tap: The End Continues," picture the 32-year-old sporting a deep scowl. By November, Nick Reiner moves back into his parents’ guest house, which he’s trashed on multiple occasions, leading up to a blowout fight the day after Thanksgiving that left Michele “at her wits’ end.”  Nick Reiner has pleaded not guilty.  Joining Nancy Grace: Philip Dubé - Court-Appointed Counsel, Los Angeles County Public Defenders: Criminal & Constitutional Law; Forensics & Mental Health Advocacy; X: PhilipCDube, IG: PhilipDube, YouTube: PhilipDube3922 Dr. Bethany Marshall -  Psychoanalyst, Author: "Deal Breaker," and featured in hit show "Paris in Love" on Peacock; Instagram & TikTok: drbethanymarshall, X: @DrBethanyLivee  Scott Eicher - A founding member of the FBI’s Cellular Analysis Survey Team (C.A.S.T); Historical Cellular Analysis Expert; Former FBI agent of 22 years; Former Police Officer and Homicide Detective with Norfolk Virginia Police Dept. having served 12 years; Currently with Precision Cellular Analysis handling Criminal, Defense and Civil Cases Rob Shuter - Host: Naughty But Nice Podcast, Author of Newly-released Novel “It Started With A Whisper;" Former Publicist of Sean Combs; IG: @naughtygossip Dr. Kendall Crowns - Chief Medical Examiner Tarrant County (Ft Worth), Host of Podcast, "Mayhem in the Morgue," and Lecturer: Burnett School of Medicine at TCU (Texas Christian University) Kayla Brantley - Reporter-At-Large for DailyMail.com and Host of DailyMail’s Podcast: 'The Trial of Diddy;' X: @_KaylaBrantley, Instagram: @KaylaBrantley Sydney Sumner - Investigative Reporter, ‘Crime Stories’  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

KILLER-MOM KOURI RICHINS: "Too Dangerous to be Free"

It's been four years since father of three, Eric Richins, died from a fentanyl overdose. We now know his ingestion of the drug was planned by his wife Kouri. A jury took just under 3 hours to convict Richins. During the trial, she addressed the court and her children,  saying she doesn't want anyone telling them their father was murdered, and for the three of them to look after each other.  Then it was the children's turn. Letters written to the court, read by therapists, laid out the depth of the children's lack of warmth for their mother.  They told their mother and the judge that if Kouri was released from jail, they would be afraid.  Now Kouri is planning her appeal, accusing the judge of bias. Video surveillance shows a person dressed in full police SWAT tactical gear walking through the halls of the church with an unusual gait while clutching a hammer.   Shortly before 5 AM, one of Bevers' students arrives, finding Bevers' body inside the church.  Bevers has puncture wounds to her head and chest. The student calls 911. In minutes, police and rescue arrive, and Missy Bevers is pronounced dead on the scene.  Creekside church has surveillance cameras inside and out of their property. A second note, sent to a local TV station, implied she had died and was “buried with nature.” A third, sent to TMZ in early June, claimed to have video and details of the kidnappers, but the FBI has also determined this was fabricated.  Sheriff Chris Nanos has publicly stated he does not believe the new video claim and warned it is another example of fake ransom note activity. Despite extensive search efforts, Nancy Guthrie’s whereabouts and condition remain unknown.     Joining  Nancy Grace today: Dr. John Delatorre  - Licensed psychologist and mediator, specializing in forensic psychology, psychological consultant to Project Absents: a non-profit organization that searches for missing persons, resolutionfcs.com, Twitter, IG, and TikTok: @drjohndelatorre   John Nantz  - SC -Former Supervisory Special Agent, FBI - Assigned to the Miami and Washington DC Field Offices for over 20 years.  Townhall columnistX, Truth Social, and Instagram: @theJohnnantz, LinkedIn and FB: @johnnantzWebsite: townhall.com/columnists/johnnantz  Morgan Wright  - Cybersecurity expert and Former Detective,   CEO and Founder - National Center for Open and Unsolved Cases (OpenUnsolved.org), Host - Crime: Reconstructed Substack and Podcast Dr. Kendall Crowns - Chief Medical Examiner Tarrant County (Ft Worth), Host:  "Mayhem in the Morgue", Lecturer: Burnett School of Medicine at TCU (Texas Christian University)  Tami Ballard  - DNA and Crime Scene Consultant, Crime Scene Investigation and Reconstruction, Fmr.
