    Jamin' w the kid 5-5-13

I was listening to him play and I heard it immediately. He had never done it before. It was the first time he played w/ vibrato. I asked him to come into the studio and play me a G major scale. It's very simple but only the second time he'd ever done it. Not quite as good as witnessing his first steps, but damn close. Track is about 50 sec.

    Telstar re-mix

1962 in America was a time when anything seemed possible. And with the July launch of Telstar, the first active communications satellite, the United States was riding the crest of yet another wave of electronic advancement. Telstar was built in NJ. at Bell Labs and it was the first satellite to send live TV/Fax & Phone calls across the Atlantic. It's something we take for granted, our ability to speak with anyone anywhere around the world at any time, but it all began with the first Telstar back in 1962. The idea of a man-made star soaring through space inspired this guy, Joe Meek to write a song about it. Telstar's been covered by a ton of old school bands like the Tornados, the Ventures and the Shadows, and like most of the pop music from that era its quite simple, but there's something about the way this instrumental captures the righteous joy of those times. All instruments played by yours truely. friend me on FB. STREETCAST: Would You Have Given Jeter the Ball Back?

Jeter hit his 3,000th, and the guy who caught the piece of history... gave it back! What would you have done if you caught Jeter's 3000th hit? WABC's Mary Elkordy talked to people on the street to see what they think. Via the NY Post: No regrets. The Derek Jeter fan who gave back the historic 3,000th-hit ball that his idol blasted into the left-field stands -- a memento worth about $250,000 -- yesterday said he'd do it again "100 times." Sitting yesterday in a seat along the third-base line five rows above the visitors' dugout, Christian Lopez basked in his newfound fame -- and the extra thumbs-up he got yesterday from an at-bat Jeter, who notched his astounding 3,000th hit with the ball Saturday.
