As we kick off the year 2026, it's laid in my heart that no matter what position we find ourselves in, whether we're in new chapters, returning to the same jobs, or schools, or are stuck in hopeless situations, we need to hold on by faith, to God's promises, because His Wor doesn't change and never loses its effectiveness.

The year has come to an end. It has been a long one. For some it has been a painful one with bits of joy, while for us it may have been mostly joyful, with some moments of discomfort and disappointment here and there. Deeply Rooted was joined by various guests, who shared pearls of wisdom on how to dwell firmly in our relationships with God, despite circumstances. We take a trip down memory lane on these conversations, and how God's character remains the same and His ability to shift things and perform miracles and new beginnings in the 11th hour. Have you ever felt unseen, alone and invisible? Whether you were in an unfair, unjust, painful or dark situation of any kind. Whether you are in a situation that you feel is not changing. Many people in the Bible felt like that, depressed, weary, hopeless and abandoned. But when God found them in their situations, they never remained the same again. This week's episode zooms in on God's "seeing" characteristic. He's descried in the Bible as "El Roi" God who sees us, in the midst of situations where we feel unseen.

This has been a conversation doing the rounds in the body of Christ and social media. This week's episode delves into what the Word says salvation is, how it's obtained and whether it can be lost. More than anything, this is based on the Word and the Holy Spirit's revelation to me.

One of the character traits of God, is His restoring nature. God is able to take what seems to be a dead or hopeless situation and restore it to its original state, or even better. We see throughout scripture, examples of people who lost many things, and even themselves, but were restored by God. This week's episode zooms in on God's ability to restore, and how He takes the broken pieces of our lives, transforming them into beauty.

Excelling in this journey of faith with Christ, after having received Him as Lord and Saviour, is a crucial to discovering our purposes, and ensuring we walk in victory in all seasons. Multifaceted businesswoman, and my beloved spiritual mother and mentor, joins me to unpack pearls of wisdom, on how to leverage our identity in Christ, so as to be effective in God's kingdom, society and in our personal lives.

All of us have come across or experienced fear at some point in our lives. Fear comes in all shapes, forms and sizes. It’s a normal feeling that comes in different situations. However, it shouldn’t dominate or consume us. This week’s episode zooms in on the different kinds of fear and what God’s perspective is on this, through His Word.

As we wrap up the final months of the year, one of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that, no matter what season we’re in, it is imperative to abide in God. Among many other benefits of being consistently anchored in your relationship with God, one that stands out is the safety and security it comes with. This week’s episode zooms in on the importance of abiding in God in all seasons.

The term upside Kingdom is usually used to describe the nature of God’s kingdom, and how different it is from how society and the world operates. When we look closely at the standards of God, we see how oceans apart they are from what the world deems normal. Through the help of the Holy Spirit, we are able to be live according to these, be set apart, represent Christ and have an impact in our societies and the world.

Some of us are already feeling it. The year is nearing the end. And a lot of us are exhausted. Some may be disappointed at how the year went, some feeling like the daily routine is a drag. This week’s episode emphasises the importance of holding on to God so that we get the strength to keep going until the year ends. Trusting that He can still manifest as a good God.

If you grew up in church setting you are no stranger to the terms “holiness” and “purity”. The terms are sometimes used in very broad contexts and can be tricky to understand in simple terms. Today’s episode focuses on the necessity of living a life of holiness and purity as believers, and what exactly that means and how it looks like.

Our thoughts and what we allow to fill our minds with, is extremely important. The Bible even says we should take thoughts captive and bring them obedient to Christ. Dark and heavy times may come in our lives, however it’s essential to remember that because we’re in Christ, it shall be well with us. That’s a promise God gives to all the righteous. Rest assured - if you gave your life to Christ, and are pursuing a relationship with Him, come hell or high water, it shall be well with you!

Change is a part of our lives we cannot run away from. It can be scary, painful, dreadful, on the flip side, it can also be exciting and hopeful. No matter the size or nature of the changing season you may be experiencing, this week’s episode encourages us to enter into the new with God, because He specialises in making all things new and showing Himself in ways we would’ve never experienced, had we remained in one season.

When things don’t go the way we hoped, disappointment kicks in, often evoking different feelings from us, including annoyance and anger towards life and even God. Although this is not wrong and in fact, the Bible does say “be angry but not sin”, it’s essential to not make this state a place of residence. This week’s episode focuses on how to stay in intimacy with God despite times of disappointment

All of us have a connection to music. When we give our lives to Christ, that music begins to minister to us in different ways. Multi award winning gospel music veteran and pioneer, Bishop Benjamin Dube joined us in explaining the link between music, growing in our faith through Word of God, and ultimately communicating to nations the heart and mind of God.

Have you ever wondered why old songs and hymns hit the way they do? Yes the composition was really good and heartfelt, and the songs remind us of the gospel that raised us, but there’s a deeper reason why they are so impactful to us. They are a reminder that the same God who was faithful generations before us, to our great grandparents, our grandparents, our parents and our older siblings, is the same God we call on and worship today. Ever been through a dry season, feeling empty, alone, abandoned, burnt out, with a void you can’t explain? We all have. This week’s episode shows that through a relationship with God in Christ, and laying it all before Him in prayer, we find living water from a Source that never runs dry. Our Heavenly Father fills voids and brings refreshment, especially in dry seasons.

This week’s episode shines the light on the truth of the Word and historical studies, highlighting the journey of Africans receiving the message of Christ. This dates back to the 1st century, around 35-40AD, where an Ethiopian was eager to learn about Christ, upon receiving Him as saviour, then brought the message home. Various historical records also attest that the message of Christ had been impactful in our African continent long before European influence.Beyond being a history lesson, this week’s episode aims to show how intentional and loving our Heavenly Father was in ensuring that we too, have an opportunity to partake in the abundant and eternal life He afforded us through the work of the Cross. As young people increasingly return to God, seeking His face, and prioritising their relationship with Him, our Heavenly Father wants to use each of them to fulfil His mandate, not only in the church but globally. In every space He places young people, at schools, workplaces, families etc, He wants to use us in our authentic personalities, abilities and experiences to make Him known, and to be part of what He wants to fulfil in every season, all unto His glory. When Jesus was about to ascend to heaven, He gave us a mandate - to go preach the gospel all over the world. This is not just for pastors, evangelists and missionaries, but we’ve all been trusted to fulfill this. The question is how? God wants us to take advantage of our daily encounters, and trust Him to use our authentic selves to share the Hope of who Jesus is and what He’s done in our lives. All we should pray for is boldness, desires and opportunities to make him known.

Last weekend we celebrated the work of the cross during Passover. This encompasses the suffering, death as well as resurrection of Jesus Christ. In this week’s episode we zoom in on the resurrection element of Jesus’s work of the cross. Our background, our achievements, our choices, thus placing labels of value on us. But through the lens of God’s Word, our value lies not in what we have, where we come from, and what we’ve done or not done. It lies in who we are in Christ. The Work of the cross gave us a new identity, therefore our value is intact no matter the circumstances we find ourselves in, in life. This week’s episode aims to encourage us to stand on God’s definition of us and our value, so as to equip us in time of doubt and discouragement.

As much as it gives peace, and assurance, faith is not an easy characteristic to possess.
