    Setting up an Intentional Bio

    Release Date: 3/23/2023

    Duration: 11 Mins

Description: March 23- Setting Up an Intentional Bio Your social media bio is one of the first things your leads will see when they check you out. So it’s important to be intentional on what we put in there! Here are some tips on how to create a bio as a network marketer: (Before we dive in, make sure you know the policies and restrictions of the company that you’re partnered with) Remember these two rules: Take out your company’s facebook page from your “About me” section. Because If someone looks at your profile and you direct them to your company’s page, you’ve automatically lost that lead. Again, you don’t work for that company. You’re an independent contractor that is partnered with them Remove any external shopping links. You want to capture any leads, so the links that are in there should direct to your profile or personal website that is 100% yours. Facebook On Facebook, you will have several lines of text in your bio. So don’t waste it by indicating in any way that you are a “rep.” You are trying to avoid making an impression to your leads that they’re only going to be sold to. Include your personal pillars. This is like your dating profile where people with similar interests can connect with you. (See my profile for an example of this https://www.facebook.com/abbyngarrison/ ) You can add an optional power statement. For me, it’s something like, “I help women in network marketing show up authentically themselves.” You’re not trying to sell in your statement, but you make people understand what you do instead. You can change up your bios and add links to your current challenges, free training, events, etc. You can change your bio quarterly, as long as it’s aligned with you at the present. Instagram On Instagram, There is one space for one link- and as a network marketer, that is dedicated only to your Facebook group or personal website. You bio should explain why your leads should stick around— what do they expect from your feed or what are you sharing? Is it a makeup tutorial? How to prepare meals as a busy mom? Whatever you share on your feed should show up in your bio Your highlight provides your audience an opportunity to see quickly what kind of content you share. So your highlights should include stuff that your bio and feed describes. Your highlights let people know what to expect Adding a few emojis is recommended, as long as it represents your authentic self. Don’t be afraid to play with it—but keep it simple! If you need help creating your bio (and for other platforms,) reach out to me! If you have any questions, just shoot me a message! Funnel to the Next Steps

    Release Date: 2/10/2023

    Duration: 16 Mins

Description: Funnel to the next steps   Access the six-video series about Facebook growth on our DSDB Community   Be sure to hop on to the previous episodes where we figure out our personal pillars, then where we design our businesses on Facebook. Because now we’re going to talk about how are people going to get there!   Your Facebook Group Your Facebook group is your community where you ultimately build your brand, connections, and business. This is where your audience can ask questions, converse with fellow members, find products, search topics, see your posts, and so much more. This is YOUR community. So as a direct seller, your Facebook group is your end goal. Thus make sure to always get your audience to your Facebook group!   Brand consistency Before we proceed, let’s take note of brand consistency. It helps your audience find, resonate, and recognize your brand. This means having the same account name/handle, brand look, and vibes all across your social media platform so people can find and recognize you quickly.    So how do you direct your audience on Instagram, Youtube, podcast, and other social media to your Facebook group?   Funnels Display photos > Utilize your account profile picture and cover photo to introduce your brand and direct people to your Facebook group. On the description of your photos, be sure to include the link to your group so interested people would immediately know where the next step is in connecting with you. > Do NOT put your products or company name on your display photos because people would think that your main purpose is to sell them stuff. Again, you are more than just your company and products. You want people to connect with YOU and your brand. > Updating your pictures once a month is recommended. > If you want additional resources on how to create your profile and cover photos for business, go to my friend’s Kate’s Business Group!   Bio > No matter what social media platform you use, you will have a bio. In here, you write who you are and your touch points to make connections with (aka your personal pillars.)  > With that being said, you should not have your shopping or company links on your personal bio. Again, you don’t want your audience to feel like they are being sold to. We want genuine connections. > You can add links to your other social media accounts or website, but make sure that your Facebook group is your priority and is on the top of the list. > You can add emojis or different fonts, but remember you would want your business space to come across as professional and clean. (Unless being disorganized and abrasive is your branding) > You can update your bio quarterly or as often as needed   Content descriptions > Whatever you post online, as long as it’s appropriate, be sure to add the link to your Facebook group in the description. Better if you can include your Facebook group in the video/photo content itself!   Your Facebook group is the space for you to hang out with your community, create relationships, and sell products. So take out the confusion and make it easy for your audience to know where to further connect with you. Now go ahead and update your funnels!   Join the Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/directsalesdonebetter    Kate’s Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/bossbishlounge    Kate’s Website: https://www.classybishkate.com/  Use code ABBYGARRISON for a discount on individual graphics packs or the Boss level of subscription services.

Designing your Coffee Shop or Tea House

    Release Date: 1/12/2023

    Duration: 14 Mins

Description: How to build your Facebook group as a Direct Seller Now that you have figured out your personal pillars and community value from the last blog, we will now talk about how you can build your brand and grow your community! Your brand is your space for connection. You know the feeling when you talk with another person about things that both of you are interested in? There’s an instant connection. And that’s how you want your Facebook group to feel like– a place where your members would feel calm and comfortable to be themselves. And as an entrepreneur, you have to create that environment in your group in a way that’s authentic to you. Think of it as your own coffee shop that you are designing. How do you want it to look and feel like? What feels comfortable and inviting for you? What’s the vibe?  (Check out how to increase your online engagement.) Write it all down, think of it as yours, and then apply it to your Facebook group. It is the same with your business. You get to choose the company you are partnered with, what your business offers, and what your community values are. Naming your group Here are a few tips for naming your group to help you get started! Do not include your company name Don’t name it as “VIP” Include your name Reference your personal pillars or community value Need help? If you need more tips on how to grow your Facebook group, go check out the resources that we have for you in the DSDB community. You could also sign up for the DSDB VIP Bootcamp! It’s a five week program where we discuss in detail and in more depth about how you can build your brand and your business’ community— specifically for you! A cup of tea Every journey and business is different, so it’s okay to embrace what makes yours different. Part of my vision to “explore” this year is to not just look at the destination, but also look at the small steps along the way. Look at what’s around you in your journey. Notice how kids look at the world with wonder because we could learn from children’s excitement and curiosity when they try to figure life out. They love to see ‘it,’ and they love to share ‘it’ with others. I want you to do that for your life and business. So what can you be excited about at this moment? Understanding your Personal Pillars and Community Value

    Release Date: 1/9/2023

    Duration: 13 Mins

Description: We are now stepping into 2023 and that means new stuff coming in! Go check out our resources on achieving our dreams this year in the DBSB group. This includes how you can map out your journey. And before we dive in, I want you to write, “I can be excited about my own journey. It is designed by me, for me. And it is beautiful and important just the way it is.” No matter what your ventures are, remember that it is yours and you own it.   My big word this year is “Explore.” So my themes this year would revolve around this idea.   Your online group Your online group, specifically on Facebook, is your community and your avenue to connect with your audience, customers, prospects, and more.   And before we discuss how you can grow your group, we have to know first why people are jumping in there and why it is important for us direct sellers.   Your personal pillars Your personal pillars are the 3-5 things that describe who you are, not what you do. And this does not include your company. Remember that as a direct seller, you are an independent contractor: they don’t own you and you don’t work for them. Your business is yours, you are merely partnered with the company.   Think of your personal pillar as your dating profile. It is your avenue to connect with people who have the same interests as you. So it has to be authentic to you. It could be what lights you up. Whether that’s yoga, paper crafting, Christianity, mountains, lipstick, or anything that describes your interests. You can make it more niche down. Like a first time makeup enthusiast. A mickey mouse collector. A crunchy mom.    Because someone else will look at your pillars and say, “oh, me too. I understand her.” And that’s how your group—through your pillars— becomes a space for connection.   This is how you create a connection for you. Not based on your company or what you sell. Community Value Your Facebook group is your community. If we’re going to remove your products from your group, why are people in your group? What are the conversations going on in that space?   So what do you want those answers to be? What do you want them to be there for?   Maybe your community value is helping busy moms with young kids create memories around meal time, and provide better meal planning solutions. Or maybe your company is colorstreet. So your products are nails, skincare, haircare, lipsticks. Your community value can be about helping women age 20-40 feel good in their skin and reminding them to have time for themselves.   Your product may contribute to your community value. But your community value can stand alone without your products. Your community values are why people join, stay, and invite others in your group. And if you build your relationships because they connect with you on your personal pillar and community value, conversations around your product would be easier. And they wouldn’t feel like products are being shoved down their throats. People know you, trust you, and they see why you are recommending this product.   So what are your personal pillars and community values? Need more tips? We just opened our DSDB VIP Bootcamp! You can register here: https://direct-sales-done-better.mykajabi.com/offers/tz6iHbGG/checkout    In the Direct Sales Done Better bootcamp, we’re going to discuss more about how you can cultivate and grow your group in a way that’s authentic to you!   And remember, I can give you ideas, tips, or outline, but ultimately, how you design your business is for you to decide.   Join the Facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/directsalesdonebetter

    Step into...

    Release Date: 12/9/2022

    Duration: 16 Mins

Description: When we look at the journey in our business, a lot of times we look at the things that we want to do. But we often overlook the individual steps we need to take to reach our goals whatever they may be. Meanwhile, we tend to look at what other people are doing in their journey, This often leads to unhealthy comparisons because you would only be seeing their successes, and not the work other people have been doing. Be aware that’s there’s a lot going on in the back end of someone’s achievements that you see online. Acknowledge and appreciate that! So let’s focus on your own journey. When it comes to the steps you’re taking towards your goals, do they help you grow and achieve your highest potential? And today we’re listing down important steps to include in your journey so you can step into your best self this new year!   Register for the free workshop mentioned here: https://direct-sales-done-better.mykajabi.com/replanting-for-2023

When to Say Hello with guest, Kimberly Charvet

    Release Date: 11/15/2022

    Duration: 33 Mins

Description: In network marketing, our business is based on building relationships with people. So initiating and maintaining conversations are part of our routines. And one of the challenges that we face as direct sellers is explaining what we do in a small interaction. We have a different business model so it can be challenging to convey why we do what we do. The concept that we sell other people’s products while still owning our business and building our brand can be difficult to understand for others. That’s why we say “I am ‘partnered’ with this company” and not “I work for this company.” And today we are going to discuss networking and joining groups. Keep reading! Controlling what we can in Team Growth with guest, Wendy Taggart

    Release Date: 11/1/2022

    Duration: 43 Mins

Description: As you grow and develop who you are, your passions and interest will change too. Thus your brand will change too. And that’s okay. You can make adjustments in your business as long as these changes are serving you and are true to you. You are the business owner so you are the one in control of your business. So if something doesn’t bring you joy or isn’t serving your end goal anymore, you can close that chapter. The same thing happens with team growth.   What we can control Like what we’ve discussed in the previous episodes, we can only control our content and the conversations we have. In team growth, we can’t control who shows up or collaborate consistently, but we can control what we share with them and how we do it. We can’t control who responds to us or not, but we can control our Facebook lives, how many stories we post, how often we ask, etc. (See also how to increase online engagement.)   So every time you feel stuck in your business, it’s the time to step back and ask, “am I controlling what I can?” Remember that you don’t have to do everything all the time but you can manage your time wisely!   How to encourage team growth When your brand or community is going through some changes, you have to focus on what you can control and let your girls join you in your journey. Here are a few tips on how you can get your members to hop on board: Have a monthly list of 50 (highlighted) members and 20 celebrations. Make your members feel that you are showing up for them as their friends more than as business partners and that you value their successes. The goal of these lists is not only to motivate them to reach their business goals but to also encourage participation in the group. Always ask your girls how they’re doing and how you can help. What can you do together? Your members see your consistency (ex: a monthly check-in.) And this consistency helps your members incorporate your group activities into their business routines. Always highlight your pillars and community value. When you have fully developed your ‘why’ behind your brand, more people would resonate with it. They would see that your group is more than just a selling team.  Open up some of your life’s shenanigans to your group so they can understand the changes and they can get updates from you. Don’t be afraid to share knowledge and space with people who have the same goals and interests as you. This way, you can expand your reach and collaborate with other leaders. You can then do team training together or have someone back you up when you need it! When you build your business that’s not in a scarcity mindset, it’s easy to bring other people in. For resources that you can share with your group and learn more about how you can do pieces of training, join the DBSB community!

The Importance of Happy Dances with guest, Shea Smith

    Release Date: 5/27/2022

    Duration: 45 Mins

Description: Get your journal here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B18BT43N  The focus of this month is rest and restore and last week we have talked about how it is unsustainable to always be hustling, and how we can cultivate rest using some practical and easy ways. So now we’re going to talk about another mode of rest and how we can incorporate it into our lives!   Celebrate! One of the most underrated forms of rest is celebration. Not only does it motivate (thus, restore) you, but it also gives you the needed assurance when you feel you’re not doing enough or you feel guilty for taking a break. Practicing celebrations is also a way to grow your business. So be consistent with celebrating your wins!   Practicing celebrations Celebrating wins is like building a staircase. Look at the small wins you have on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, and start noticing them. Here are some practical steps you can do to cultivate this habit: Remind yourself of your wins. You could do this by printing out the compliments/accolades/wins you receive and put them somewhere visible to you. Or you could have a ‘win calendar’ where you can mark when there’s something that progressed in your business or personal life. Now this may seem tedious, but it’s worth it. Because months would pass and you would feel that nothing is improving, but when you look at your win calendar, you would see the progress that you are making. Celebrate the wins of others. When you are a network marketer, the successes of each of your team member is your success too. Because that means you’re making an impact. But if you struggle with negative comparison, try to see the wins of others as an inspiration. If they can do it, then you can too! It’s also important to build up that circle that would celebrate with you and would encourage you to keep going. When you are authentic and true to yourself, the right people will come to you. And you can celebrate this too. Join our community Train your brain to celebrate the hard things that you do and that you’re not doing them because you “should.” Celebrate the small wins. Celebrating doesn’t have to be a huge moment. It can be as small as appreciating your environments, making your bed in the morning, bonding with your family with no phones, creating new friends, etc. As long as you… Figure out your own version of success. In this way, you will be able to appreciate your wins more and actually feel fulfilled in them. What does success looks like to you?   If it feels like there's nothing to celebrate about...  and nothing seems to be going in your favor, take a pause and point out what is going well now. What is something you can control now? Is it sending a few messages to your group members? Is it doing a few household chores? You can take on those small tasks during rock bottom times and celebrate that. But better if you just take a rest!   So as you finish this blog, I want you to make a list. List 15 things in this moment that you are celebrating for yourself. Get specific. And then list another 15 things that you want to celebrate by the end of this month. Set an intention and follow through. Write down your wins and share it with me!   Connect with Shea Shea is a mother of two, and has been in the business of network marketing for almost 8 years now. Cultivating Rest in the Midst of Hustle Culture

    Release Date: 5/19/2022

    Duration: 11 Mins

Description: If we’re not careful, it’s easy to get caught up to the hustle and bustle of everything that we “have” to do. Especially when you are a network marketer, you are always running and chasing goals! And if you’ve been following me, you would know that I hate the hustle culture. Marathon athletes don’t run everyday— they also take days for rest, yoga, and other stuff. Yet they’re still good at what they do. And we need to treat our businesses the same way. I want us to look back into our lives and see that we’re able to take care of ourselves. When we rest, we will be able to do things better.  In addition, as women, we sometimes lose our identity when we step into motherhood. So one of the things I regularly ask my clients is, “What are you doing for you?” “What are the things you enjoy that isn’t tied to your business or title as a mom?” Answer that so you can start to figure out what “rest” looks like for you.   Practical steps to achieve rest Naps definitely are a part of rest. But for me, it’s more than that. Rest is something that gives you comfort, sigh, security, stillness. That sense of “everything’s okay.” And that is what we need to cultivate. Check out the journal for network marketers to walk you through your rests.   The grounding practice While drinking your water or juggling a few things, take a pause and ask yourself these: Where am I? What’s around me? How do I feel? What emotions am I feeling? What do I physically feel around me? What are my feet touching? Is it hot or cold? Is it soft or squishy? Is there a sun on my face? What am I thankful for in this moment? What do I need to do in this moment? Is it still something I need to do? Then drink your water, and move on. When you are able to cultivate a pause in that moment, you can wash away the overwhelm. Take a pause and figure out, what’s important for you in this moment? And it’s okay if you have to skip a few stuff like going on social media or meeting some friends. You don’t have to always be in the run! So now that we have defined rest as to be intentionally be present, we will talk about restore in the next episodes! Join our community

For example, after they have taken the challenge, you could say, “Hey! you could now get access to this resource in my group for free!” Have conversations with people that let them know what to expect. If you are going live, you could go to your previous posts and comment back to your members, “Hey I’m going live” so they could receive the notifications Remember to stay authentic even if you’re just starting out. In this way, you attract and keep the right people who went there for YOU (check out how to build a personal brand.) You’ll be able to keep them years down the line even if you switch companies or make several changes in your group. Understand that achieving growth doesn’t mean everything should be perfect. It’s okay if your daughter smack you with a product during your live. A lot of moms in this business go through that. And people connect better to an authentic person who they can relate to. When hosting a party or have something planned for your members, have simple graphics that talk about who it’s for, why they want to join, where to get more information. And you can post that in your group as an event to create some excitement! Getting back into a Content Schedule with Coaching Guest, Tania Griffin

    Release Date: 3/31/2022

    Duration: 16 Mins

Description: In today’s coffee chat call with Tania, we will be discussing about how to make planning our content easier. If you have other questions or want a consultation call with me, go ahead and reach out! Keeping up with content It’s common for us to slack, lose motivation, and get stuck in creating content for our businesses. Sometimes it feels like you're running out of creative juices or you're not sure what’s working anymore. Especially when you notice that you lack engagement and sales. Now let’s get into the basics. We want sales but we don’t want our content to look so sales-y, right? So how do we do this right? The best way to plan is to have an outline and a guide. One of the best things you can do to boost engagement in your group is to have ate least three lives a week: one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening on different days. In that way you’re catching different people.   And here’s the guides in planning for those lives: One is a coffee chat talking about your day/week. No selling agenda, it’s just a connection piece.   Then one is a product live where you pick one product and say something educational surrounding it. Tip: Mention reasons for buying the product, highlight the functionality, and attach scenarios/stories where your audience could relate to.  In your lives, provide solutions to every one's problems.   Then lastly, there should be one live about your passion and purpose. Highlight your community value! It’s the kind of discussion where you are educating, inspiring, empowering. It’s a good conversation starter, because you can build up engagement without sounding too “hey come buy my stuff.” You could also have posts that ask your audience’s preferences. For example, when your company releases new outfit patterns, you could have stories/posts that ask your audience, this or that? Yay or nay? and so on.  See also: The Hot Air Balloon Method in goal setting Create the plan So for the month, plan ahead on what your posts, lives, and theme will be. As long as you have those core pieces in mind (coffee chat, product, community value) it will be easier for you to plan. And having new content prepared is a way to release excitement into your group! Join our community  Become a podcast member! https://glow.fm/directsalesdonebetter/

    Increasing Social Media Engagement

    Release Date: 3/24/2022

    Duration: 28 Mins

Description: We have another coaching session that I would like to share with you! Brianne and I discussed about increasing engagement in our direct sales businesses. Have you been struggling with low engagement, unresponsive hosts, no interactions, in your group? It’s frustrating, I know. But this doesn’t have to be your fate forever. There’s a few things you could do to improve your group. Join our community Breathing more life into your business Making people interact with your posts is difficult when everyone’s busy, and when there are people who just want to go straight into shopping. So how do you get them on board to YOUR brand and community? Here are a few tips:   Show up to your business as YOU. People follow your page for you, so integrate your personal and business profile as much as you can. Remember that people connect easily to a person and not a product. (See also: how to show up authentically on social media.) Look at your group as your coffee shop. That’s your space where you get to sit down and get to know the people in your community. Build relationships by asking these questions:  Why do people get into your coffee shop?  Why are they staying in your coffee shop?  Why are they telling their friends to come to your coffee shop?  And why are they coming back? Asking those questions is a good way to find out if you are showing up, or if they know you. Are you sharing your personal pillars and community value? Less product posts, and more interact-with-me posts. Remember, people could see products anywhere. There must be a distinct reason why they are going to your group. What makes your coffee shop different? The answer is simple: YOU. What are you passionate about? Personal pillars? Community value? How can people relate and connect with you? If you’re hosting parties, do a message-me-posts. For example, if you have giveaways, tell them to message you a secret word to get a chance to have those giveaways. Then avoid being pushy when you invite them to your products. Say something like, “hey, you must be enjoying the party, thank you for interacting. have you had the chance to hop on to the website yet? If you have questions, let me know.” Avoid frequently posting your links (being spammy.) Instead, put the links in one or few “announcement” posts and direct your members to those posts (i.e., by tagging them in the comments.)  Be aware of your group’s availability. If majority of your group have different time zones than yours, find their peak online times and utilize the schedule feature of social media. When you’re going live, find a schedule when you and majority of your members could meet.   For more tips on engagement such as the 555 method, hop on to the training! Brianne Dent was an amazing guest! Here's a bit more about her: "I am a wife, a boy mom, a former marine biologist and I just started back to school to become a teacher! The Tea about Planning Content

    Release Date: 3/17/2022

    Duration: 16 Mins

Description: I'm excited to share with you this fun coffee chat call with Tammy. A coffee chat call with me is when I help you with one specific problem, or stuff you want to dig deep in. And today we are highlighting how to create content and all about teas! Join our community What’s the tea? When you are creating content or challenges for your community, you don’t always have to make it about ‘buying your product.’ That’s actually a counterintuitive way to build your community. Instead, educate and engage your audience with topics that revolve around the product. There’s a ton of ways to do so!   For example, you sell tea. Your content could have something like, “The types of teas” “What you should look for in a tea when buying from your local store” “What tea is best for your health concerns” “Good tea alternatives for you” “The top 10 best tea shops in town”   Don’t be afraid to recommend other businesses related to your products too. Brand yourself as the go-to person of people when it comes to tea. Your business growth will surely follow!   You could create challenges for your audience too: “The next time you buy from the store, I want you to find the best tea brand for you and post it here.”   In that way, you did not only engage your audience, but you also gather information about their preference.   Tea party Depending on your pillar, you can help your audiences make better choices by informing them about teas, and by making them check the content of their drinks.  And towards the end of that, you could invite them to your ‘tea’ parties. Isn’t it amazing that you did not tell them to come buy your stuff, but you instead gave them reasons 'why.' (Check out: selling with integrity) So go ahead and plan your next content to create better connections! Remember that as a business owner, you get to own your business, so you get to choose how you build your community!   If you need advice on how you can grow your business, chat with me!   Connect with Tammy here:  https://www.facebook.com/tammy.lambertnolette https://www.facebook.com/groups/tammystrendyteas/

    Selling with Integrity

    Release Date: 3/10/2022

    Duration: 41 Mins

Description: The importance of selling with integrity The relationship piece is vitally important to growing and sustaining a business. And you build more meaningful relationships when you sell with integrity because more people will support you when they know they could trust you.  Besides, selling with integrity will make your customers come back to you again and again and again. The lifetime value of your customers will skyrocket and your network will grow!   Ok now how do you sell with integrity? Here are a few ways you could practice integrity in managing your business. Hop on to the episode for more tips, real-life examples, and more!   You sell the right product to the right customer. Understand that not every customer, is your customer. You may recommend a product that fit the customer’s budget, but do they actually need it? In network marketing, you want to make sure you understand the personal need of your customer. So the instead of forcing your product to a customer you know isn’t a fit, tell them instead, “I’m not the right person for this, but I have a network that I know is the right fit.” Not only did you get the trust of the person, but you also strengthen your referral!   You own and know your business well. You have to know who needs your products and how will it help those people. In addition, build your business around yourself, not what you sell. This is so you could truly apply your core values to your business. Now the customer’s trust is on you, not the company. And when you switch companies, you don’t lose your customers. *wink*   You don’t blow up your budget to a newly-released product from your company that you’re not sure if you yourself are going to use. But if you want to try it out first, you can approach your team member or network who have bought those products.   You get out of the scarcity mindset. Don’t worry that you will ran out of customers if you recommend them to another. There’s more than enough customers in the world and it’s much more valuable if you find the right ones for you.   You don’t try to chase sales markers. As a business coach, I don’t recommend this. Because first, you will easily lose your integrity when you try to chase customers for a quota. Again, are they the right fit to your product?  Second, if you don’t reach that selling milestone, you might get discouraged. Remember that when you don’t hit those markers, it doesn’t mean that you’re not setting yourself up for success!     Lastly, you show up differently. Selling with integrity means not being afraid to stand out from other reps of the same product. What do you want your business to look like? What do you want your customers to feel about you? What can you teach your community that you are passionate about?   Integrity in your business is one of the keys to success. Because the impact of showing up authentically and selling with integrity goes beyond the people in your pond. It’s far reaching!   If you want to get more sources and trainings to build your business, reach out to me! When the Let Down Happens

    Release Date: 12/30/2021

    Duration: 20 Mins

Description: It’s officially the last episode for 2021 and it’s been an exciting year since we have launched the podcast in October!  The last week of the year also means that many of us are preparing our goals for the next year. Pieces of advice regarding setting goals are popping out, but today we are going to talk about assessing the goals we have set for this year. Now don’t get bummed out because this is important! Take a look back in the past 12 months and think about what goals did you set up that you didn’t complete. Did you want to be somewhere this year but you’re not there? Did you have a target that you didn’t hit? Whether it’s a sales goal or team-building goal, new client, vacation…  I see you. I’ve been there. I had goals for this year that I have achieved and missed.  When we miss a goal Sometimes we talk about the toxic positivity of pushing ourselves to do more or pretend that things are okay when they’re not. (Check out how to show up authentically on social media.) We often beat ourselves up when we don’t meet certain goals. But I’m here to tell you that it’s okay. And that your loved ones doesn’t love you less.  Take it as a lesson instead (in this case, you still win!) Ask yourself, What can I learn from this? What needs to be adjusted or changed? If you are not being intentional and purposeful, then you are wasting your time, energy, attention, and space. You are not doing things that are aligned with yourself and your goals. (And If you need help with that, you can reach out to me.)   When we surpass a goal If you have set a goal and you passed it, then great job. Pat yourself on the back and celebrate your wins. Then proceed to reflect, What happened there? Could I possibly have set the goal lower than what I did? (Because you might be selling yourself short!) You can now set yourself up even higher and let yourself dream. Don’t listen to that inner critic that tells you not to hype your goals to avoid disappointment.    Wrapping up So as you are setting goals this week, I want you to assess which among your missed goals are you still aligned with for the next year. And which goals did you hit that you want to continue and upscale? There are many different ways to keep track of our goals, and I recommend you to see the Hot Air Balloon method so you can pinpoint where to improve.   Setting yourself up for success Start your first few weeks of January by jumping into opportunities where you could grow.  That’s why I encourage you to join our VIP group bootcamp! If you are looking for a jumpstart in January, this is it. We will be working every single day to grow your group, build your brand, and help you show up more authentically and strong in your business. A lot of things are put in place in this program to set yourself up for success this 2022.  I also want you to write down what you learned, what is something you’d love to implement, and what information do you need to learn about? Post them and tag me in so we could discuss! Join our community for more opportunities to connect and grow your business!

Goal Setting with the Hot Air Balloon Method

    Release Date: 12/23/2021

    Duration: 12 Mins

Description: I came up with this method about a year and a half ago. And I realized it works best for those who are very visual: those who likes outlines, pretty pictures, creative endeavors, etc. So if you are that person, you are going to love this method.   So here’s how it goes: Visualize a hot air balloon. Picture it however you wanted it to look like, as long as it’s a hot air balloon. That hot air ballon is your finished goal. It could be increase in sales, new members, developing habits,  managing finances, etc. So let’s say your hot air balloon is hitting $500 personal sales in January. How do you get there?  Then let’s imagine the fabric that holds that hot air balloon together. That fabric is going to be your game plans. Those are the things that you need to accomplish in order to get to that hot air balloon goal. So maybe that means having three parties, or going live three times a week. The game plan is the set of specific things you have to do to get to your hot air balloon. Now let’s break it down further. The stitches that hold the fabric together is going to be your action steps. It’s the 15-20 minute checklist items— tasks that can be completed in one sitting (check out methods in creating action steps.) So what are your checklist items to achieve those three parties? Maybe you need to reach out to five past hostesses who haven’t hosted this year yet. Maybe you need to check in to five people who made significant purchases in the last two months. You can do those things in one sitting!   Here is the link for the printable referenced in this podcast episode: https://drive.google.com/file/d/12quVW30CuYd1DTZISR4XBzcHEwEleHZb/view?usp=sharing

    Duration: 14 Mins

Description: December is a great month to plan ahead. So look ahead on what’s coming.   Where do you want your business to be 6 months from now? And what do you need to do now, to get in that position?   There’s a lot of ways to grow whether it is paid or not. Though to be honest, paid trainings and programs have some leverage not just because of the focused training, but also because we show up differently when we know we are paying for something.  As you sit down and write your plans, I want you to think of what areas do you understand your purpose and what areas do you need to grow in. Because your purpose is your own. No one can tell you what it is. There are things that only YOU can fill in.   So in this season, what is your purpose?   What is your focus today?   I’m here to help If you’re in the place where you want to grow but you don’t know how or you’re feeling stuck, let me know. Have you been doing everything you can (like earning from a corporate job, managing a business, having savings, etc) and realize you haven’t paid yourself? That you still have debts? Because if you do, then it’s time to repurpose your finances. Your business is more than just an accolade and how much you have sold. There’s a lot of management going on behind it: money, team, personal life, and more. And if you are stepping into your business owner role, you should think of your business as more than just a hustle, side job, or a hobby. This is your business, YOU own it, so show up as a business owner! And that means owning up your finances too. It’s you taking control of your finances, not your finances controlling you. Intentionality in Overwhelm

    Release Date: 11/30/2021

    Duration: 32 Mins

Description: Intentionality and Overwhelm: how are they related? It’s been a busy season so today we will talk about the connection between intentionality and overwhelm. Because overwhelm is the opposite of intentionality. Anytime we feel overwhelmed, it usually means that we are not aligned with ourselves. That we are trying to meet expectations that other people had set for us. And if we are not showing up with a plan and a purpose of our own, nor showing up every day as business owners, then we are not sure what we are actually doing in our business. …which means that we are probably doing more than what we should be doing (thus the overwhelm.)  That’s why a big part of my coaching is highlighting that it is YOUR business. Not the company, your leaders, business partners, etc. They’re just there to support you. But it is YOUR business. And it is up for us to determine, “Am I building somebody else’s version of my business?” Because if you do, then it’s time to set intentions in your business. (Check out tips on how you can create an intentional business plan.)   So how do not hit the overwhelm button? As direct sellers, we are bombarded with a lot of advertisement and deals that demand our attention. We are also exposed to things that tell us what we are “supposed” to be doing. And if we’re not careful, we will be caught up in those lists. So we should take a step back and frequently ask ourselves, “but what’s my list? What do I need and want to focus on?”  And one of the ways we could narrow our focus to avoid overwhelm is by brain dumping. So here’s my three-part series in brain dumping (I have a full class on this, but I will share this with you briefly here): 1. Set a timer and just write anything that comes to your head. Remember that brain dumps don’t have to be organized, neat, nor right. Just write every thought down! 2. Walk away from it and do something else. 3. Come back to it after 2 or more hours later and then highlight what are the most important, and things on that list that you know to be true You should then be left with 4-10 things on that list and those should become your focus.  Join us in this episode for more tips on how to avoid overwhelm in your business!    Get full show info here! https://direct-sales-done-better.mykajabi.com/blog/avoidoverwhelm

    Intentionality in Thanksgiving

    Release Date: 11/25/2021

    Duration: 5 Mins

Description: Yes, we are all looking forward to the sales, promotions, deals, etc. right now. (See how you can be intentional in promotions and sales.) But I also want to remind you to take time to unplug, no matter what this holiday looks like for you. Make sure to take some time to be intentionally present with your family! Because our businesses are pieces of what we do, but they are not every bit of what we do. And you might be in that “one more message” or “I’m close to the next goal” stage right now. But if we spend every minute of our every day just on business things, then we’ve missed the point behind it. Always remember your why. Why are you doing all of these in the first place? What’s your underlying goal? For me, one of the things I committed to do is to be intentionally present with my family. If I am with them, I am fully with them. Especially during the holidays! So I am encouraging you today to do what you have to do now, then set a schedule for bonding with your family. No phones, no business. Just being present with them. Also, take some time to think of what will you be thankful for in this moment. Lastly, I wanted to thank YOU for being a part of this community, podcast, group, my circle. And if you haven’t connected yet, don’t hesitate to message me or reach out to me here! I would LOVE to hear from you and get to know you.   Happy Thanksgiving!

    Intentionality through Promotions and Sales

    Release Date: 11/18/2021

    Duration: 18 Mins

Description: We stand out when our ways of direct selling is fully intentional. So I have four bullet points for you to remember:  1. It’s more than just numbers. It’s more than just the number of sales, number of customers, numbers of followers, etc. Numbers are just a piece of what we do.  So instead of thinking, “I missed the goal of 15.” Tell yourself, “hey I sold 5. And found people that are the best fit for the product.”  Helping customers find meaningful purchase is beneficial in the long term!   2. Relationships before sales. These upcoming holidays will be busy for everyone and each one of us will have our own priorities. Do not forfeit relationships in trying to hit direct sales goals. These are people dealing with life at the other end of that screen. Respect that. They are people, not just numbers!   3. Solutions over status. In network marketing, we acknowledge the top sellers, high ranking ones, etc. But again, this is more than just numbers and status. What do your customers actually need? Provide solutions even if it is endorsing another direct seller. Because your customer will respect and remember you as a provider of solutions!   4. Value over metrics. Provide value over getting the next sale. What something meaningful have you built with your customers? Because trust me, building relationships is more beneficial over time. Tune in to this episode for additional Black Friday marketing tips! Plus, ideas on what you can do each day before the big sales day!   As you make your holiday plans, remember to make it intentional! We would love to celebrate and grow with you. Join our community!

    Intention for Every Day

    Release Date: 11/11/2021

    Duration: 41 Mins

Description: Intentionality and Authenticity And why is that important in today’s topic on intentionality? Because our businesses are huge mirror to what’s going on with us internally. And when you set intentions based on what’s important and authentic to you, you, your business, and everything else thrive!   “The best thing with intentionality is you get to decide. You get to decide what your intention is.”   What does setting intention looks like? It’s not just getting the task done. It’s making sure that those tasks are connected to your vision and mission. So knowing yourself and owning your identity are crucial in setting intentions. And setting intention is making a shift not just in your plans, but also in how you operate your mind and emotions. So when you sit down and do your (intentional) task, ask yourself, “who do I need to be in this moment?”   It’s not forcing happiness and productivity Being intentional all throughout doesn’t mean we have to ‘hustle’ all the time. It’s quite the opposite. Being intentional is doing tasks that are meaningful and impactful (to us, our business, family, & community) so we could also prioritize rest, leisure, and other ‘non-productive’ stuff that are important to us, too.   And part of the intention is not to be happy all the time. Because… it’s life. (We are authentic here!) But instead of telling yourself that everything in your life is going wrong, tell yourself that there are still things that need to be processed. You cannot deny either that there is something wrong because your body’s going to revolt.   So acknowledge your feelings, then release.   Intentionality builds better relationships  In direct sales, always ask your why. Why are you messaging those 20 people? Why are you selling these products? Why are you meeting with this person? and more. If you can’t provide any meaningful reason aside from it’s a requirement, then it’s a wasted time and energy. People feel when you just interact with them transactionally. So come into the conversation with a transformational mindset. In that way, you build better relationships, and better business!   Join our community   About Karla Snow Karla is the co-founder of: My Story Economy. Intentionality in Planning

    Release Date: 11/4/2021

    Duration: 56 Mins

Description: As a network marketer, I am connected with a lot of fellow moms with young kids. So I understand very well that there’s no time to waste! So intentionality is important because it makes you aware of what you do with your time.  In business, talking about intentionality is not just about planning what’s on your day to day. It also debunks the negative myth of entrepreneurship (especially in startups) that is hustle and grind. Because as human beings, that’s impossible. We can’t be hustling all day everyday! Productivity is important as entrepreneurs (because you’re producing) but it also provides a lot of guilt and shame when you’re doing other things that is not considered “productive” (which is totally fine to do so!) It’s also important to step out from your business once in a while and do other things that would give you rest and refresh. That’s why it’s important to provide yourself some structure. And to be intentional in planning, always ask yourself, “why am I doing this?” How to plan intentionally A pro-tip from Vince is that instead of having a “to-do-list” (which feels like you are being told what to do,) have a list of “I choose to do these things today.” We will be tackling about a lot of intentionality hacks in this episode so be sure to hop on! Also check out previous episode for tips on how to apply intentionality. Grab your freebie here. And connect with Vince through his website here.

The Importance of Intentionality in Business

    Release Date: 11/1/2021

    Duration: 20 Mins

Description: Last month we focused on how network marketers can start their business, put on the business owner hat, and show up authentically. And for this month, we’re moving towards intentionality. Why is it important?  Intentionality is the exact opposite of hustle culture (check out the previous episode to know why hustle culture is a bad word!) Being intentional requires you to ask, “is everything I do tied to a reason or purpose?”  And this doesn’t mean that you have to be doing something every minute. Even my spending 20 minutes outside doing nothing is intentional. I am intentionally grounding, resting, and refocusing. And this can be different for you. But the biggest piece of this is that there’s no wasted time, energy or space. Showing up Authentically you on Social Media

    Release Date: 10/28/2021

    Duration: 35 Mins

Description: Social Media and Authenticity: Are they possible together? The beauty of network marketing is being able to connect with other people not just to sell stuff, but also to build authentic and wonderful relationships. And one of the distinguished ways to connect is through social media. If you’ve been following this podcast for a while now, you already know the importance of being authentic when you show up for your business. So how do we do that on social media? Setting Boundaries The challenge with social media is trying to set up content that uphold our personal values— without compromising our privacy (especially when it comes to our kids!)  Social Media Tips Aside from showing up authentically, there are small hacks that we could do to improve our social media presence. Here are some of them:   Enter the keywords that are related to your content or niche into your bio.  Include in your link tree the following: links to your community, other social media pages, and your featured content for that week or month.  Schedule your social media content (tip: utilize the Facebook business suite.)  Connect your Facebook business page to your Instagram.  Have two consistent hashtags to use on all your posts. But remember that content and engagement are becoming more important (and prioritized in algorithms) than hashtags.  Minimize words on pictures you post especially when you’re using carousel.  Always put a call to action on your posts.  Set up link resources for your group and team members if you’re not always available.   So to manage your social media for business, show up authentically, but set up boundaries for your personal life. And don’t worry about setting boundaries! Because the right people or the people in your circle will understand.   Grab your freebie I mention in the outro here.

What do Avocados have to do with Email?

    Release Date: 10/12/2021

    Duration: 32 Mins

Description: Creating a Conversation in Email Marketing If you’ve known me for a while, you would see how I emphasize the importance of building a brand around who you are authentically and not just around what you sell. And I instantly connected with Ashley because that’s what she teaches too. And here are some of the awesome email marketing tips we talked about:  While socials are useful, be aware that you shouldn’t just rely on social media when building your brand. You have to direct them to your email.  Literally write as you speak. Add your personality to your tone and verbiage. And if you’re unsure, read the post out loud. Does it sound like you? Show yourself apart from other direct sellers who copy paste the same thing. Read the information from the company then write what you remember. Incorporate your own voice as you write.  Keep a legitimate conversational marketing subject lines  While it’s good to send good vibes, we don’t always have to be pumped up in our emails. People want the reality of things. So show both signs of the coin of your product.  Focus BOTH on building your team and your products.  Put the spotlight on one product, then highlight what it can do for your customers specifically. It’s not just, “Drink the coffee!” but “why should you drink the coffee?”  Avoid scammy, click bait emailing, and respect the person you are emailing Focus on the storytelling and make it short!   Email marketing is a great reminder tool, but remember that a person’s inbox is their home. And you don’t just barge in to someone’s home and say “Hey! I got a live, sale, or other stuff.” Instead, write your email like you normally start a quick chat. And remember that you are talking to actual people behind those screens. It’s not just numbers, subscriber count, click rate, etc. So humanize yourself. You have to have a connection to start a conversation!  Apply that lipstick If you’re not yet doing email marketing, get your booty on there, sign up to MailerLite, and start playing around. You don’t have to craft the perfect email yet. Just put your email right there, let people know about it, and start collecting information that you’re provided. And if you’ve already been doing email marketing and think that you should be doing more, it’s highly recommended to start off with a monthly touchpoint. And focus on being consistent with what you are doing.  About Ashley DeLuca Over the past 5 years, Ashley have mastered email marketing for e-Commerce and service based businesses by simply putting the conversation and intention back into it. Since starting in the email world, she have also worked with many 6-7 figure businesses ranging from business coaching to health and wellness physical products. And as an email communication strategist, she’s obsessed with avocados and sea turtles. But more importantly, helping you build a relationship-first company with email marketing.  She has recently launched her book called “Own Your Table” that teaches how to sell using email marketing on autopilot. Duration: 50 Mins

Description: To be an entrepreneur is to be YOU   One of the amazing qualities of being an entrepreneur is our courage and tenacity to bring something into this world. And being an entrepreneur requires us to have the confidence to show ourselves.    And if you are conscious about being ‘different,’ know that every single person in the world is unique, and thus you only have to be brave enough to show YOUR uniqueness!   Because a huge piece of network marketing is owning your business and making it authentic to you.    Your personality, experiences, circumstances are incredibly unique to you and that reflects on your business. And this is important to know as a network marketer because people buy things for the experience and connection.    Because so many people are selling the same thing, it's important to ask yourself, “how am I different? How will I build the connection between me, my customers, and my products?”   And the key to having those connections is to bring something deeper, more valuable into your conversations. So your story and your connection with your products are critically important because that’s how people can connect with you.  Connect with Vince at Chasing the Insights  Podcast with Abby Nicole Garrison  Access to freebie mentioned in the end of the episode
