Leading The Way Radio Podcast - What is Faith?
What does real faith look like? In this foundational message, Dr. Michael Youssef points to Elijah, Abraham, Rahab, and other believers in Scripture to show that faith is more than emotion or positive thinking. Biblical faith rests on the character of God and the authority of His inerrant Word. It trusts when circumstances are uncertain, obeys when the cost is high, and moves forward before the outcome is visible. This episode calls believers to: Reject fear and self-reliance, Trust God’s promises without compromise, Obey even when the path is unclear, Sacrifice comfort for faithfulness, Live with confidence in the living Lord Jesus Christ. The saints of Scripture were not superhuman. They were just like us. What set them apart was faith that trusted God enough to act. Scripture Focus: Hebrews 11:1–3; James 5:17–18 If today’s teaching stirred a question, burden, or need for prayer, you don’t have to walk through it alone. Discover the Word Podcast - The Gospel of Ruth - Week 1
Traditionally, the Old Testament book of Ruth has been viewed as a love story. But in this series of 12 conversations with author Carolyn Custis James, Mart DeHaan and Elisa Morgan discover that this story of Naomi and Ruth and Boaz is not all about romance. It’s about God’s ability to make much of broken lives, and how he calls men and women to serve together to build His kingdom.Receive What do we do when life doesn’t follow the Cinderella script? How do we respond when the life we get doesn’t seem to have the happily-ever-after ending that we hoped for? Traditionally, the Old Testament book of Ruth has been viewed as a love story. But there’s so much more to the story than meets the eye. As we dig deeper into the stories of Naomi, Ruth, and Boaz, we get a picture of God’s ability to make much of broken lives, and how He calls men and women to serve together to build His kingdom. How can the story of Naomi, Ruth, and Boaz encourage you as you face hardships in your life? Reflect Based on Ruth 1:1–5, how is Naomi’s story similar to Job’s story of suffering? How was Naomi’s situation perhaps even more dire than Job’s? How does the end of Naomi’s story in Ruth 4:13–17 remind us that God gives us beauty for ashes? How can we relate to Naomi’s laments in Ruth 1:6–13 and Ruth 1:20–21 when we’re going through times of sorrow, grief, or hardship? Based on Ruth 1:14-18, why did Ruth refuse to leave Naomi? Who was she really clinging to? Respond (Use this prayer to start a conversation with God) “Dear God, thank You that You are close to the brokenhearted. Help me turn to You even in the midst of any sorrow or pain I’m experiencing. Help me feel Your comfort and love during any trials I face.” Discover more about the topics in this episode with these recommended resources Mentioned in this episode: The Gospel of Ruth Where Ya From? The Christian Working Woman - When Integrity is Challenged at Work
Presented by Lauren Stibgen Integrity is a big word in business. It is found in codes of conduct, employee handbooks, and job descriptions as a catch all word. I was curious about how much the word integrity shows up in job descriptions alone. According to ChatGPT, this word appears one to three times in postings for leadership, finance, healthcare, ministry, nonprofit, and executive roles. But what does it mean? Those who have been around for a while know I love my Merriam-Webster dictionary as a launching point. According to Merriam-Webster, integrity has three definitions1. firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values: incorruptibility. an unimpaired condition: soundness. the quality or state of being complete or undivided: completeness. As always, the problem with any dictionary definition is it is open to a wide lens of interpretation. Whose moral code is the right moral code? Surely, we have a legal standard within business laws that are guardrails, but this doesn’t stop people from having a lack of integrity. It just establishes the standard by which we measure a consequence. As for an unimpaired condition, we have building codes for this to make sure the structural integrity of a building or a bridge is intact. But again, this can be challenged by builders who skirt the codes to save some money! And, what about the state of being complete or undivided? You may hear someone say the opinion written by someone has integrity—meaning the paper is complete. The problem with integrity? Sometimes it is high and sometimes it is low. Like the temperature variance here in the Midwest between January and July, integrity can be wildly off! So, how can we distill down? In an article entitled “Integrity” from the Harvard Business Review, Karen Christensen interviewed Harvard professor, Michael Jensen who says, “Integrity is a matter of a person’s word—nothing more and nothing less.”2 Like the third definition of being complete or undivided, keeping one’s word is about doing what you say you are going to do. He separates integrity from the concepts of morality and ethics stating morality and ethics are “normative concepts in that they deal with matters of good or bad, right vs. wrong”. For example, as a Christian, I have a normative set of values that are likely held by other Christians. As I noted above, who’s good is good? Jensen argues that integrity is key to what he calls workability within an organization. “Without integrity the workability of any object, system, person, group or organization declines; and as workability declines, the opportunity for performance declines.” He states that integrity leads to trust. As a follower of Jesus, I am called to a high standard of morals and ethics. How I keep my word following these morals and ethics is where my integrity comes into play. We will all fail to keep our word at various levels. Sometimes, Jensen argues, we even fail to honor our word to ourselves. This could look like failing to go to the gym

Living a Legacy - 2026-08-15 For His Kingdom Series: Worth the Split part 1
Once we become members of the body of Christ, we become part of a war. The Bible for the most part accurately portrays an “us and them” reality.
