    New Edition- Inspirations and Influences

Watching the New Edition Story got me thinking. What happened to the Black Male R&B group. Temptations, Jackson 5, New Edition, Jodeci. We do not have anything like that in 2017. No Black Male R&B groups signed to any major label right not. This mix is a journey through the History of Black Male R&B groups. Doo-Wop, to Soul To Funk, To Modern musicians keeping the tradition alive on their own.

    The Eye Inside

Wow, Ok. I have been sitting on this mix for a while. Can't really say why. It is extremely special to me. It is a look inside my growth as a DJ. This mix cascades through many styles. Beginning with music I used to play a lot, and building into styles I have just recently learned about. Also the vocal pieces, and narration give a good look into what I think about the working artist and how to mentally approach your work. I hope you enjoy, and that this composition adds something positive to your life. DJ Alias

    All Wants and Needs

What up all, I made this mix for Pilar to show her through music what she means to me. I love her a whole lot, and these beats represent that. Also I did not make it on Valentines Day! Share this journey with someone special Alias

Change forces change (Whole Lotta Love) Ike and Tina Turner

Change is a great thing for and artist. In recent years I have scheduled my time appropriately so that I could listen to, and process music in a way that would help me grow as a person and a music lover. After listening and processing I would begin to play around with music on the turntables, figure out what songs work together, and play some bass along with my favorite music to internalize it. Next step would be to create a mix, or a beat or some piece of music/writing to express what I have just learned. These steps not only fulfilled me artistically, but they helped to become a better DJ and a more knowledgeable music lover. A number of great things have come into my life that have forced me to change this routine. I do not have as much time to CREATE as I used to. It has been hard for me to adjust, but I realized I have to make the most of the time I do have even if it is not what I am used to. One thing that has not fallen off is my time to listen to music. I still listen to many styles of music extensively and with purpose. For the near future my podcast will feature simply the music that enters my life through my intense listening regime. (No worries I have plenty of unreleased mixes I will drop on you here and there) I still want to share music with you, and express my feelings on it. I hope you enjoy this temporary format, and that it enriches your life in some way. If you "listen close you'll hear what I'm about" Alias

The Beat goes on- (Universal Language Theme)

The journey of the show would feel something like this: Andre 3000 called Redman to tell him that the Red Hot Chili Peppers are doing an album with MgMt. Production by Danger Mouse. Redman could not keep that a secret so he hit up Diamond D and the Large Professor who were chilling with Tribe at the time. As Q-tip heard the news Marvin Gaye, Jelly Roll Morton and Bach looked down at these joining forces with approval. The spirit of those legends got the attention of Mick Jagger and Victor Wooten who were at Kanye West’s studio. Vic’s Reggae bass lines inspired Kanye. He promptly emailed The Rebirth Brass band who channeled Coltrane and they all started a parade.

Day in Day Out - (Good Morning) Part One of Three Narrated by FENSTER

My daily life is built around listening to, researching, creating, and blending music. I would say I am officially obsessed with music and sound. I actually get depressed if I don't have my daily music fill. This mix is entitled DAY IN DAY OUT as it is a look into my daily routine. Not only musically but mentally and emotionally as well. As I go through out the day my soundtrack is similar to this. My intention is that the messages, beats, breaks, harmonies, and rhymes are relevant to your DAY IN DAY OUT on a personal level.
