S1 EP8 Luke Barrow men's mental health and founder of Two pints deep
This weeks guest and last in the series is Luke. Luke Barrow was living the high life out in Australia a couple of years ago. But one day a sudden phone call from his dad tipped his life upside down. Luke was told that his mum's cancer had spread and he needed to come home urgently. Within a week Luke's mum sadly passed away. Leaving Luke of course very down mentally, he decided to bottle it up but that didn't help the problems he was facing at all.It was a short time later while chatting with his mates over a pint that Luke started to open up to them on how he was mentally coping. At the same time though some of his other mates started to open up aswell. This sparked the idea for Luke to turn this into a positive hence creating his own men's mental heath charity Two pints deep. Since the creation of two pints deep it has expanded hugely with thousands of people interacting with the charity. I chat to Luke on how we can all make a positive change in the mental health and men's mental health sector. A great way to finish the series. Two Pints deep:website Two Pints Deepsocials @twopintsdeepWebsites for mental health help:Using this tool | Mind - MindTwo Pints DeepMental Health Foundation | Everyone deserves good mental healthHenry Carpenter socials @henrycarpenter2DOTFP socials @downonthefarmpodcast

S1 EP6 Archie MS The support network
Archie is one of my closest mates. You may ask why he has been chosen as a guest for this episode. Firstly he's a great laugh and full of surprises and secondly I wanted to take the chat about the support network alot further. Someone going through an accident or illness/injury usually will rely on one thing. That one thing being the support network. Archie was a big part of my support network during my whole recovery do it was great to openly chat about the challenges people may not realise you have to face as a family member or friend. From keeping the motivation up to dealing with the challenges that may occur its hard to some up into words really.Archie is also very keen tennis player. Studying and training at a high level at Ozarks University in the US. While studying finance on the side. It really is an honour to call this man one of my best mates so tune in for what's going to be an interesting episode.Archie MS socials @archiemsHenry Carpenter socials @henrycarpenter2DOTFP Socials @downonthefarmpodcast

S1 EP5 David Castle The ROH Boys
This weeks guest is now a person I can call a good friend, Dave castle. Dave is a person I met on my ward during my stay in hospital earlier this year after more intense hip surgery. I was very low at the time as this surgery was sprung across me very quickly. Dave, myself and our other mate also on our ward Sonny made life inside the hospital a lot more uplifting. Everyone in a hospital is going through a rough time in one way or another but the banta we had helped push us though. We ended up being called the ROH boys (royal orthopaedic hospital).Dave has had his fair share of hospital stays to say the least and in this episode I wanted us to openly chat about how a different outlook can change your stay in hospital whether short or long. It doesn't always have to be scary, overwhelming and sad. Sometimes the only way is to find the small positives. Dave has has many experience of illness, transplants, trauma injury and many more I couldn't have asked for a better person to talk the subject with. Sadly Sonny couldn't make it on but I'm sure he will be laughing. So have a listen to learn something abit different.Henry Carpenter socials @henrycarpenter2DOTFP socials @downonthefarmpodcast
