    As the season comes to a close we discuss Lovecraft Country Episode 10 the finale of the show. As everyone returns to Ardham for the final battle.Lovecraft Country Episode 10 "Full Circle" SummaryWith the Book of Names in their possession Atticus and Leti begin the incantation to remove the curse from Dee’s body, but are pulled through to another place where they are connected to Hanna and Atticus’ mum, Dora, who impart their wisdom of magic and their family on them. Removing the curse from Dee, Leti, Atticus, Hippolyta and Montrose, set about to disrupt Chistina’s plans for Atticus. After obtaining the flesh of Titus Braithwaite using the Book of Names, they also enlist Ji-Ah and ask Ruby to obtain the final part of their counter-spell, a piece of Christina’s body. As the autumnal equinox approaches the gang return to Ardham County, joined by Ruby, Ji-Ah and Dee, to begin their offensive. But their plans are thrown into chaos as Christina has taken the form of Ruby, who lies in a coma back in Chicago. Throwing Leti from the village tower and capturing Atticus with the help of the Ardham locals, Christina, as the moon rises high in the sky, performs her spell on Atticus to become immortal. But as all seems lost, Leti and Ji-Ah come together to connect Atticus with Christina and begin their counter-incantation. In an explosive force of magic Christina is beaten but at a terrible cost. The willing sacrifice by Atticus to die ensures that his unborn son, his family and friends are protected, but also the power of magic is removed from the Braithwhites and white people to the Freemans and black people.     It's a strange wonderful trip through time and space on Lovecraft Country Episode 7 "I Am." Hypolytta learns what kind of person she is.Lovecraft Country Episode 7 "I Am." SummaryAfter going to Ardham County, Hippolyta’s journey of discovery continues through time and space after unlocking the secrets of Hiram’s Orary. Elsewhere, Atticus and his father’s relationship hits a new low as he encounters Montrose and Sammy at his dad’s flat while looking for information about his mother’s side of the family. As Tic attempts to track down the Book of Names in St Louis he is warned by Leti that Hippolyta has the Orary and could be in danger. At a space observatory in Kansas, Hippolyta activates the device, just as members of Captain Lancaster’s police have her at gunpoint. Atticus arrives to help his Aunt but during the fight with the cops a rip in space and time opens up and both Tic and Hippolyta are flung through the tear. From the Kansas observatory to a high tech “cell” with the being “I am” Hippolyta is then teleported to Paris to dance with Josephine Baker, from there Hippolyta travels onwards to ancestral Africa (with Confederate soldiers) and further into the sci-fi world of her daughter’s comics with George. Her odyssey through multiple worlds is transformative and empowering as she learns about her thoughts, her feelings, her desires and ultimately who she is and what freedom means. Penny Dreadful City of Angels Season 1 Recap The Lady of the Holy Death, Santa Muerte and her Demon sister Magda discuss the fate of mankind. Magda believes that “All mankind needs to be the monster he truly is is being told he can.” and wants to prove it to Santa Muerte. Magda kills a group of Mexican farm workers including Jose Vega. As Jose dies in her arms Santa Muerte protects his young son Tiago leaving him scarred for life.In 1938 on his first day as the only Mexican American Detective in the LAPD Tiago Vega is confronted by the grizzly murder of The Hazletts, a rich white family from Beverly Hills. Working with his Jewish partner, Lewis Michner, their investigation leads them to the Joyful Voices ministry where Tiago falls in love with his prime suspect in the case, Sister Molly Finnister. But Molly learns that her own mother, Miss Adelaide, had the Hazlett family murdered to protect their church’s wealth and influence. Adelaide used traditional Mexican iconography to hide the motive for the Hazlett’s deaths. Reeling from the revelation Sister Molly takes her own life and is welcomed into the arms of Santa Muerte.Before Tiago’s arrival, Lewis Michener, had been fighting the creeping influence of the Nazi’s on LA with his friends Dottie, Sam, Anton and Jewish mafia boss Benny Berman. When Sam and Anton are murdered by the Nazi’s, the Jewish friends try to save a young scientist, Brian Koenig. Koenig has worked out the secret to rocket propelled flight which could give extend the Nazi’s weapon range all the way to the USA. When Michner learns that Brian Koenig is fascinated by the science of what he is creating and has no thought of the possible impacts, the detective chooses death for the young scientist.Meanwhile throughout the city of angels, demon Magda creates various personas to influence susceptible men to ready the path for her arrival. When nation battles nation, race devours race and brother kills brother not a soul will be left and Magda will appear.Her first persona Alex takes the form of a mousy personal assistant to closeted gay Councilman Charlton Townsend. Working with German architect Herr Richard Goss, Alex encourages Townsend to get support for a road through immigrant populations in Los Angeles by promising him greater power in the city. They keep the councilman in check by arranging a relationship with Kurt, a handsome but dangerous gestapo officer.The second, Rio, is a co leader of a flamboyant Mexican American group, the Pachucos. She influences Tiago’s younger brother Mateo Vega to murder the racist abuser Officer Reilly igniting tensions between the Mexican Americans residents and the LAPD. When Tiago finds out it was his brother who murdered the officer he pins it and the murder of the Hazlett family on another member of the Pachuco’s a patsy Diego Lopez. Diego believes he has a powerful hold over Tiago but on his transfer to San Quentin State Prison Lewis Michener is unable to protect the boy from the violent bigotted cops who bind Lewis and lynch Diego on the streets of his hometown.A third persona, German immigrant Elsa is trying to influence another German immigrant, Doctor Peter Kraft, to embrace his family’s legacy as warmongers to lead his German-American Bundt organisation into an influential Nazi supporting lobby group. To achieve this goal she creates a fourth manifestation, Frank, who creates a rift between the Kraft family and their beloved housekeeper Tiago’s mother Maria Vega.Magda also takes advantage of a standoff between the LAPD and the workers union, led by Tiago’s brother Raul Vego, to whisper in the ears of both sides to turn the confrontation violent. Raul is left with a life threatening injury until his mother Maria calls on the power of Santa Muerte to save him. Raul is forever changed by his brush with death but believes he has a purpose yet to be fulfilled.As Tiago mourns the loss of Sister Molly, Magda pays a silent visit to him. Frankenstein and Jekyll test their modified serum on their subject with miraculous results. Hecate encourages Ethan to embrace his dark side; they also reveal secrets to one another, bringing them closer. With Ethan’s agreement, she summons rattlesnakes to kill the rangers; Rusk and Ostow survive although Kaetenay is bitten. Ethan appears to accept his darkness more and more, and makes love to Hecate. In the desert, Ethan’s horse collapses, then later Hecate’s, forcing them to continue on foot. Hecate later collapses from the heat and is barely alive when Sir Malcolm arrives with Kaetenay, also barely alive. Sir Malcolm attempts to murder Hecate, but Ethan won’t allow it. Riders summoned by Ethan’s father, Jared Talbot, arrive and take them to the household, leaving Kaetenay to die at the request of Ethan; Sir Malcolm is unhappy with this. Talbot requests Sir Malcolm’s assistance in dealing with Ethan. He shows Ethan the room where their family died at the hands of Native Americans, saying that he will pay for his hand in it, aiming his pistol at him, and demanding he repent then and there on pain of death and damnation. He shows her a soup kitchen and medical clinic of sorts where he donates some of his time and money. There, Vanessa meets the Creature. Sir Malcolm meets Mrs. Poole in a department store where she mesmerizes him. Ethan, Vanessa, Dr. Frankenstein and Sir Malcolm invite Ferdinand Lyle to translate the verbis diablo for them. He tells them that in the 11th century, a monk named Father Gregory claimed he was possessed by a demon who spoke to him in the verbis diablo. He wrote down what he was told and those artifacts are now in the British Museum. Dr. Frankenstein meanwhile has successfully reanimated Lily but he struggles with his own feelings for her. She quickly learns to speak – and has lost her accent – but has no memory of her past life. Dorian Gray meets Angelique, who works in a brothel. Finally, Inspector Rusk visits Warren Roper, one of the men who was severely injured in the attack at the Mariner’s Inn. Vanessa says the women were Nightcomers, witches. Meanwhile, Dr. Victor Frankenstein is now ready to reanimate Brona Croft and needs only for the weather to cooperate. The Creature finds a job at Putney’s Family Waxworks where the owner, Oscar Putney, is working on his latest tableau, the Mariner’s Inn Massacre.
