Flaunt! Find Your Sparkle & Create a Life You Love After Infidelity or Betrayal with Lora Cheadle: A Decade of FLAUNT!
A Decade of FLAUNT!: Truth-Telling, Betrayal, and Defining Yourself What ten years of podcasting taught me about exposure, revelation, and reclaiming who you are. FLAUNT! is officially ten years old, and this anniversary episode is both a celebration and a reflection on what a decade of truth-telling has revealed. When Lora first started the podcast, she believed she was happily married and thought the show would focus primarily on empowerment, wellness, sensuality, confidence, visibility, humor, spirituality, and the art of living freely. Using burlesque as a metaphor, she explored the tension between concealing and revealing, the ways women cover or enhance parts of themselves, and how personal growth invites us to strip away roles, labels, scripts, and expectations. But over the past ten years, the show evolved in ways Lora never expected. Betrayal, burnout, affair recovery, nervous-system capacity, self-trust, and identity reconstruction became central themes. What once felt like a joyful personal-development conversation became something deeper and more urgent after betrayal exposed the difference between revealing yourself by choice and being exposed by someone else’s actions. In this episode, Lora asks one of the core questions that has shaped both the podcast and her TEDx work: Who gets to define you? She explores how we come to know ourselves through other people’s judgments, labels, and expectations. Whether we were called the difficult child, the fixer, the shy one, the loud one, the good wife, the good mom, or the capable one, many of us build identities around what others have reflected back to us. Betrayal can rip those identities away and force us to ask who we are without the roles we once relied on. Lora also reflects on the complicated nature of anniversaries. Some anniversaries are joyful, while others mark grief, shock, loss, or the end of a life we thought we were living. A podcast anniversary, a wedding anniversary, a D-Day anniversary, or a divorce anniversary can all bring mixed emotions. Rather than forcing those feelings to make sense, Lora invites listeners to honor the complexity of time, truth, grief, gratitude, and growth. This episode also explores the importance of being proud of yourself, not only for the big wins, but for the quiet moments of survival, self-reflection, honesty, and repair. Lora discusses the difference between blame and self-awareness, especially when betrayed partners look back and recognize places where they were exhausted, over-functioning, resentful, controlling, self-sacrificing, or disconnected from their own truth. That reflection does not excuse betrayal or make the betrayed partner responsible for someone else’s choices. Instead, it creates an opportunity for reclamation. Lora shares how resentment often reveals where we performed a role no one actually asked us to perform. Whether it was keeping the perfect house, being endlessly helpful, managing everyone else’s needs, or sacrificing ourselves to be seen as good, resentment can become a doorway into truth. It asks us to notice where we abandoned ourselves, where we hid our needs, and where we expected others to appreciate something we never clearly chose or communicated. The episode also addresses a tender truth: sometimes we do not face reality because we do not yet have the capacity, safety, resources, support, legal clarity, emotional maturity, or nervous-system strength to deal with it. Humans minimize, rationalize, distract, stay busy, and bury their heads in the sand when the truth would require a decision, they are not ready or resourced enough to make. This can happen in the betrayed partner, and it can also happen in the partner who cheats. An affair may become a distraction from pain, dissatisfaction, or unresolved inner issues, but while that may explain behavior, it does not excuse the harm. Ultimately, this anniversary episode is about truth as a doorway, not a weapon. It is about learning to speak truth to yourself first, then to others. It is about knowing when to show up, when to rest, when to ask better questions, when to respect someone else’s capacity, and when to stop outsourcing your identity to someone else’s judgment, betrayal, or approval. After ten years of FLAUNT!, Lora returns to one central truth: someone else’s judgment is not a verdict. Someone else’s betrayal is not your identity. Truth may strip away fantasy and denial first, but it also creates the possibility of real self-definition. Top 3 Takeaways There is a difference between being exposed and revealing yourself. Betrayal exposes you without your consent. Healing is the process of choosing what you reveal, what you reclaim, what you protect, and what you no longer allow to define you.Someone else’s judgment is not a verdict. Much of our identity is shaped through labels, roles, and reflections from others, but those labels do not have to define us forever. Confidence is the ability to stay connected to who you are, even when someone else misunderstands, judges, betrays, or fails to value you.Truth requires capacity, and avoidance does not erase responsibility. Sometimes we do not face the truth because we do not yet have the resources, safety, support, or emotional capacity to deal with it. That may explain why people minimize, distract, rationalize, or avoid, but it does not excuse harm. Truth becomes healing when it is used as a doorway into responsibility, support, and reclamation. Favorite Quotes “Betrayal strips you without your consent. Healing is when you begin choosing what comes off and what goes back on.” “Sometimes we bury our head in the sand because looking directly at the truth would require us to make a decision that we are either not ready to make or not resourced enough to make.” LOVE THE SHOW? Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro: #674
Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #674 is another hour of dynamic visionary acoustic improvised music and songs by Mariam Massaro brought to you by The Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, acoustic guitar, ukulele, Native flute, double flute, mandolin and Celtic harp, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and Native drum. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in mid-June of 2026, today’s show begins with the rich, bucolic “The Forest Beyond”, a gorgeous, groovy forest song with a compelling vocal from Mariam over imaginative, focused work from the band and “Open My Heart” is a popular ceremonial song that the band presents with an elegant, deeply felt performance to match Mariam’s engaged, beautifully present vocal. “Let’s Do The Best We Can” is fashioned around Mariam’s chiming, energetic and rhythmically tight ukulele with pulsing Native drum and dancing, parrying, ever-inventing piano supporting another inspired vocal. Floating through different reimaginings and soaring, extended Native flute inventions, the piece fascinates and compels with its imagination and creative restlessness. “Ni Dantu’s Wisdom” is a mystical tale told by Mariam with great expression and framed with celestial percussion, throbbing Native drum, somber, expressive acoustic guitar, and minimalist, supportive piano. “You Are All That Is” is something of a Part Two to “Ni Dantu’s Wisdom” featuring gorgeous, soaring vocals and a rich, deeply emotional improvised piano accompaniment. Mariam uncases her evocative, energy-elevating mandolin for the chiming, mystical “Restore Her Beauty”, a wonderfully exotic-sounding air that culminates in an expansive, touching dialogue between Mariam’s evocative vocal and expressive, soaring Native flute. “Grandfather Pine” is today’s “epic”, a 14-minute meditation full of imaginative, playful and inspiring movements, gorgeous vocals, heartfelt Native flute, virtuoso improvised piano, skipping, energized congas. We complete today’s hour with one of Mariam’s early songs, the inspired, exotic “Open Every Day” from the Gaea Star Crystal LP, rendered with great spirit, imagination and energy. Flaunt! Find Your Sparkle & Create a Life You Love After Infidelity or Betrayal with Lora Cheadle: What Are You Under the Influence Of?
What Are You Under the Influence Of? How Fear, Trauma & Other People's Opinions Keep You Stuck After Betrayal After betrayal, everyone seems to have advice. Leave. Stay. Fight for your marriage. Run. Forgive. Never trust again. But when your nervous system is overwhelmed, it's easy to absorb other people's certainty instead of listening to your own truth. In this episode, Lora explores how betrayal trauma increases suggestibility, why fear spreads so quickly, and how to reclaim your ability to think clearly, trust yourself, and make decisions from wisdom rather than panic. Drawing from her experience as an attorney, clinical hypnotherapist, and betrayal recovery coach, Lora explains why knowledge reduces fear, how hypnosis can help break the trance of trauma, and why discernment—not certainty—is the real path to healing. If you've ever wondered whether you're making decisions based on your own truth or someone else's story, this episode is for you. Top 3 Takeaways Betrayal Trauma Makes You More Suggestible. When your nervous system is overwhelmed, your brain naturally seeks certainty. That's why it's easy to absorb other people's opinions, fears, and experiences instead of trusting yourself.Discernment Is Different Than Fear. Fear demands immediate answers. Discernment allows reality to reveal itself over time. Healing isn't about becoming hypervigilant—it's about staying connected to yourself while the truth unfolds.Knowledge Creates Calm. Understanding your legal, financial, emotional, and relational options doesn't force a decision. It reduces fear, increases clarity, and helps you make choices from a place of confidence rather than panic. Favorite Quotes "When we're desperate for certainty, we start borrowing certainty from other people." "Discernment is the ability to stay connected to yourself while reality reveals itself." "Fear shrinks your world. Knowledge expands it." "Healing isn't about becoming fearless. It's about learning how to hear yourself again underneath the noise." LOVE THE SHOW? Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro: #672
This week on Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #672 the Gaea Star Band present another hour of visionary acoustic improv music featuring Mariam Massaro on vocals, Celtic harp, Native flute, ukulele, acoustic 6- and 12-string guitars, mandolin and shruti box, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and Native drum. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts, today’s show begins with the mystical raga “Did You Hear The Song Inside Your Heart?”, a rich, floating piece built around Mariam’s enormous-toned Martin acoustic 12-string guitar tuned in DADGAD open tuning. “What A Way” is a crisp, dancing minor folk song featuring Mariam’s chiming ukulele, energized congas from Craig and nimble, racing piano from Bob supporting Mariam’s dramatic vocal and “The Easy Way” is a fantastical, deeply evocative ballad that achieves a beautiful balance between throbbing Native drum, crisp, ancient-sounding mandolin, minimalist, mysterious piano and Mariam’s beautifully controlled, narrative vocal. “Such Good Fortune” celebrates the year of the Fire Horse through a rich, staid raga built on Mariam’s hypnotizing shruti box drone and featuring soaring Native flute explorations and an appealingly solemn, reverent vocal from Mariam. The piece shifts dramatically into a long, soaring gospel coda punctuated with passionate Native flute excursions, powerful, circular piano and thrumming Native drum. “Celebrate Diversity” is a fantastically creative, upbeat song that explores several jazz, classical and Indigenous directions while always returning to a powerful main motif in support of Mariam’s powerful message. “Transform” is a fine, acoustic-guitar driven blues with a light, relaxed vocal and tight contributions from the ensemble and we conclude today’s show with “Make The Best”, another 12-string based raga with dramatic, granitic piano and Native drum supporting Mariam’s inspiring vocal. Make Mental Health Matter with Kelli Melissa Reinhardt: The Power of Yes. The Power of No.
The Power of Yes. The Power of No. In this thought-provoking episode of the Make Mental Health Matter Show, host Kelli Melissa Reinhardt explores two of the most powerful words in our vocabulary: yes and no. Many personal development experts encourage us to say yes to opportunities because we never know where a new connection, experience, or challenge may lead. While there is tremendous value in being open to growth, there also comes a point where saying yes to everything can leave us overwhelmed, exhausted, and disconnected from what truly matters. Join us as we discuss the importance of finding balance between yes and no in our personal and professional lives. We explore how boundaries help us protect our time, energy, values, and relationships. Whether you are an entrepreneur, parent, employer, employee, or community leader, learning when to say yes and when to say no is essential for living and leading with intention. We also examine the other side of the equation. What happens when someone says no to everything? How can that impact opportunities, relationships, and even the example we set for our children? If people expect rejection every time they ask, they may eventually stop asking altogether. This episode will help you reflect on your own patterns, evaluate whether your decisions align with your values, and discover how both yes and no can become powerful tools for personal growth, healthy relationships, and greater fulfillment. We would also love your help. Please take a few moments to complete our audience survey at www.mmhm.org. Your feedback helps us better understand our audience and continue creating conversations that matter. Because every conversation has the power to save a life. Paperclips & Periods Podcast with Dr. Emily Cabrera & Katie Krych: Carry Shame around Money
Episode 16: Women: What it Means to Carry Shame around Money In this episode of Paperclips & Periods, Dr. Emily K. Cabrera, EdD, MSN, CAGS, PMHNP-BC and Katie Krych, MSN, RN, PMHNP(c) explore what it means to carry shame around money and why that silence can quietly shape so much of a woman's life, her choices, her relationships, and her sense of self. Money is one of the last things women feel permission to talk about honestly. Not because the feelings are not there, but because shame has a way of making people go quiet. This episode names that silence directly and asks what it would look like to start telling the truth about money, not to fix everything at once, but to stop carrying it alone. The conversation opens with where money shame comes from in the first place. Long before we were adults making financial decisions, we were children absorbing money scripts, the unspoken rules and beliefs passed down through family, culture, and circumstance. Messages like "we don't talk about money," "there's never enough," or "wanting more is selfish" do not disappear when we grow up. They run quietly in the background and shape behavior in ways that can be hard to trace. From there, they move into the real cost of that shame. Financial stress is not separate from mental health. It activates the same stress response in the body as any other ongoing threat, and when shame is layered on top of it, it becomes even harder to look at clearly or ask for help. They also discuss what shame resilience actually looks like in practice, including how to do a financial audit without judgment, what values-based budgeting means when it is used as a clarity tool rather than a restriction, and why saying a financial truth out loud to one safe person can be a more meaningful starting point than any spreadsheet. The episode closes with an introduction to financial therapy as a legitimate and growing field that sits at the intersection of mental health and financial planning, along with practical guidance on how to find a financial therapist and what to expect. It ends with three reflection questions for listeners to sit with: What money story did you inherit? Where does shame show up for you? And what financial truth has been waiting for some air? Seek Reality with Roberta Grimes: Happiness in Spite of Grief
Kim Hodous Talks About Happiness in Spite of Grief Our guest today is Kim Hodous, who is with us for the third time. Kim has lost two children, tragically, and yet she is a happiness expert! She is a simply indomitable woman. First, she lost her two-year-old daughter, Chelsea, to leukemia, when Kim was a young mother, just thirty-one years old, and with four children under the age of five. And Kim had dealt pretty well with Chelsea’s death, by writing four books and spending a beautiful 15-year career as “The Happiness Speaker”, teaching companies how best to have happy employees. But she also tells us that she didn’t have the luxury of having those little children to raise in 2022, when her 29-year-old son, Rob, died of a drug overdose, because all her children were grown up by then, and out of the house, in 2022. Fortunately, though, soon after Rob died, within just a few months, Kim discovered The Grief Recovery Method. And wow, you have got to say, this is one resourceful woman! Kim got herself certified in The Grief Recovery Method, and she began to deal with her own grief by helping other mothers deal with suffering the grief of the loss of a child. Kim’s son, Rob, soon began to come through to her then, and he has taught her how to connect with him in a very special way, so now she is able to teach other mothers how to connect with their children in that same lovely way. Kim Hodous is literally a beacon of hope and joy! And now she is with us for the third time, to share that hope and joy amid grief with us. Kim’s website is www.kimhodous.com. Awakening to True Happiness with David Hoffmeister: Miracles Collapse Time
Miracles Collapse Time After David presented the documentary about a poor boy who became a successful entrepreneur, it sparked profound questions among the participants in the online “The Way” session. While it’s easy to accept the script when everything goes according to plan, how do we handle situations that seem to have negative outcomes? David addressed this by emphasizing that the problem lies in our judgment of situations, not in any specific worldly circumstance, regardless of whether people perceive them as positive or negative. As Jesus taught us in ACIM, everything happens for the greater good, without exception. When we judge something negatively, it may seem like God wants us to suffer, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. God’s will for us is perfect happiness, which can only be achieved when we have forgiven the past, forgiven the present, and forgiven the future. Miracles can help us transcend the limitations of time. Other participants inquired about how to navigate this world of illusions while fulfilling their personal needs. David explained that our belief in reciprocity creates the illusion that giving and receiving are opposite actions. In reality, they are the same because we are all interconnected, loved and protected as an idea in the mind of God. These gatherings took place during the first three weekends of April 2026 and featured teachings, films, music, panel discussions, and live Q&A sessions with David Hoffmeister. Make Mental Health Matter with Kelli Melissa Reinhardt: Your Soul’s Blueprint with Jennifer Clair
Your Soul’s Blueprint with Jennifer Clair On this episode of the Make Mental Health Matter Show, host Kelli Melissa Reinhardt has special guest Jennifer Clair. Little bit about Jennifer’s story from her: I practice Evolutionary Astrology because it fosters deep self-understanding, validation, and clarity about one’s path. I came to this work because someone believed in me and saw my potential to make a meaningful difference. At the core, I think that’s what many of us are searching for—a sense of purpose that feels aligned, fulfilling, and inspires us to show up each day in service. Astrology wasn’t something I initially chose for myself, but when I allowed it as a possibility, the opportunity unfolded naturally. That experience taught me the importance of staying open to the unexpected and trusting where new paths may lead. When we give ourselves permission to explore beyond self-doubt and indecision, we often discover a direction that feels both meaningful and true. Short bio: Jennifer Clair is an Evolutionary Astrologer dedicated to helping individuals understand their inner landscape and align with their highest potential. Through a grounded, client-centered approach, she translates the language of the natal chart into practical insight that supports personal growth, emotional clarity, and self-awareness. Her work emphasizes astrology as a tool for meaning – offering a deeper sense of direction, purpose, and connection to one’s life path. Jennifer believes that when people understand the “why” behind their experiences, they are better equipped to navigate challenges with resilience and intention. She integrates psychological insight with evolutionary astrology to support mental and emotional well-being in a way that is both empowering and accessible. Through consultations, education, and ongoing support, Jennifer helps clients cultivate a more conscious and compassionate relationship with themselves. Paperclips & Periods Podcast with Dr. Emily Cabrera & Katie Krych: Episode 12: Gratitude
Episode 12: Gratitude even when Worry feels Present and Persistent In this episode, Dr. Emily K. Cabrera, EdD, MSN, CAGS, PMHNP-BC and Katie Krych, MSN, RN, PMHNP(c) explore what it means to notice gratitude even when worry feels present and persistent. When the mind is focused on stress, uncertainty, or “what if” thinking, it becomes easy to overlook the things that are actually supporting us day to day. Gratitude in these moments is not about ignoring worry or pretending everything is fine, but about gently widening perspective so that both concern and appreciation can exist at the same time. This conversation highlights how gratitude does not have to be complicated or profound to be meaningful. Sometimes it looks like appreciating something as simple as the color of your car because it does not show dirt as easily, which makes life feel a little more manageable. It can also look like noticing a warm cup of coffee in the morning, a quiet moment in the car, or a small window of calm during a busy day. From there, they expand into deeper forms of gratitude that often get overlooked during stress, such as appreciation for family, steady friendships, meaningful work, and a supportive social circle. These are the foundational parts of life that can fade into the background when worry takes over attention. They also discuss how worry can narrow focus, why gratitude can feel harder to access during heightened anxiety, and how intentionally noticing small and large blessings can help bring balance back into perspective. The goal is not to eliminate worry, but to create space for both reality and appreciation to coexist. This episode offers a grounded and realistic approach to gratitude that meets people where they are, especially in seasons where the mind feels full and overwhelmed. It closes with a brief reflection to help listeners identify one small and one meaningful thing they can appreciate in the present moment. That Part with Naa Yirenkyi and Verta Maloney: Coming Home to Yourself After Grief and Loss
Coming Home to Yourself After Grief and Loss with Darnese Daniels Season 2 of That Part continues with another question answered by the Black women in our lives: If you could talk about anything on a podcast, what would it be? This episode is Darnese’s answer. Darnese Daniels joins us for a conversation about grief, not just the moment of loss, but what comes after. The part no one really prepares you for. The quiet. The identity shift. The version of you that no longer exists and the one still taking shape. Verta and Naa sit with what it means to come home to yourself after grief and loss. They explore how grief changes the way you move, love, and see the world, and how, for many Black women, that process happens while everything else keeps going. From the pressure to keep holding it all together to the unspoken ways grief reshapes your sense of self, this conversation moves through loss, truth, and the slow work of becoming. Because grief does not just take something from you. It tells the truth about you. And coming home to yourself is not about going back. It is about claiming who you are now. Season 2 continues to bring new voices into the room while staying rooted in what That Part has always been. Real conversation. Cultural truth. And the things we don’t always say out loud. Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro: #665
Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #665 is an hour of dynamic, visionary acoustic improvised music played by The Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, Native flute, shruti box, mandolin, 6- and 12-string acoustic guitars, ukulele and Tibetan bowls, Bob Sherwood on piano, Craig Harris on congas and Native drum and this week’s special guest guitarist Aramis Esteves on electric and classical guitars. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in mid-April of 2026, today’s show begins with the languid, mystical raga “So Alive”, a meditative piece underpinned by Mariam’s chiming DADGAD-tuned Martin 12-string acoustic and featuring fine atmospheric electric guitar textures from Aramis. “A Tiny Whispering From The Depths Of Your Heart” continues the drone vibe with more 12-string from Mariam with languid, imaginative contributions from the ensemble over Craig’s rock steady heartbeat Native drum. Completing today’s tryptich of raga-type pieces is the gorgeously mysterious “Full Moonlight”, a compelling, moving piece that capitalizes on the themes expressed in the first two pieces, bringing the song cycle to a dramatic, concise and powerfully prayerful climax. “Shining Brightly” shakes up today’s mood, showing up as a Led Zeppelin-esque pop rock song down to Mariam’s modal melody and expressive, forward mandolin and the “riff” structure of Bob and Aramis’ Eastern-inflected unisons. The interlocked “There’s A River” and “Everyone Feel All Right” form a contemplative tone poem underpinned by Mariam’s relaxed, droning shruti box and unhurried accompaniment as Aramis puts the electric guitar aside for mellow, whispering nylon string guitar textures. Next, the band picks up Mariam’s powerful “Restonre” from the “Release” LP and converts this environmental anthem into a powerfully restrained earth prayer with a powerful vocal from Mariam accentuated by the tight, dancing framework of Mariam’s acoustic guitar and Aramis’ earthy nylon string. “Your Eyes Shine”, Mariam’s “Smooth Sailin’ Love Songs” LP standout is reimagined as a sultry ballad with a smooth, languid vocal from Mariam over a richly choreographed, varied accompaniment. We complete today’s show with an ambitious, energized take on Mariam’s “We Call In The Elements”, a multi-movement exploration if this rich, elemental piece featuring racing ukulele, tight nylon string guitar, fundamental Native drum and every-mutating, powerfully minimalist piano. Flaunt! Find Your Sparkle & Create a Life You Love After Infidelity or Betrayal with Lora Cheadle: Infidelity, Trauma & the Nervous System
Infidelity, Trauma & the Nervous System: Why Healing Is So Complex (and What Actually Works) Infidelity is rarely simple—and healing from it isn’t either. In this grounded, deeply human conversation, Lora sits down with trauma therapist Dr. Monique Thompson to explore the real complexity behind betrayal, relationships, and recovery. This is not a conversation about quick fixes, blame, or black-and-white answers. It’s about understanding what’s actually happening beneath the surface—neurologically, emotionally, and relationally. Together, they unpack how trauma lives in the body, why you can look “fine” while your nervous system is in distress, and how early experiences—even preverbal ones—shape the way we connect, react, and make decisions in relationships. They also explore the truth about infidelity: it’s not always clear-cut, it’s not always intentional in the way we think, and it’s never just about the moment it happened. Betrayal often uncovers deeper layers—identity, attachment, self-worth, and long-standing patterns that were already in motion. This episode is a powerful reminder that healing requires slowing down, tending to yourself, and getting the right support. Whether you stay, leave, or don’t yet know what you want, there is no one “right” path—only your path. If you’ve been trying to make sense of what happened, or wondering why this feels so overwhelming, this conversation will help you understand why—and what actually helps. Top 3 Takeaways Infidelity is complex and rarely black-and-white. It often reflects deeper patterns, trauma, and unmet needs that existed long before the relationship.Trauma is not just emotional—it is biological. You can appear functional on the outside while your nervous system is in a state of stress or survival.Healing requires support, not isolation. Awakening to True Happiness with David Hoffmeister: Stepping Out of the Maze of Time through Giving
“Stepping Out of the Maze of Time through Giving” In this session, David uses a mini-movie to explore the mental traps of the past and the liberating realization that we can never truly "fix" what never happened. Using the metaphor of a man traveling back into the 1960s to prevent a tragedy, David provides a deep commentary on how the ego uses "do-overs" to keep us tethered to linear time. The discussion illuminates how the past is a relentless force that resists change, yet it shows that the only way to truly escape the maze of "what if" is through the present-moment practice of giving and forgiveness. As David navigates through this gripping story of a time-traveling English teacher, we are invited to see that attempting to alter the dream only tightens its grip, while accepting the Holy Spirit’s interpretation of the present sets us free. The Biological Detour: A podcast about Cancer, Fertility, and the Path to Motherhood They tell you to fight for your life, but nobody mentions the life you were planning to start. When a diagnosis crashes into your dreams of motherhood, the world doesn't just stop—it shifts. Today on Her Health Compass, we’re talking about something that many people don’t realize cancer can take from patients: their fertility. What does it mean to navigate the dream of parenthood while facing a life-changing diagnosis? We’re thrilled to be joined by Suzanne Stone, CEO of the Livestrong Foundation, an organization that helps cancer patients access so many different resources, including support around fertility preservation and family planning and Shea Mencel, co-founder of We Are Here and . In this episode, we’ll hear Shea’s incredible journey, talk about why conversations around fertility are so important for cancer patients, and explore how organizations like Livestrong are helping people build families even in the face of cancer. Suzanne Stone is a graduate of Texas Christian University and a native of Louisiana. Her career began in the television industry in Dallas, earning a regional Emmy Award for her work. She eventually traded producing television for teaching it in the non-profit sector in 1998, working in public access television both in Naperville, Illinois, and then in upstate New York. After enjoying her four-year tenure as Head Coach of the local New York community college women’s basketball team while running the station, she headed back to Texas. Since arriving, she’s worked and led local non-profits around the state like Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and Children’s Miracle Network, Lake Travis Education Foundation, and Susan G. Komen Greater Central and East Texas. Continuing to look for ways to scale social impact, she joined Livestrong to lead their mission initiatives in 2019. Shea Mencel is a Co-Founder and the VP of Navigation & Impact at We Are Here, a software platform built to close critical gaps in cancer care by connecting patients and families to the right support—exactly when they need it. As a certified integrative health coach and two-time breast cancer survivor, Shea brings both lived experience and professional expertise to reimagining how care is delivered beyond the clinic. Her journey to motherhood was profoundly shaped by cancer. First diagnosed with stage II breast cancer at 29, followed by a metastatic recurrence at 32, Shea faced the loss of her ability to carry a pregnancy- completely redefining her path to family. Through embryo preservation and ultimately growing her family with the help of a gestational carrier, she experienced firsthand the emotional complexity of fertility after cancer - the grief, uncertainty, and hope that coexist in this journey.

Flaunt! Find Your Sparkle & Create a Life You Love After Infidelity or Betrayal with Lora Cheadle: Why He Can’t Stop
Why He Can’t Stop: The Truth About Porn Addiction, Cheating & Compulsive Behavior in Relationships You keep asking the same question: Why does he keep doing this—even when he knows it hurts me? In this eye-opening episode, Lora sits down with former Buddhist monk and addiction expert Jeremy Lipkowitz to unpack the real reasons behind compulsive behaviors like porn use, cheating, and addiction. This conversation goes far beyond surface-level answers. Together, they explore how addictive behaviors form, why they aren’t about you, and what true recovery actually requires. If you’ve ever felt confused, hurt, or stuck trying to understand your partner’s behavior—this episode will bring clarity, validation, and a new way forward. Top 3 Takeaways It’s not about you—it’s a coping mechanism. Most addictive behaviors begin early and are rooted in emotional regulation, not love, attraction, or relationship satisfaction. Addiction is about pain, not pleasure. The real question isn’t “Why the addiction?”—it’s “What pain is being avoided?” Healing requires addressing the root, not just stopping the behavior. You can’t shame someone into change—but you can create awareness. True transformation happens through self-awareness, accountability, and building a life that no longer needs escape. Pull Quotes "Addiction isn’t about wanting more pleasure—it’s about trying to escape a life that doesn’t feel good.” About Jeremy Jeremy Lipkowitz is a former Buddhist monk, meditation teacher, and ICF-certified executive coach who helps high-achieving men break free from compulsive behaviors—especially porn addiction—and build lives of integrity, discipline, and deep fulfillment. With over 13 years of meditation experience and hundreds of days spent in silent retreat, Jeremy blends ancient wisdom with cutting-edge science to guide individuals toward emotional resilience and personal freedom. A former genetic researcher who earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Genetics & Genomics and pursued a PhD at Duke University, Jeremy left academia after confronting his own struggles with addiction, shame, and self-judgment. A brief period of monastic training in Myanmar deepened his mindfulness practice and marked the start of a lifelong commitment to personal growth and service. As the founder of Unhooked Academy and host of the Unhooked Podcast, Jeremy is a leading voice in destigmatizing porn addiction and educating the public on effective, science-based recovery strategies. His work helps men overcome shame, understand the neuroscience of addiction, and create lasting transformation through mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and habit change. For over a decade, Jeremy has taught at universities, recovery centers, and global companies across the U.S. and Asia. His calm, grounded presence and ability to bridge analytical thinking with inner work make him a sought-after guide for professionals and executives looking to reclaim their lives from digital distractions and self-sabotaging patterns. Credentials & Training: CPCC, Co-Active Training Institute ACC, International Coaching Federation (ICF) Certified Teacher, Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute (SIYLI – developed at Google) The Turning Point After years of outward success—academic achievements, career accomplishments, and global recognition—I still felt a deep sense of emptiness and disconnection. Behind the polished exterior, I was battling a compulsive porn habit, struggling with shame, and silently wondering what was wrong with me. Eventually, I hit a breaking point. I left my PhD program, became a Buddhist monk, and began a deep inner journey of healing and transformation. Now, as a mindfulness-based executive coach and founder of Unhooked Academy, I help high-achieving men reclaim their focus, integrity, and sense of self. Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro: #663
Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #663 is an hour of inspired, intrepid, visionary acoustic improvised music by The Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, Native flute, 4- and 8-string ukulele, acoustic guitar, Celtic harp, dulcimer and mandolin, Bob Sherwood on piano and dulcimer and Craig Harris on congas and Native drum. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts at the very end of March 2026, today’s show begins with the powerful, affecting immigrant song “Standing Strong In Front Of The World”, a deep, inspiring prayer that features a soaring Native flute and voice dialog from Mariam and rich, imaginative piano from Bob. Mariam’s chiming, evocative 8-string ukulele forms a rich framework for “Oh, The Queen Moon”, a starry, mesmerizing reel with a beautiful vocal from Mariam over slowly unwinding minimalist piano polyrhythms. “Smile” is the band’s favorite raga, a forest rock song by Mariam from the “For The Children” LP driven powerfully by Craig’s throbbing Native drum and Mariam’s racing, ancient-soiunding dulcimer and “Rainbow In The Sky” is a fantastical fantasy lulled by Mariam’s soaring, melancholy vocal and chiming acoustic guitar. Mariam wields her forward, jangling mandolin for the mysterious, twisting, unusual “Bring In The Beauty”, a gorgeous ballad with a deep heartbeat from Craig and druidic dancing mandolin and piano. “Do The Impossible” appropriately features Bob’s debut on the dulcimer as Mariam builds a compelling chordal framework on the mandolin and delivers a tight modal melody. “Ryalia”, from the “Release” LP is given a tight, jazzy rendition with top notch work from the whole ensemble and we conclude today’s show with “How Do You Feel”, a gentle, bittersweet gospel ballad with skipping, childlike piano, a pretty, expressive melody and Mariam’s overtone-producing double flute framing an innovative, touching arrangement. Midlife Love Out Loud with Junie Moon: Existential Kink and Shadow Work in Midlife Love
Existential Kink and Shadow Work in Midlife Love What if the painful patterns in your love life are not random? What if some hidden part of you is actually attached to the very thing you say you do not want? In this powerful conversation, Junie sits down with Dr. Carolyn Lovewell, also known as Carolyn Elliott, author of Existential Kink. Together they explore shadow work, unconscious desire, spiritual transformation, and how embracing what we resist can dissolve long standing relationship patterns. Carolyn shares how she uncovered an unconscious desire for obsessive love inside an unhealthy relationship and how fully owning that desire allowed her to walk away in freedom. The conversation dives into the body, the divine, irritation, pleasure, surrender, and the radical idea that what we resist persists and what we love changes. This episode is for anyone repeating painful patterns in dating or relationships and wondering why. You will learn: What the shadow really is and how unconscious desires shape your love life • How existential kink differs from traditional shadow work • Why resisting painful experiences keeps them in place • How changing the meaning of an experience can shift your reality • What it means to move from duality into wholeness • How embodiment transforms personal growth beyond “neck up” mindset work This is a conversation about power, surrender, and reclaiming your full self in midlife and beyond. Dr. Carolyn Lovewell is the author of the best-selling book that rocked the coaching and personal development world, Existential Kink: unmask your shadow and embrace your power. She's also the co-founder of the world's only operating initiatory school in the Western Esoteric Tradition, Sleep Over Mystery School. Dr. Lovewell earned her doctorate in Critical and Cultural Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. Paperclips & Periods Podcast with Dr. Emily Cabrera & Katie Krych: Burden of Being Reliable
Episode 10: The Burden of Being Reliable In this episode, Dr. Emily K. Cabrera, EdD, MSN, CAGS, PMHNP-BC and Katie Krych, MSN, RN, PMHNP(c) talk about what happens when being the dependable one stops feeling like a strength and starts feeling like a trap. They explore how women often step into the role of the reliable friend, partner, parent, and colleague—not always by choice, but because someone had to, and they were the ones who showed up. Layered on top of that is the mental load—the invisible, relentless work of remembering, planning, organizing, and anticipating the needs of everyone around them, while their own needs quietly fall to the bottom of the list. From scheduling appointments and managing the household to making decisions at work and showing up emotionally for everyone in their circle, the mental load rarely gets acknowledged and almost never gets shared. Over time, that weight combined with the constant pressure to be the one with all the answers turns exhaustion into resentment. The hosts discuss how that slow burn shows up in relationships, parenting, and professional life, and why women so often suffer in silence before they ever say enough. The episode includes honest conversation about naming the mental load for what it is, recognizing resentment before it reaches a breaking point, setting boundaries without guilt, asking for help without over-explaining, and giving yourself permission to put down what was never yours to carry alone. It closes with a box breathing exercise and a reminder that being reliable should never come at the cost of your own peace. Paperclips & Periods airs on Dreamvisions 7 Radio Network and supports Dual Minds Integrative Psychiatry, promoting emotional well-being and whole-person care. Seek Reality with Roberta Grimes: Near-Death Experiences, Astral Travel
Jacob Cooper on Near-Death Experiences, Astral Travel, and the Wisdom of Jacob’s Ladder Near-death experiences have become more of a problem for us, simply because they often confuse so many people. They can feel so extraordinary that some people who have them, not our guest today of course, but some recent experiencers actually think they must have died and then come back to life! And IANDS, the International Association for Near-Death Studies, used to police pretty carefully what people said at their conferences; but not so much anymore. So we are going to have to say here just quickly once again that death is ALWAYS a one-way trip! And NEAR-death experiences are instances of spontaneous, out-of-body travel into the astral plane, usually when for one reason or another, the material body is briefly unable to support life. And when that happens, and we suddenly find ourselves awake and aware in the astral plane, which is an entirely different environment from the earth, although oddly it’s very earthlike and with a love-drenched atmosphere, our spirit guides will often give us weird and amazing experiences that are educational, and are meant for us alone. And then, of course we come back into our body, and we wake up. So, what can we assume but that we died and came back to life? But in fact, such a round trip to the afterlife is impossible, because the definition of death is the severing of the energy cord from your energy body to your material body that keeps your material body alive when you astral travel. And in fact, many of us astral travel nearly every night while our bodies sleep. That silver cord cannot be re-attached once it breaks. So, if some living person is able to tell you their NDE story, that person never has actually died! And they never have been to where the dead go. All of that being said, near-death experiences can be amazing, and many of them are life-transforming. And our guest today had his first transformative near-death experience when he was only three years old! Jacob Cooper is with us today for the sixth time. His first book was entitled Life After Breath, and it begins with his remarkable near-death experience at the age of only three. His second book, called The Wisdom of Jacob’s Ladder, talks about his many further extraordinary spiritual experiences, and what he has learned from them. We have really loved having Jacob Cooper as our guest on Seek Reality, and we are delighted to have him back today! Learn more about Roberta here: http://robertagrimes.comhttps://seekreality.com/
