Hannah Fox joins David and Sue to talk about Melbourne’s newest festival which sadly did not début in 2020, as planned, but is looking forward to 2021 with even bigger ideas for both artists and audiences.  Taking the place of the Melbourne International Arts Festival and White Night Melbourne, RISING is a major cultural event for the Asia Pacific Region created by a diverse team of local, national and international artists and curators. It was an ominous Friday the 13th when this episode of Friday Drive was broadcast. The theme of the show was music from films with “guess that film” and an interview with MQFF Program Director Spiro Economopoulos being highlights. But The Virus, Covid-19, was also flexing its muscles. Three days after this show went to air the MQFF was suspended. And this was the last Friday Drive for some time with all the team together in the studio. That includes the podcaster who has prepared this at home in the study. All the fun but, apologies, not the usual standard podcast sound quality.
