As followers of Jesus it can be scary to share our faith. Pastor Howard Davenport encourages us to see how our fear/panic/terror or feelings of inadequacy should not stop us speaking about God. That is because, God saves people, not us! We just need to do our best at being obedient.

When Jesus visits the temple as a boy, his parents need to remember that Jesus is part of the Father's plan. As parents they need to start joining the dots.

This happened during the Festival of Unleavened Bread. 4 After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover. 5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him. 6 The night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance. 7 Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. Some faithful followers of the Lord buried Stephen and mourned very much for him. At that time the church in Jerusalem suffered terribly. He went from house to house, arresting men and women and putting them in jail. 4 The Lord's followers who had been scattered went from place to place, telling the good news.

Paul and Barnabas wen't back to the cities where they had faced enormous danger. Sometimes God calls us back into the fire we have just escaped. The first available episode of Paul and Barnabus's first missionary journey. Acts 13:4-13 NIV 4 The two of them, sent on their way by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and sailed from there to Cyprus. 5 When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. John was with them as their helper. 6 They traveled through the whole island until they came to Paphos. There they met a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus, 7 who was an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God. 8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from the faith. 9 Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked straight at Elymas and said, 10 “You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right!
