    No Shame Here.

In this final episode of Equipped to Rebuild, Pastor Van wraps up the series with the theme “No Shame Here” from 2 Timothy 2:15. Looking back on the journey through the images of the soldier, athlete, farmer, and worker, this episode calls us to present ourselves to God as faithful, unashamed workers in His Kingdom. As Willamette steps into its next chapter, we are invited to walk on both legs of discipleship: serving and spiritual formation. The rebuilding begins in us as we grow in Christ, serve with purpose, and take our next faithful step.

Week 3: Equipped to Rebuild Live Recording (May 13, 2026)

This session focused on how our unique gifts, passions, personalities, and thinking styles can work together as part of the body of Christ.Through teaching, table discussion, and a hands-on team challenge, we looked at the importance of understanding how God has wired us — not so we can simply know ourselves better, but so we can serve more faithfully, work together more effectively, and take our next step with clarity. This session also helped participants continue filling out their Personal Mission Map, identifying the ways God may be preparing them to contribute to the rebuilding work ahead.Key themes:Spiritual gifts, teamwork, calling, thinking styles, serving the body, and discovering your next step.

EPISODE 3 of 4: What The Future Holds

In Episode 3 of Equipped to Rebuild: Follow Up and Forward Motion, Pastor Van and Larry reflect on Session 3’s focus on Paul’s image of the hardworking farmer in 2 Timothy 2. They unpack how spiritual growth and ministry fruit require hidden work, patience through seasons, and dependence on God for the growth. The episode also revisits the tennis ball challenge, where teams experienced the value and frustration of working with different thinking styles: grinders, minders, keepers, finders, and conceivers. Through creative problem-solving, loopholes, teamwork, and the temptation to “just do it alone,” the challenge became a picture of why shared ministry is harder but healthier. The episode closes by helping participants prepare for the final session by filling out their Personal Mission Map with as much information as possible, including their mission statement, spiritual gifts, natural gifts, temperament, thinking spectrum, Enneagram, strengths, skills, abilities, passions, burdens, and next faithful step.

EPISODE 2 of 4 | Why We Do What We Do

In Episode 02 of Follow Up and Forward Motion, Van and Larry revisit the second night of Equipped to Rebuild, focusing on Paul’s image of the athlete in 2 Timothy 2. Together they explore what it means to run the race God has marked out for us, why training is more about consistency than intensity, and how our passions can become clues to our God-given design. This episode also helps listeners take the next step in their Personal Mission Map by paying attention to what makes them mad, glad, and sad.

WEEK 1: Equipped to Rebuild (live recording with video)

Night One: Learning to Reflect, Not Just ReceiveWhat if spiritual growth isn’t about getting more answers—but learning how to think with God? In Night One, we step into Paul’s challenge to Timothy in Second Epistle to Timothy 2:7 and discover that real insight doesn’t come from rushing—it comes from reflection. Through the images of a soldier, an athlete, and a farmer, we explore how God forms us not just by what we hear, but by what we’re willing to sit with. This night sets the foundation for becoming people who don’t just receive truth—but are shaped by it.
