I have been a catholic chorister here in Nigerian for years now, and this song is no doubt one of my favorite Nigerian Catholic hymn. There are so many things to be loved about the song, but the lyrics is what I love the most. For me, it is simply a song with deep message, and I guess it will be same for every Christian who comes across it. The word "Obi na aso m" is Igbo language, and it can be translated to mean my heart is filled with. My heart is indeed feeld with joy, and that is why I have chosen this very song for this week's contest. I do not know if you too are happy, but I do not think you should be sad if you have a God as living as our God. The Obinasom simply reminds us of the ever loving nature of God, the fact that he loves us irrespective of our unfaithful. He loves us so much that he gave his own life for us. It is originally an Afro-beat song, and so it is suppose to be lively and danceable; but the idea to create something different. We all need Christ in our life, he is the only one capable of helping out of any limitation we might have found ourselves. Another reason why I choose this song is the fact that we are in the season of our Lord's passion. It is the season of lent, and the meaning and important of the cross in this season cannot be overemphasized. And so, this is reminded to every Christian in the house that we need God.
