It is a simple song of prayer that we sing in our church during the "Prayer of the Faithful"; a simple song with a great message. In summary, the song is a prayer to God not to forsake us. He is the one who understands our situation the most, and He is the one who knows how best to help us. That is simply the summary of the song—a petition to God to come to our aid. This is a new beginning, and many of us must have entered the week with so many challenges. I simply pray, as I perform, that God might help every one of us out of that which bothers us, and that we may experience the peace of God which goes beyond all understanding. Today is Trinity Sunday, a great celebration in the Catholic Church. This very song was used today by my choir for the entrance, and I, for some reason, just felt the need to perform it myself. It will be the first time I will be performing a solo here on Hive in a long time; I have been performing with my keyboard for some time now. The song I have chosen to perform in honor of Trinity Sunday is "Holy, Holy, Holy" by John Bacchus Dykes. It is an ancient hymn of praise to the Trinity, and I have chosen to perform it with a simple accompaniment I downloaded. It will be quite solemn, and I hope you enjoy it. I made this video quite a while ago, but decided that I would not post it simply because I thought it was not perfect. However, I had a change of heart at some point. I have been into music for a long time now, but I have never been good with lyrics. I know friends who could come up with beautiful lyrics right on the spot, but it is just not what I am good at. At some point, I took it as a challenge. I started making gospel freestyles and posting them here on Hive. All the while, it has been going well, but I am not perfect yet. Or probably, I am not yet as good as I wish to become. I have performed freestyles that are better than this in the past. Just like I said, this is probably the worst music video I have ever published here on Hive. Yet, I have decided to post it as I consider it part of my journey. After all, it has not been a perfect journey. There have been so many re-recordings, edits, and sometimes, changes to the intended post; but in all, we kept on making attempts to become better. I ask then, that you consider this post my imperfect attempt. The lyrics were not previously intended, but they ended up speaking of the loving nature of God and the fact that we are completely dependent on His love. The lyrics are indeed beautiful; though they were not organized, they are beautiful. Though I have my reservations about the message I think the song might be trying to convey, I love the song so much for some reason. The song I will be performing today is "People" by Libianca. But I think I will end up performing an entirely different song in the long run. That notwithstanding, this inspired my performance today, and whatever I am doing is a freestyle of the song. The song I will be performing today is originally a very lively, fast-paced Afro highlife tune, the type that will make you dance like never before, but I have done something unique with this song. This week started really busy for me, but I have made up my mind to keep up with Hive, come what may, and that I must do. For this week, I have chosen to perform a very amazing gospel song. The song I will be performing today is titled "You Have Shown Me Mercy" by Yadah. For some reason, this song has been ringing in my head this whole week, and I have eventually decided to perform it.
