The Myth of the Conflict between Science and Faith

The idea that science is necessarily at odds with faith is so deeply ensconced in the minds of Westerners that it is almost impossible to convince the average person that it is not so. Yet, historians of science know that the whole narrative is fabricated. In the late 19th century two men wrote books advancing this myth, which had been brewing for a couple of centuries. The spirit of the age at the turn of the century was delusionally optimistic about the ability of man, free from constraints of religion, to solve poverty, end wars, and usher in a utopia fit for John Lennon’s song, Imagine. The problem, however, is that without the foundational beliefs of religion, especially Christianity, science cannot be done. In this video, Mark and Jeff discuss the myth and expose it for what it is.Want to reach out, ask a question, or request a speaking event? Visit my website at: https://apologeticsforthechurch.org/

You Can't Have a Meaningless Universe and Talk of Meaning

We’ve heard so often, “You have to find your own meaning” or maybe, “You GET to make your own meaning in life.” But many people who believe and attempt this also believe there is no inherent meaning in the universe. If we each get to find our own meaning for who we are and why we’re here, doesn’t that mean that we necessarily live in isolation from each other. How much better is the Christian truth that the universe does have a meaning and we have been given a meaning by our loving Creator!Want to reach out, ask a question, or request a speaking event? You Can't be an Accident and Talk of Dignity

A very common belief is that everything in the universe came into being by an unguided random process, including ourselves. So, humans are an accident of nature. Yet, somehow these same people also believe that we should treat others with kindness and dignity. The question is, “how do we reconcile these beliefs?” What impetus is there to treat an accident of nature with kindness and dignity?Want to reach out, ask a question, or request a speaking event? You Can’t Deny Design and Be Awed by Nature

In this episode, Mark and Jeff discuss a common contradiction–people who deny that the universe was created intentionally by an infinitely wise designer, yet want to marvel at the wonders of nature in all its complexity, beauty, and order. If this universe is an accident, then there was no intention behind it, and any appearance of design is just the result of accidental, blind processes. If that is so, why be amazed?Want to reach out, ask a question, or request a speaking event? Visit my website at: https://apologeticsforthechurch.org/

In this episode, Mark and his brilliant friend, Matt Williams, explore the positive case for Christianity. How do we argue for the truth of the Christian faith by using the positive evidence God has given in his Word and his world.Want to reach out, ask a question, or request a speaking event? Identifying Eastern Thought in Popular Self-Empowerment Works

What do all ideas that are infected with Eastern thought have in common? The erasure of the Creature/Creature Distinction. That is, every expression of Eastern thought blurs the line between our existence and essence and God’s. Each one promises that we are divine or can become divine. In this episode, Mark shares examples from self-empowerment sources to illustrate how behind them all lies a desire to be like God and to obtain His authority and power.Want to reach out, ask a question, or request a speaking event? Was this an assassination? How do we live in a world where people celebrate or grow numb to the murder of public individuals? Why Is It Important to Understand Someone's Worldview?

Many people try to evangelize by spitting out a scripted explanation of the gospel. As a result, the unbeliever often feels like he is being given a pitch for Jesus, something he did not ask for or want. In this episode, Mark and Jeff explain the value of taking the time to listen to and understand the unbeliever’s worldview so you can tailor your gospel presentation to the person’s specific questions and objections.Want to reach out, ask a question, or request a speaking event?
