Executive Summary 2024
Talking with our advisers, readers, and viewers the consensus was that a broadbrush review of the challenges facing corporate America especially members of the board and senior executives in 2024 might be a worthwhile topic of discussion. We cover current politics, economics, geopolitical and domestic issues. We do not render opinions but rather highlight the potential for these issues to impact your business. Politics: We continue with the recommendation "No politics in the workplace." The campaigns may reinforce divisiveness and possibly introduce more aggressive AI based media attack ads. Economics: Most economic indicators are heading in the right direction. The growth in consumer debt is an element to monitor and sources of refinancing should be investigated beforehand. Geopolitical: Ukraine and Middle East will continue to be areas of global concern. Russia, China, Iran and North Korea will continue to be as disruptive as possible both tactically and strategically. Domestic issues: Forget the nuances of politicking, immigration, climate and now healthcare are strategic issues that are real and demand the focused attention of leadership public and private. Now!
