1 Corinthians 15 emphasizes that the future bodily resurrection is a fundamental aspect of our Christian hope. In this study, Evangelist Gavin Williams utilizes Paul's writings in 1 Corinthians 15 to clarify the resurrection and demonstrate its relevance to our daily lives.

Matthew 7:24-27. The "Sermon on the Mount" has many contrasts; Jesus put two choices before His audience in it. In this study, Evangelist Jacob Holman focuses on the end of the Sermon and what Jesus said about two builders.

John 13 and 15. The world has many definitions of what makes a Christian. Fortunately for us, the Bible plainly records what Jesus said about how to spot a Christian. In this study, Evangelists Jacob Holman and Gavin Williams explain that it all comes down to what and who we love.

The Bible contains many promises from God. While all of them are important, some of the most significant ones are the promises He made to Abraham.

Acts 2:42. Gathering as a church is something we do frequently and often take for granted. In this study, Evangelist Jacob Holman explores what Scripture has to say about our precious assemblies - their reasons and benefits, and how we should anticipate them.

Jeremiah 35 tells the story of the Rechabites and their strict family traditions. There have been many interpretations of this story. In this study, Evangelist Gavin Williams aims to let the story explain itself.

In Psalm 14-15, David says that God surveys the world and finds no one who hasn't been corrupted by sin. Then, he says that the people of God are righteous and blameless. In this study, Evangelist Gavin Williams seeks to find how these seemingly contradictory statements of David can be true.

I John 3:11-12. The story of Cain and Abel is a familiar one. Both men were worshipping God; however, God did not find Cain's sacrifice acceptable. This led to Abel being the first person killed. In this study, Evangelist Todd Castleberry examines our choice for how we worship God.

John 10:1-21. The world is filled with various sources competing for our attention, each attempting to provide guidance and wisdom. In this study, Evangelist Gavin Williams examines John 10, where Jesus shows us that the only true path to guidance in the world is in Him.

1 Thessalonians 2:9-12. Although the Bible doesn't give us a picture of an ideal father as it does an ideal mother (Proverbs 31), it does give us partial pictures of what God wants fathers to be. In this study, Evangelist Jacob Holman examines one of the descriptions that Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 2 to help men be godly fathers.

Galatians 6:1-5. As followers of Jesus Christ, we have many responsibilities. Some of those responsibilities are to the world, but some of them are to our brethren. In this study, Evangelist Jacob Holman looks into the responsibilities we have to bear one another's burdens.

Hebrews 11 is a deep, rich passage that retells the Old Testament through the lens of Christian faith. In this study, Evangelist Gavin Williams examines the chapter as a whole to determine how we can imitate these heroes of faith.

Another study in our question-and-answer series, answering questions submitted by members at Fairview Park. In this study, Evangelists Jacob Holman and Gavin Williams answer "How do we handle imprecatory psalms in the New Covenant?" and "How do we decide what to give?"

Romans 15:1-7. Since no two minds are alike, we often experience conflict with people who think differently than we do. In this study, Evangelist Jacob Holman considers the New Testament instruction to “be of the same mind toward one another” and examines the challenges, opportunities, and results of being like-minded.

In Deuteronomy 8-10, at a time of celebration and hope for Israel after leaving Egypt, Moses speaks and reflects on his time in Israel. In this study, Evangelist Gavin Williams examines Moses' attempt to refocus the people on the proper attitude for a relationship with God.

Mark 15:37-39. In describing Jesus' death on the cross, Mark includes an amazing confession made by one of the Roman Centurions who was an eyewitness. In this study, Evangelist Gavin Williams focuses on the impact of the Centurion's words and how Mark uses him to deliver the thesis of his book.

Psalm 49. Despite recent economic hardships for some, our country continues to be an affluent one. While the wealth we enjoy is a gift from God, can we trust in it rather than in God? In this study, Evangelist Jacob Holman examines Psalm 49 to learn what it says about the folly of trusting wealth.

Colossians 3:1-5. While God knows that we live in this world, He calls us to not be of this world. In this study, Evangelist Jacob Holman looks into some warnings God gives us about worldliness so that our thinking and living are guided not by this present world but by the world to come.

1 Corinthians 3:5-9. When we think of church growth, we often think of numbers - as in numbers of people or numbers of dollars increasing. But when Scripture describes church growth, it often emphasizes spiritual growth, though it sometimes mentions numerical growth. In this study, Evangelist Jacob Holman considers a growing 1st-century church and then looks at us today as a growing 21st-century church.

2 Kings 1 details King Ahaziah's brief reign in Israel, which consisted mostly of two things: idolatry and his death. In this study, Evangelist Gavin Williams examines how God's power and love shine through during this event in the life of King Ahaziah.

As we continue our yearly theme of "What Really Matters," we consider the words of Micah. In this study, Evangelists Gavin Williams and Jacob Holman consider Micah's writings in chapter 6 regarding what the Lord seeks in us and what He requires to be His children.

While fathers are vitally important to instilling faith in children, mothers are as well. A mother has many jobs in the home. This study by Evangelist Jacob Holman considers several biblical mothers and the faith they passed on to their children.

We often think of the book of Job as a book about Job's suffering. However, chapter 28 is different from the rest of the book. In this study, Evangelist Gavin Williams examines Job 28, which, like much of the book of Job, focuses on the source and value of wisdom.

John 2:1-12. Famously, the first sign that Jesus performs in the Gospel of John is His turning water into wine in chapter 2. 1 John 5:1-5 says that “His commandments are not burdensome.” However, this doesn't mean there won't be times when it is uncomfortable. In this study, Evangelist Xavier Redmon looks into what this means and why there are times when it doesn't seem true in our walk with Christ.

Titus 3 urges Christians to refrain from speaking evil of any person. God has a standard for Christians that is different from the world's standard. In this study, Evangelist Xavier Redmon examines how we can guard our tongue to the exceptional standard set before us in scripture.

In 2 Thessalonians 2, Paul gives us stark and sometimes confusing details about the end of time. Yet, when we read this passage in its full context, it becomes encouraging and comforting. In this study, Evangelist Gavin Williams seeks to bring out the full message from the context.

Mark 7 contains two seemingly unrelated stories. First, Jesus rebukes the Pharisees for their unclean hearts, which are more focused on tradition than on God's word. Then, in a very strange interaction, Jesus calls a Gentile woman a "dog" before healing her daughter. In this study, Evangelist Gavin Williams uses the first story to help us understand the second.

Ephesians 2:1-22. When Paul describes the gospel story to the Ephesians in chapter 2, he looks at it through the lens of unity. First, the unity of former sinners with God. Then, the unity of the church, despite the divisions of the world around us. In this study, Evangelist Gavin Williams examines the unity of the church in Ephesians 2 despite the divisions in the world around us.

After a long, cold winter, spring is a season of active growth and thriving. The birds are singing, the trees are budding, the flowers are blooming, and the grass is growing. But spring is also a time for spring cleaning. In this lesson, Evangelist Jacob Holman examines the need for spiritual spring cleaning. A time to take a spiritual inventory of our lives, and clean out, tidy up, or throw away things that hinder our relationship with God.

Numbers 27 contains two stories where God intervenes to provide for people. First, for 5 poor orphan girls. Second, for Moses and Israel. In this lesson, Evangelist Gavin Williams uses these powerful stories to illustrate how and when God chooses to give. God's love is just as active today as in the times of Moses.

Exodus 18:13-27. We all know that hard work is a Godly characteristic and recognize work as a virtue rooted in Biblical principles. In this study, Evangelist Gavin Williams examines the scriptures to find that not all forms of work are commendable or beneficial. We should reflect on the quality of our efforts and seek out work that honors our values and serves a higher purpose.

What Really Matters: God Reintroduces Himself by Fairview Church of Christ

Luke 17:1-10. In a passage about forgiving and serving others, Jesus tells the distraught disciples to view themselves as lowly servants. In this lesson, Evangelist Gavin Williams looks at how Luke 17 both humbles us and offers us comfort.

2 Timothy 2:20-26. As long as we speak and live the truth as Christians, there will be controversy in our lives. In this study, Evangelist Jacob Holman considers what Scripture says about both worldly attitudes toward controversy and Christlike responses.

Although Jesus Christ came to earth as "the Prince of peace," His life here was full of controversy. Jesus knew His teachings would result in conflict and controversy. In this study, Evangelist Jacob Holman looks at who Jesus was, what His mission on earth was, and how He handled controversy.

Luke 1-2. The birth of Jesus is one of the most important days in human history. It marks a significant turning point in the Bible story. In this study, Evangelist Gavin Williams examines the excitement the birth of Christ brought to Elizabeth, Mary, Simeon, and Anna.

James 3-4. As we continue through the wisdom literature in 2026, these books have a lot to say about how we talk. In this study, Evangelist Gavin Williams explores how James illustrates that our words reflect our hearts, whether positively or negatively.

Hebrews 10:36. At times in our lives, we all feel drained. We all reach the point where we think we can't put one foot in front of the other. It is at these times that we need endurance.
