In the end, the house built on sand is swept away by the elements, while the house built on rock stands firm, withstanding any storm. Jesus' message is clear: true wisdom leads us to build our lives on the unshakable foundation of Christ, not on fleeting foundations that will inevitably lead to ruin.

Now that summer has officially arrived, many are excited and plan to make the most sunny weather. As we spend more time outdoors, the effects of prolonged sunlight become visible, be it through tans, highlights in the hair, improved mood, and internal benefits from more vitamin D. In the same way effects being in the sun should be visible in our lives, having an intimate relationship with God’s son ought to produce outward signs as well. When you see the logo for your favourite chain restaurant, you could be any where in the world but you know that if you walk through those doors, you’ll still be able to get your favourite foods just as you like them. People from all over the world, despite our different cultures and appearances, have access to the same grace, love, and power through Jesus. Will we be a source of His love and power? In school, when a student has a year without any absences, they can be recognized for their perfect attendance. That recognition, however, is not a reflection of their test scores or the quality of their homework. God is looking to use those who are faithful. Jump back into Live in the Light, where we continue in Matthew 6. Pastor Robbie teaches that what we prioritize will ultimately determine the path of our lives. Pursuing goals that are temporal or physical are not necessarily wrong, but they must not be placed above those that are spiritual. God's word instructs us to seek first his Kingdom and his righteousness because that is where God's promises to his people are fulfilled. It is where the antidote to anxiety and the place of blessing, peace and joy is found!

In 1 Peter 2:17 it says Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. Honor is clearly meant to be a prevalent part of our lives but what does the practical application of that look like everyday? Is it just a matter of words, or action? We’ll learn more today with Ian Cameron.
