Ranking My Top 3 Fictional Boyfriends 👑 | Milestone Episode

Welcome back to Fictional Analysis! 🎙️ I am your host, Kajal. First, a massive thank you to our 107 listeners for helping the podcast grow globally—we even recently ranked #60 on the charts in Ghana! Since my Audit and Finance semester exams are taking up all my time this week, I am giving my brain a much-needed break from studying. Instead of a regular review, we are doing something incredibly fun today: ranking my top 3 all-time favorite fictional book boyfriends! In this episode, we break down:#3 Dante Russo (King of Wrath by Ana Huang): Dante is an Italian billionaire who is forced into marrying Vivian due to her father's blackmail. Despite vowing never to fall in love, he ultimately chooses her over his revenge. I absolutely love his protective, possessive nature. #2 Nikolai Sokolov (God of Fury by Rina Kent): Nikolai is pure chaos, hilarious, and completely unhinged. I love that he relentlessly pursued Brandon and never gave up on him. The ending perfectly showcased his dangerous mafia side, proving he will always protect his lotus flower. #1 Alex Volkov (Twisted Love by Ana Huang): Taking the absolute number one spot is the ice-cold, genius CEO with a photographic memory. The fact that he abandoned his CEO position to go after Ava and spent an entire year trying to win her back makes him unmatched. Plus, his banter with Jules is hilarious! 🚨 Special Announcements:Bonus Episode: To celebrate hitting 100 listeners, I am planning a special bonus episode that will drop after my exams finish up past the 15th! My First Alien Romance Review 👽 | The Zodiac Bride Series

Welcome back to Fictional Analysis! 🎙️I am your host, Kajal. Today, we are shifting gears completely. I usually stick to mafia or college romance, but today I am reviewing my very first alien romance series! In this episode, we break down books 1 and 2 of The Zodiac Bride series by Laetitia Aldin:The World-Building: In this universe, human experiments created animal-human hybrid species across different planets based on the twelve zodiac signs. Thousands of years later, severe infertility hits these planets, and the authorities discover these humanoids can only reproduce with human females. Book 1: Taurus (Ghauro & Melanie): Melanie is sent from Earth due to accumulated debts and crimes. To clear her name and earn money for her sick grandmother, she agrees to marry Ghauro—a green, horned humanoid with a bull-like tail. While it starts as a transaction, Ghauro falls first. But even after falling in love, Melanie faces the ultimate dilemma: staying with Ghauro or returning to Earth to care for her grandmother. Book 2: Gemini (Nitochi, Baelor & Wendy): This one features a MFM twin-soul romance where twin brothers share the same bride. Nitochi is pure darkness (stronger at night), while Baelor is pure white (stronger during the day). They team up to rescue Wendy, a human female kidnapped by a wealthy villain named Alessio. After a massive explosion during the final battle, the brothers have to find their way back to a happily ever after. The Critique: As a newcomer to sci-fi romance, I found the concept fascinating. However, both novellas lacked a solid, deep plot—everything happened just a bit too easily. Given that the entire series revolves around solving an infertility crisis, I really think the endings should have been more elaborate and included a pregnancy announcement. The Verdict: I am rating these novellas a 3.5 out of 5 stars. It is a decent entry point if you are brand new to alien romance! Mentioned in this episode:Books: Taurus & Gemini (The Zodiac Bride Series) by Laetitia Aldin Tropes: Sci-Fi Romance, Arranged Marriage, Forced Proximity, MFM Romance I need your help! 🆘I would appreciate it if you could recommend some spicy and exciting novels to me for next week's review. Under the Albanian Sun by Eva Winners (Review) | Age Gap Mafia Romance

Welcome back to Fictional Analysis! 🎙️I am your host, Kajal. 🚨 Special Announcement: Please do not forget to check out my newly published book, From Confirmation to Campus! It is available in both ebook and paperback formats, and there is a sample you can read right now. I would really appreciate it if you could read it and leave a review! The link is in the description. In this episode, we break down:The Setup: Today we are reviewing a mafia romance titled Under the Albanian Sun, which is the first book in the Under series by Eva Winners. It features an age gap romance between Kian Cortes, who is in his early forties, and Sophie Baldwin, who is around thirty. The Characters: Kian inherited leadership of both the Albanian mafia and the Brazilian cartel from his parents. Sophie is a gynecologist from New York. I really liked how dedicated and responsible she was toward her profession. The Messy Backstory: Sophie's cousin, Kristoff, had a wife named Jacqueline. Jacqueline had an affair with Kristoff's best friend, Jonathan, leading to a pregnancy and a divorce. Bizarrely, Sophie ends up getting together with Jonathan years later while he is trying to leave a very crazy Jacqueline. The Conflict: After Jonathan tragically dies in a car accident with Sophie, she spends months blaming herself. She tries to investigate the accident but is threatened by Jacqueline. To keep her family safe, Sophie flees the states and ends up in Albania. The Romance: Kristoff tells Kian to look after his cousin. And the hero and heroine strike a deal: Kian will eliminate the threat if Sophie spends the summer with him. They slowly start to develop feelings for each other before Sophie is kidnapped. The Critique: I thought the book was decent, but not extraordinary. I was incredibly frustrated by Sophie's decision to be with Jonathan after he betrayed her cousin. Additionally, Jacqueline was not a strong enough character to be a compelling villain, making her role in the story feel pointless. The final fight scene was also quite uninteresting. The Verdict: Overall, the story was just okay, earning a 3 out of 5 stars from me. There is a huge revelation at the end, so you will have to read the book to find out if Kian saves her in time! Mentioned in this episode:Book: Under the Albanian Sun by Eva Winners My Book: From Confirmation to Campus I need your help! 🆘I would appreciate it if you could recommend some spicy and exciting novels to me for next week's review. The Enemies-to-Lovers Business Rivalry 🧐 | King of Gluttony Review

Welcome back to Fictional Analysis! 🎙️I am your host, Kajal. 🚨 Special Announcement: My debut novella, From Confirmation to Campus, is officially published and available on Amazon! This book is incredibly close to my heart, and it would mean the world to me if you grabbed a copy and left a review. You can find the link right here in the description. In this episode, we break down:The Setup: Today, we are reviewing King of Gluttony, the highly anticipated sixth book in the King of Sins series by multi-million bestselling author Ana Huang. The Cultural Representation: I was so giddy reading this because the female lead, Maya Singh, is Indian! Ana Huang beautifully wove our culture into the story, from Maya and her Nani eating dosa with chai, to everyone wearing lehengas for a cousin's wedding, and even including the song "Maula Mere Maula" in the official playlist. Hearing her mother say "are baap re" just felt so homely and amusing. The Plot & The Rivalry: Maya and Sebastian Laurent are childhood rivals whose fathers have been best friends for decades. After attending the same boarding school and college, their fathers force them to collaborate on a massive business venture blending luxury restaurants with frozen food. Of course, forced proximity leads to them crossing the line from enemies to lovers. The Conflict: Just as they plan to announce their relationship, their fathers have a massive fight and forbid the families from seeing each other. We also see Sebastian deal with past trauma triggered during their business launch. Character Deep Dive: I absolutely loved their healthy rivalry and playful banter. Sebastian is a joker, but he protects Maya (even from a snake!) and comforts her with her favorite chocolate. Maya is fiercely competitive, though she rarely beats him. The Cameos: Long-time readers will be thrilled to see appearances from Vivian and Dante, Kia and Isabella, Vuk and Ayana, plus glimpses of Alex Volkov and Christian Harper! The Verdict: I have absolutely zero complaints about this one. It is a flawless 5 out of 5 stars from me! Mentioned in this episode:Book: King of Gluttony by Ana Huang My Book: From Confirmation to Campus (Available on Amazon! ) I need your help! 🆘I would appreciate it if you could recommend some spicy and exciting novels to me for next week's review. Hunt the Villain by Rina Kent (Review Part 2) | MM Mafia Romance

Welcome back to Fictional Analysis! 🎙️I am your host, Kajal. Today is the day for Part 2 of our Hunt the Villain review. I finally finished the book, and the ride with Vaughn and Yulian was hilarious, emotional, and loving. In this episode, we break down:The Cave Revealed: We finally uncover what happened in the jungle four years ago. Vaughn didn't abandon Yulian; he was pushed away by Yulian's mother to protect Yulian from his own abusive father. Private Jets & Possessiveness: We explore Vaughn's extreme jealousy and the secret life he leads, flying by private jet from New York to London every Friday just to see Yulian. The Kidnapping: The stakes get incredibly high when Yulian's father spots them together and has Yulian kidnapped and badly beaten. Later, Yulian even risks his own freedom, agreeing to an arranged marriage to save his sister. Character Deep Dive: I analyze why Vaughn, the prim and proper boy, and Yulian, the chaotic and funny boy, are the perfect "opposites attract" couple. Yulian's best trait is that he never gave up on Vaughn, even when Vaughn pushed him away out of fear. The Rina-verse: I absolutely love Rina Kent's universe! We get glimpses of past couples like Kirill and Alexandra, and I highly recommend diving into her other books, especially God of Fury featuring Nikolai and Brandon. The Verdict: The plot was interesting, spicy, and romantic, earning a massive 5 out of 5 stars from me. Mentioned in this episode:Book: Hunt the Villain by Rina Kent Other Series Mentioned: Legacy of Gods, Lies and Truths Duet, Thorne Duet, Deception Trilogy, Monster Trilogy, and Royal Elite I need your help! 🆘I would appreciate it if you could recommend some spicy and exciting novels to me for next week's review. Hunt the Villain by Rina Kent (Review Part 1) | MM Mafia Romance

Welcome back to Fictional Analysis! 🎙️I am your host, Kajal. Today, we are diving into a real mafia romance—one that actually delivers on the action, fighting, and authentic mafia tactics. In this episode, we break down:The Setup: We are looking at the first 16 chapters of Hunt the Villain by Rina Kent. This is the second book in the Villain series and a second-generation MM romance. I haven't finished the whole book yet because I have been so busy writing my own novel, but I had to talk about this beginning! The Characters: We meet Vaughn Morozov, the prim and proper heir to the New York Bratva, and Yulian Dimitriev, the chaotic heir to the rival Chicago Bratva. The Mafia Summer Camp: The boys are forced to attend a mafia summer camp where they are ambushed in the jungle. Yulian takes a bullet trying to save Vaughn, and they hide in a cave. We still don't know exactly what happened in that cave, but it ended with Vaughn running away and leaving Yulian behind. The Present Day: Years later, Yulian is out for revenge and hell-bent on making Vaughn's life miserable. He even exposes Vaughn's cheating girlfriend to try and force Vaughn to transfer from Columbia to his college in the UK. Author Spotlight: This is my first time reviewing Rina Kent, and I highly recommend her if you want top-tier mafia and college romance stories. Mentioned in this episode:Book: Hunt the Villain by Rina Kent (Chapters 1-16) Tropes: MM Romance, Mafia Romance, Enemies to Lovers I need your help! 🆘I would appreciate it if you could recommend some spicy and exciting novels to me for next week's review. Born into Obsession by Sonja Grey (Review) | Fictional Analysis

Welcome back to Fictional Analysis! 🎙️I am your host, Kajal. This week, I am back with another mafia romance review. Make sure to tap that follow button so you never miss an upload! In this episode, we break down:The Setup: This episode covers the book Born into Obsession by Sonja Grey. It is the eighth installment in the Melnikov legacy series, which is a second-generation story. The plot centers on Nikita, a Melnikov mafia hacker, and Savanna, a college student aiming to be a kindergarten teacher. The Romance: The two characters first meet at Sasha and Cynthia's wedding. It is love at first sight, though they initially feel out of each other's league. The Conflict: A man calling himself Cupid kidnaps Savanna. Nikita has to find a creative way to locate her that does not involve hacking into a system. The Critique: I enjoyed that Nikita's power is obvious without him having to yell or shout threats. However, the story ultimately lacked both spice and action. The Verdict: I am giving this book a rating of 3 out of 5 stars. It is a decent read, but it is highly recommended to read the original Melnikov series first to understand the parents' background stories.I need your help! 🆘I would appreciate it if you could recommend some spicy and exciting novels to me for next week's review.Want the link to download books for free? The Ivory by Nyla K (Review Part 4 & Final Thoughts) | Ep. 16

Welcome back to Fictional Analysis! 🎙️I am your host, Kajal. Today is the last episode covering The Ivory, and I am feeling incredibly nostalgic as we wrap up this month-long journey. In this episode, we break down:The Grand Finale & The Begging Villain: We discuss the final chapters, which felt like a beautifully long, extended epilogue. When Angel leaves, Ivory's reaction is shocking—he actually forgets his beef with Velle and gets on his knees to beg for Angel's safety. We explore how finding love completely broke down his cold, cartel-leader defenses. The Island's New Management: Ivory finally surrenders his kingdom, leaving the mansion to Velle, Joy, Rook, Felix, and Lem , while he moves to Las Vegas to start fresh with Angel. We also recap all the weddings, happy endings, and proposals! The Final Critique: While the romance was comforting, I did not hold back on my critique of the book's structure. At 905 pages , the constant, confusing timeline jumps between past and present POVs really ruined the pacing for me. I explain why a chronological order would have been much better , and how the final conflict resolution felt a bit too easy. The Verdict: Despite the timeline issues, this was a fantastic conclusion that earns a solid 4 out of 5 stars from me.Mentioned in this episode:Book: The Ivory by Nyla K (Part 4 Finale)Series: Alabaster PenitentiaryRating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I need your help! 🆘Please recommend some spicy and exciting novels to me for next week's review! The Ivory by Nyla K (Review Part 3: Chapters 31-45) | Ep. 15

Welcome back to Fictional Analysis! 🎙️I am your host, Kajal. Today, we are diving into Part 3 of our review of The Ivory by Nyla K, covering chapters 31 through 45.In this episode, we break down:The Escapes & The Lockdown: We follow Angel's wild journey from sneaking into the prison disguised as a girl, to escaping his cell thanks to Luther hacking the security systems, and a tense encounter with Ivory, where the ceiling literally falls between them. The Bird Cage: The absolute most unhinged moment of these chapters! Ivory locks Angel in a literal "bird cage"—though it happens to be the size of a room, complete with a queen-size bed, dresser, closet, and bathroom. The "Vulnerable Hero" Complex: We e been completely alone for years, build walls and act out when they finally start to catch feelings for someone. The Impending War: The tension is at an all-time high as the prisoners and officers draw battle lines. We also discuss that intense cliffhanger in Byron's chapter where Ivory's voice comes over the walkie-talkie, begging for someone to talk to him.The Good News: The confusing, overlapping timelines from the last section are completely gone, making these chapters a much smoother and more enjoyable read!.Mentioned in this episode:Book: The Ivory by Nyla K (Chapters 31-45)Series: Alabaster PenitentiaryNext week will be our final episode covering the end of this massive book, and I cannot wait to see who survives the war!I need your help! 🆘Please recommend some spicy and exciting novels to me so I have something amazing to review after this series ends.Want the link to download books for free?DM me on Instagram or LinkedIn, and I will send you the link.Thank you for listening, and stay delusional! ✨

The Ivory by Nyla K (Review Part 2) | Ep. 14 | Fictional Analysis

Welcome back to Fictional Analysis! 🎙️I am your host, Kajal. Today is the day for Part 2 of our deep dive into The Ivory by Nyla K, the final book in the Alabaster Penitentiary series. In this episode, we break down Chapters 16-30:Filling in the Blanks: While the first part focused on the island's foundation, these chapters shift to clearing up blank spaces from the previous books. We finally get to see other characters' points of view on past events.Angel's Return: We jump to three years after Angel ran from Ivory. He ends up taking a job back at the Alabaster Pen, but he goes disguised as a girl so Manuel won't recognize him.Inside Ivory's Mind: Reading Manuel's POV is fascinating; it is full of humor, rage, and a twisted sense of ownership over Velle. We also uncover the tragic catalyst for Velle breaking free of Manuel's control: the belief that Manuel sold his mother the drugs that killed her.The Critique: The single biggest problem in this section is the timelines. We get absolute whiplash jumping from the time before the first book, straight into the present timeline of the sixth book, and then back to the fourth book, all from different POVs. It makes it very difficult to remember what is happening. The Big Question: After reading Ivory's perspective, I actually feel like Velle and Manuel should have been together. What do you think? The Ivory by Nyla K (Review Part 1: Chapters 1-15) | Alabaster Penitentiary Finale

Welcome back to Fictional Analysis! 🎙️ This week, we are officially kicking off our 4-part deep dive into The Ivory by Nyla K, the final book in the Alabaster Penitentiary series. Today, we are reviewing the first 15 chapters. In this episode, we break down:The Island's Lore: We explore the cursed history of the island, the mysterious deaths of past owners, and how Manuel Blanco actually became the warden. Surprisingly, this wasn't the job Manuel originally wanted.Character Deep-Dive: Manuel Blanco: In previous books, he seemed like an invincible, controlling villain who never laughed. I was completely shocked to spy inside his mind and discover he actually jokes, laughs, and is definitely not the "top" I expected him to be in the bedroom!.Character Deep-Dive: Angel Alvarez: Angel is hell-bent on revenge after Manuel killed his parents in front of him when he was just three years old.The Critique: Angel's character motivations are incredibly confusing. He spends his life seeking vengeance, yet by chapter 15, he is sleeping with the Ivory. Also, while the deep dive into the island's past felt a bit boring at first, the spicy scenes and plot twists have me excited for what happens next.Novel Update: ✍️ I am currently writing chapter 16 of my novel!. We explore the intense relationships that develop between the inmates and sometimes the guards. The Good: The pacing, writing style, and spicy scenes are fantastic, making it a complete blockbuster series. The Critique: The books are quite long, and the intertwining timelines make it very hard to remember specific plot points from earlier books. The Verdict: A highly addictive series that earns a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars from me.Novel Update: ✍️ I have officially completed Chapter 15 of my own novel! Welcome back to Fictional Analysis! 🎙️This week, I stepped outside my usual mafia romance comfort zone to read a standalone MMF romance, and let's just say... it did not go well.In this episode, we discuss:The Setup: Lane is struggling financially and signs a mysterious resort contract to pay for her sister's college fees and aunt's medication, leading her straight to boyfriends Ajax and Calder. The Critique: This book promised extreme spice and delivered absolutely no thrill. I break down why the complete lack of romance and tension had me skipping pages just to finish it.The Verdict: A very disappointing 1.5 out of 5 stars. Is He a Mafia Boss or Just an Idiot? 📉 | The Pakhan's Secretary Review

Welcome back to Fictional Analysis! 🎙️After a long break, I am finally back to reading my comfort genre: mafia romance.🚨 Schedule Reminder: Catch new episodes every Sunday at 10:30 AM!.In this episode, we discuss:The Setup: We are looking at "The Pakhan's Secretary" by Ariana Cooper. It features the classic secretary/boss trope with Roman Sokolov and Eva Markova. Eva is in massive debt, leading to a forced marriage scenario to pay for her family's medical and tuition bills. The Good: Roman actually respects Eva's feelings, and Eva isn't afraid to speak her mind and stand up to him.The Critique: This story suffers from severe repetition. The author constantly reuses the same phrases, and Roman is so distracted by Eva that he acts like an idiot instead of a competent mafia boss dealing with his enemies. Plus, why is Natasha always crying?.The Verdict: The execution fell flat for me, earning this a 3 out of 5 stars.Mentioned in this episode:Book: The Pakhan's Secretary by Ariana Cooper Tropes: Boss x Secretary, Mafia Romance, Marriage of Convenience Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ I need your help! 🆘Please recommend some better mafia romance novels for me to read next week.Want the link to download books for free? Welcome back to Fictional Analysis! 🎙️This week, we are diving into the grand finale of the Darkest Dance series.
