119 The Release of the Spirit #17 - Chapter 9 ‘Considering the Qualities of Meekness 3: Mutually Corporate’

We continue through Chapter 9 of The Release of the Spirit, moving into Nee’s section on “Mutually Corporate,” where he shows that true Body life only becomes possible through brokenness. A person may be active in church life, deeply involved with people, and passionate about fellowship, and yet still remain inwardly closed because self is still protecting, preserving, reacting, and resisting. Nee shows that only the meek and broken can touch the shared inward life of the Body, because the released spirit becomes open to the common life of Christ flowing through His people.Alongside Nee’s teaching, we also bring in Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s warnings from Life Together about “human” community and the danger of self trying to build Christian fellowship around its own expectations, ideals, and demands. Both men expose the same root issue: self ultimately resists the Father Himself. This episode looks at spiritual sensitivity within the Body, mutual inward awareness among broken sons, and why the outward man must be dealt with if we are going to live together from the mind of the Head rather than from self. The Release of the Spirit https://dci.org.uk/zipped/ReleaseOfTheSpirit.pdfAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 118 The Release of the Spirit #16 - Chapter 9 ‘Considering the Qualities of Meekness 2: Highly Sensitive’

We continue through Chapter 9 of The Release of the Spirit, looking at spiritual receptivity and the openness that begins to appear when the outward man has truly been dealt with. Nee continues showing that a broken person becomes teachable, receptive, easy to help, and able to receive from others without resistance, defensiveness, or the constant need to protect themselves. We gather together many of the hallmarks of meekness and brokenness from these sections, and continue looking at how the Father produces openness, honesty, fellowship, spiritual sensitivity, and receptivity in sons who are learning to live from Their shared life rather than from self. The Release of the Spirit https://dci.org.uk/zipped/ReleaseOfTheSpirit.pdfAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 117 The Release of the Spirit #15 - Chapter 9 ‘Considering the Qualities of Meekness 1: Easily Approachable’

We continue through Chapter 9 of The Release of the Spirit, looking at another quality of meekness, what Nee describes as being “highly sensitive.” This section focuses on spiritual awareness, responsiveness, and the ability to recognise what is happening around us because the soul is no longer dominating everything through self interest, opinion, reaction, and independence. We talk about dullness, bulldozing ahead with our own ideas, missing what Holy Spirit is saying, and the difference between living from self awareness and living from oneness with Him. A meek son becomes receptive, aware, and responsive because Holy Spirit has worked this sensitivity into them over time through the dealings of the Father. The Release of the Spirit https://dci.org.uk/zipped/ReleaseOfTheSpirit.pdfAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 116 The Release of the Spirit #14 - Chapter 9 ‘Meekness & Brokenness’

We begin Chapter 9 of The Release of the Spirit, ‘Meekness and Brokenness’, where Nee starts looking at the qualities found in a broken person. In this first section we talk about being approachable, accessible, open to fellowship, easy to talk with, and willing to receive instruction and correction. Nee shows that when the outward man has been dealt with, people no longer encounter walls, defensiveness, distance, and self preservation every time they come near us.We also begin talking about confession, responsibility, openness with others, and what it means for a son to live openly before the Father and before people, because the self no longer needs to constantly manage its image.Quote from The Blue Letter Bible: “Meekness toward God is that disposition of spirit in which we accept His dealings with us as good, and therefore without disputing or resisting. In the OT, the meek are those wholly relying on God rather than their own strength to defend against injustice. Thus, meekness toward evil people means knowing God is permitting the injuries they inflict, that He is using them to purify His elect, and that He will deliver His elect in His time (Isa 41:17, Luk 18:1–8). Gentleness or meekness is the opposite to self assertiveness and self interest. It stems from trust in God's goodness and control over the situation. The gentle person is not occupied with self at all. This is a work of the Holy Spirit, not of the human will (Gal 5:23).”https://www.blueletterbible.org/lexicon/g4239/kjv/tr/0-1/The Release of the Spirit https://dci.org.uk/zipped/ReleaseOfTheSpirit.pdfAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 115 The Release of the Spirit #13 - Chapter 3 ‘One Law Unaffected By Prayer’

We finish Chapter 3 with something very clear. There is a law in how the Father works, and prayer does not change what He is doing. Nee brings it right down to something we can all understand, if you put your hand in the fire, you will get burned. And in the same way, if I continue in independence, holding onto what is in my hand, there are consequences to that, and I can’t pray my way out of it. So the question begins to change, from asking Him to fix things, to recognising what He is doing and why.And this brings us straight back to the same point we’ve been coming to all through this chapter, the inward man must come through the outward. If the outward man is still strong, still holding, still deciding, then what is within stays shut in, and there can be so much going on, and yet very little life. And so there comes a place where it is no longer more prayer, but agreement with Him, placing ourselves under His hand, and allowing Him to do what He has set out to do.The Release of the Spirit https://dci.org.uk/zipped/ReleaseOfTheSpirit.pdfAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 114 The Release of the Spirit #12 - Chapter 3 ‘A Broken Person Not Taught’

We stay in chapter 3 of The Release of the Spirit, with the focus on the “thing in hand,” and Nee brings in Balaam, which is very exposing. Here is a man recognised as a prophet, someone who speaks on behalf of God, and yet in this moment he cannot see what is right in front of him. The donkey stops because it sees the angel of the Lord standing in the way, and Balaam keeps going until he is forced to stop. That puts everything in the open a man with a recognised place, and yet no sight in the moment.Nee brings this straight back to the person. The “thing in hand” is something being carried that has come from ourselves, something still under our own hand, and because of that, it stands in the way of what He is doing. This reaches into leadership, where what is in hand can be treated as something to use or build with, and yet the question is whether the person themselves has been dealt with. And so there are moments where everything is brought to a halt, and through people and circumstances, what is in hand is exposed, and we are brought back to Him.The Release of the Spirit https://dci.org.uk/zipped/ReleaseOfTheSpirit.pdfAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 113 The Release of the Spirit #11 - Chapter 3 ‘The Spirit’s Use of a Broken Outward Man’

This episode continues Chapter 3 as we read further into The Release of the Spirit by Watchman Nee, and I share some very personal reflections alongside the reading. From the illustration of The World’s Strictest Parents, to real-life examples, this shows that He does not circumvent the outward man, He deals with what is coming out of you, your reactions, your decisions, your resistance. We then look more closely at the “thing in hand,” and how easy it is to believe we are doing something for Him, especially when there are visible results, and yet still be the one holding it, sustaining it, and directing it. This leads into the breaking of the will, where independence is exposed at its root, and our ability to decide apart from Him is brought to an end, so that what comes through is truly from Him.The Release of the Spirit https://dci.org.uk/zipped/ReleaseOfTheSpirit.pdfAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 112 The Release of the Spirit #10 - Chapter 3 ‘Recognising “The Thing in Hand”’

We begin Chapter 3, reading the opening section, Recognising “The Thing in Hand”, where Watchman Nee brings this into something very direct, showing that even after the outward man has been broken, what a person is already holding onto can still stand in the way. This “thing in hand” is whatever is already taking up attention, strength, and response when the Father calls. As this unfolds, he shows how this appears across the mind, the emotions, and the will, where thoughts, affections, and decisions are already occupied, leaving little capacity to respond to Him. This brings it into clear view, raising the question—what is already in your hand, and what answers first when He speaks? The Release of the Spirit https://dci.org.uk/zipped/ReleaseOfTheSpirit.pdfAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 111 The Release of the Spirit #9 - Chapter 2 ‘Dividing the Outward from the Inward’

We finish Chapter 2 today by reading the final section, Dividing the Outward from the Inward, and then I share one thought from Hebrews 4:12, where the Word of God, wielded by Holy Spirit, separates soul and spirit and exposes the true source of what is coming out of us.I open up a very personal area from my own life around the need to be seen, how that developed, and how Holy Spirit has dealt with it by bringing truth from within and separating me from what was built in my soul over many years. This is that ongoing work where He holds the self life in a place where it no longer expresses itself, and what comes through is from the inner man, joined to Him.The Release of the Spirit https://dci.org.uk/zipped/ReleaseOfTheSpirit.pdfAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 110 The Release of the Spirit #8 - Chapter 2 ‘Launching Out and Retreating’

In this episode, I read the next section of Chapter 2 from The Release of the Spirit by Watchman Nee, titled “Launching Out and Retreating,” where Nee describes the unstable pattern of advancing and withdrawing that often marks an unbroken outer man. This section is longer, so I let the reading stand on its own—trusting the One joined to you in spirit to make clear what needs to be seen and understood as you listen. The Release of the Spirit https://dci.org.uk/zipped/ReleaseOfTheSpirit.pdfAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 109 The Release of the Spirit #7 - Chapter 2 ‘Some Practical Problems’

We continue Chapter 2, opening the section Some Practical Problems. This episode looks at the gap between what can be produced through preparation, thought, and even “revelation,” and what actually carries life, drawing from both the reading and a personal story of the Lord dealing with what was built independently from Him.As this unfolds, the focus comes back to the breaking of the outward man as the first lesson in serving God, where everything we rely on is brought to nothing so that, as Paul writes, “death is at work in us… life… in you,” raising the question—what is actually being released through us?The Release of the Spirit https://dci.org.uk/zipped/ReleaseOfTheSpirit.pdfAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. We begin Chapter 2, reading the opening section, Before and After Brokenness. This episode looks at what is produced through thought and emotion, and what is released when the outward man has been dealt with, bringing a clear contrast between these two.As this unfolds, we come to the question, which spirit is it?—and the reality that His Spirit and our spirit have become one, as we see the difference between initiating something in self and joining what He is already doing, and His life coming through as the outward man is broken. The Release of the Spirit https://dci.org.uk/zipped/ReleaseOfTheSpirit.pdfAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. We continue through Chapter 1, reading The Timing in Our Brokenness and The Meaning of the Cross. This episode is split into two parts, first looking at how the Father carries out this work over time, and then what the Cross is actually doing within us.As this unfolds, it becomes clear that delay in this work affects far more than our own lives, and that the Cross is not only something that has already taken place, but something that is working within us day by day — dealing with the self life so that the spirit can come through. 105 The Release of the Spirit #3 - Chapter 1 ‘Nature Has Its Way of Breaking’

We continue through Chapter 1, moving into Nature Has Its Way of Breaking, where Watchman Nee shows that this is something God Himself undertakes through situations and circumstances over time. As we read, I reflect on recognising His hand in these moments, and how easily we can misunderstand what He is doing. This leads into some honest thoughts on prayer ministry, learning to stay with the Father and discern what He is doing in a person’s life, rather than stepping in too quickly and getting in the way of that work. We begin Chapter 1 by reading the opening sections, The Importance of Brokenness and The Inward Man and the Outward Man. As this unfolds, Watchman Nee exposes how much can be done outwardly, even with sincerity, and yet still come from the outer man, leaving the spirit shut in. I share some reflections on how much of our zeal, worship, and activity can come from that place, including the tendency to gather around people and giftings, and why we continue to look for something external when the reality of His indwelling life has already been given. This episode opens a new series working through The Release of the Spirit by Watchman Nee. 102 His Nature, My Nature #3 – ‘What Comes Out Under Pressure’

In this third episode of His Nature, My Nature, Alex takes us into one of the most revealing places of all—what actually comes out of us when pressure hits. Opening with Romans 8:35–39, the focus shifts from the idea of pressure to its purpose: not to separate us from the Father, but to expose the source we are living from. As Paul declares his deep persuasion, formed by revelation, we begin to see that pressure does not create something new—it reveals what is already within. And so the question becomes clear: when the moment comes, when there is no time to manage behaviour or present something polished, what is it that comes out?Through the contrast of Peter and Jesus, this episode brings sharp clarity to the difference between the nature of Adam and the nature of Christ under pressure. Peter speaks with certainty before the moment comes, yet denies when the cost becomes real. Jesus, fully settled in the Father, walks through the same kind of pressure in quiet agreement, with nothing to defend and nothing to protect. And then we see the turning point—Peter in Acts 2, no longer reacting from self, but speaking from a completely new source. This episode draws the line clearly: pressure reveals the nature, and the life of Christ within is the only life that can stand, discern, and go with the Father, whatever comes.Participant Guidehttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 101 His Nature, My Nature #2 - ‘He Himself Knew What Was In Human Nature’

In this episode, Alex continues the series His Nature, My Nature, building on birth determines identity. In John 2, Jesus makes it clear that He knows what is in human nature. Many believed when they saw the signs, yet no change had taken place at the level of nature. What is in man is exposed, not by behaviour alone, but by the source within. From Cain to the Pharisees to Paul, both the evil and the good sides of the same nature lead to the same outcome, because the source remains the same. This episode draws a clear line between the two natures. The old, hostile nature formed in Adam, shaped by the power of sin, and the new nature in Christ, received through new birth. The Cross did not come to improve what was already there, but to bring it to an end and establish an entirely new man. 100 His Nature, My Nature #1 — ‘Birth Determines Identity’

In this opening episode of a brand new series, Alex introduces the central reality: birth determines identity. If you are born again, then you have received a new origin, a new source, and therefore a completely new nature. Alex traces what happened in Adam, where humanity shifted into independence, self-consciousness, and separation, and contrasts that with what it means to be in Christ—where His life, His nature, and His relationship with the Father have become yours by new birth. This episode brings clarity to identity at its source, showing that what you are comes through birth, and that a new birth introduces an entirely different nature. From there, Alex sets the direction for the series. If His nature is now your nature, then the focus becomes discovering what is already within you and how that life is expressed. This episode establishes that discipleship is the development of what is already present in the new man—the life of Christ being brought into maturity and expression. As the series unfolds, Alex will look closely at Jesus—His relationship with the Father, His responses to people, pressure, and opposition—so that in seeing Him clearly, you begin to recognise what is already true of you and what Holy Spirit is bringing into full expression.Listener Guidehttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 099 Miracle of Sonship - 'Already at Home — John 14:23 and the Indwelling Godhead'

In this Conversation episode of the Focus Podcast, Alex reflects on John 14:23 and the extraordinary promise that the Father and the Son make their home within those who belong to Christ. Sharing from a recent Firm Foundation gathering and drawing on the New Covenant reality of being in Christ, the episode challenges familiar worship language that speaks of inviting God to come and visit His people. Instead, Alex explores the miracle of sonship—that through new birth we share in the Son’s own relationship with the Father and have become the very dwelling place of the Godhead. If the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit already live within and among His people, what does it mean for the way we understand His presence when we gather together? 098 🌾 IN THE FIELD – ‘Are You a Living Reproach… or a Son Taking Responsibility?’

In this ‘In the Field’ episode from Poland, we confront what happens when self is exposed. Luke 18 shows us that self can justify, self can condemn, and self can stay at the centre in both success and failure. Bonhoeffer calls it a “wish dream,” and he warns that the one who clings to it “stands adamant, a living reproach to all others in the circle of brethren.” When self refuses exposure, it blames, it accuses, and it hardens.Sons who have awakened to their sonship do something different. They recognise their flesh patterns. They see when silence is judgment and when distance is accusation. They stop pushing responsibility onto people, circumstances, or the Father, and they own what came out of them. This episode draws a clear line: will you stand adamant as a living reproach — or will you take responsibility as a son?Quote from Life Together (Dietrich Bonhoeffer) “Innumerable times a whole Christian community has broken down because it had sprung from a wish dream. The serious Christian, set down for the first time in a Christian community, is likely to bring with him a very definite idea of what Christian life together should be and to try to realize it. But God's grace speedily shatters such dreams. Just as surely as God desires to lead us to a knowledge of genuine Christian fellowship, so surely must we be overwhelmed by a great disillusionment with others, with Christians in general, and, if we are fortunate, with ourselves.“By sheer grace, God will not permit us to live even for a brief period in a dream world. He does not abandon us to those rapturous experiences and lofty moods that come over u s like a dream. God is not a God of the emotions but the God of truth. Only that fellowship which faces such dis illusionment, with all its unhappy and ugly aspects, begins to be what it should be in God's sight, begins to grasp in faith the promise that is given to it. The sooner this shock of disillusionment comes to an individual and to a community the better for both. A community which cannot bear and cannot survive such a crisis, which insists upon keeping its illusion when it should be shattered, permanently loses in that moment the promise of Christian community. Sooner or later it will collapse. Every human wish dream that is injected into the Christian community is a hindrance to genuine community and must be banished if genuine community is to survive. He who loves his dream of a community more than the Christian community itself becomes a destroyer of the latter, even though his personal intentions may be ever so honest and earnest and sacrificial.God hates visionary dreaming; it makes the dreamer proud and pretentious. The man who fashions a visionary ideal of community demands that it be realized by God, by others, and by himself. He enters the community of Christians with his demands, sets up his own law, and judges the brethren and God Himself accordingly. 097 🌾 IN THE FIELD – ‘Is This Humility … or Is It Self?’

In this ‘In the Field’ episode, I read an entry from Oswald Chambers that exposes something many believers have never questioned — how humility can actually be the voice of good self. We have been taught to admire the tax collector in Luke 18, to stay low, to stay conscious of our unworthiness, and to speak carefully about ourselves, and yet if that posture becomes your defining identity after you are in Christ, then self is still at the centre.Sons live from assurance before assignment. Sons agree with the Father about who they are in the Son. And when someone actually speaks from that place of belonging, certainty, and shared sonship, it sounds like arrogance to those still trying to be good. In this episode we expose the difference between religious humility and agreement with the Father, and we ask the question — who is really defining you?My Utmost for His Highest - https://utmost.org/updated/getting-there-2/About AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 096 Firm Foundation Lite: UNFOLDED #6 - ‘He Never Intends To Help You Live The Christian Life’

In this final Unfolded episode of Firm Foundation Lite, I stay with one thread from Monday’s session — the call to impossible living, and what it actually means to live by the life of Another. Many believers are still trying to live the Christian life from the same source that shaped life in Adam, unaware that self was never designed to carry this life. The frustration many feel is the exposure of independence, the realisation that self was never capable of living the Christian life in the first place. We look at what it means to be called by name for Himself, and why the Father never intended to help self live this life. The Christian life is not improved self, it is exchanged life. Christ as life, or self. There are only two sources. Everything else is shown to be self.Participant Guidehttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 095 Firm Foundation Lite: Session #6 — ‘Living Their Way of Life’

In this final session of Firm Foundation Lite, we gather up everything that has been opened across these weeks and bring it into the question that eventually faces every believer: how do we actually live this life we have received. From the beginning this series has pulled us back to the Father’s original desire, away from a man-centred starting point, and into His intention for sons who share in the life of His Son. Now the focus turns to the indwelling Holy Spirit, given as the One who makes Their shared life real within us, leading us beyond effort, beyond self-management, and into a life sourced in Christ Himself. This episode brings together the threads of new birth, identity, the Cross, and oneness, and places the spotlight on the life, the love, and the faith of Another lived within ordinary people who belong to the Father. The call here reaches further than activity, gifting, or outward Christianity, and brings us into a way of life where sons learn to live from the One who dwells in them. Firm Foundation Lite may be coming to a close, yet what has been opened here serves as a doorway into a lifelong maturing where the Father gains what He has always desired: sons who live unto Him, by the life of His Son, through Holy Spirit.Participant Guidehttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 094 Firm Foundation Lite: UNFOLDED #5 - ‘Two Inheritances’

In this Unfolded episode I return to something we opened up in Session 5, and I tell the story of being handed a book back in 2022 that dismantled my entire inner world, because it exposed just how self centred and me focused my Christianity had been, even while I was using all the right language and doing all the right things. Reading one chapter a day, walking the streets of a Polish city, I found myself face to face with a gospel that self could never carry, and with the realisation that my zeal, my sacrifice, my prayer life, and even my move to another nation had all been sourced by me, and not by Christ as life.As that centre was exposed, line by line, I began to see from Their viewpoint what They have always wanted, and I realised I had missed Him, missed the tree of life, and missed the glory by living from a gospel that was still about what I got out of it. In this episode I open up Ephesians 1 and sit with a very familiar passage, because alongside our inheritance in Christ there is another inheritance altogether, the Father’s inheritance in the saints, and when that begins to open up it changes how we see the Cross, discipleship, and what the gospel has always been moving toward.I read Ephesians 1:3–23 from the ESV, and then I leave you with words from DeVern Fromke’s Ultimate Intention, chapter 25, and I simply let them speak for themselves.Participant Guidehttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 093 Firm Foundation Lite: Session #5 — ‘ The Cross: What It Means For The Father’

In today’s session the focus turns fully toward the Father, as we trace the gospel back to where it truly begins, with His Eternal Purpose before Adam, before the fall, and before human need. As the story is seen from Their perspective, the Cross comes into view as far more than a solution for our sins, because it addresses the source of life inherited in Adam and brings independence to its end, making oneness with the Father possible. We explore the difference between the modern cross and the old rugged cross, and we begin to see why so much of Christianity has remained centred on my blessing, my breakthrough, and my deliverance. Drawing from Romans 6, alongside searching insights from DeVern Fromke and A.W. Tozer, this session opens up the Father’s longing to receive sons who live unto Him, whose centre has changed, and whose life flows from Christ rather than from self.Participant Guidehttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 092 Firm Foundation Lite: UNFOLDED #4 – ‘The inner battle is not between the old and the new man’

In this fourth Thursday Unfolded episode, I come back to a question many of us have lived with for years: if the old man really is dead and we truly are the new man in Christ, then why does it still feel like there is such a war going on inside of us, and why do thoughts and impulses still show up that feel anything but new. Drawing from what we’ve already opened up together in previous sessions, I return to Paul’s teaching in Romans to remind us that sin is not just behaviour, but a power, and that in Romans 5 through 8 Paul consistently speaks of sin as a noun, something active and present, rather than just something we do.As the conversation unfolds, we take a simple look at Romans 7 to see who the characters actually are in this passage, where Paul separates the new man who truly wants God from the power of sin that still operates in the body, speaking in familiar language and masquerading as the old man who is already gone. Rather than presenting an identity crisis or an endless inner tug of war, Romans 7 exposes how this power works, where it works, and why recognising it brings freedom. This episode is about seeing clearly what is happening, so we stop fighting the wrong battle and begin resting in the life we already have in Christ.Participant Guidehttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 091 Firm Foundation Lite: Session #4 — ‘ The Cross: I need deliverance from who I am’

I need the blood for forgiveness, what I have I have done, but I need the Cross to deliver me from who I am!In today’s session we open up the part of the gospel many of us were never shown, where the blood of Jesus deals with everything we have done, yet the Cross deals with the Sinner in Adam, the old man we inherited. This is where the freedom we have longed for begins to take shape, because Jesus didn’t just die for us as our Substitute, He died as us in inclusive death, bringing the Adam life to its end and revealing the new man born of the Father. We walk through Romans 6, Galatians 2:20, and Ephesians 1, and we begin to see what the Father has always desired: sons who carry His life, His nature and His spirit. This session will help you understand why trying harder never worked, and why the Cross is the Father’s only answer to who we were in Adam.Participant Guidehttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 090 Firm Foundation Lite: UNFOLDED #3 – ‘Have We Missed the Meal? Confessed-up, shut out?’

In this third Thursday Unfolded episode, I come back to something I only mentioned briefly at the end of Session 3, and that is confession and communion. For many of us, communion has become a quiet moment at the end of a service, centred around personal introspection and whether we feel clean enough or confessed-up enough to take part. But when we look again at the Passover, and at what Jesus was actually doing with His disciples the night before He was betrayed, a very different picture begins to emerge, because this was a covenant meal shared around a table, not a private religious act managed by individual conscience. In this episode, I walk through 1 Corinthians 11 to look at what Paul was really addressing in Corinth, and why his correction had nothing to do with unconfessed sin and everything to do with a divided body gathering around a shared meal. As communion is seen again as the covenant meal of the new covenant, the questions start to surface: how did the table get separated from the people, how did a family meal become a moment of fear and self-checking, and what does the way we take communion today actually say about how we see one another as the Body of Christ? You can find Nancy’s podcasts here by going to her website: https://nancymccready.com/podcast/‘Toxic Love’ by Malcolm Smithhttps://amzn.eu/d/cheJyZCParticipant Guidehttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 089 Firm Foundation Lite: Session #3 — ‘The Blood: I need forgiveness for what I’ve done’

In this third session of Firm Foundation Lite, we turn to what God Himself did in response to what was exposed through Adam. Having seen that the human problem runs deeper than behaviour, and that sin shows up both in what we do and in the power that shaped life in Adam, this session moves directly to the blood of Jesus and the purpose it was given to fulfil. The focus stays firmly on God’s action, showing where forgiveness truly belongs and why forgiveness rests fully on what He has already accomplished, rather than on anything we manage, maintain, or revisit. As the session unfolds, we see that the blood was first for God, meeting His righteous requirement and answering the accuser, and only then experienced by us. From there, confession and communion are returned to their original biblical meaning, exposing how they have often been reshaped into inward, self-referencing practices. This session brings definition to what the blood has dealt with, and places clear boundaries around its purpose, opening the way for what follows as we move from sins to God’s complete answer for who we were in Adam.Participant Guidehttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 088 Firm Foundation Lite: UNFOLDED #2 - ‘Who is your source?’

In this second Thursday Unfolded episode, I come back to one word from Session 2 that has stayed with me all week, and that word is source. Because from the very beginning, the question in the garden was always about where life would come from, and who we would be joined to. Two trees stood before humanity, representing two sources, two life systems, and two outcomes, and that same question still stands before us today as believers. In this episode, I share some very personal processing, including how God used Toxic Love by Malcolm Smith to expose just how much of my life and relationships were still being lived from the wrong source. What became clear is that fruit always reveals source, and it is entirely possible to believe all the right things and still live from independence, separation, and counterfeit love. This conversation is about recognising where life is really coming from, and what changes when Jesus truly becomes the only source of life.'Toxic Love’ by Malcolm Smithhttps://amzn.eu/d/cheJyZCAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 087 Firm Foundation Lite: Session #2 — ‘Sinner in Adam: Identity Before Behaviour’

In this second session of Firm Foundation Lite, we turn our attention to what actually went wrong when humanity entered the story. Rather than beginning with behaviour, mistakes, or moral failure, this session takes us deeper, exposing the inherited condition Scripture presents — a change of source that took place in Adam, where separation from God became the governing reality of human life. As the teaching unfolds, we see why the human problem cannot be reduced to what we do, and why forgiveness alone, while essential, was never designed to address the full depth of what happened to man. The issue is revealed as sin, not merely sins — a power shaping identity, direction, and the way life is lived.Session 2 unpacks the difference between sins and sin, showing why behaviour-focused Christianity repeatedly fails to bring lasting change, and why humanity cannot fix what it has inherited. By revisiting human design — spirit, soul, and body — we see what died in Adam, why the soul assumed control, and how life became organised around independence rather than shared life with God. This session brings clarity to why everything went wrong, and prepares the ground for the gospel’s true answer, as we move next into how the Father dealt fully and decisively with both problems through Christ.Participant Guidehttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingFeature Episode: ‘Do we have a weak gospel?’Listen on Spotify here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/71E4GC4a7C193RxRrIJglD?si=Kvq6ilZDRlChbEF5hxS21QListen on Youtube here: https://youtu.be/EJQhiIIqRksAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 085 Firm Foundation Lite: Session #1 – ‘The Eternal Purpose & The Right Starting Point’

In this opening session of Firm Foundation Lite, we begin with the Father’s Eternal Purpose — not with sin, failure, or human need, but with what was in the heart of the Father before creation itself. This session establishes why starting points determine everything, and why a man-centred beginning inevitably reshapes the gospel into something it was never meant to be. As the teaching states plainly, “IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN HIS STORY; FOR TOO LONG, IT HAS BEEN MAN’S STORY.” From this vantage point, the gospel is no longer framed around what went wrong, but around what the Father always desired — sons who live in and from the Son.Session 1 exposes how beginning with man produces a gospel centred on behaviour, effort, and improvement, and instead reorients us to seeing everything from Their perspective. We are reminded that “We do not fit Him into our lives – we fit into His life, His purposes, His plan,” and we are introduced to the shared desires of the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit — a family of sons, oneness in Christ, and a permanent dwelling place in a people. This opening session lays the foundation for the six weeks that follow, restoring the gospel to a God-centred starting point that reshapes how we understand salvation, discipleship, and life in Christ.Participant Guidehttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingFeature Episode: ‘Do we have a weak gospel?’https://open.spotify.com/episode/71E4GC4a7C193RxRrIJglD?si=Kvq6ilZDRlChbEF5hxS21Qhttps://youtu.be/EJQhiIIqRksAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 084 — New Things #6: 'From Resolution to a Different Way of Living'

This final episode of the New Things series brings us to the place where everything either shifts or stays the same. Many of us have tried to change our lives through resolve, promises, and renewed determination, only to discover that nothing at the root ever moves. What the Father brings His sons into is not a stronger will, but a different way of seeing. As the series closes, we return to the work Holy Spirit does in changing perception. When perception changes, life begins to move differently without self-management or effort. What once required constant resolve gives way to alignment, because life is no longer originating in self. This episode gathers the thread of new humanity, freedom, and sonship, and leaves us with the understanding that change does not begin with what we decide, but with what we see.Monday 5 January - the new series 'Firm Foundation Lite' begins, dropping each Monday for 6 weeks, so be sure to join us for this, especially if you are new to the Focus podcast.About AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after severla years living and serving in Poland. FOCUS REVISITEDFor the first time, I am re-releasing a previous episode from 3 May 2025, because I sense there is something strategic in the timing.I strongly encourage you to take some time to listen to this episode before we start the 'Firm Foundation Lite' series on Monday 5 January!*EXTENDED FEATURE EPISODE*Grab a drink, a notebook and a pen and get ready for a deep dive! The weak gospel found in much of outreach and evangelism stops at forgiveness but never brings believers into union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. It leaves the old man untouched and the new man unborn. In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul preached a very different gospel — one of union, death to the old creation, and the birth of a new man — nothing like the diluted message so common today. In this episode, we expose the fatal gap in the "ABC gospel" and proclaim the true gospel: not just forgiven, but crucified with Christ, raised in Him, and made entirely new.Listener's Guide available https://drive.google.com/file/d/15xRYEjuW0VL1_J2AJ4befaUHqmDIoLVx/view?usp=drive_link

083 New Things #5 — ‘Living Under A New Government’

In today’s episode we stay with Isaiah 9:6 and move beyond “a child is born” and “a Son is given” to the next phrase in the same verse: “and the government shall be upon his shoulder.” Having followed the life of Jesus from birth through His hidden years and into His baptism, we now turn our attention to what this reveals about responsibility and maturity within the new humanity the Father is bringing forth.Using the life of Jesus as our reference point, we see that government rests on a person, not a system, and that responsibility follows growth. What was always true of Him by calling was only lived out publicly when it had been worked into Him through alignment with the Father. This episode brings that pattern into our own lives as sons, helping us see what it means to live under a new government where life no longer begins with self, but with the Father.About AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. From His birth, to His hidden years, to His baptism, we see that everything the Father wanted for His family was first placed in Him, the Firstborn Son who now shares His life with us.We look at the seed the Father planted into the world, the maturity Jesus grew into, and the adoption that publicly revealed Him as the Father’s Son. 081 New things #3 – ‘How the New Man Lives: Surrender, Sacrifice, Obedience’

In today’s episode we look at the life that now flows from the new heart and the new spirit the Father has placed within us. Isaiah announced the new thing. Ezekiel showed how the Father would establish it. Now we begin to see how the new man actually lives — and why words like surrender, sacrifice, and obedience take on a completely different meaning when they emerge from the life of the Son rather than the self-life.We explore the distinction between intention and life, Peter’s vows and his collapse, and the clarity Watchman Nee brings to these three words. This series is called New Things because we are the new thing Isaiah saw, learning a new way of living with a new vocabulary. 080 New things #2 - ‘I will do it’

In today’s episode we turn from Isaiah’s announcement of the new thing to Ezekiel’s revelation of how the Father brings it to pass. Ezekiel 36 shows that the Father Himself gives us a new heart and a new spirit and places His Spirit within us so that everything He desires now flows from within. Nothing rests on Adam or anything inherited from him, because the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit act together to establish Their life in our spirit. We walk through these scriptures alongside Jesus’ words in John 14 to 16, and we begin to see that indwelling has always been the direction of God’s purpose. If Holy Spirit is now within us forming the life of the Son, then the real question becomes how we live from what He has already finished. We walk through the scriptures that have been shaping so many recent conversations here in Portsmouth and begin to see that this new thing is not something we chase but something we have already become. We also sit with a powerful reading from Watchman Nee that exposes the divide between the old world and the new, and it leaves us with the real questions we must face. If the Cross has ended Adam and the resurrection has opened the new, what does that mean for who we are now, and what does life look like when we live from what He has already finished? These are the questions we carry into the next episode.Listener's Guide Here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 078 Purpose in Preparation #2 - ‘The Collapse Before the Commission’

In this episode of Focus, Alex continues in Chapter 5 of Miles J. Stanford’s The Green Letters and looks at the hidden years of preparation through the life of Peter. From his confidence and collapse to his commission, we see how the Father’s process brings every son from self dependence to Christ dependence. The breaking always comes before the building, and the collapse before the commission. This is where the Father forms true shepherds, those who have wept bitterly, seen self for what it is, and discovered the sufficiency of His Son living within.Listener's Guide Here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 077 Purpose in Preparation #1 - ‘The Gift of Need’

Alex shares from his personal reading of Miles J. Stanford’s The Green Letters, exploring how the Father Himself gives us our needs so that we might discover that only He can truly meet them. Drawing from the chapter Preparation, Alex reflects on how every hunger, longing, and unmet place in our lives is an invitation from the Father to depend on Him and receive from His life. This episode is a reminder that every need we experience is designed by Him to draw us deeper into His love, to bring us into rest, and to teach us that He alone is our source and satisfaction, and only He can meet the needs He has placed inside of us.Listener's Guide Here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingNancy McCready Ministries here:https://nancymccready.com/podcast/About AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 076 Living as One as One #1 - 'Included in the Fellowship of the Godhead'

In this first of two conversations with Dan Dunn, we open up what it really means to live from our oneness with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We revisit what the Father has been unfolding over these last two years, the difference between living from the outside in and the inside out, and how the life of the Godhead now moves through His people. Together we explore the shift from personal transformation to corporate oneness, how His love becomes the fuel of everything, and how true community is born from the life we share in Him.Listener's Guide Here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 075 Man’s First Sin #3 — ‘No Activity Outside of Him’

In this final episode, Watchman Nee’s words ring clear: “God wants us to have no activity outside of Him.” Here the root of all defeat is exposed—self-reliance. The Father is not asking how good our work looks, but who is doing it. Sin is a living power that rules wherever self is active.Even the best deeds, when sourced in self, are dead works before Him. The call is simple: stop living from independence and start living from the Son. Adam ate of independence and became one with sin. The invitation of the gospel is to eat of Christ and become one with Life Himself.Listener's Guide Here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingThe Messenger of the Cross (Watchman Nee) free PDF here: https://issacharpropheticcity.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/the-messenger-of-the-cross.pdfAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 074 Man’s First Sin #2 — ‘Dependence: The Way the Sons Live’

Alex continues through Watchman Nee’s The Messenger of the Cross, reading section two from Man's First Sin and uncovering what it means to live dependent on the Father rather than independent from Him. This episode exposes how independence became man’s first sin and why the Father calls His sons to live by His uncreated zoe life.Drawing from scripture, Watchman Nee’s teaching, and Barna’s research on worldview, Alex contrasts the good of man with the life of God, showing that dependence is not weakness but the very way sons live—sharing in the highest form of life, zoe, the life of God Himself.Listener's Guide Here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingThe Messenger of the Cross (Watchman Nee) free PDF here: https://issacharpropheticcity.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/the-messenger-of-the-cross.pdfAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 073 Man's First Sin # 1 — 'Missing the Glory, Missing Him'

Romans 3:23 says: “Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives.” For years, many of us have heard this as failing to live up to God’s standard. But Paul is pointing to something far deeper. To fall short of the glory is to miss Christ Himself. In this opening episode, Alex unfolds Watchman Nee’s chapter Man’s First Sin and shows how sin is not just behaviour but a personified power. Adam’s choice in the garden was not about fruit — it was about source. To eat is to become one with what you choose. Adam ate of independence and became one with sin. We are invited to eat of Christ and become one with Him.Listener's Guide Here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingThe Messenger of the Cross (Watchman Nee) free PDF here: https://issacharpropheticcity.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/the-messenger-of-the-cross.pdfAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland. 072 — The Spectrum of Sonship #10 – ‘Paul: From Pharisee to Father (part 2)’

Recorded while on location in Clewiston, FL.The final part for now is this 10 part, short series on The Spectrum of Sonship.Paul’s life was completely turned inside out. The same man who once thrived in the synagogue, confident in his intellect and ability to teach, was brought to nothing so that only Christ could remain. In this episode, we follow how the Father stripped away everything born of independence and self-assurance until Paul no longer lived from the tree of knowledge but from the life of the Son. What once made him proud was now counted as loss, and what once defined his worth was touched by the Father’s hand. This is where ministry ends and fatherhood begins — when a man no longer works for God, but moves from His life.Listener Guideshttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CghKe2NP9ZMslL3fq12ijjq6DhciUFuh?usp=sharingAbout AlexAlex is from the UK and he teaches and disciples across nations after years serving in Poland.
