Offerings, tithing, giving, financial stuff - awkward! Not really when we realize giving is being like God who is a gracious giver of all good gifts. Everything was created by Christ for Christ (Colossians 1:16), so giving is an act of reverent worship. We cannot mature as Christ's disciples if we don't. How much? How often? Marriage Matters (Matthew 5:27-32)
In Matthew's gospel when Joseph found out Mary was pregnant he assumed there had been adultery going on and he decided to divorce her. Marriage matters. America has the world's 6th highest rate of divorce. What does the Bible tell us about adultery and divorce? Whether your married or not, everyone Christian should know this because we speak into other peoples' lives routinely. Interestingly, being the first Sunday in Advent, Joseph and Mary's experience matches our topic this morning very well from the sermon on the mount.
