8.25.2019 is the 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time - Cycle C http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/082519.cfm St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 4:23 "Brothers, I want to send all of you away comforted today. So if you ask me my sentiment on the number of those who are saved, here it is: Whether there are many or few that are saved, I say that whoever wants to be saved, will be saved; and that no one can be damned if he does not want to be. And if it is true that few are saved, it is because there are few who live well. As for the rest, compare these two opinions: the first one states that the greater number of Catholics are condemned; the second one, on the contrary, pretends that the greater number of Catholics are saved. Imagine an Angel sent by God to confirm the first opinion, coming to tell you that not only are most Catholics damned, but that of all this assembly present here, one alone will be saved. If you obey the Commandments of God, if you detest the corruption of this world, if you embrace the Cross of Jesus Christ in a spirit of penance, you will be that one alone who is saved. Now imagine the same Angel returning to you and confirming the second opinion. He tells you that not only are the greater portion of Catholics saved, but that out of all this gathering, one alone will be damned and all the others saved. If after that, you continue your usuries, your vengeances, your criminal deeds, your impurities, then you will be that one alone who is damned." -St. Leonard of Port Maurice St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 5:01 "We treat salvation like it's relative." St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 7:02 "Hope is the gift, the virtue, that allows us to believe that Jesus wants us to be with Him now and forever." St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 7:47 "God challenges us all the time not to take Him for granted." St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 8:45 "Virtue is growing in the tendency to always choose the good." St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 11:09 "If you struggle with the fact that God wants you with Him now and forever, you need to look at the Cross; that's His love for you." St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 13:43"When you were baptized, you were adopted by God." St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 14:32 "Do not look at the lives of Saints and think 'that was easy'"

St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 0:54 Today is the 3rd Sunday of Lent - Cycle C St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 2:40 "We decide now where we spend eternity." St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 4:11 "We are children of God…" St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 10:40 "If the Holy Spirit is stirring in your heart to come back to the Sacrament of Reconciliation, you are going to receive many temptations to delay." St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 12:21 "Every time I go to confession, Jesus keeps showing up, He's never disappointed, He keeps bringing me back to life." St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 13:20 "We can't create our own way, Jesus is the way." St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 15:49 "If you have ever doubted our Lord's immense love for you, got to confession." St. John Paul II Catholic Parish · 17:05 "The Sacrament of Reconciliation is one of the most effective instruments of personal growth. Here the Good Shepherd, through the presence and voice of the priest, approaches each man and woman, entering into a personal dialogue which involves listening, counsel, comfort and forgiveness. The love of God is such that it can focus upon each individual without overlooking the rest. All who receive sacramental absolution ought to be able to feel the warmth of this personal attention. They should experience the intensity of the fatherly embrace offered to the prodigal son: “His father ... embraced him and kissed him” (Lk 15:20)." -St. John Paul II
