Ryan serves an MAF pilot in the Mozambique program, but experienced a very difficult situation two and a half years ago. Ryan was arrested and imprisoned under accusations of supporting insurgent activity, spending four months in prison before being released and eventually exonerated. Ryan and Annabel and their children have been in the U.S. since September 2023, waiting for the day they can re-enter Mozambique and joyfully serve people in need. Renee Hale talks with Jenn Wolf about how MAF made it possible for the organization she serves to bring an important medical training to DR Congo. And in the process, Renee received a special blessing as a mom and believer when she saw her son living out the calling God has placed on his life.

Jenn Wolf teams up with Nathan Jones to co-host this episode. Nathan goes into the hangar at MAF headquarters in Nampa, ID to talk to some of the seasoned Maintenance Specialists, and Jenn recaps highlights from her interview with one of the newest members to join the team. Jenn and Nathan learn that many of the specialists were first assigned in one of MAF's field programs around the world. However, their work here in Nampa has had a much larger global impact.

Imagine a small Cessna aircraft, PK-MCB, serving the Church and missions for almost 50 years in Kalimantan, Indonesia, on the rugged island of Borneo. Now imagine if that airplane could talk, the stories it could tell. We’ve brought you the next best thing: stories from the pilots that flew and maintained this aircraft, and tales of the Kingdom impact it had across the island.

In this episode we visit with Jean Wunsch and hear about her life as a missionary kid in Africa, and later as an MAF missionary in Indonesia and the U.S. Along the way, personal losses, injuries, and illnesses (and a fear of heights) could have derailed her, were it not for her unshakable trust in a faithful God.

Gene Jordan, wife Lynn Jordan, and Ecuador. Gene grew up in Ecuador, flew for MAF in Ecuador, and now his children (with grandchildren) serve in Ecuador. Gene recalls his first flights with MAF, pet monkeys, Ecuadorian rain, and how it feels going back to the same airstrips and villages and being recognized even years later as "that MAF pilot"!

Over the course of their years on the field with MAF, the Westom family had to move numerous times due to the instability of the country they were serving in. These evacuations made for trying times, and leaning on the Lord for safety and peace—and patience—was essential for their family. Brad Westom talks about these events, as well as local superstitions and how MAF flights benefited fellow missionaries.

John and Cora Lou Miller lived and served in Papua, Indonesia. Listen in as John speaks about the unusual cassowary bird, coming into contact with isolated peoples and their distrust of aircraft, and how a love of music can cross barriers of language.
