Samuel as a young child ministered unto the Lord; even though at the time he did not yet know the Lord. There are many other examples of those who know some degree of truth and practice it; yet do not know the Lord. Sermon by: Pastor Charles McKinney

Samuel was a child when he came to Eli. As a child he saw the wickedness of Hophni and Phinehas as well as the weakness of Eli. Smauel made a choice to minister before the Lord and not follow in the footsteps of those before him. Sermon by: Pastor Charles McKinney

Eli failed to discipline his sons as he should have. They held positions as priests and continued to serve; even though they were messed up. Sermon by: Pastor Charles McKinney

Hophni and Phinehas, the sons of Eli were priests of the Lord. Though they held this position, they did not walk worthy, but did evil in the sight of the Lord. Their father Eli did not restrain them as he should have. As a result, they caused men to despise the offering of the Lord. God eventually brought about their death. God makes men rich or poor. Many in this world desire to be rich. However, the riches which count are not those which are physical, but the spiritual. There are many actions which a man may do that do not appear to be wrong, but they are wrong from the Word of God. Just because a man may commit a wrong action and there not be consequences does not mean it is excused by God. Good and evil people are mixed one with another in this world. A poisonous plant was put in the pot of food prepared for the men to eat; symbolizing how good and bad choices are always before us. The lost must know how much Jesus loves them. Jesus prayed more earnestly for God's will to be done. Jesus is a union of all God and all man merged in the womb of a virgin. The second prayer of Christ from the garden was not about a surrendering of the will. As He was about to enter into death, His earnest prayer was for strength to endure what He must accomplish. Christ was all God and was all man suffering for the sins of man. Sermon by: Pastor Charles McKinney

As a captive you are not free. People being captive to sin will die and go to hell. Job was held captive to the pains and suffering he endured. God let Job suffer the attacks of the devil. Sermon by: Pastor Charles McKinney

To condemn God is to assume your way is right and God's way is wrong. Should God's way be canceled? God is exposing man's vain attempt to be righteous. Man's righteousness is not a righteousness which God accepts. Sermon by: Pastor Charles McKinney

Jesus announces at the supper that one of the twelve shall betray Him. Jesus is calling out Judas before the actual betrayal; thereby addressing the hidden sin in his heart along with the intents of betrayal. Judas chose to stay lost and go forward with the betrayal. As Jesus sat at meat, a woman poured a very precious ointment over His head. Though there were some who murmured, Jesus declared it as a good work as she did it against His burial. Animals are living breathing creatures and the closest to what we are as humans. There is much we can learn by studying the animals. There was hypocrisy and spiritual deception of religious leaders during the time of Jesus, particularly the chief priests and scribes who plotted His death while maintaining a show of holiness. Their concern was not righteousness but public perception and timing to avoid an uproar of the people. The phrase “sweet influences of Pleiades” is unique in Scripture, appearing only once. God uses this poetic image to illustrate His gentle yet powerful influence over creation and humanity. The Pleiades star cluster, located in the constellation Taurus, is about 2.6 quadrillion miles away yet visible to the naked eye. Historically, its appearance in the spring sky signaled the time to plant crops, making it a universal agricultural guide across cultures and centuries. There exists another world where the Most Holy lives of which we know nothing. The gates of death connect this world. God asks of man, have the gates of death been opened unto you? Jesus declared unto His disciples concerning the temple that there would not be one stone left upon another. He went on to declare the signs of His coming and of the end of the world. The one thing which must be accomplished before the end will come is that the gospel will be published among all nations. Each Christian has the responsibility to proclaim the gospel. After much discussion with Job by his friends in an effort to determine the cause of why the things which happened unto him did occur, the Lord answered. The Lord did not answer the numerous reasons Job and his friends had raised. God had His own arguments which He presented. It was evident Job nor his friends could answer the Lord. How we give to the Lord reflects much about us. It reveals how we esteem the work of God and how we really feel about money. The widow gave all she had into the treasury. Jesus declared she had given more than all the rich who had cast in out of their abundance. Regardless of the size of the gift, the Lord knows what it cost you to give. There is much which is unknown to man and as a result we are made to continue to search and look for answers. God made each of us this way in that we may realize the answer lies outside of ourselves. The Scribes held a position of great importance in Israel, yet the Lord told us to beware of them. By the time Jesus was upon earth, the typical Scribe did not have the character and honor of Old Testament Scribes. This underscores the danger and threat that things which began good may not necessarily remain that way if men are not willing to do that which is necessary to sustain it. There is light, yet men have an inability to see it. The failure to see light is a lack of faith. This light is the Light of Christ. The failure is not on God's part. Darkness speaks of unbelief and damnation as the Light has no appeal to lost sinners. No matter the darkness of the clouds, there is always light. Sermon by: Pastor Charles McKinney

The Scribes had said that Christ is the son of David. Jesus asked how do they say this when David by the Holy Ghost said the Lord said to my Lord. How can David call Him Lord when He is his son? The Scribes and Pharisees were not able to answer this question revealing their lack of understanding that Christ was indeed the Lord from heaven. Job had suffered like no man before. Elihu appears to instruct Job but Job knows the things Elihu speaks about. You don't have to go through something in order to instruct others. However, wisdom is gained through experience. There is a difference in one who experiences things as opposed to those who just quote things. Jesus was asked by a scribe what is the first commandment. Jesus answered that to love the Lord thy God with all the heart, soul, mind, and strength and thy neighbor as thyself. All are guilty before God. He stops us so that we are aware. If God did not stop us, we would never stop on our own. It is in this life that God stops the hand and the mouth in order to prepare us for the next life. Sermon by: Pastor Charles McKinney

The Sadducees confronted Jesus concerning marriage in the resurrection. In reality, the Sadducees did not believe in the resurrection; thereby exposing their true motive as a mockery of truth and a perpetuation of their erroneous doctrine.
