Every six months, leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gather to share messages in general conference. This podcast consists of an in-depth look at each of these messages. Behind the Scenes of "Preach My Gospel" — Pres. Christofferson's "The Character of Christ"

Todd Christofferson, 2nd Counselor in the 1st Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, April 2026 General Conference talk, "The Character of Christ." Mitch and Clay were joined by Lane Steinagel, a polyglot linguist who worked for decades in the Missionary Training Center (MTC) and the missionary department where he helped create the first edition of the church's missionary manual, Preach My Gospel. In addition to conducting field research at numerous "test missions," he wrote the first draft of chapter 7, "Learn Your Mission Language." Mitch and Clay were joined by Greg Wilson, the guy who likely made the furniture you pull out for ward parties. Greg founded Mity (aka Mity-Lite) to create lightweight tables and chairs for the church. He grew it into a multinational company, supplying the church but also schools and other venues, before selling it 20 years ago. In retirement, the Wilsons served a mission to the Democratic Republic of the Congo where they experienced incredible things and made lifelong friends. Greg is one of the biggest advocates for everyone, but especially seniors, to serve missions. Hopefully his stories inspire you to put in your papers! Pro Animator makes BOOK OF MORMON Graphic Novel – Elder Ozani Farias

Clay and Mitch were thrilled to chat about the Book of Mormon and Elder Farias' talk with our incredibly talented special guest, Pablo Smith, creator of The Book of Mormon: A Graphic Novel. After working in the animation business for over 20 years, Pablo decided to create a faithful adaptation of the Book of Mormon for his children. To make it easier for them to consume, he turned it into YouTube videos. To his surprise (but nobody else's), it's now taking off! We talk about the power of scripture as first aid for anger or other emotions, the moral wrestle between self-sacrifice and fair compensation when creating beneficial religious content, a crucial decision Pablo had to make when assigned an inappropriate scene on his first day as an animator, and why studying the Book of Mormon daily is essential for spiritual survival.
