Episode 7: Willingness to be Imperfect

Phil is back, and this episode we get into something a lot of people wrestle with—perfection. What does it actually mean to be “perfect” in a spiritual sense? We talk through the tension of striving for perfection while still dealing with real, everyday imperfections in our faith. Using scripture from Isaiah, Matthew, and Philippians, we break down the difference between being complete in God versus trying to be flawless on our own. This conversation is less about having it all together, and more about understanding growth, obedience, and what it looks like to pursue God honestly, even when you feel inconsistent. If you’ve ever felt like you’re falling short or questioning what “being perfect” really means, this one should hit home.

Looking at Matthew 21:28–31 (the Parable of the Two Sons) and Matthew 8:2–3 (Jesus healing the leper), we see that God isn’t looking for perfect emotions or immediate desire to start working towards change.
