Creation Moments on Oneplace.com - The Evolutionary Tree of Life Is Dying

We are all familiar with the evolutionary tree of life. It is supposed to depict how life began as a single-celled organism and over immense periods of time mutated into all the various forms of life we see today. We have offered several Creation Moments programs recently that explained how new genetic studies simply don't support this evolutionary tree. Those of us who accept young earth creationism are not the only ones who are beginning to notice this problem. Creatures that are completely unrelated, according to the evolutionary tree, have very similar genes. More often than not, DNA information disagrees with a creature's supposed lineage as it is presented on the evolutionary tree of life. Very different creatures, unrelated according to the evolutionary tree, develop from very similar genes. Our genetic knowledge of creatures is most complete with the simpler organisms. Even evolutionists have admitted that microorganisms without a nucleus do not fit into any kind of evolutionary tree. The facts are killing the evolutionary tree of life. Some evolutionists are admitting that the history of life cannot be represented as a tree. Some even ask whether the history of life can ever be known with any certainty. In short, the new genetic information we are rapidly accumulating supports the Bible's teaching that each kind of creature was separately created. New genetic information shows that there is not one trunk to the tree of life. The only real source of life is our victorious, risen Savior, Jesus Christ.John 11:25"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live…"Prayer: Lord, thank You for giving me life, especially eternal life. Ben Young Daily Podcast - The Power Of One

When God created this world there was order until one man, Adam, brought disorder and chaos through one decision to rebel against God. But all is not lost because one man, Jesus Christ, made one decision to surrender to the will of His Father, restoring order and bringing a new kingdom for those who believe. Through His resurrection power, we can overcome our past and make a difference in our broken world.

The Greg Laurie Show - On Chuck Swindoll's Last Sermon, Grace, Regret, and the Four S's | Part 2 of a Conversation with Chuck Swindoll

In part two of this conversation with Pastor Greg Laurie, Pastor Chuck Swindoll opens up about what he'd do differently across six decades of ministry—chief among them, saying yes sooner, affirming more, criticizing less, and bringing his wife Cynthia into full partnership years before he actually did.  He names the four temptations every pastor faces and explains why the last one never stops requiring vigilance. Pastor Greg asks what text Chuck would preach if he had one sermon left, and the answer will surprise you. Along the way: memorized hymns, mentors from Dallas Seminary, the rise of antisemitism, and a tender word about caring for Cynthia through dementia. Your Daily Bible Verse - Why Would God Delight in Crushing His Son? (Isaiah 53:10)

Today’s Bible Verse:"Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand." — Isaiah 53:10 Sometimes, God’s will doesn’t look like victory—it looks like suffering. Isaiah 53:10 reminds us that even Jesus’ pain had divine purpose. The crushing wasn’t the end; it was the beginning of redemption. A Word With You - Finally Clean - #10317

My wife and I had been on the road for quite a while, and company was coming as soon as we got home. Frankly, with the whirlwind that preceded our departure, there was some unfinished work that we left behind at home. And, thankfully, a friend came over while we were gone and pitched in. One job my wife had asked her to tackle was to get some stubborn food and melted wax spots out of our nice red tablecloth. Well, one of the first things we noticed when we walked in the door after our trip was that tablecloth spread out on the dining room table, looking as good as new. And it had a handwritten note on it. It simply said: “I’m clean. I’ve been washed, and all my dirty spots came out.” Pretty amazing - a note from a tablecloth. That could only happen at our house. I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about “Finally Clean.” Not long after I read that note on the tablecloth, I thought to myself, “Ron, you should have a note like that on you.” Because those words describe what Jesus Christ did for me; something no religion could have ever done. “I’m clean. I’ve been washed, and all my dirty spots came out.” You know, actually, that’s the testimony of every person who has ever trusted Jesus to forgive their sins, based on what He did on the cross for them. And you know, it could describe you before this day is over. In 2 Kings 5, beginning with verse 10, our word for today from the Word of God, God tells the true story of a man who is a revealing example of how this dirty-to-clean miracle works. Naaman is a Syrian military leader who, for all his fame and success, can’t do a thing about the terminal leprosy he suddenly developed. Hearing about Elisha, God’s prophet, Naaman travels to Israel with his entourage to try to find a cure. He tries to buy the cure with the big money he brings with him, and the man of God won’t touch the money. Then, speaking through His prophet, God tells Naaman, “Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.” Naaman is not about to humble himself and bathe in the muddy Jordan River. He tells his servants he should just go home and do it his way. But they urge him to give this strange prescription a try, and here’s the outcome: “So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy.” Wow! Well, here’s the point: if you'll go to the place where God says you can be cured of your terminal sin-cancer and do what He says, He'll make you clean, He'll make you new. You can’t buy His forgiveness by giving Him money. You can’t earn His forgiveness by doing great things. You can only receive His forgiveness by going, in your heart, to Jesus’ cross and throwing yourself on His mercy and His love. He’s the only One who can make you clean because He’s the only One who could or would pay the death penalty for all your sin. So, this can be the day you can bring to Jesus all those mistakes, all the wreckage, the regrets of a lifetime, so you can be clean inside for the first time in your life. Doesn't that sound good? He’s waiting to hear from you. You can talk to Him something like this: “Jesus, You died on that cross to pay for my sin, and you know, I have never really grabbed you in total trust to be my Rescuer from my sin. But beginning today, Jesus, I’m pinning all my hopes on You, because I know you're alive. Starting today, Jesus, I'm yours.” You know, if you want that new beginning that only Jesus can give you, I urge you to go to our website and check out the information there from the Bible about how to know you have begun a relationship with Jesus and you belong to Him. It's ANewStory.com. And that's a pretty good name for it, because that's where your new story cou

Keys for Kids - daily devotions and Bible stories ... - Braving the Storm

Read: Psalm 46:1-7 “I miss our old house,” said Tomás. He sighed as he thought about why they had moved into a trailer on Grandpa’s farm. First his little brother, Felix, was seriously injured in a car accident. Then the company Dad worked for went bankrupt, and it had taken him quite a while to find a new job. Tomás knew living in the trailer on the farm saved a lot of money. “But it’s kinda nice to be living near Grandpa,” he said. “I like that too,” replied Mom. “It’s one of the blessings that has come along with our troubles.” She glanced out the window. “It’s terribly windy today, and I think we’re in for quite a storm. Let’s get over to Grandpa’s house. We’ll be safer there.” Mom picked up Felix and they hurried over to the farmhouse. “I think we’d better get downstairs,” Grandpa said soon after they got there. “I don’t like this wind.” So they went down and huddled together in the basement. Even there, they could hear the storm raging outside. “Let’s pray,” Grandpa said. He prayed out loud, thanking God for the rain. I can’t believe Grandpa didn’t even ask God to stop the storm! Tomás thought. When the storm finally did stop, they hurried out to look things over. “It’s still raining a little,” said Mom, “but look at the beautiful rainbow the storm brought us!” “Grandpa, when you prayed, why didn’t you ask God to stop the storm?” Tomás asked. “Well, the storm was really a blessing. It brought the rain we needed so badly.” Grandpa smiled at Tomás. “You know, sometimes it takes storms in our lives to bring special blessings too. When everything goes the way we’d like, we often forget how much we need Jesus. But when we go through difficult times, we learn how much He loves us as He takes care of us and walks with us through our struggles.” Mom nodded. “I’ve learned that when God allows storms to come into my life, He can use them to help me know Him more deeply and trust Him to see me through them.” “Right!” said Grandpa. “Having faith in Jesus and trusting Him to give us strength will help us brave any storm that comes our way.” –Barbara J. Westberg How about you? Are there storms in your life right now? Is someone you love sick? Are you having trouble with friends or siblings? Is money tight at your house? You may never know the reason for the storms in your life, but you can trust Jesus to be with you and help you through them. Remember how much He loves you and be thankful for the blessings He brings through the storms. Today’s key verse: Count it all joy…knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. James 1:2-3 (NKJV) Today’s key thought: Trust Jesus in life’s storms

Your Daily Prayer - A Prayer to Wisely Steward Our Resources

John the Baptist's instruction to the crowds who came seeking baptism was practical and direct: if you have two shirts, share with the one who has none. If you have food, do the same. True repentance, he made clear, is not merely a change of heart. It produces a change in action. This principle runs throughout Scripture, from the Old Testament commands not to harvest a field a second time so the poor could glean, to the early church where believers regularly shared their resources with those in need as a natural overflow of the Holy Spirit's work in their lives. For those who follow Christ today, the same call remains: act justly, love mercy, walk humbly. Care for the poor and the hungry as if we were directly caring for our Savior Himself. Whatever we have been given, whether much or little, we are stewards of it — and wise stewardship means holding it with open hands, grateful for what we have and quick to share from any surplus with those who have not. Today's Bible Verse "Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same."— Luke 3:11, NIV Ponder Today True repentance produces transformation in action, not just in attitude. John the Baptist's call to the crowds was not merely to feel differently about their lives — it was to live differently, beginning with how they shared what they had with those in need. Wise stewardship is a natural overflow of our relationship with the Lord. As the Holy Spirit produces love, kindness, and compassion in us, caring for others with our resources stops being an obligation and becomes a genuine expression of faith. Whatever we do for the poor and hungry, we do for Christ Himself. Matthew 25:34-40 makes this staggering connection unmistakably clear. Stewardship is not just a financial principle — it is an act of worship directed toward our Savior. We live in a culture that promotes gaining more and wasting freely. Reorienting our priorities around what God cares about — justice, mercy, compassion, and love — requires intentional effort and the Spirit's ongoing work in our hearts. Contentment and generosity grow together. When we are genuinely grateful for what we have and hold it with open hands, we become more attentive to the needs around us and more willing to give from whatever surplus we carry. A Prayer for You Today Lord, forgive me for the times I have wasted my resources. I live in a society that values gaining more, often more than I need, while promoting wastefulness at the same time. As I lean into my relationship with You, help me reorient my priorities around what You care about: justice, mercy, compassion, love, and kindness. Produce in me by Your Holy Spirit the actions that flow from genuine faith. Let me live with contentment, thankful for the necessities You provide, and with open hands and an open heart that is quick to think of others. Guide me to give from any area of surplus to bless those in need. And in every circumstance, may I care for others as if I were directly serving You, my Savior. In Your name, Jesus, I pray. Amen. Don't Miss an Episode If today's prayer stirred a desire to hold your resources with more open and generous hands, we'd love to stay connected. Creation Moments on Oneplace.com - Conchs In Space!

The shell of the giant pink queen conch is made of such remarkable material that scientists speak of its design, even while they say that it is a product of evolutionary chance. The beautiful shell is made of a form of calcium carbonate called aragonite. Yet it is structured in such a way that it resists fractures 100 to 1,000 times better than aragonite ordinarily would. The conch's secret is that it combines the aragonite with protein. Further, its shell is made up of three layers of aragonite. The middle layer is structured around a rectangular beam of aragonite sheathed in protein. This duplex rod is then bundled with others into a larger beam. The larger beam is in turn bundled with others to produce a larger beam. This complex arrangement gives the shell its extraordinary strength. Pressure that ordinarily causes a catastrophic crack in the aragonite merely scatters the pressure into thousands of tiny cracks.Materials scientists studying the conch shell refer to this as a high-performance composite structure. They hope to apply the principles learned from the conch shell to make stronger building materials, bridges and even space vehicles. If such sophisticated design could arise without a Designer, modern companies would surely be wasting their time hiring highly trained designers to improve their products.Ephesians 6:11"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."Prayer: Protect me, dear Lord, within the armor of Your perfect Truth. Amen.Ref: Science News, "Conch yields clues for future materials." Image: Researcher holding juvenile queen conch, Jennifer Doerr, NOAA SEFSC Galveston, PD, Wikimedia Commons. Leading The Way Radio Podcast - …Be A Refugee?

There is no refuge outside of Jesus Christ. In this powerful message, Dr. Michael Youssef teaches from Joshua 20, where God establishes cities of refuge—places that uphold both justice and mercy. These cities point forward to Christ, our Great High Priest, whose death fully satisfied God’s righteous judgment. Those who run to Him find forgiveness, freedom, and peace. But those who run from conviction remain exposed before a holy God. Dr. Youssef warns listeners not to delay, excuse sin, or ignore the call to repentance. Christ alone is the refuge for sinners, and His mercy is available to all who come to Him in faith. This episode calls believers to: Run to Jesus Christ as the only true refuge, Repent instead of resisting conviction, Trust God’s justice and mercy, Rest in Christ’s finished work, Become “runners” who point others to the Savior. A lost and condemned world needs refuge. The Church must point them to Jesus—before it is too late. Love Worth Finding | Audio Program - The Devices of the Devil

Sermon OverviewScripture Passage: Nehemiah 4:1-6:16The Book of Nehemiah tells the story of the rebuilding of the fallen walls of Jerusalem. And at the end of the sixth chapter, the walls were completed. Despite the devil’s attempts to stop them, the people of God prevailed, and built as God instructed them. Nehemiah 7 begins: the job was completed. The people of God were secure, organized, housed, and fed.But there was something that needed to be done inside these freshly restored city walls: building their community on the Word of God. God blessed His people with a real, genuine revival; one that was rooted in a hunger for the Word of God.Nehemiah 8:1 says,"And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of the Moses, which the Lord had commanded to Israel."There was a famine for the word of God. The people gathered and begged Ezra to preach to them. The revival came about by the hearing of the Word of God. Nehemiah 8:3 says, "And he read therein before the street that was, read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday." Adrian Rogers says, “These people were attentive, not time conscious. They had revival because they were not clock watchers.”There was an honor given to the Word of God. Our greatest danger is indifference toward Scripture. If we believe the Bible to be true, we ought to honor it as these people did in Nehemiah 8.There was a proper handling of Scripture. It’s not just enough to read the Bible; someone has to explain it. Preaching Scripture is reading a passage of scripture, then analyzing, organizing, illustrating, and applying it.Finally, there was a heeding of the word of God. What took place when they began to heed the word of God?There was mourning over their own sin. There was joy. There was obedience.A church that is built on the Word of God is one that obeys His commands.Apply it to your lifeDo you have a relationship with Jesus that is built on the Word of God? Until you know Jesus, you won’t understand His Word. And until you understand His Word, you will never truly live.

Answers with Ken Ham - Tasting Tasteless Water?

This is Ken Ham, whose ministry has produced the family-friendly Answers Bible Curriculum. Our tongues can sense five basic tastes: sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and savory. Well, one study suggests we can sense a sixth “taste”: tasteless water! The study on mice found that sour taste receptors can also “taste” water and help mice figure out what’s water and what isn’t. These receptors also help tell the brain when the mouse’s thirst is quenched. This study hasn’t been replicated in humans yet, but it seems likely that it could be. The more we learn about God’s creation the more amazing we realize it is! Next time you grab a glass of water, thank our Creator. Your Daily Bible Verse - The Surprising Message behind the Parable of the Sower (Luke 8:5-6)

Today's Bible Verse: "A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up. Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture." — Luke 8:5–6 (NIV) The Parable of the Sower is one of Jesus' most familiar teachings, yet its message is just as challenging today as it was for His first listeners. At first glance, the story seems to be about a farmer and his seed. But Jesus uses this simple illustration to reveal a much deeper truth about the condition of our hearts and how we respond to God's Word. Not every seed takes root because not every heart is prepared to receive it. Some people hear God's truth but quickly dismiss it. Others receive it with excitement, only to fall away when life becomes difficult. Jesus invites us to look beyond the surface and ask an important question: What kind of soil is my heart? Dr. Barnhouse and the Bible on Oneplace.com - Love of the Brethren

Believers often sing this well known hymn, "Blest be the tie that binds our hearts in Christian love; the fellowship of kindred minds is like to that above." Indeed, the fellowship that exists between true believers must reflect the love and communion that exists between God the Father and the Son, Jesus Christ. Dr. Barnhouse asks the question, "Does genuine love for your brothers and sisters in Christ flow from your heart and shine forth in your life?" Pastor Greg Laurie - The Golden Key to Spiritual Growth | Sunday Message

Why do some believers grow deep roots while others fade out fast? Jesus answered that question 2,000 years ago in the Parable of the Sower. Turns out, spiritual growth isn’t one big decision—it’s thousands of small, daily choices. Bible or phone? Church or no church? Those choices add up, and they shape who you become. Pastor Greg Laurie walks us through the four kinds of hearts Jesus describes: Hardened, shallow, crowded, and fruitful. And he shares the real “golden key” to lasting spiritual growth. Notes: Luke 8   The Christian life is more than praying a prayer and getting “fire insurance.”   It's following Jesus as your Savior and as your Lord.   Life is one long string of choices.   By not choosing spiritual growth, we choose spiritual decline.   Deuteronomy 30:19 (NKJV) "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life.”   If you want to go forward as a Christian, you will.   God has given us everything we need for spiritual growth and progress. 2 Peter 1:3   Read Luke 8:11–15 (NLT)   Which of these four soils represents you best? Only one out of four makes it.   The job of the Sower is to throw the seed out far and wide.   This type of sowing seed was known as “broadcasting.”   Our job is to sow the seed of the word of God.   God does the work of conversion.   The Apostle Paul shows us how we each have a role to play. 1 Corinthians 3:6–7   The only way to tell if someone is really a Christian is through the test of time.   1 John 2:19 (NLT) These people left our churches, but they never really belonged with us; otherwise they would have stayed with us. When they left, it proved that they did not belong with us.   Prodigals come to faith, fall away, and return later.   Some people have a weak beginning but a strong finish. That is better than a strong beginning and no finish.   The Hardened Heart Luke 8:12   Mark 4:15 (NLT) “Only to have Satan come at once and take it away.”   Whenever you share the gospel with people, expect satanic opposition.   Every time you hear the gospel, your heart can get softer or harder.   Shallow Hearts Luke 8:13   These are the hearers who seem to be converted but never get grounded in the faith.   They are living on an emotional high and a state of spiritual euphoria.   Perhaps they have experienced a supernatural touch from God.   Faith that cannot be tested is faith that cannot be trusted.   Christianity is Christ!   “Christianity has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult and left untried.” —G.K. Chesterton   Some people are simply impulsive by nature. Some people fall away because they have built their faith on the wrong foundation.   Some people fall away because of persecution.   Mark 4:17 (NLT) But since they don't have deep roots, they don't last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God's word.   2 Timothy 3:12 (NKJV) Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.   Some people fall away because unbelief set in, causing them to doubt God at the first emotional low.   Infested Hearts Luke 8:14   Second best is often the worst enemy of the best.   Excessive worry can crowd out spiritual growth. Mark 4:19   We live in a time when people are obsessed with extending their lives.   God determines the length of our lives. Job 14:5   Fruitful Hearers Luke 8:15   The golden key to spiritual growth is how you hear and respond to God’s word.   Mark 4:20 (NLT) “Those who hear and accept God's word.”   The difference isn’t exposure to the word. It’s what the heart does once it lands.   The Bible is everywhere, but it’s not in our hearts.   The issue is not access. It’s appetite.   Luke 12:48 (NIV) From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.   The hardest thing about studying the Bible is sitting down a

Keys for Kids - daily devotions and Bible stories ... - Ungluing Hurts

Read: Ephesians 5:1-2, 21-33 Hailey knew she should ask for help before trying out her new manicure set, but she couldn’t wait. She needed something to take her mind off the bad day she’d had. She spilled the glittery nails onto her desk, and without bothering to read the directions, she grabbed the glue and unscrewed it. “What’s wrong with this glue?” she muttered as the watery liquid squirted out of the tiny spout. She shook it, wondering why it wasn’t thick like school glue. Shrugging, she held it against her fingernail and squeezed out a generous amount. She pressed one of the nails onto the glue, which seeped out the edges and down her finger. Moments later, Mom walked in. “Oh! You’re already trying those out? Be careful with that glue!” Hailey smiled, then frowned as she tried to pull her hand away from the table. “Help! My hand is stuck!” Mom groaned and rushed over to inspect. “I wished you’d asked me for help! This glue sticks really tight.” Hailey gulped back a sob. “It does? I think I used a lot!” Soon Hailey’s hand was free, but some of her fingers had lost patches of skin. She held up her bandaged fingers. “Mom, you know what this reminds me of?” “What’s that?” Mom asked. “The bad news I heard from Megan today,” Hailey said sadly. “Her parents are getting a divorce, and that’s a lot like getting my fingers unstuck from that table, only worse. Ungluing hurts!” “I’m sorry to hear about Megan’s parents,” Mom said as she sat down. “You’re right, divorce hurts much worse than trying to get that strong glue off your fingers. God created marriage as a picture of Christ and His church—the unity and love between a husband and wife is meant to show how much Jesus loves us. But divorce is a result of living in a world full of sin and broken relationships, and it hurts.” Hailey nodded. “Megan’s really upset, and both her parents are too.” “Maybe you can help Megan by reminding her how much Jesus loves her,” Mom said. “When broken relationships hurt us, He promises to comfort us and never leave us. Show her what that looks like by sticking by her as a friend.” Hailey looked at her bandaged fingers and nodded. –Rebekah Love Dorris How about you? Do you know someone who’s gone through the pain of a divorce? Maybe you’ve experienced divorce in your own family. Divorce hurts because it’s not God’s plan for marriage. If you’re experiencing the pain of divorce, remember that Jesus loves you and promises to never leave you. If a friend is dealing with divorce, point them to the love and comfort they can find in Jesus as you walk by their side. Today's Key Verse: Walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us. Ephesians 5:2 (NIV) Today's Key Thought: Divorce hurts
